I followed your instructions and set up my fi-7160. It is working flawlessly, thank you very much!
So sorry but due to the hurricane damage and complete insanity, I have been away from comments etc. Thank you so much for your support! Glad it all worked out for you
Excellent job on communicating to us card fans. thanks for video! Peace!
Otis - Thank for taking the time to put this together. Got my fi-8170 and let you take me through the process step by step. It was perfect. Much appreciated.

Super detailed duplex scanner guide for sports cards on this platform, must watch for anyone trying to figure out configurations and settings. This helped me tweak my settings. Thank you!

This was awesome! You did a great job! I have a fi-7160 that m just learning how to setup and it helped me big time! Now the closet full of cards is about to get scanned! THANKS!
So glad I could help. I know what you mean about the closet of cards. I am in the same boat..its sinking....BIG TIME!! Have fun..let me know if you need anything!
This video helped me out alot when setting up the fi-8040 for scanning sports cards. Problem I have is when I have doubles it either says rename or will actually scan 2 of same card. Other than that I’d still be trying to figure out all the settings without the video. Ty
Thank you!
Very Welcome!
Any idea on how to solve an issue I’m having? My machine is jamming when i scan using card savers. The very first batch i created was with card savers and i had no issue. For some reason, last night, I can’t one through without it jamming.
Really appreciate this video. Would you be willing to do a video for the Mac OS setup? It appears PaperStream isn't available and it runs through Image Capture? Is there a work around, or a way to setup folders in a similar fashion for Mac OS as you did in the video?
Hey, i'm struggling with the same issues...any luck figuring this out? Was super excited watching the video and now struggling once again with the Mac setup... :(
@@kenneth920 I ended up switching over to a PC. Might not be an option for everyone, but it eliminated all the issues. Also, I reached out to him on IG about some other scanner questions and he got back to me immediately. Super helpful. Maybe hit him up there.
How do you set up the cropping feature on Mac Book Pro. I’m struggling….
Love this technology and using with Kronozio. Cutting my workload by at least 80% in listing cards. However, if I remove the rollers on my 8170, there’s a little plastic guide that leaves a groove in my cards, even through the ultra pro penny sleeves. It’s so frustrating. No damage happens with the rollers, even to chrome cards, but a pain to remove sleeves and then resleeve.
Very helpful for me. Unfortunately, I accidnetally installed the Pro version not basic as you instructed. Should I re-install or keep it as is?
Awesome video, I just wish my new scanner would stop jamming. It wont let a single card through. Nothing is working. I'm pretty broken up after spending so much money.
Thanks allot for the video 👍 A quick question how does it work with Pokemon? Regarding the Pokemon back logo? Do you have any suggestions or recommendations how to set it up? Or should that settings work as you just showed? I just bought the scanner I don’t know how to use it.
So sorry but due to the hurricane damage and complete insanity, I have been away from comments etc.I am sure you have found your answer by now, but in case you still have questions about this, I have scanned thousands of pokemon cards and once I changed the piece to the one that we created (to stop indentation issues) it was awesome!
I have a roller print line when scanning my cards in penny sleeves
I followed all your setup instructions for the fi 8170, great instructional video
By the way.... everything was good until all of sudden the the lines started to appear.
But you can't see any lines on card or penny sleeve after it has been scanned.
I tried multiple cards on different years. I've scanned all 1970 -79 cards so far.
I am out of ideas to solve problem. I can't be only one with this issue. Can you help??
Regards,
Dj Wisniewski
Having the same issue. No apparent damage to the sleeve or card but what looks like print line appears in the scanned images when I use penny sleeves.
i met same issue.did you solve it now mate?need some help.
Great video just ordered an 8170. Any tips for doing the same on Mac since PaperStream Capture isn’t available?
Here I did this quick video showing you how this works with the Image Capture program that comes with the mac for free! ua-cam.com/video/csLSuz9f71c/v-deo.html
How do you select black or white background?
Does it scan Yu-Gi-Oh, Pokemon, Mtg cards?
Hello this is such a great video for the new user of the Fi-8170 or similar for trading cards load. I have a question regarding a white tin line streak going across some o the scans for 1962 topps that have the sleeve on them, do you know the cause of that. I have scan them without the sleeve and came out so far fine., but am weary about do that with other cards that are high gloss type to create some roller/wear line on them. I have removed the roller that was inside as you instructed and have been scanning them sideways with sleeves and without sleeves. Tested them both ways. Just if you know why thin line streaks occurs, some go all the way across and some at at the edges but at about same area. Thanks, Gabe
Thank you for your feedback. Can you please send me an example to my email tarek@maxwaxpax.com
@@maxwaxpax I will get an email and attach them later tonite, thnx
doesn't work like this on mac?
So set up is nothing like this on Mac?
They are not mac compatible yet.
My 8170 scans great on up and down. But when I file it's all back first then front. Not f/b and when I try to scan sideways it will not turn 90 degrees so either the front is upside down or the back. And new it making a noise. But when I transfer those cards to my file it's still all back then the front starts. I don't know if it's broken or what. Have you ever heard of this?.
sorry it took me so long to reply. Yes this is normal. It is not an issue but rather an adjustment to make. This is why I use a free rename took to put the cards in the right order. I change the names from f and b to a and b. Then the A (which was the F) is put in front of the B. Would you like a short video on how to do this?
Could you please do a video. Thank you
@@maxwaxpax how do we do this? I have the same issue
