- The 1976 Silver Dollar Chevy K10 step-side sport truck is back, and it's time to finally fix its bed. We completely bodywork, paint, assemble and finish off the metal work on the truck. Can you believe it's the same truck? I barely can!

The truck is ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS, Dalton! For my limited paint n body skill set, Black is to be admired, not attempted! Well-done, Brother!!!! BEAUTIFUL! Great Video! A+++++
Thanks man! She's gonna make a truck yet
@@PoleBarnGarage wow! Big Time Brother! Dr. Lee OutontheRanch. You Win, checkered Flag 🏁 My Man! You Won the Gameof Life
It looks great as a body Man U r giving great advice to people to get out and fix there own vehicle
Holy shit, I don't even recognize that truck anymore
He's pretty handy with a paint gun ( and a $hit ton of body work)
Second thoughts about getting rid of it
That boy good!
Nothing to it, $300 of bondo/glass, $400 in paint/clear, $800 in sand paper and 100,000 hours of sanding.
He did a great job on the body work
But... But.... you aren't suppose to paint without a $550,000 sealed booth!! 😂
The humidity is 51%!!! You can't paint in such conditions!!!
Soooo.... are you saying I’m NOT supposed to paint outside in the gravel where dad painted everything?! That’s the only dust control we do around here
@@patrickancona1193 well that's what motertrend and all those fancy pants people say. 😃
That's only for Jaaaaaaaaag's lol
@chasebh89 learn ur product and u can always paint no matter the conditions I've seen guys spray uncovered in there backyard and comes out better than 20k jobs and some of these paint jobs were painted 6 or 7 years ago still looking good
Looks great! Can't believe it's the same truck. And yes, Cody needs his own channel. I don't know why, but he makes me happy and laugh when he talks. I smile when I see him on the show. Please Codester, start a channel!
or he should be on this channel more
Nice work! Finally, a UA-camr most working class people can relate to.
Thanks man!
How do you treat ur bare metal before priming ? If u don’t mind me asking how do u paint steps from beginning to end I’m new to this stuff
Hopefully it stays that way as sponsorships and viewership come
Love what you do! So many car youtube channels are working in million dollar shops with seemingly unlimited budgets. Your channel is for the rest of us "regular people". Keep doing what you are doing!!!!
Cody need a channel!!Would be fun to see his works/projects since he does great on camera.
Meh. Thats a lot of work for possible little glory. Getting him to fill in from time to time like angus does for Kevin would be great.
I love the distain for patina, I'm sick of the huge engines in a pile of rust! Keep up the good work.
Looks awesome 👌🏻 and Cody definitely needs a channel or has to become a permanent fixture with you. He’s a funny guy 😂
Yup. Reminds me of my brother and me working on stuff. Start with a 12 pack 🙂
Insert Joe Pesci quote...."funny how, funny like I'm a clown?"
When you started this truck build I didn’t think it would be half as good as it is now, I really enjoy when your brother is helping, he got a great humor about him, I don’t know about his own channel but it’d be great to see him on this channel a lot more often, also JD on more would be nice, funny kid you can see where he gets his humor from.
I'd have him on more if I could pay him lol
For those who don't know painting black is hardest color to get right. It shows nearly all body work. Dalton great job! 👍
I love how you took a classic square body so rusted out and gave that gem new life.
Fantastic job.
Like many others have already commented, this is the truck that sent me your way from Junkyard Digs. I am certainly glad I subscribed. Your channel is very entertaining and informative! I am jealous of your multi million dollar shop though, all I have is a driveway. The floor jack doesn't roll as well, but I make due. Keep up the great work! Always remember, a mechanic uses a hammer for everything and an electrician uses everything for a hammer!
SAME!
Cody is the best. Nice work on the truck.
It's cool to see a good Father teaching his son about life & the importance of hard work for ethics or character building. Way to go good Dad!!!
Agreed, parents these days let the whatever raise their onions.
@@patrickswagger So true he will grow up to be a man! Not some snowflake being offended by everything.
Fantastic! You claim that you don't care about certain things, but the results give you away. Perfection.
I love that your shop is old school! Back in the day, every old man had garages like yours, no nonsense built on a shoestring budget. The only thing missing is the cigar smoke or pipe tobacco smoke drifting through the shop. Man, I sure do love this UA-cam channel, thanks Pole Barn!!!
Cigarettes work to
Not too shabby, decent body lines and gaps. Sometimes you have to be creative while doing bodywork in order to finish the vehicle in order to just drive the damn thing. Should be a fun one to drive!
