Can you do amazing songs on bad movies? Decode by Paramore and The Forgotten by Green Day are on Twilight, New Perspective by Panic! at the Disco is on Jennifer’s Body, etc.
11:56 I'm pretty sure Paramore wrote Rose Colored Boy and Fake Happy thinking about this song. I'm just so glad to find other people who hate this too. Back in 2014, this song was fucking EVERYWHERE and people seemed to love it and I was like "Am I the only one here who thinks this is super annoying?"
#7: ok i'll admit that i liked this, but i can see it from your point of view. also the thing you said about ID and X Ambassadors is so true. #6: never heard this #5: never heard thi- wait this was from snakes on a plane?! what...? #4: unpopular opinion: i didn't think this was as bad as many people say it is, but it definitely is far inferior to the original. still is the weakest song on the soundtrack. #3: like britney and all, but i agree that this one is really cheesy. 2000s cringe indeed. #2: never heard this, but it does have the guy from nickleback- THIS WAS FROM SPIDERMAN?! #1: i actually really liked this when it first came out, but i'm sick of hearing it now. again, i can definitely see it from your point of view.
Now that “Happy” isn’t being drilled into people’s heads 24/7 anymore, I kinda like it. Lol. The radio isn’t playing a lot of upbeat/tuneful songs right now.
Yeah. I loved it when it first came out, started to get sick of it after it's massive airplay, and now I like it again. I think it's good to step away from good songs for awhile so you can appreciate them more.
lmao i saw patrick in the thumbnail and thought ‘immortals wasn’t That bad’ but i watched the video and completely forgot fob did a song for ghost busters. that’s how bad and forgettable it was.
The thing that you said about the fall out boy cover I definitely agree and the way you described it about how Pete wants to think that there are the cool band that just wants to be with everybody that was the exact same thought I had when that champions remix came out
And if anybody that's reading this comment thanks I hate the Champions remix or anything I don't ok it's a good song and I honestly do believe that RM's rap verse actually did mash the song because it's talking about success it's talking about never giving up and whatnot which is what the song is basically about but I do agree however that pete thinks that fall out boy is just as cool band that can just get along with anybody they see which is true in some cases but I just wanted to point something out so please don't take my comment the wrong way
Is that something to do with them being on the list? Anyway yeah they're the 2010's Nickelback because they're so good (and Nickelback are still fine in the 2010's)
Kelli Renee I love imagine Dragons. I will say that Evolve is their weakest album but I still like a lot (not all) of the songs on it, smoke and mirrors is my favorite album and I think I might like the new one. No band is perfect and that’s what makes it special we get to see them at highs and lows in inspiration and when writers block kicks in and leads to less than amazing songs (thunder), if they pick up and come in strong with good songs then I will continue to listen but if they can’t get back “in the swing of things”(for lack of better term) I’ll simply only listen to the old stuff. Edit: this is wordier than I intended and pretty cheesy
Here's my opinion of them : 7. Too many artist feature on the song can make you unbearable. This is the good example. Super unnecessary. 6. I think I don't mind with this one, despite it's sound similar like their any other song. 5. The movie itself for me is ridiculous, same like the soundtrack. 4. They tried so hard on this to get the hype of the movie, unfortunately they failed miserably. But Wolf Alice song was the worst. Even 5SOS did it better. 3. I think it's okay, I probably think that song was the moment when Britney at her best, even though the lyrics kinda weird. Please don't laugh at me. 2. Ughh. 1. Kinda overrated, but I don't find it annoying.
Sorry but I have to agree, despite the lyrics, musically I think this song is very good and nostalgic! And yes, I am a Nickelback fan and I don't mind admitting it...
I'm 100% sure that they used Cobra Starship because it was 'Snakes on a Plane'. Get it? Because a cobra is a snake and a starship is (presumably) an aircraft??? No? Okay. I'll go.
Oh yeah "Ghostbusters" was definitely way worse. I just thought since it so heavily relied on the original chorus that I thought it wouldn't count as an 'original' song.
2013: "Happy" was an awesome song because it played in Despicable me 2, one of the top movies of my childhood 2020: I regret liking this song, it sounds so mawkish now that it's VSCO girls' anthem
If you think about it, a 'room without a roof' probably wouldn't feel that great. If it rained or was really hot out, you would definitely be upset about it.
I understand the hate to Hero from the Spiderman 2002 soundtrack but for personal and nostalgic reasons I enjoy this song... It reminds me of a simpler, better time..
