Bought 10 months ago this machine. Everlast send it to Holland, cause that's where I live. Got it in 6 day's... Had some trouble to get the right fitting for the gas cylinder, since in holland we have different connection. Changed the power lead, and made it a little bit longer..... Used it for all options. Magnificent machine for the Allrounder. Did some small construction works, SS tig, aluminum AC welding. Although it took some time to master the settings, but now I've got the hack of it, perfect.....
That MTS 225 is brilliant: AC/DC TIG, MIG and Stick, plus those extra AC waveforms on TIG, which makes it an "advanced-featured" TIG machine too (love the added Triangle wave on my 210EXT for thinner aluminum). But, yeah, the arc starts and stability on AC and DC look great! ROCK ON, Everlast!

Hi, I have this machine and I can tell that is not the delivered torch( I have the optional flex cord one), it would be great to share what torch and consumables are you using ( for me at least, since I am a beginner and in a struggle when it comes to Aluminum, haven’t succeeded yet a nice bead on Aluminum, so frustrating..) any way, nice info you shared, hope I can see more about this machine in the future. Thanks
Hi George, on the SS he was using a Fupa#12 Furick Gas Lens set up or a Mooseknucle 14 (it looked huge - maybe even a BBW ! ; that was no jazzy cup 10 ) and his argon I'm sure was turned (way) up: probably +25 to 30 cfh ; on the AL, it looked like a standard long collet body, probably a #5 long ceramic cup. The Furick cups (gas lens) will really help your SS welding. You mentioned having trouble with AL. ; I use a short gas lens set up with a #5 cup and 20cfh of argon - it works great! (I have a EL 210 EXT) . furickcup.com/furickshop/
I just got the Lightning MTS225 I checked DC then AC then I went through the power set feature and they were right on (be sure to change over your work clamp ground). Also when starting the arc hammer down on the pedal fast to establish your puddle and move.

Update on how this machine is working?
¡soy el afortunado propietario de everlast MTS 225 ! el aparato es sólo un espacio . hola desde Rusia
Hi. Nice machine but could I weld stick AC?
I would love to own the Everlast Lightning MTS 225 or the Lightning MTS 275
Can one carbon arc gouge with your machines?
What start do you recommend tig welding next to a modern car with multiple computers?(lift start or hf)
If you're not welding on the car itself, and the car is not grounded to your weld table/part, you have nothing to worry about with HF start.