Dude, that's awesome! First video I saw of you was when you picked up this truck. I immediately subscribed to your channel. To see this trucks transformation from then till now has been inspiring. Can't wait till the stripes go on. You have brought back to life a rare truck that was almost beyond repair but you saved it. I commend you.
Best channel on YT, period.
Thanks!
Smashed it mate, looks great. We love Cody, bring on another channel, though I think you guys are likely better together.
I have to agree. Dalton and JD seem the base of the channel and then we gets to see Jessee with spot appearances with CODY.
THEN the adventure vids going with guest stars like Jim meeting other yTube car regulars. It's like a comedy warehouse with the education of getting something that has not run, in a very long time, running and back on the road.
The adventure of trying to get home is interesting and can be long but the injection with Jessee, Cody, JD, Jim, and all the others, makes the video one of the coolest I have seen.
I have to admit, I have re-watched some of the vids, like the burnt up GTO with Dalton, JD and Jim presented by "MR GOOD PLIERS", and I enjoy the humor everytime I watch it. Dalton seems to have that kind of video with a rare humor that can be catchy.
My thought is CODY is doing fine as an occasional guest of the show as are all the rest of the shows "co starrs".
I like how this channel is different, fun and entertaining as well as educational. I can't tell you how much of Daltons TIPS, I have used in my
current project on my square body. (do I have stories).
Thanks for everything Pole Barn Garage.
when Cody said "this number with a little bit of that" *rotating arm* it was so relatable to my shop, we have an in house machine shop and there's certain parts that they consistently f*** up 🤣I often tell new guys when assembling just grab a drill bit and wiggle it around in the hole then it'll all fit.
You really are a man of the people, Dalton. Your videos have been a nice mix of budget restoration while putting in some more effort above the usual "patina'd" projects, this truck being a nice example of that. I'm looking forward to see what you have in store for the rest of the fleet.
I love his videos -- don't tell Derek but I actually like Dalton's videos better than VGG 😅🤫
Nothin says i went broke on this build better than PATINA……😂😂😂
I could not believe, even imagine this truck beeing repairable, you have a youtube channel that proves and shows that the regular guy can do things, we do not need the "hollywood magic" to fix, Thank You so much for your channel, it is so good to feel part of it all, The Holley Goat, that is all amazing, anything is impossible for the JagMen
Hooooooooo ya! Looks amazing. I was like "Yeah, yeah, you'll never restore that" when you picked it up from Kevin's. When you got it home and I saw how bad it was I honestly never thought you'd actually got through with it but by golly you did and I think it looks really REALLY good. She'd gonna be a peach when she's done.
The video brought back a lot of old memories of my dad and his neighbour fixing up and painting cars, just like you, first in a poly-tunnel kind of affair, then when that blew apart in a storm, they built a wooden shed made out of timber and pallet wood slats. The roof didn't quite leak as much as yours but it still leaked fairly well. I remember begin in the later shed and them fixing my dad's car in there one evening in a torrential downpour just like that storm. Nice.
We do what we gotta do right?
Man the truck turned out sweet… you are one of my favorite you tubers…. Reason being you are humble and show people we can do it we just need to try… dont ever forget where ya came from thats what makes you a special person…your son in time will always remember the times dearly…. Love ya man
I'm thoroughly impressed. She's going to be a beaut when she's done and even in its current stage it's absolutely fantastic, especially when you see what you started with. Can't wait until it gets all the shiny bits on!
For starting out as rusty as the Silver Dollar Chevy did, the Truck looks really great! This truck has come from rusty basket case to a nice going to town rig.
Dalton I know you weren't the most keen on that cowl hood, but it suits that truck perfectly. I cant believe how far this truck has come. No one would ever believe it's the same truck you started with. Great job sir and I cant wait to see the finished product when you get it there.
Dalton truck looks super!! What your son is learning will make him one of the few that will save his generation!!
I can’t believe that this is the same truck that JYD dug out of a barn! My hat is off to you for bringing this hunk of, you know what, back to it’s former glory. Especially without a 10 million dollar shop with 80 bays? 🧐We can’t wait to see it all completed. Keep up the great work D We are so looking forward to the next installment on this ol’ jewel. Thank you! SUBSCRIBE PEOPLE!
Absolute perfection for a driver that truck went from someone saying it is scrap to one of the best step side trucks on the road
Great Job! Keep up the good work! Watch your expenses, don't want to lose the shop now. I thought that I was the only one that used structural super glue to hold in the bolts for a lifetime repair.