Lol Britney is my queen but I'm Not A Girl, Not Yet A Woman makes me cringe so hard every time I listen to it. What's even worse is that I fucking loved both the movie and the song when I was younger.
I'd choose "I Don't Wanna Live Forever" by Zayn and Taylor Swift and "Heaven" by Julia Michaels as terrible songs from the movie soundtracks for the Fifty Shades of Grey series.
how on earth can y'all talk about Taylor's standards and bad soundtrack songs and say idwlf which is alright and not sweeter than fiction with the line literally "your eyes are wider than distance."
I don't know if James Bond themes count, but if they do... The Jack White/Alicia Keys theme for "Quantum of Solace" is a mess of epic proportions. These are two great performers and artists that go together like peanut butter and ketchup, in other words, not well. Also, Madonna's "Die Another Day" is pretty abysmal as well. Whereas most Bond themes are either soulful or booming and epic, Madonna's take on it is bubblegum pop junk that you'd hear from a Britney Spears song at the time.
Hard disagree on Hero. I hate Nickelback but I have a spot for this song. To my high school self, this tied in wonderfully with Spiderman 2 and I do have some nostalgia for it.
Limp Bizkit - Take a Look Around from the Mission Impossible 2 soundtrack, I will continue to love that song, even though I don't like Limp Bizkit that much. Wes Borland's guitar riffs in that song were sick.
I legit LOVE "Happy". Not even gonna cushion the blow on that one by calling it a guilty pleasure. Maybe it's the chord progression? I'm a sucker for whatever trick Pharrell is pulling there. I know it's a cheap trick, and yet it still works. I see why it could get on someone's last nerve if they were endlessly exposed to it, though. The song has jack squat to do with the movie it was made for, though - I saw that movie, and it didn't even register when I later heard the song that it was from a film soundtrack. In terms of film soundtracks, Pharrell was a little more on point with Hidden Figures.
I’ll defend the JBJ track since I find his first solo album ok, but Richie Sambora definitely had the better solo album between him and Jon. “Stranger In This Town” and “Blaze of Glory” are both decent hard rock albums.
Hey! I only like one of these seven songs. For the record, I don't like how the bridge and final chorus are repeated at the end of the song so I made a version on audacity that cuts the song down to two minutes and thirty eight seconds. It doesn't lose anything of value, it just becomes the short breezy song it was always meant to be.
*Unpopular opinion* 7. I actually like "Sucker for Pain". It's quite solid. 6. Never heard it 5. Never heard it 4. *HATED IT WITH A PASSION* 3. It's alright 2. That song was my goddamn jam back then!! However, much like the 2nd movie, I much prefer "Vindicated". 1. Is it overrated? Yes. Is it overplayed? Yes. Has it worn out its welcome? Yes. But, in my opinion, I always find myself dancing along and singing along to the song.
The producers for young guns 2 actually wanted to use wanted dead or alive in the movie. But when they contacted Jon Bon Jovi he just said he’d write one for the movie anyway.
12:22-12:31 😂😂😂 Also, believe it or not, my dad liked "Happy" back in the day even more than "Let It Go" from Frozen which I've been singing along to a lot since the film's release admittedly, and I still don't regret it. 😂 but in all seriousness, "Happy" does not age well, and the enjoy way I can enjoy it is if I watch Despicable Me 2 again.
I agree with most of them except for Sucker for pain that I personally kinda like, but it may not be for everyone and not the best and I can understand that many people don't like it. But my hugest disagreement is Happy of course. A nice uplifting song, simple, yes overplayed I agree, but this doesn't mean it is a bad song, I heard what you said about it, but I still can't understand the hate for a song that is definitely not a masterpiece but it is a funny song
i do get a little nostalgia from hero but i think it’s more of the memories tied to spider-man cause it played during the end credits i think. but i fully get it, it’s the definition of tacky tbh
I love Bring It, it‘s an absolute hot mess (ha, see what I did there) that you cannot take seriously, which makes it so much fun to dramatically sing along. But yeah, it has zero relation to the movie.
For Hero Jose wasn't supposed to be on that track. It was Jerrry Cantrell, but he had a problem with travel and Jose stepped in. I think it turned out okay. But it would have been better with Jerry singing and playing on it.
I actually didn't know "Not A Girl (Not Yet A Woman)" was from Crossroads. Honestly, I still have a soft spot for it because it was one of my favorite songs when I was a kid, but I won't deny that it's cheesy either. I also forgot Hero was from Spiderman. I remember hearing it on the radio all the time back when it came out, but it definitely does not hold up at all.
