Filing for your Florida Homestead Exemption dealine is March 1st. Let me know if you need assistance. I have attached a link to the Orlannge County Apprapser for your reference.
Question: Let say I have been living in my home for ten years and my property taxes show $100,000 of deferred value, which means that the market value of my home has gone up but my property tax increases were held back at the 3% rate. Now, I want to add an addition to my home. Would the addition trigger a reassessment back to market value? Thanks
Hi that is a great question, I think your taxes would go up after the addtion however I could not say how much. It is best to speak with your county appraiser's office for more specifics.
