I have been riding an RC390 since it originally come out in 2014. I really wanted to upgrade to a Bigger KTM, unfortunately There is no room to grow in KTM lineup here in India..🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺😢😢😢😢😢😢
The later gen 690 which I paid a paltry sum for due to electrical issues (new wiring harness) old harness had some interesting custom work (hack job). But yes the 690 is my absolute favorite single it’s like riding hyperactive velociraptor that keeps yelling SEND IT! The only bike similar in its proclivity for not wearing the front tire down so much is my trusty old yz490. Now this gorgeous blue and orange 390 and I just have to have one and make a few corrections to the exhaust and euro5 strangulations
Looks like quite a few very sensible upgrades compared to my tracked-out Ninja 400 - I’d love to have the stouter frame, lighter wheels, hollow axles and stock adjustable suspension on the Ninja . . .
KTM, had one 2 warranty years stuffed with issues. Sorry KTM reliability will never compete with Japanese andothers. I have owned - KTM 1290-390-500 KAWASAKI Z900 Honda Africa twin - crf 300 BMW GS 800 -R 9 T Sinnis scrambler Herald-maverick BMW were the least troublesome and with least manufacture quirks. i own rc390 for 6 months and 5000km now, i had a small clutch issue which was fixed by warranty in a day. On the other hand, ive met a guy who has rc125, he had oil leak problems (tried to fix with warranty, didnt help), key lock issue (couldnt start the bike, had to fix it too), and a few smaller issues. So i guess its hit or miss, depending on your luck. Fantastic bike in my case
It's faster to both 60 and 100 compared to the older models. Top speed is slightly lower, yes. However, the bike is more refined, better maneuverability in traffic, more comfortable and has got phenomenal brakes! Only thing going against it is the front design, but overall the bike looks great in person. And it's mostly Indians who are criticizing the looks, most moto enthusiasts in Europe and the US dig the new look!
Finally the 390 looks cool now.
Still waiting for the KTM RC690/790 to compete with the Aprilia 660 & Yamaha R7.

Not really, theres so much differences with the old model
The hideous look does not increase the top speed, infact it is slower than previous models from 0-100 and the Top speed..
