Canadian nursing schools don't have classes like Fundamentals (at least Ontario and everything east!) Our classes (at my school and generally most Canadian schools) are broken down into theory classes [covering the theories of nursing, types of nursing like peds, med surg, mental health etc], lab classes [skill classes! my first-year lab class focused on patient care, vital signs, health assessments. second-year focuses on injections and such!] , practical classes [clinical, some schools break it down into each type of nursing so peds, med surg spec clinical etc] and other classes [psychology, sociology, anatomy and physiology etc!] Every year of my program I have a nursing theory, a nursing lab and a practical course! We do have classes like pharmacology and patho though! Those are very similar! Our prereqs for our nursing programs, either the 2 year PN or the 4 year BScN programs are high school courses and the nursing programs include all of what American schools consider your prereqs for nursing!
I loved this vlog sooo much!! It really helped me to get more productive!!! Thank you for sharing this with us! Also, I saw that you used your left hand for lots of thing in this video- are you left handed or is the camera just inverted? Thank you!! ☺️💖❤️✨💕
@@JacklynY Thank you sooo much for ur response!! I was asking bc it’s my dream to go to nursing school but I’m left handed & I have never seen a left handed nurse before so it makes me feel SO much better about myself to know that there are some out there! ☺️💖❤️✨💕💓 Thank you again!!
how is your clinical placements at McMaster? is it good? are you in an acute hospital setting? as i am aware other schools do not give the best clinical placements to students. thank you. I am looking into mcmaster for my RN degree. (:
Love your vlog and seeing your nursing journey! Wishing you the best in your RN school!

Ty 💕 glad you’re like nursing school as well!
I’m so excited to practice injections, I wonder if that’ll come next session in fundamentals??
I’m not entirely sure! I think every school is different but my course was called nursing practice! :)
