    Really good video…. thanks! A few questions:
    1. Are you still happy with it?
    2. Have you had to call Everlast with any questions and if so, how was there response?
    3. Any personal experience (or experience that others have told you about) regarding how much help they offer with troubleshooting during the warranty. and how hard it is to make a warranty claim, get replacement warranty, parts, etc.?

      Thanks much appreciated.
      1. Yes still happy with this unit. Going to try and get a 1-year video out soon with more updated info but still enjoying everything about it.
      2. I have not had to call everlast with questions about this unit but I have reached out about other products and questions which they have been very responsive about and friendly to deal with.
      3. No personal experience with anything warranty related as I have not had any issues with my unit. If there warranty department is anything like their customer service and tech department I would imagine it would be easy to deal with but fingers crossed I never have to deal with them if possible LOL.

      @@MadGreekOff-Road , Thanks for the lighting fast feedback!!!! You’re awesome. I’ve been a mechanical engineer for 40 years, but very limited welding experience and only one 4-hour hands-on MIG and one similar class on TIG and advice from friends. Also limited shop space and wanted to buy a “one and done” rig with a bottle of Ar and a bottle of 75/25 and be able to do MIG/TIG/ Occasional stick on steel, AL, & stainless for home, etc. projects. this seemed the best choice under $2500 for the basic MTS unit.

      No worries 🤘🏼 Like you I also have limited space at the moment and needed a unit that was versatile. Both the 225 & 275 are great options for what they offer in both capability & price. So far after using this unit for a full year overall I’m very happy with it. Good luck with your welder search/purchase!

      @@MadGreekOff-Road , I’ll pulled the trigger on the MTS225, thanks in part to your good advice/experience😁. It should be here in less than a week. Now I’ve gotta get a cart and more. Do you know the max dimensions of the base so I can go cart shopping🤷?

    • @MadGreekOff-Road
      @MadGreekOff-Road  Рік тому

      Awesome! Congrats!! You’ll have to let me know how you like it once you get to using it a bit. Bottom dimensions are 26” x 11” so you’ll definitely want a cart with a large enough footprint as well as stout enough to hold the weight as this welder comes in at 70lbs.

    Awesome video! I wanted to ask if you have had any problem with the welder yet? I am in the market for one and curious if you have had any issues yet. Thanks!

    How well do you think his would fit on the harbor freight Vulcan cart? I would like to get this mts 225 for fabricating piping and such on my diesel race truck. Definitely would like a big cart with drawers to store all the consumables.

    • @MadGreekOff-Road
      @MadGreekOff-Road  Рік тому +2

      Not sure on the dimensions of your current cart but you can pull the exact dimensions of this welder from the everlast site. I had to slightly modify the cart I currently have in this video to fit it but I plan on making a custom cart anyways. It’s a fairly heavy unit coming in a little over 100lbs including torches, ground clamp etc and most of the cheap carts are made pretty flimsy so you would definitely want to either purchase an upgraded cart or better yet use this awesome welder and fab one of your very own 😎🤘🏼

      @@MadGreekOff-Road 33 1/2” tall, 48 3/4” long, 25 1/2” wide. Welder is 26x11x16 so I’m assuming that’s length, width, and height. I think it would fit on the Vulcan cart, it definitely seems to be a good purchase as it has a 400lb capacity and can carry two tanks at once. It has 3 drawers for storage and one cabinet for storage as well. I would say you could possibly fit a plasma cutter on top with the mts225. That will be my ultimate setup! Thanks for the video!

      Awesome man! Definitely sounds like the cart you have should work perfectly! I’m gonna get an everlast plasma cutter soon hence why I also need to upgrade my current cart setup to fit that as well. Glad you liked the video! Thanks for the support! 🤘🏼

    How is the duty cycle? I’m thinking of ditching my little esab rebel MiG (em215) to upgrade to this, any thoughts?

    • @MadGreekOff-Road
      @MadGreekOff-Road  Рік тому +1

      I think the duty cycle on this unit is pretty competitive esp when TIG welding. For example when using 240V TIG welding you get a 160A/16.4V at 100% duty cycle. And a 200A/18v at 60% duty cycle. Number drops down when using the MIG at 240V obviously. You get a 160A/22V at 60% duty cycle. All in all I love the unit.

    The welder next to you is the MTS 275 but video description says 225?

    • @MadGreekOff-Road
      @MadGreekOff-Road  4 місяці тому

      It’s a 225. Was a factory misprint and I got a discount on it because of it 😁

  • @Garrettmoyer18
    @Garrettmoyer18 Рік тому +1

    So your mts 275 looks totally different then what they advertise on the website . Yours looks smaller more like the 225 . Did they upgrade the 275 and make it smaller ? If so I’m for sure buying the mts275 ! Is it still holding up good for your ? You ever have to worry about stopping and letting it cook down or do you not worry about it and just weld .

    • @MadGreekOff-Road
      @MadGreekOff-Road  Рік тому

      So my unit is the 225. The 275 you see on it was a factory misprint but I got a bit of a discount on the new unit because of it which was sweet. As far as duty cycle on this unit is pretty competitive esp when TIG welding. For example when using 240V TIG welding you get a 160A/16.4V at 100% duty cycle. And a 200A/18v at 60% duty cycle. Number drops down when using the MIG at 240V obviously. You get a 160A/22V at 60% duty cycle. I have not ran into any issues as of yet where the machine has over heated from some of the projects I have done. The dual fans help keep the machine cool but they are loud lol.

    • @Garrettmoyer18
      @Garrettmoyer18 Рік тому +1

      Ok that makes sense lol it was throwing me off I like the size more of the 225 for being portable . Didn’t know if I would need the 275 for running the wire more though , I myself want to get into the tig I’m just a stick/wire welder right now . Just for hobby and future fabrication or mobile repair and get a decent generator . If you think the 225 would handle the wire then I might just get that .

    • @MadGreekOff-Road
      @MadGreekOff-Road  Рік тому +1

      @@Garrettmoyer18 yea that one has thrown a few people off. Probably should have mentioned it in my video but hindsight on my part haha. I like the size of the unit. It’s pretty big as it is and the 275 is even bigger which I didn’t want. In general I’m happy with the duty cycle the unit offers between MIG/TIG and lately I have been doing a lot more TIG welding for some good duration and it’s handled what I’ve thrown at it with no issues.

      If you read the 2 column on line specs for 225 and 275, you will note that for 225 they first mention only DC TIG, then farther down the column, full exposition on AC & DC TIG, similar to the 275. These guys need a documentation QC person!!