The only ones I would disagree with would be #3 and #1. I do like Britney Spears a lot and the track is good, but it would be one of her not as good singles. A little corny, but it's kinda nice to me, never saw the movie btw. And Happy, I liked it a lot when it came out but I've heard it sooooo many times, maybe even more than you have. The song does have some nice instrumentation to me though.
#2 was much, much better without the excessive orchestral accompaniment. They played an a (partially) a cappella version on the radio when the movie came out, and it was impressive. I can’t find the version anywhere
I grew up with watching spider man as a kid. I remember hearing that song hero from it as well, and when I got older, I didn’t actually realize it was Chad Kroeger from Nickelback that had sung on this track. Still a good song.
The way you talk about things really reminds me of Jenna Moreci for some reason?? It’s a sort of slightly passive aggressive/sarcastic yet honest voice, it’s great
I don't know about bad songs in movies but I definitely know that Queen of the Damned's songs (performed by Marilyn Manson, Chester Bennington, David Draiman and Jay Gordon) are freaking amazing and some of the best movie songs I've ever heard. They should be featured on a video or something.
Uh, Jon......you didn’t rant about Happy in one of your annual worst songs of the year lists. It was technically released in 2013 but wasn’t a hit until and became the #1 song of 2014, neither of which your worst lists (the ancient Seven On Sunday episode for 2013 or the top 25 for 2014) contain you ranting about it. Also, I honestly don’t get how it’s “forcing” anyone to be happy. It’s pretty much just saying “hey, if you’re already in a good mood like I am, how about ya clap and sing along to this catchy pop tune,” which I see absolutely no problem with at all. But hey, opinions are opinions, and if you hate it, that’s fine. I can respect. One other thing, though, you did say that when Wayne said the title of the song in his verse on Sucker For Pain that it had nothing to do with the rest of his verse, but um......the vast majority of his verse on that song is him talking about inflicting harm on himself through various over the top methods, so honestly, I kinda find the claim that him saying he’s a sucker for pain “has nothing to do with the rest of his verse” is about as far from the truth as possible.
I was just waiting for Fall Out Boy's Ghostbusters. It must've been an insurmountable task to record an "updated" version of the iconic track-so they just shouldn't have.
I actually liked 'happy' when it came out. For me it's just an upbeat song that you don't need to take too seriously. I also liked 'sucker for pain' and Dan Reynolds' voice in that song. But I couldn't ever get why they had to participate so many people in it
Ok but I remember the Snakes on a Plane song coming out. They’re name is Cobra Starship. I’m pretty sure their entire original brand came from a clout chase on that weird movie. (And also I low key love that song.)
I Believe by DJ Khaled and Demi Lovato from A Wrinkle In Time is probably one of the worst I’ve heard. It’s absolutely laughable in how bad it is - so fitting to the movie, I guess.
NeverMindGaming I’m pretty sure nobody will defend it. It’s too poppy for DJ Khaled to meme on without sounding pathetic, so his crowd’s out. It’s so innocent that it alienates a lot of Demi’s fans who know songs like Daddy Issues, Cool For The Summer and Sexy Dirty Love. And I’m pretty sure the movie A Wrinkle In Time has no fans.
The Edge by Tonight Alive was supposed to be on the Amazing Spider-Man 2 soundtrack. It was axed last minute by Alicia Keys' It's On Again, which was a horrible song. The Edge was way better and feels more true to the feel of the movie.
When I saw Britney, I thought you were gonna put Ooh La La from The Smurfs lol. I had a Britney Spears phase three years ago, and Ooh La La and I'm Not a Girl Not Yet a Woman (which I had no idea was in a movie) were a few of the songs I did love then. Hearing Britney did give me some nostalgia, but yeah. I'm glad I grew outta that phase haha, especially from Ooh La La because it's so cheesy.
Oh god, when I saw Britney in the thumbnail, I seriously thought it was gonna be "Boys" from Austin Powers. I mean I can't stand her at all but I was like "HOW COULD YOU, THAT SONG SLAPS". But yeah, I'm Not a Girl is her worst song BY FAR. Which is saying a lot.
Can you do amazing songs on bad movies? Decode by Paramore and The Forgotten by Green Day are on Twilight, New Perspective by Panic! at the Disco is on Jennifer’s Body, etc.
GREEN DAY IS ON TWILIGHT?!
Unfortunately :/
@@madeleinep.828 😤
I legitimately love Jennifer’s Body, and my least favourite thing about it is the music.
Omg I was just thinking this.
Snakes on a Plane.
Cobra Starship.
I'm sensing a theme here
How have I never caught this lol
LMAO BRUH SUCKER FOR PAIN WAS THE WORST, I COMPLETELY FORGOT ABOUT IT. Nothing I want to hear less than Dan Reynolds talking about bondage.

