I actually have been im jfk when i was about 2 yrs old. We were flying to doha with Qatar airways. Honestly dont remember anything about the experience
Ah Kennedy Steve! The guy who kept pilots on the straight and narrow moving their planes around the airport and he did it with humor and professionalism. Yes, he's perfect for his new job. Let's see a video on the new airport in Istanbul. It looks like a palace.
@Nicholas Michael I understand the fact that tomorrow isn't promised to anyone, but investing today is a hard thing to do because I have no idea of how and where to invest in?
This channel (both Long Haul and Simple Flying in general) is one of the most underrated, underappreciated, most hard working channels in all of UA-cam. Keep working, you brilliant people. You make magic every time you release something new.
Kennedy Steve! His live ATC clips are the stuff of legend! To be that funny yet still the consummate professional is a true talent. Great to see him running part of the airport.
With "Kennedy Steve" working terminal One I can only assume that it is the best run terminal at JFK. A little side note is that the night in 1963 that the VOR at JFK was changed from it's older IDL to JFK, I was just changing the radio to that station as the turnover occurred. After hearing the Morse code IDL for that VOR it was kind of confusing that the next Morse code came as JFK.
Kennedy Steve is certainly one of a kind. He is one of the few people in my bucket list that I would like to meet someday! This was a very nice video, I am sure there is/was enough material that the video could have lasted an hour and a half, with Kennedy Steve alone!
Who doesn't love Kennedy Steve? He's an absolute Legend in the airline industry and we've heard him so many times on ATC channels making pilots lives a little bit more light hearted whilst still doing his job to an immensely high standard. I don't think anyone knows this fantastic airport better than this man.🇬🇧🇺🇸✌✌
Hey that's Kennedy Steve! So glad to learn that he is still working at the airport after his mandatory retirement from his ATC position. He is a legend! Tango Yankee!
I hate those aircraft comparisons . like ur just comparing them on the basis of their range and model type and units sold bruh! This is my type of content and you will win all hearts if this series continues
A beautiful project team Simple Flying Would appreciate if y'all could film Mumbai Airport, the busiest single runway airport in the world that had more than 1000 daily departures pre COVID
My wife and I landed at JFK last October, and we walked 3.5 miles from where we landed to our next gate, and never left the teminal we were in. It was exhausting!
I started my love of all things aviation when I began working at JFK in 1986. Left in 89 and spent 31 years working between FLL and MIA. Once an AVGeek always an AvGeek. Now my minnie me is starting his AVGeek career at ATL as an aviation meteorologists. Oh also totally an Kennedy Steve fan girl….always looking for DELTA TUG 2!
Absolutely amazing! We love these videos. Thank you for all your informative and exciting content. Would you please create more video like these for the following airports: (no particular order) San Francisco SFO Denver - DEN Chicago - ORD London - LHR Los Angeles - LAX Singapore - SIN Honolulu -HNL Frankfurt - FRA Madrid - MAD Tokyo - NRT
Just flew through JFK in October 2020. Had not been there since the 1970's. Wow what a difference, and loved the air train, too bad they are dragging their feet on one for LGA. Recently retired as an aircraft mechanic from a major US airline but never worked at JFK. Have some friends that did and they said it's quite the experience. FLY NAVY!!!
WHY isn't it mentioned, among ALL that chatter, that the Saarinen TWA terminal is now anchoring a HOTEL? The amazing central shell houses the lobby/restaurants/bars, and rooms are in custom-built semicircular buildings contoured around the site between the Saarinen building the the Jet Blue terminal. I've stayed there awaiting a 10:30 am Emirates A380 flight to Dubai and onward to Mauritius. Rooms are tiny, but with a runway-view room, aviation enthusiasts can get a view of the Emirates and Singapore Airlines gates -- and they both route the A380 into JFK. (SQ's routes the 380 to/from Frankfurt and another A350 Long-Range aircraft goes nonstop to Singapore over the North Pole in a 19 hour ride.) Lodging at The TWA Hotel an exciting way to spend the night in New York, either prior to or after an odd-hours flight. Just an update from a glaring omission in this video, thanks.
KENNEDY STEVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OMG okay edit, it's funny to me that Kennedy Steve is now incharge of the ramps that one gave him hell when he was working as a ground controller.
My Father worked for PAA for over 40 years, until they locked him, and his crew, out in '90. Hanger 14, wheel shop.JFK WILL never be built - the road-ways and taxi-ways may as well be on rollers - they just keep on changing every paved surface every few months...
I knew Kennedy Steve couldn't just retire from yelling at Delta Tugs! So glad to see that he's still there to keep them in line, but hopefully in a higher paying and less stressful position.
Having worked for a major US Airline with a hub at JFK, I found this video quite interesting. I would spent up to two months at a time at JFK (pre 9/11) and tried to see as much as I could of the airport. It would have been nice it the airport train had been running during my stays there, alas it was under construction instead. Thanx for video and keep them coming!
I would like to see docs on Atlanta-Hartsfield and how it became the world's busiest airport and my hometown airport Philadelphia International and how few from humble beginnings to being a major international hub.
Very cool documentary and well done. Tons of docs about all new modern Asian airports. Nice to see one about a renowned American airport. Look forward to more!
We hoped you liked our first original documentary! Please support by sharing it with your friends and family!
I love it
Nice. We want more 🙂

