This is more of a boutique bike shop for misinformed customers who know nothing about bikes sadly I think it is great place to pay way to much for very little. Truth is found through wisdom and experience not fancy store fronts.
@Mathias Jaxson i really appreciate your reply. I got to the site through google and im in the hacking process atm. I see it takes quite some time so I will get back to you later with my results.
*Looked at a lot of options for getting my **Latest.Bike** . Great find in SAVA. Super light, nice components, really good value as it comes with many options only found in much higher priced bikes.*
Definitely the left Pinarello out of those two. The colour scheme is a bit nicer I think, and it has disc brakes. I used to be into fully white bikes when I was younger but now in my 30s I would only get white if it was mixed with a lot of black components. My first road bike was a Specialized Allez with white frame, fork, stem, bar tape. The whole thing. And I love single speeds. I feel like I miss having a full sized single speed. The Brompton single speed is great but doesn’t feel quite the same. But I can’t have 10 bikes. Got to be somewhat responsible. Also great to see Victor on the channel.
The balance bikes are becoming really popular here in Canada. They are great for kids to learn to practice as well my daughter has down syndrome and at first didnt have the muscle or the understanding of how to pedal, so the balance bike was perfect
To pick a bike for commuting, it depends 95% on the road you ride on. Pick the bike type that suits your daily road condition.... Roughness, slope, wetness, dirt, etc. Really enjoy this video a lot. 👍👍
Balance bikes are very popular in North America as well. For young kids to run with their balance bikes with their legs, it helps with them learning how to balance on the bikes and when they transition to pedal bikes, they can easily transition to them without relying on training wheels. Worked like a charm with my daughter!
“Sold” it’s a sales tactic sometimes lol In my shop we have two sold bikes, the customer sometimes don’t have the men’s to get the bike home, car is too small or something Extra bikes section could be where repair bikes go Great shop Cool video!
Pleasant shopping tour! Always amazed by the trendy jerseys. Although living in Belgium, a pure cycling country, there is no such variety. Also, never seen the mini-bikes. And seems quite some stock available. All bikes are sold out over here with nearly 1 year pre-order. Thanks Cruise and take care 👍
Great bike shop, good choice for Victor, I’m a trek aficionado, all my bikes are treks, one of them is a 2012 7.7 FX so you cannot go wrong with the FX series, I use that for my daily commute to work, also own the Èmonda SLR 6 in matte black love that one, it’s my go to weekend warrior...as always, love your content...
That rim spike light is awesome. My commuter is a Bianchi road bike that was modified into a gravel. I live in LA and take hills to and fro work. When I move to Japan, I'll buy a new bike as I've had this ride, Nimbus, for many years. Thanks again for the video.
In CT, most the local bike shops will do a fitting and tune up before you take it home. I like that, since it is a personal touch and attention to details.
Balance bikes are super popular in Sweden, taking over from three-wheel bikes. My oldest kid transfered from his balance bike to a regular 12" bike without the pedals in about an hour, and then we could mount the pedals after a few hours more :)
I always love your videos when you feature bike shops ! It's like window shopping haha Those balance bikes are also popular in Taiwan, i saw some kids racing with it
I have 2 different commuting bikes since I live in Canada and have pretty harsh winters i have a plus size hardtail that I switched the bars to drop bars and for summer I ride a hybrid bike the I switched to dropbars. I did the switches before all these cross bikes and such really became popular.
The left pinarello coz it’s with disc brakes. Every time I watch these bike shop videos makes me feel so envious of the fantastic stock Japan has. In my neck of the woods I think bike shops only have 1/3 of Japan has... 🥲. great video anyway love these bike shop visits.
4:42 That's the Canton Graubünden flag! My home canton in Switzerland! Your weird goat is a capricorn 😀 Why do they have our flag on these bikes? Amazing! Thanks for showing us. Cheers. (btw: Graubünden is bike heaven and a really nice place to live, just saying 😉)
facebook.com/BrunoBikePH According to their Facebook account: "Bruno Bike is design with Switzerland philosophy. Combination of vintage or classic bicycle characteristics and modern technologies. Imported from Japan" Whatever that's supposed to mean.
They have balance bikes here in Canada as well. Bought my daughter a Strider 14x with pedal attachment. She learned how to ride with pedals within 3 months at age 3 years old. Kids her age and older are still with training wheels.
bike store video is never long enough XD More Thoung questions in bike stores, always have a funny view on things. I think i have seen you're friend on his channel a long time ago, he was getting haircuts and shaves, kinda ASMR like videos.
Might have to start making them longer haha. Victor has been doing YT videos here for over 10 years, he does a haircut ASMR channel as well too "ASMR sounds of Japan"
I heard trailers are illegal in Japan but foreigners don’t care lol. What a drool worthy shop, so hard not to spend money on cycling. Thanks for the video
@@mikechan1720 Those sell like pancakes here in my country lol, even if they range for like 1500-2000USD. Prices of bikes went up like crazy because of the pandemic hahaha
I'm up for vanlife after I leave Japan by the way like you man haha. I did it for a few years before starting a Job in Japan last year, this corona thing has made it tough to do things here in Japan. I'm in Morioka Iwate now.
showing my (lack of) age here but i would go for the right side pinarello any day of the week! my favourite thing in the shop was the gorgeous white trek emonda sl7 frame with the blue decals! commuting is to be done on the road bike! other than that, just wanted to tell u that the video was really fun, just like the rest of the bike shop series. take care!
