ok so I have gone a ton of different options and here is what I can tell you. The BCW sleeves were very well for what I need and they are priced perfectly. Here is a link as I have some on my site but you can just as easily go to BCW and get them directly. Without a doubt there is no way I would use this scanner to scan top loaders. I Can tell you that it was not on my first run that it scratched. It took a while (maybe 100 cards) but then one happened to hit it the wrong way and that was that. To be clear, there is not fix from Fujitsu. They were kind enough to help me but that required a new scanner to be shipped. My take on this is not to use toploaders.

Oh no! I hope that is not the case. I think it is a terribly mistake for anyone to advertise this to be good with top loaders considering the risk of damage. I now see that some company is doing some auto feed top loader that can send a ton of them through and I am like "WTF" now you are just asking for it.

yes this is the fix to stop the indentations in the cards. This should help you but please let me know if you have other issues.

David, I tested it on raw cards without sleeves and it worked well. Let me know if you have issues as there is always room to modify the part here and there as needed.

for most people it was pretty quick but is also depends on the cards. I scanned about 100K cards and did not notice it and then started noticing it more which prompted me to make this part.

I am so sorry for the delay. I did not see the msg and the new software did not point it out to me. I have since fixed the issue and am now able to reply. I am not sure if you still needed help with this but if so, I would recommend that you go with an Ender 3 to start with. They are pretty tough machines and are work really well in all conditions. I have found them on ebay for under 100.00 and I believe that Microcenter has coupons so that you can walk in and get a new one for under 100.00 Again, very sorry for the delay to your msg. Hopefully the issue on my end is now resolved.

Thomas - did you mean to pick UPS? I noticed that the shipping was high and wanted to make sure my site did not mess up and force you to pick that.

You got it. I will get this done today for you my friend. As for the tape, I tested painters tape and it held up as well. I am currently in the process of making a 3D rubber print of the part to test as well but the tape seems to be doing really well. I will run about 1000 cards today through it and be able to report back if it held up but so far so good.

I actually created a video where I am very much opposed to scanning top loaders after one ended up scratching the scanning glass. This was a huge red flag for me. Fujitsu was amazing and did replace the scanner since it was brand new, but I made sure to mention that I do not think this is a good idea at all. I cannot give you an answer on this due to the fact that I am simply not using top loaders with this scanner anymore. I use my ScanSnap ix1300 for thicker scans. Sorry I could not be more help.

Thank you I will keep an eye out, I have an older 7160 but wanna upgrade to contactless plus I like the ideas of not having to buy 2 scanners to update as the 8170 I believe only does the same as the 7160.

I am going to work on it a bit to see if I can tweak the settings and get it to break them up. I will let you know but one thing that I do like is that they can quickly be cropped from this point which still makes it a lot faster and safer than removing each card!

No offense taken. You are entitled to your opinion, but your opinion is wrong in this case. The fact is that this was a comparison between both the importing of the cards into both programs and the video is spot on. Secondly, I have now scanned over 120,000 cards into the software and the fact remains that importing and scanning directly have had about the same results in terms of recognition. In fact, the issue with this particular video was due to a glitch in their software. I was contacted by the company and we went through the new version (which you can see in the second video) and the scanning recognition and turn around was awesome! And the import feature is also for people who do not have scanners that are able to directly import. So please, do not tell me that it is for something that is not the case. Not everyone is going to have a high-end scanner that is compatible with the software and for those who do not, the import feature is just as strong as the direct scan. In fact, based on my tweaking, importing using the scanner software can even produce better results at times.

My comment has nothing to do with recognition. You scanned the cards in scansnap and then imported them. You didn't import photos of the cards as if you didnt have a scanner... My comment stands firm.. You gave bad information. When you were scanning your cards, you should have scanned them directly into the software instead of importing them... I understand you are trying to compare AI accuracy but if you read your other replies from people.. They are turned off by hitting the space bar when it isnt needed when using the scanner as you are.... Either way... Krono is better than CDP.... PS... I enjoy your videos