Being a self proclaimed hack artist.... You did a bang up job on that truck. Nice job Dalton 👍
Man, it is inspiring to see a truck done so beautiful without a million dollar rotisserie restoration or we'll lose the shop show, 👍 you're what local legends are made of
I just painted my IROC Camaro last weekend with a cheap siphon feed gun that was spitting exactly like yours. I wasn’t smart enough to stop like you did so I’m re doing it this weekend. The wife found the irony very amusing. We love your channel, thanks for your hard work video editing and sharing with us
Dalton I really like watching your channel. Everyone seems to be doing revivals. However you actually are making something nice out of them! Actually finishing them. Thank you!
I'd drive that sweet K10 with pride! She's coming along very nicely, great job!!!
Hard to believe that was once a step side you could step through 😬 great work man!
Cody Rox - definitely needs a channel! I loves me a stepside - and that is turning out gorgeous!!
You and your brother are awesome together I love when you two get together and work on units. In all honesty, you should be so proud , that truck is beautiful and its just unreal watching your channel mature and evolve. P.S dont worry about us saying anything about that bolt, you never rat on a guy that drives a Jaaaaaag.
Great work, keep on repairing the truck. It is irecognisable from the rusted out snow plow it once was.
Safety tip: Replace the 2 point lap belts with 3 point seat belts. Maybe you can get them from the sacrifice farm truck if they are in good consition. It would be best if they aren't burned through with a welder like the lap belts are. 😂
Keep on making these great videos.
Dalton, the reason I love watching you so much is because of the bolt and glue. It was like a flashback to something I've done not so long ago LMAO. Whatever it takes man. The truck looks amazing. Id be curious what that truck would net after completed. Surely it would vary by region, it would definitely fetch a premium up here in the Northeast.
I think maybe 10-12k
My, my, Dalton, what have you done? You created a new Chevy Sport Truck! That's a road warrior for the next auto show!! Is anybody drooling out there yet??
The Silver Dollar Stepside is looking Fantastic! I'd say it's the Jewel of the truck fleet. Well done sir, Huzzah! Hell of a lot of work is rewarded by what you have now.
I remember this truck from junk yard digs and when I first saw it I was like wow that pickup is gone gone I’m more than impressed with how you brought this thing back to life
your dad mustve taught u really well man, its amazing what youre capable of. hopefully JD carries on this attribute
JD has THE most positive attitude! Keep it up!!
Looks fantastic! I'm really loving this series, and it's always great to see Cody helping out too
Dalton I love this truck cant hardly believe this is the same truck and can’t wait to see it all finished up
I have a feeling people think you have to build it out 2 feet from wherever your ding was using a bucket of mud. It's totally unnecessary if you just follow the contour and also know how to spray primer.. that's kinda key. Also, I'm glad to hear you reiterate short strand glass as a foundation - you can build the strongest house in the world but if it's on a weak foundation, it's just going to crack in a year. GLASS IS STRONG!! You are the man Dalton, thanks for doing the videos.. awesome work!
She looks awesome Dalton, well done
Another great video - from all that rust you have made a really nice pickup good work !
The 76 Scottsdales are special to me. Glad to see one being saved.
Cody definitely needs a channel and would love to see him doing his own projects!
Dude this truck is definitely worthy of coming with you on the next power tour. Right now its a prince among trucks, get it a power tour placard and it will be King.
Keep up the great work man, this truck is looking awesome! Been following the FB posts in awe.
Great video and anything with Cody in just doubles the enjoyment!
Tremendous job you encountered. The videos to the steps of getting the old girl to where she's ready to go down the runway ,I mean hell paint and body shops are outrageous as to their prices. Damn she's ready for the dance. Lipstick and Rouge she's beautiful. Dalton you did a great job . Keep em comming😮😮😮😮😮😊😊😊😊😊😊👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
You're Silver Dollar Chevy looks wonderful! Can't wait to see her all done
Another one knocked out of the park! From wreck to radical!
Wow!!! Black with the natural oak bed pan. Looks great!!!!
I was gonna tell you brother I was just about to give up on my 73 Mach 1. Until I watched you get the holly goat back on the road . It showed me it’s never to late to bring them back from the grave. I’m glad Kevin an Mook hooked up with you. I’m still trying to catch up on all you videos. Awesome content brother !
Wow! Great job, I love that your showing folks it's not all about a checkbook and high end equipment.
