It sounds weird, but maybe you can do it.
Since you mentioned that elderblock carbs you installed has power programming & cruising capabilities !💪🏼
Can we see both performance and economical aspect of the rattle-can rod ford engine dyno or on highway cruises?
🙏
Where do you sign up for the giveaway?
@@alim6727 You do know The people in the video aren't reading the comments. This is a rerun from TV that's at least 3 years old. PowerNation just post the video. They have a lot of videos from a lot of seasons
So many ads on the powernation app
When is the give away?
Why, oh, why?
You assembled the entire engine, put in the car, and then the little details, without any disturbing noise (music), then as soon as the engine started, they have to drown out the music of muscle.
What in the heck is the world coming to???
That absolutely PISSED ME OFF 😠😠😠!!! Who does that!?!?!?!?!?
If you listen closely, that engine had a major knock/tick in it. Either the lifters weren't getting pumped up, or it was a rod bearing.
@Cyclone Bravo yeah, regardless you never look as cool in a wanna-be AE86 drifter or hairdresser vert.
More to the point...what is up with their obsession with the trashy, generic metal music in the background all the time... it's literally noise at this point. I'd rather have silence.
Right......WHY
It's about time you see a 33 Ford with a Ford!
Fred Sherman yes. I’m a straight up Ford guy. And when they switch the Ford engine out with mainly a 350 small block. It annoys me. Love the 350, but keep it in the Chevy.
Its multiplying by zero. Never understood guys being simpletons and using an sbc.
Loved the video right up to 17:48, then you went and drowned out the sweet sound of the engine with the overbearing music.
That's was to drowned out the tapping
upupaepops
That sweet sound wasnt so sweet it rattled and pecked they released the pressure off of the lifters and didnt drop them into a bucket of oil and they lost there hydrolic pressure is what im thinking happened also the motor was salvaged from a wrecked mustang the same one they got the stearing column from
Great video, lots of great details about the engine cam and valve train upgrades, echo the other comments that I wish we could more clearly hear that nice Ford V8, it is also great to see this type of car build with a Ford drive train.
finally ford motor in ford body..not LS..keeping the dream alive blue oval well done blokes.......
Love how after startup, the intake filter magically appears, and disappears, through the cuts.
Sounds like a tapping noise while in shop running. Is that why music got turned up ?
They should have put the 351W in it.
@@basshead. I think the idea is that you can do that on yer own! ... I'd EFI it.
Probably dry lifters, they will pump up after a minute
Count to 11, the ticking should stop, if not there's a problem. Oil pressure.?
Yes, a Ford in a Ford, the only way, nice project
Phil Mont what you don't like Ford tough but Chevy stuff no just kidding I agree if you build a Ford it should have a Ford motor I'm a Mopar guy if I build an old Dodge Coupe you know it's going to have a Dodge motor if you like Chevy motors try and find an old Chevy coupe good luck
The only people who put chevy engines in a ford are chevy guys looking for a decent platform.
@@douganderson7002 Hot rodding is taking just what you have in your car and customizing it to make it go faster. Everyone has their own idea of how to go about it. Some people are purists, thinking that you should use the best of what the car's manufacturer had to offer and keeping all the engine upgrade options within the brand. Other people believe that power should just be pursued and have no brand loyalty or preference, just whatever's the most powerful/best performing for their desired application. There isn't any right or wrong way to do it and each has their challenges and interesting solutions/outcomes. Being an asshole to someone for wanting to keep with one brand isn't the way to go though because hot rodding is also about self expression and appreciating what other people have done to make their car an extension of themselves. Putting down someone's desired means of expression goes against really what hot rodding stands for in general. I'm glad that there aren't many people like you out there, the world's better off without everyone being complete assholes to everyone else for no reason.
Great video , I really enjoyed it , it brings back memories . thank you all .
Everyone always has something to complain about......I love the car and Its great to see how these guys make it look so so easy!! Makes me believe that someday I can own one. Keep up the good work gents!
Felipe Saldana I think episode 1 of this series it said something like an average of 400-500 man hours to assembly the chassis & body. That’s like two months of 8 hour days 7 days a week. Must be why they had an entire crew.
ProPerformanceNutrition.com
I think you guys do a great job showing that it can be done! That the beauty of it by no means is this a over night task but I like the build and don’t understand how most people here all they could comment was the music toward the end. Still great job!!
