    Thank's heaps there. I had to hit control+A though on my Poweredge 4600. You made it all so easy. The only thing is I have 3xSeagate and 1 Fujitsu so I could not include the Fujitsu in my Raid 5.
    Thank's again.

    Excellent video lecture, I always wanted to use raid but never found any links on how to configure raid. This video is really good. It makes me understand how raid works and how it represents the drives to the OS.
    Hope to view more videos on raid.

      Schools have their place for education, some institutions do it well and some do not. UA-cam can be helpful in many ways. We hope this channel will add to anyone education path. Thanks for watching and supporting the channel.

    Mr. V, this series of three videos is great. Thank you for making them. I realize they were made years ago and are old, but the technology is pretty much the same and I have always been confused by physical vs logical disks and what an OS actually sees. In my new job I am dealing with Dell servers with PERC and I never knew how to manage it. Thank you. I watch your videos all the time. Good stuff... Joe

    thanks for the tut mate, you have not explained what i need to do exactly, but after watching this, i think i know how, i have Q however, I will not be building a raid array just using my drives independently, i think i have how to achieve this by watching your vid, however will the drives that i use be wiped upon making them single logical drives, thanks again for the tut.

    would you normally install your OS on the array or keep it on its own drive if you starting from scratch?

    • @TechsavvyProductions
      @TechsavvyProductions  3 роки тому

      For most servers I would put my OS on a RAID 1 Mirror and then decide on what RAID for my Applications and Data, here are a few new videos we did on RAID ua-cam.com/video/MxyVSzuw3lg/v-deo.html and also ua-cam.com/video/ZqPxuQ1ibKI/v-deo.html I am using HP but the concepts apply to any brand or model.

      Server OS always make these type changes more challenging. Here is some 3rd party tools : www.diskpart.com/articles/convert-raid-to-gpt-4348.html or www.hdd-tool.com/disk-converter/convert-mbr-to-gpt-windows-server-2016.html (step 3 on this site might work)
