This is so crazy to me!! I am Canadian, going to a Canadian university and I'm currently in my fourth and final year of the BScN program. Our requirements for admission to nursing are way less like it seems so much easier to get in over here compared to the states and the price of tuition is sooo much cheaper here I am shocked! but anyways, I've watched your videos throughout your whole undergrad and I know you are such a hard-working and committed student. You deserve this and you absolutely will get into a nursing program, I hope its your ideal one! You will make an amazing nurse one day!
Congrats girl!!! You'll do great things! I've been a nurse for about 2 years now. My school required us to be a CNA and have experience so we weren't blind sided at clinicals and knew sorta ishh what to expect.
I'm an RN of 30 years and remember school like it was yesterday. You will go through such a variety of emotions that we ALL go through. There will be moments when you feel overwhelmed but trust we have ALL felt the same. There are groups on Facebook that are so very helpful with people all over the world going through the very same things. Several UA-cam channels that will be helpful as well. One thing that could be helpful, especially since you are working and on your own, you might consider talking to you advisor about sitting for LPN boards after a year of RN school. It will totally help on your journey, and the money is a bit more than CNA so you may not need to work as much, using that extra time to study. Just a thought you might consider! Blessings 💙
Hi Kiara! It’s so fun seeing someone go through such a similar process as I am right now (I’m also applying to nursing schools, hoping to transfer from Oregon State). Good luck and I’m looking forward to seeing more of your journey once you are accepted to a program!
God, studying in the US seems very hard and very expensive. Now I am grateful that in my country you can enter the career that you want once you finish high school. I am in my third year of nursing school I only have 2 years left and I finish, it was so difficult at first but now i get used to it and i love it. Cheer up Kiara! I know you will be a great nurse❤.
I think she just chose the longest route as most schools in America have a joint nursing school and college program where you can get your nursing degree four years after high school.
@@Sydney-ns4hk my university had a nursing program so at the end of the 4 years they took any licensing exams necessary and graduated ready to practice. But yes, she did mention that her undergrad university didn't have such a program.
I totally wish the US had better programs for nursing! It seems like we have a major shortage of nurses and nursing instructors in general. I wish a public university in Oregon had a nursing program, but I would have had to attend a private school and paid way more to get that education near me. There are some great programs in other states through, but yes they are so expensive 😂 So glad you love your program, hoping your surviving your work load & week!

This is so interesting to me! I am currently in Nursing school in the south and this is the first time I have ever heard of this program used to apply. Very interesting to see other nursing schools in different parts of the country.
Why was I excited and nervous watching you submit the app? 😅 I went to grad school at the same school where I did my undergrad and only applied to that one school because I was so sure I was getting in. Our cohort was about a dozen students and maybe half of us made it through the program. (It wasn't nursing.) I don't remember the application essay being difficult to write but in general I find it difficult to write those types of essays because they're all about selling yourself as a good candidate and it ends up feeling odd to me. Not sure if anyone else feels that way about it or quite gets what I mean by it.
You should also look into MSN programs for Non Nurses!!! They are programs for students who have a Bachelor’s Degree in something else! I’m in this type of program, and I love it
I'm in my second year of nursing school and currently doing my Pediatric rotation. If everything goes right, I will graduate nursing school in May 2021. I earned my CNA license 5 years ago and it has helped me out so much during nursing school especially when it came to learning skills. Nursing school is freaking hard and you have to completely rewire your brain to think, study, and test a completely different way. However, just surround yourself with positive people and don't let negative nursing students get in your head. Being a CNA is hard too, there are many days that the bad times outweigh the good times, but it definitely helps you during nursing school and it will motivate you to be the type of nurse who cares about her CNA's and respect how much work they do. I honestly think that nursing school helped me understand who I really am and grow into myself. Good luck!