Nice job and nice ride. Blessings to all of you.
at 18:40 did i see a slight look of panic in their faces lol
Valve covers in oven set at 375 for 20 min nice and glossy. Works great. Thanks peace
13:50 coil mounted to block for extra heat and vibration.
Well everyone knows the hotter the coil is the better the spark and performance is. It goes great with the engine knock they had whoever wins that car I'm sure won't have to fix anything. Also went with top shelf paint I mean what in the world could possibly go wrong?
That's where the were from the factory
@@motorised1 yes i know, but that doesn't make it the best choice.
That's the factory location on my '75 with a 302, and I haven't had a single problem out of the coil that I put on it 20 years ago. 🤔
Damn you can hear that engine ticking away on start up even over the music to cover that up!
New build... you have to give it time for the oil to get pumped through it...
Count to 11 and the ticking should disappear. If not there's a problem.
Great job love your work and detailing 👌👌👌
Finally a Ford in a Ford
Yeah but if your broke like me ls is the way to go cause a 5.3 ls is like 300$ or less at the junkyard
Can find 302.fords for $100 at junk yards that run excellent, but that's right you can buy chevies so much cheaper. At least that's the crap we've been fed. L.o.l
@@bigblockstang9368 yeah 302s are cheap but 5.3 can handle more horsepower and has more horsepower stock
@@Cherokee93 If you cant afford it...then save....no need to deface a vehicle
@@xbox627 if ya own it you can do whatever you want to it
It's nice to see a Ford small-block being used instead of a crappy Chevy short block
I loved this build simple yet perfect like to have one of this, but only in my dreams. good job guys....👏👏
Man I love this channel sooooooo much keep doing them boys
8:40 *rolling in with a transmission on a somewhat skateboard* hey good to see you (like they just walked in .Men i love this acting for tv)😂😂
I can’t wait to build this!
Very Nice. Thank you for sharing.
Quite the powerhouse those E3's are. Threw some in my garbage can and never went back.
Nice work you guys kicked but . Love the car wish had it love to drive it looks like fun.
Hi, here from England, wishing up on one Star, all the best to all.
That's one beutiful build! Love the blue accents! Daddy like 😎
My dad had one of those back in the '40s, it was called it an A-V8
They forgot to install the distributor at 180 and incorrect fire order for some start up drama
Thank you for putting a ford engine into a ford ( fact. five anyway ) The gods smile upon you today.
Hope you fixed that noisy lifter before the giveaway! Nice try with the music and everybody yelling at each other to cover it up tho'. Beautiful car. Always been one of my favorites. I did enjoy watching the build.
Beautiful. A very well made video
🥝🇳🇿😊
Very nice build guys. Very cool car. I would like to point one thing out, you forgot the aluminum plate that goes behind the motor before you put on the flyweel. It works with the trans inspection cover to cover up the converter. the starter may not engage properly.
I was surprised by the space frame construction. Was not aware there was anything like that available for hot rods.
It's a Factory Five and you need to get out more. They also make a '33 Coupe built the same way.
@@dj4monie I have heard of the company and just figured "it's just another kit car company". I had seen postings on Bringatrailer under "replica Cobra" but had not looked into it as I was just "browsing" the current values of replicas.
BTW, I do get out . . . lots.
Too much in fact, but that is business related not R&R.
Nice build
Awesome informational educational video experience Y'alls God Bless Ya 🙏
A very Nice car, wish i have it in my garage 😊👍from Sweden
Wow you guys made it way to easy! Sign me up this will look awsome in my garage and at the local speedway.
Filmed in 2015, you kiss a$$.
These guys are great for marketing parts it's like an ongoing commercial also E3 plugs I consider garbage but I guess if they're free you can run them for the first 5000 miles
Nice job 👍
Why would you play music over the sound of the first start up? Ruined the entire episode for me!
I agree 100% And if you look and find my post I think you'll agree with it too
I thought the exact same thing...that was upsetting....
Beautiful like the color, still waiting for a email about purchasing a complete frame
17:48 don't forget to add the music in the background to cover up the massive exhaust leak noise.
Everything you guys do is absolutely top-drawer. Wish I had the tools you birds do. Do I want to win this build? More than you know. Why no dyno test on engine?
Ford designed it they should power it. Thank you for your engine choice. Judging by the majority of the comments here it appears I'm not the only one who feels that way.
Beautiful
Mike and Pat forget the separator plate behind flywheel... also did not mention checking the torque convertor depth into the pump housing to make sure the pump has maximum engagement without bottoming. I expect the separator plate missing would put the convertor deeper into the pump, so who knows? If the torque convertor bottoms out. the pump will start making metal pretty fast....
