- This is a Japanese Bike Shop Tour of the Trek Bicycle Store in Japan (Hoshigaoka Terrace, Nagoya).

Many bicycle shops in Japan carry a large range of different bike brands, but this is a dedicated Trek store with only Trek bikes. They just got some fresh stock of new 2021 Trek bikes, including the emonda slr, domane, and more!

That's a rare sight at the moment in the UK a bike shop with actual bikes to sell. People have gone bike crazy during the pandemic and bought everything.
Same here in Indonesia, you need to put 1-2 months pre-order in the most bike store, some people sell their year old $1000 bike for $1500 instantly 😂

Same down under in Australia. Hope people keep up a more healthy lifestyle once this is all over.
Same in Philippines but except for the expensive and more racing type because they buy comfy and affordable one

What a coincidence that a found this channel. Pretty much I have two hobbies in my life Cycling and Learning Japanese. I have been learning Japanese for 1 and ½ months now and I pretty much have been obsessed by it. Just like you I want to live in Japan because of the cycling culture there. Right now I don't really intend to pursue cycling as a lifetime job because it's pretty expensive but you really inspire me to pursue my hobbies.

For the past 10 years I have been crashed so many times and last months happened again. I was like I am going to quit riding a road bike and get into touring bike.
After saw the Domane SL with 38c, that make me thinking of getting this bike instead of adventure bike.

I have the roscoe 7. The plus size tires make it nice and stable hardtail, excellent for ripping. It also has rack/kickstand mounts so can be a great option for touring.

Thanks for showing the Trek store. It’s way bigger than the stores we have in Tokyo. I love my “dough-ma-ne” SL5 in purple flip although the new Emonda has me lusting over the new changes they made.

Wow Trek stepped ip their paint game. I remember when all treks were red or black. I think the step through ebikes are becoming more popular because some people have a hard time getting on the bike especially if the have a loaded down rack in the back Interesting that Trek doesn’t have a bike with a carbon belt drive
I remember those days 😂 The new models are looking very nice.
I'd definitely much rather have an ebike with a belt drive, but still only a few making them so far..

I have just bought a Marlin 7 (colour is two toned yellow and red). I am totally in love with it. My previous bike was a Marlin 5. The Marlin 7 is so much better 😊
What makes it that much better? I’m curious because I am looking for a Trek Marlin.
@@Hoyasaxa30 Sorry for the late reply. All gears are on the rear, which I think is much easier. It is also easier on hill climbs. I am not sure why, maybe gear ratios? I do rate the Trek Marlin bikes for entry level MTB. I do think if you can go to the Marlin 7 that is the way to go. Good luck with your new purchase.
Ive got a trek roscoe 8, about 1800 stock, and I love it, fat tires are awesome, go anywhere in relative comfort.

I actually ride a rosco with the plus size tires. I love it for winter riding the extra wide seems to really help and yes it is very comfortable to ride
The rainbow one was cute. And I have to agree on white bikes. And matte bikes. I had a white matte one and now a black matte one... The white showed less crap, go figure. Same brand too. I guess I cleaned it more often but the black looks all dusty after one ride.

Bontrager is owned by Trek, so it’s no suprise you find lots of Bontrager parts in a Trek shop 👍

Awesome that Trek bikes are in stock in Japan. In Hawaii and mainland US (from what I hear) bikes are completely out of stock or backordered for months because of pandemic bicycle surge purchases. Thanks for vid!

My local bike chain in the US was bought out by Trek and will be Trek stores within a couple of months, so this is cool to see! I am going to get a Domane. I can’t wait to visit Japan someday and hopefully bike there, as well. Can’t wait for the video. I know it’ll be great.

Oh! Trek Bike Store in Japan! Nice! Jealous of the Starter Pack. The Trek store I went to doesn't offer that.
Just got my hands on the xcaliber 9 and it's so cool
at 1:27 you'll see the absolutely beautiful Emonda ALR 5 in Purple Flip closest to the wall. the colourway is iridescent irl and in different light you'll see either purple or blue. it's really, really stunning for a mid-range bike and i fell in love with it so hard that i got mine in Singapore in October! Trek bikes have really gone up a notch in terms of their design offerings all throughout their lines. very worth it.
Would love to see you guys do a fat bike review! They seem hard to find but if there were some in a shop there that would be a fun video

I have a Fat tire bike. 4.8inch wide tires its really fun in the snow. Compares to my regular mtb its slow in the summer.
I love snow MTB riding and really want to try it with fat bikes one day. With Thuong of course :)

I always enjoy seeing what bike shops have to offer, so these are great. Also a good reminder for when we get to visit, since it works as another spot to pick up omiyage for family, friends or yourself. I'm a proud owner of the upgraded Domane. (I like pronouncing it as do-mah-neh) If money were no object, Trek Project One allows you to custom paint your bike, which includes that sparkly black paint job (ICON / Holographic Diamond Flake is the color name)

Just bought a Domane SL 6 from the Trek shop in Kyoto. Great staff there. Also bought the new Aeolus 37 wheel set so gonna put them on in September. Let me know if you’re ever in Kyoto and I can show you some good places.

Those are good discounts on the sale accessory items!
Fat tires are fun and very compliant for rough roads, bumps or hopping curbs without worrying about damage. They are slower and require more energy. I would recommend 40-42mm tires for street use with no knobbies and some tread. For touring, I would recommend wider tires (32-38) even though they are less efficent because in the ergonomics of long distance, bumps on thin tires will wear you down and get you prematurely exhausted especially with all your luggage and supplies. Disc brakes though slightly heavier, offer you all weather stopping power even in rain. And if you potato chip your wheel, as long as it passes through the fork/stays, you can ride it to the next repair shop. A few years ago I had some issues with a first generation wireless Bontrager light system and unfortunately there were no Trek brand stores or reps north of Tokyo :( Things may have changed.
Not as popular there maybe, Adventure bikes and gravel bikes are popular with bikepackers in the USA. I used my trusty Trek 920 to cycle from Okinawa to Cape Soya (shameless plug!).
You should consider visiting 'Circles' of Nagoya, they are more hipster with custom brands and though selling most everything, they seem more dedicated to cycle touring/Camping.

Good prices. The mountain bikes are for trails, sticks, dirt, rocks, mud.
Trek bikes are really good value in South Korea. That FX3 is about 70,000 JPY there, as opposed to 82,000. Prices seem to have gone up a lot though. When I got my FX 3 disc last year, it was the equivalent of 62,000 JPY.

Cool, I like to take vacations and visit the bike shops. I like that they have a branded t-shirt. Also, for filming I suggest an EMTB just because pedal bob means nothing and it is tough enough to do anything and help you carry your gear.

Love all your videos! I ordered a bike from Priority with a carbon belt dive and I just got my Knog Oi Luxe bell (there were some around 4:27) and I really like it. Can't wait for my new bike to arrive so I can put it on. Looks great and has a nice solid tone to it instead of the dissonance you get with the Spurcycle I also considered.

The frame mounted headlight is no beuno. I did a twenty four hour race back in the day and mounted a light on the top tube. The beam wanders around the road with a lag to the hand around input. It’s hard to explain how strange it is but trust me. Mount the headlight on the handlebars.