Dalton you have the best comedy lines out of any other you tube car channels. All kidding aside you skill and talent with these old trucks and cars is impressive to say the least. Keep up the great work Sir. BTW JD is fortunte to have such a great Dad... God bless you guys.
Dalton, I found your channel because I was looking for people restoring stepside c10s, as I have a 1970 myself. I've watched he'd everything else your channel has to offer, and I'm happy to see this truck approaching completion!
The Stepside bolt 'n glue Silver Dollar edition. What an achievement! Looking sharp. 😉
God dude that looks great, black is one of my favorite vehicle colors. All the new hardware and the wooden floor really add to this, it's been a real pleasure to watch you do this . Attaboy
Love when u and your brother work together u guys have so much fun
You making love to that fender was special..Thanks for the entertainment!!
I’m not even a truck guy, but that thang is beautiful….
Love the videos! Love the humor!
Truck is looking purdy. What a transformation.
How you know this a real guy doing a real project. I know how to do it the right way but I'm tired and burned out and I really want this to be done so I'm going to do it this way.
and that is why I love this channel.
Your commentary sounds a lot like my internal monologue while I'm doing body work. I've picked up a few tricks in these videos that I'm itching to try out. I was glad to see that I'm not the only one who buries distorted sheet metal in fiberglass. It just boils down to making it work with what you got.
Cody is the best secondarily character since Cold war motors Dean.
Dalton I love your channel man I love how your kid helps you and how you keep him involved I like how you keep your brother on your channel he seems like a real good dude and brother keep it up you'll be the next vice grip garage
Wow great job!!
I like that you show how to do things the way a common man would do things at home!!
Looks fantastic for a garage paint job! I think a coat of varnish on the underside of the oak bed boards would seal it against rainwater and help preserve the boards
Cody you need to channel brother! You guys are hilarious this is my favorites channel in the whole wide world 😂💪🏼
I am recording a video now and should have one soon. It will be JCSProjects
WOW, that truck looks f##ing amazing, can not wait to see it finished, the holy goat use to have the best body work but I think you have done brill on a budget, Cody you really need your own channel , love the jag, one of best things to come out of our small island of England 🏴
That wood looks beautiful so the the the parts of the truck you painted looks amazing !
Kudos to you. Dalton, showing Buttina UA-camrs how you can actually finish a project.
How is this the same truck that you guys literally had to dig out of the earth and rust that had fallen off of it
insane, I love it
Dalton , damn son !!!! That truck looks amazing!! You way over delivered on this one !! Can’t wait to see what’s next
That's smart! The washers are cams so you don't need a wrench or pliers to hold the bolt! Sweet.
Cody needs a channel. Silver dollar chevy looks like a million bucks , nice job
Tell you what for doing it old old school the way I saw my neighbor work on cars growing up in the 70s you did a awesome F - ing job young man . Watch you and your brother work together brings back good memories and glad to see you passing the torch of old school to JD 🇺🇸🇺🇸👽☠️👍
Can't believe it's the same truck. Very nice work.
I just started watching your videos a couple weeks ago and I have to say you are an inspiration. I have an 84 Buick t type I bought 3 years ago in pieces and started to lose hope. You have revived my drive to get her done.
Man i had a 79 in high school...to this day i still miss it.
I know all about cutting corners and get a few tips from my neighbor who has a paint shop. Many years ago During the paint process of my 76 Chevy truck a fly landed on a roof and my friend buried It in about an 8th inch thick paint. Talk about high quality workmanship lol
That truck is beautiful! And yes Cody, please start your own channel!
That old bucket turned out amazing! Great work sir!
Bad ass. I gotta switch back to my 68 f100. Been driving my "new" 85 VW golf that was off the road for 13 years. You and junkyard digs give me motivation! Keep it up sir!
The jag and the Van vids are comic gold!!!
That ol thing looks amazing. Dalton you work miracles.
That truck looks awesome! Doing body work takes one hell of a lot of patience, that's why I was never very good at it.
Real Talent!!! 🎊 🎊🎊
Great job Dalton, nothing you do surprises me anymore.
💯 😎 💯
Nice job. Glad to see it saved.
Wow just wow from a rust bucket to a show truck.u my friend know what ur doing most of the time😄! Someday when I'm older this is what I want to do like with UA-cam and my favorite trucks just sitting in a garage and just messing around with them! Under 5k and it looks like that great job!!👍The paint looks so good! See U later!✋
Looking sweet! Glad you survived the storm.