Yeah, I liked it initially, but after hearing it for the millionth time made me hate it. Like, *really* hate it
Pharrell Williams is a Rose-collored boy
Aye!
i agree
Rose colored boy, please stop making all that noise...
#7: ok i'll admit that i liked this, but i can see it from your point of view. also the thing you said about ID and X Ambassadors is so true.
#6: never heard this
#5: never heard thi- wait this was from snakes on a plane?!
Agree with all this, but would change out Blaze of Glory for Can’t Stop the Feeling

Sell Out Boy are fucking awful now.
Now that “Happy” isn’t being drilled into people’s heads 24/7 anymore, I kinda like it. Lol. The radio isn’t playing a lot of upbeat/tuneful songs right now.

We had to sing Happy for my 7th grade school concert. I was dead inside throughout our rehearsals and the show.

And if anybody that's reading this comment thanks I hate the Champions remix or anything I don't ok it's a good song and I honestly do believe that RM's rap verse actually did mash the song because it's talking about success it's talking about never giving up and whatnot which is what the song is basically about but I do agree however that pete thinks that fall out boy is just as cool band that can just get along with anybody they see which is true in some cases but I just wanted to point something out so please don't take my comment the wrong way
As soon as I saw Patrick in the thumbnail, I knew that Ghostbusters song was going to be here
I'm Fucking Trash YOUR NAME DESCRIBES ME
Obviously cobra starship is on snakes on a plane they have cobra in their name
Fall Out Boy's cover of Ghostbusters is an example of something that we should never EVER speak of again
When I seen FOB I panicked that you put Immortals from Big hero 6 that was such a banger
when i saw you said linkin park i panicked thinking you were making your own worst list then i read above and was like "ohhh ok yes i agree"
Still better than Imagine Dragons. I swear that their music is made for car advertisements!
@Yoshifan9511 Some of their older songs are decent enough I guess.
Is that something to do with them being on the list? Anyway yeah they're the 2010's Nickelback because they're so good (and Nickelback are still fine in the 2010's)

Kelli Renee I love imagine Dragons. Here's my opinion of them :
7. Too many artist feature on the song can make you unbearable. This is the good example. Super unnecessary.
6. I think I don't mind with this one, despite it's sound similar like their any other song.