I love these types of videos. Thank you for these
Kennedy Steve!!! That man is a legend for those of us who listen to ATC recordings.
I was wondering how i knew him and then i saw this and it clicked lol
@@lucasconkling6960 The only reason I knew is because I watched an interview with him awhile back. Cool to see the man behind the voice!
Oh absolutely love him
@@drumjedi5301 his voice is unmistakable
Just wondering how he talks to tug drivers more...
Ah Kennedy Steve! The guy who kept pilots on the straight and narrow moving their planes around the airport and he did it with humor and professionalism. Yes, he's perfect for his new job.
Let's see a video on the new airport in Istanbul. It looks like a palace.
Back then Kennedy Steve told pilots to talk to the Ramp, now he IS the Ramp! It came full circle!
Good to see Kennedy Steve's still at the airport even though he's no longer in the tower.
Investing in today is priceless because tomorrow isn't promised, trading Bitcoins, gold, silver and crypto secure a better Tomorrow.
@Nicholas Michael I understand the fact that tomorrow isn't promised to anyone, but investing today is a hard thing to do because I have no idea of how and where to invest in?

Kennedy Steve! So glad to hear he is still working at JFK in a new role.
This is my airport. I come here everyday to work. My terminal is 4. Working here for 14yrs. 😁 Love it. Great to see Kennedy Steve. He is a legend.

6:10 even the professionals use flight radar 24 haha
Woah lol
I saw this when I saw someone use it later in the video like the other comment on this comment
Do you reckon they use the free / regular version or do they get some deal with the Devs, like do they get the Pro version or something like that?
I would like to see additional series on the other JFK terminals and especially the baggage handling system. Great job, love this channel.
Kennedy Steve! His live ATC clips are the stuff of legend! To be that funny yet still the consummate professional is a true talent. Great to see him running part of the airport.
They were never live

If I hear Kennedy Steve's voice my laptop's cursor automatically goes to the "like" button
Oh....... and I LOVE the old TWA Terminal, it's an absolute design classic and should be preserved forever as it's beautiful.

Nice job. There's so much to the JFK complex. You managed to pull out stories that were less common. Excellent.
Kennedy Steve, return of the legend xD

Kennedy Steve, if you read this: You’re a true legend, Sir!
I don’t want to see a single dislike on this video. This is just so good!

I thought London-Gatwick was the busiest single runway airport in the world?
Mumbai has 2 runways -_-
@@Boeing-ER-jy9vq dude they are not used simultaneously as they intersect
@@togafly. still counts as a two runway airport
Kennedy Steve as an ATC manager used to complain bitterly about Terminal 1 ramp control back when he worked for the FAA.

Finally, the Rise of the Regional Jets segment is no longer the longest LHbSF video.

Also how runways locations are determined.