VERY NICE!!!
I used VHP Flame Proof coating on my headers in my Jeep CJ-5 360 AMC V8. I followed the directions to a T and within a year it was flaking, discolored a horrible looking. The VHP ceramic engine coating and the primer underneath it began flaking off around the same time. My once gorgeous engine looked horrible within a year of my ground up custom CJ build. $26,000 invested in parts and supplies building my jeep only to have to remove the engine within a year and strip the remaining paint and start over. I used a different paint brand on the engine the 2nd time and it still looks fantastic 5 years later. I did have the headers professionally ceramic coated the 2nd time rather than going the DIY route and rattle can coating over them again. My engine looks amazing and I discovered its a couple hundred dollars cheaper to buy uncoated headers and send them to be ceramic coated professionally than it is to buy ceramic coated headers to begin with. In fact my headers are coated inside as well as out and look amazing as well as they cut the heat down in my engine compartment dramatically compared to when they had the VHP Flame proof coating on them. I have a set of ceramic coated Doug Thorley headers on my 55 Fairlane 351 W and the difference in the Doug Thorley coated headers and the Summit racing headers I had coated is significant. The price comparison of buying a pair of AMC V8 Doug Thorley ceramic coated headers vs doing what I did and having the plain steel headers coated I had already bought and self coated from Summit Racing was $243 dollars after I had them professionally coated. Heck of a deal. They look and work excellent and saved me some loot to boot !
Dupli Color spray cans do work, I just replaced the fenders and rocker panels on an 03 jeep, in black metallic. Jeep dealer paint would cost a lot more money, if they even have 03 colors, it looks great.
That guy going crazy in the oil filter.. 😂
Nice video guys! Don't listen to the haters. You've gotten a new subber!
An ultra modern hot rod package that one lucky viewer will win! 6 years ago...
No separator plate between the bellhousing and block?
alternatively if you dont want to be as flash you can just use a junkyard LS and 4l80 trans. L99 makes more power than this in stock form and can be found for pretty cheap with low miles.
Old Henry would crap his pants while riding in that one!!!
Looks nice. Don't want to get it dirty.
Headers get hot.... who knew.... lol 😂
sandblast followed by thumbs all over it
It was easier to build the car than the drivetrain. I love this thing
300 straight six with a tri-power intake and three double barrel Holleys, deep dish wire wheels on white walls, and a matching hard top, Thats what I'm gonna do.
That car would be a dream to drive
Normally, I'm NOT a Ford fan. However, looking at this? I. Want. This. Car.
1000cfm seems like a whole lot of carburetion for a relatively mild 302...
Actually even a mild 302 can handle a 780 3310 Holley no problem, they like being over carbureted. An Edelbrock 500 has smaller front barrels 200 cfm front, 300 cfm back so normal driving is like 400 cfm because the secondaries only open under extreme acceleration. but I do agree, I would have put two Holley 390's on there.
@@lesliegee42069 It's okay, it's not overpowering. There is a guy with a twin turbo 302 in a FFR Cobra and it runs low 10's with LITTLE effort (8 psi). Big power in this chassis is nothing, fully tube but it's budget oriented, the dual quads are for looks.
Autojones
The cfm for a 302 is around 600 its pretty much 2 times the cubic inch for the cfm the rest you dial in by jets 1000 cfm is so much overkill its crazy but im sure they have one of them restricted and its also obvious that both carbs are not double pumps and are jetted down
Man scuff'in up that chrome was giving me a panic attack. Lol
Cool car
Ive had lots of good results using that paint. if you put in on right, itll last a long time and is tough
GREAT JOB GUYS !!
Nice, realistic, build for the average hot rodder. Some of you don't get it. No, they didn't paint everything with a spray bomb. Having painted a car ,( and a couple motorcycles ), with cans, you REALLY would not like the final results. Personally, I would have done a few things different. But, this was all about budget. Still, there's a lot of nice stuff here. And it's easily upgraded or changed. So, enjoy it for what it is. Quit complaining. They are trying to teach / show us what is possible on a budget. Build your own......
I still can't stop thinking about that 500 horsepower 347 stroker they built a few episodes back. With a manual transmission. But , that's just me. 👍😎
Music from hell. Been waiting to hear it fire up.