I'd choose "I Don't Wanna Live Forever" by Zayn and Taylor Swift and "Heaven" by Julia Michaels as terrible songs from the movie soundtracks for the Fifty Shades of Grey series.
personally, i didn't mind either of those songs

Well, I Don't Wanna Live Forever is not very good. Considering Taylor's standards, she is capable of putting much better songs.

I’ll defend the JBJ track since I find his first solo album ok, but Richie Sambora definitely had the better solo album between him and Jon. “Stranger In This Town” and “Blaze of Glory” are both decent hard rock albums.
Blaze of Glory and Hero IMO are good songs. The rest I agree with.
My church's worship band did an actual cover of Happy not only once but twice on different occasions.

your thoughts on happy by pharrell williams made me laugh uncontrollably :')
#2 was much, much better without the excessive orchestral accompaniment. They played an a (partially) a cappella version on the radio when the movie came out, and it was impressive. I can’t find the version anywhere
No everything I do, I do it for you by Brian Adams?
I'm so glad I finally found someone else that hates Happy as much as I do
Im surprised Fall Out Boy didn't make the list twice with "Immortals" from Big Hero 6
Now you could make a seven good original songs from movie soundtracks video
anyone who frowns when they hear happy has gone past the grown up stage and is now in lethal grumpy land.
Yeah and the X Ambassadors singer doesn't sound like Dan Reynolds lol. That's like saying Eminem and Logic sound the same
I really like "Hero" but maybe it is because i haven't related to Spiderman before liked it. Great video tho, make a part II
Can’t Stop The Feeling from Trolls became Happy pt. 2 for me. Never made me happy or upbeat, just annoyed me endlessly.
I was just waiting for Fall Out Boy's Ghostbusters. It must've been an insurmountable task to record an "updated" version of the iconic track-so they just shouldn't have.
And I thought we got over "Fear" from 2015...
I Honestly forgot that ghostbuster song exsisted from Fall Out Boy
Also do you like the song “I Don’t Want To Miss A Thing” by Aerosmith?
I actually liked 'happy' when it came out. For me it's just an upbeat song that you don't need to take too seriously.
I also liked 'sucker for pain' and Dan Reynolds' voice in that song. But I couldn't ever get why they had to participate so many people in it
Ok but I remember the Snakes on a Plane song coming out. They’re name is Cobra Starship. I’m pretty sure their entire original brand came from a clout chase on that weird movie. (And also I low key love that song.)
Yeah, someone is definitely going to rick roll you about your #1 choice.
I flinched as soon as I heard happy, school bell for 3 years. I had to listen to it 4 times a day, 5 days a week and it was torture.
*BECAUSE IM HAPPY*
The Edge by Tonight Alive was supposed to be on the Amazing Spider-Man 2 soundtrack. It was axed last minute by Alicia Keys' It's On Again, which was a horrible song. The Edge was way better and feels more true to the feel of the movie.
I thought "Wild, Wild, West" by Will Smith would be on here.
Oh Lord, I happily forgot about 'Happy'
When I saw Britney, I thought you were gonna put Ooh La La from The Smurfs lol. I had a Britney Spears phase three years ago, and Ooh La La and I'm Not a Girl Not Yet a Woman (which I had no idea was in a movie) were a few of the songs I did love then. Hearing Britney did give me some nostalgia, but yeah. I'm glad I grew outta that phase haha, especially from Ooh La La because it's so cheesy.
9:58 excuse me how dare you insult anything from the spiderman soundtrack
Can't he? Everyone is entitled to whatever opinions they have 😕
Oh god, when I saw Britney in the thumbnail, I seriously thought it was gonna be "Boys" from Austin Powers. I mean I can't stand her at all but I was like "HOW COULD YOU, THAT SONG SLAPS".
But yeah, I'm Not a Girl is her worst song BY FAR. Which is saying a lot.
Ugh happy brings me back to year 9 choir when we had to perform that.. And being an alto all we sang was THE WORD HAPPY UGH
Thank you, you are one of the only people who don’t like Happy, I truly don’t get how people can listen to it willingly
May I join the club? I absolutely agree with his opinion on it, the song is so over the top and annoying :P