I am a big Trek fan I have a 2021 Fuel EX 9.8 and a 2019 Marlin 7 and for city urban commute I use have a SE Bikes Beast Mode single speed BMX with 29 inch wheels
Wow, teaming up with one of the OG Japan UA-camrs! It's always interesting to see display bikes with no bar tape - do they let you pick if you buy it? I recently got a suspension stem for my cross bike, since I've been riding more fire roads and singletrack on it lately and not cross. I had to sell my mountain bike a while ago, and I sure do miss my Marzocchi Bombers when I'm on the trails! My neighbour's daughter has a little balance bike. She's about 3-4 years old. She's just learning to balance and sit on a bike, and it's easier for her to put her feet down, and isn't totally comfortable yet, so she can also push herself along with her feet. It's adorable to watch her scoot around.
It's been a while since Victor and I met up, it was a lot of fun :) I used to watch him before moving here. I think you can get different bar tape, but will have to pay extra.
Nice tour i am a noob when it comes to bikes so your videos give alot of good information. I like the red bike on the right. I don't know if it was the lighting but it looked like a brighter red than the other one. Also here in the US the bikes come with training wheels and then you get them taken off when it is time for you to learn how to balance lol. So balance bikes isn't really a thing over here. Great video.
Makes me wanna robe a bank just looking at all those branded bikes 😍😂 And for me i like XC mtb but I'm begging to branch off to road bike may buy a gravel type.
I'm eyeing Diverge to probably be my next bike. Will need to sell the road bike first though and save up. Maybe by next year, we might see the future shock 2 that on the higher end versions trickle down to the aluminum frame. Keeping fingers crossed.
Some Top End bikes from Trek are made by Giant in Taiwan, such as Project One's customed bike frame. But these frames, bike parts, Bontrager tires will be sent to Warerloo, Wisconsin for assemblying and packing up for shipment worldwide.
That bike shop is amazing! I'm looking at getting a new cross or road or hybrid bike myself right now, and it's a struggle because of the pandemic. I took a look at that exact Trek FX myself. The Giant FastRoad Advanced 1 is also an amazing bike; Carbon Fibre frame/fork, Shimano 105 Groupset, hydraulic disc brakes. If only there were some in stock in Canada 😔
That TREK FX2 is amazing...but I love GT Bikes because of the Triple Triangle design. Is there a GT only bike shop in Japan? What is the popular bike brand in Japan other than TREK? I feel lucky I got to know your channel, I love bicycles and your videos are so amazing, I feel like I'm already touring Japan. Keep it up TWC!
Another great video. Love the bike shop tours. Vic was looking at a nice orange bike before deciding on the black bike. Not into a black bike, but, of course, it’s Vic’s choice. Specialized Diverge E5 is a gravel bike. I wanted to get the Diverge E5 Comp last year (well I wanted a Orbea Terra but out of Santa's budget!). but the wait time was way too long, so I ended up with my Trek X Caliber 7.
As per the owner of my lbs, Trek still manufactures the top end carbon frames in Waterloo, WI, but the rest of their bikes are manufactured primarily in China by Giant, actually.

I used to have a trek FX 2 (2019) and used it for regular commute in my hometown, even used it to travel (i stayed at la Habana for a couple months for studies and brought my bike), I adapted it a topeak rack and a mtx bag with lateral folding paniers and I must say, even it gets heavier, the bike itself is kinda light and nimble. Sadly, someone stole the bike when i left it at the garage without puting the lock. Then I bought a trek Dualsport 3 that i enjoy really much because the front suspension absorbs tons of impact from the cobble that is pretty much common here. Thing is, the bike is kinda heavy and the hills get nasty with a rack behind your back and a slightlly more slack geometry than the FX, so im not convinced that much about a suspension fork on a commute bike (even if the cobble more or less demands it), i think Victor is gonna be more than okay with the FX model because it have enough clearance for 700x40c tires with 50-70psi pressure that can handle more or less the impacts. Good upgrades for the FX bike: A cassette with more cogs (changed a 11-36 for a 11-42, that helped me on the unberable hills of my town and with extra load); x1 crankset: makes the bike easy to clean, cut extra weight, is simpler and looks cool; pedals: the wellgo pedals that comes with this bike are awfull AF.
Agreed. "Balance bikes" (aka push bikes) are popular in the US for toddlers because they haven't learned to ride a 2 wheel bike without training bikes yet. For them, they're more fun than just walking and easier and more safe, not to mention cheaper (would out grow in 1-2 years anyways), than a regular bike. Think of them as preschool for bikes. 🚲👼😅