I wonder if this car had any adhesion issues after doing the long term. I've always had problems with aluminum and zinc plated stuff and have been using (toxic) Zinc Chromate Primer for so long I donno what the modern paints are capable of! Thank You,
awesome
Some well trained ears out there. Lifter tap at start-up drowned out by their infernal music. Oh well, I'm not the producer, so . . .
Overall this is a very informative great video. Just a few wishes to add to the really good information. First, not even a mention let alone any guidance torquing bolts when assembling. Second would really like some commentary on costs.
Steven Perlman
When torgue was required they mentioned it. Unless your referring to torgue of the frame and accessories they are just tightened as needed
the sweet symphonic sounds of a typical ford valvetrain...wheeeeeeee. lol
8:59 ... 3k stall, that may seem high, but dont question it. YES SIR! o_0
I want one…make that two!
Классную машинку построили. молодцы. интересно у Вас
Very Good!... 396 🐄🦉🏴☠✝
14:13 "E3 DiamondFire Spark plugs".... them boys must be paying you quite a bit of money to keep installing that garbage in good engines.
LOL
Michael Free It seems odd to me that these shows have been pushing E3 for probably a decade, but I’ve have never known anyone who runs them & have never heard anyone even talk about them. I’ve never seen them at the parts store either.
@@Properformancenutritioncom ran them in ford 4.9L and they would foul out after about 1000 miles so didn't work for me.
BLM Hawkeye Good info. I don’t plan on trying them. I don’t think you’d be able to know if they make a difference unless you put your motor on the dyno. 99% of people will never do that.
Michael Free They are lol
Fire it up... immediately plays loud obnoxious music so you can’t hear the engine.😡
The valvetrain sounds like one of those rattle paint cans, ASE certified mechanics.....lol
Moontank Thrill
That's funny as hell!!!
No engine plate before the flexplate huh? It’s absence could make for a noisy starter engagement...
Keith Hastings They film mockup up for the show. Then the engine is actually assembled by a pro. I've worked behind the scenes for these shows before.
This car should have a 6 speed manual transmission and not a automatic.
I'm a chevy guy and it doesnt hurt seeing a ford in a ford, not like other guys that cry seeing a chevy in a ford
Fascinating video.
Does this kit come with a RHD option? Are there any wheel flares or mud Guards that can be fitted? The wheels MUST have some cover on them here, to protect pedestrians. That is, the tyres can not protrude out beyond the body of the car.
I am in Oceania - that's Australia and New Zealand, plus some of the Pacific. Getting a newly-built car registered here means it has to meet new car registration legislation. That also includes mufflers for noise reduction and pollutant suppression.
Having ABS, ESC and a couple of Airbags hooked up is also required.
I dont recall you covering that in this video?
Finally, is there any crash test analysis data available for any of these car kits?
No clue as to who won this little "trick" pony?!? Lucky SOB, whoever drives it now. Give me a team of mechanics and see what I could accomplish. Dang! I'm lucky if I can find anybody to help me when I need it - usually my sister, when she has time. lol
Hahaha I totally feel you. I have to come up with some inventive ideas when I don't have help would love to just have 1 week in there shop and part locker and thier help. Could accomplish ao much hahaha
Literally my dream to have one! Lol one day
First time watching this project, didn't have sound on, saw those two guys lifting that dummy engine... (Had to stop for a while to wonder how strong they are).
Hulk smash. Lol
Love small blocks...I know, I'm not a whiner but for me, a 289 would have been really cool...
What is so special about the 289???? Nothing really rose colored glasses. There is a reason why Ford went with the thin wall 302. It's durable and has plenty of support unlike the 289 which Ford dropped after 1967. Man people and they nosalga never disappoints to amaze me. The original whiners like you are now 80...
@@dj4monie tony, blow me.....
Why no separator place between the trans and engine?
Don't question them guus... they know what there doing
Such a cool car! Somebody is going to be very happy. How does the sweepstakes work?
It was already won back in 2015
Lol
This was won back in 2015
It would look even better with a hood and some fenders LOL
Hit it!
I could build this in my garage...yeah right!
Amish Mike finally has a car that matches his ultra cool demeanour
Extruded billet? Thats a new one. I think its either extruded OR billet.
Cost and links would be nice on these types of builds.
You guys forgot the plate between the engine and transmission. I saw it when you put the two together and when you put the starter on.
Why was no starter alignment plate used that not only precisely locates the starter but also acts as a dust shield for the front trans seal and starter drive?