Hi Kiara, my name is Mary Grace and I have been a Neonatal ICU nurse for over 6 years and am now based in Los Angeles. I have my BSN and also did a few years of travel nursing as well. I started watching your vlogs during my travel nursing days when I made a few videos to document my journey. I’m happy to see that you’ve chosen to pursue nursing as a career. I remember the entire application process all too well. I’m excited to follow your new path to becoming a nurse. Please let me know if you have any questions!
The HARDEST thing I've ever applied to was nursing school 100%! I'm in my last semester of my ABSN program and I wouldn't have changed this experience for the world. My biggest piece of advise for you and anyone else who's applying/thinking of applying to nursing school is to not be too hard on yourself. You don't have to get As on every exam or be the best at inserting IVs. I was definitely way too hard on myself during my first semester of the program and I wish someone would have told me to just do the best I can and be proud of the progress I'm making. I ended up re-taking a course due to the death of a family member which changed my graduation timeline, but re-taking the class ended up being THE BEST thing to have ever happened to me. I wish you the best of luck with applying to nursing school and if you ever have questions, please don't hesitate to reach out :)
Wow thank you so much for sharing your story Zoie! That's so reassuring and helpful to know & I'll definitely have to read your comment when I'm sure I'll fall into a similar headspace. Hope you're taking in all the wonderful opportunities your final semester is bringing to you!
I apples to vet school through VMCAS which is the same program. I paid for the professional transcript entry and there were no errors but my roommate had one on her application and you can change it after it’s been submitted back to you. So she was able to correct one error instead of putting it all in. It saved me my sanity!
applying to nursing school is tough!! Going to nursing school hardest thing you’ll ever do, but speaking as someone who’s finally done with it, it is seriously the best decision I ever made. Excited for you! Best of luck👏🏻
Why have I never heard of Nursing CAS.... I've been to 6 different ABSN/ADN/ELM info sessions and every university (in SoCal) has their own application process X_X Half of them are still on paper...
my favourite notification to get is when you upload a new video!! the hardest thing I ever applied to was my Master of Occupational Therapy program - but it was soooo worth it!
Hii I studied nursing before switching to med school and I’m wishing you the best of luck! I know you’ll do great, it’s gonna be hard but it’ll be so worth it. It’s such a privilege to take care of people and I know you’ll be great at it ❤️❤️
There wasn’t a nursing program at my school, I didn’t want to leave my school bc I loved it so so much, & I wasn’t 100% sure if I wanted to be a nurse yet. I feel so much more prepared now that I have a bachelors behind me too ☺️
Thanks! And there were many reasons, mostly because they each offered a specific class/style that I needed at that time or because it was the school that I went through for dual enrollment in high school :)
Kiara you’re gonna do great in nursing school! I’m in my last year of undergrad nursing school right now and it’s so hard but so worth it! I’ll be a RN, BSN in May!
Hi Kiara! I have an idea of which schools you’re working on (I’m from the PNW, graduated from the ABSN program for the app you’re working on and now a nurse!) Been through this whole process so if you need any tips or wonder what the ABSN program is like, lmk!!
I’m a first year transferring to nursing school (CAN) for next fall. Super nervous I won’t get in for my BScN because they’ll look at my first year grades over my high school grades which are actually science courses (first year I took sociology). Soo long story short I’m crossing my fingers hoping I’ll get in! Worst case I apply to a college for a 1-2 year rpn then apply to BScN afterwards (it’s a bridge program). Will I be crushed if I don’t get into the BScN? Yes. But I want to be a nurse so if it means taking an extra year or so then I’ll do whatever it takes. There is always a way in :)

Wow thank you so much for sharing your story Zoie! That's so reassuring and helpful to know & I'll definitely have to read your comment when I'm sure I'll fall into a similar headspace. Hope you're taking in all the wonderful opportunities your final semester is bringing to you!
I am planning Bel-Rea but I have to do wait for more years until I graduate
Hang in there you got this!
I apples to vet school through VMCAS which is the same program. I paid for the professional transcript entry and there were no errors but my roommate had one on her application and you can change it after it’s been submitted back to you. So she was able to correct one error instead of putting it all in. It saved me my sanity!
That's really good to know! Thanks so much for sharing your experience! Wishing you the best of luck!
Kiara out here literally becoming a nurse:
Me eat while on a zoom meeting: 👁👄👁
haha we love a good snack during a long zoom sess...ily 😘
applying to nursing school is tough!! Going to nursing school hardest thing you’ll ever do, but speaking as someone who’s finally done with it, it is seriously the best decision I ever made. Excited for you! Best of luck👏🏻
You totally get it! I can't wait until I am officially an RN!=
@@KiaraMadisen best of luck!!! You got it
Jamie and Katie are literally sibling goals my sisters and I could never
I really all...it's an honor to be their third wheel.
Why have I never heard of Nursing CAS.... I've been to 6 different ABSN/ADN/ELM info sessions and every university (in SoCal) has their own application process X_X Half of them are still on paper...
beachnerbum710 woah that’s so crazy! The nursingCAS is honestly pretty helpful for the most part
This is such a helpful and valuable video. Tons of good tips.😍
So glad!
Congrats on your growth. You are doing great 👍
Thank you so much!
Did you ever think about going to PA school?
I did but it’s not really for me...I’d rather be a nurse ;)
Love the videos Kiara! You are so inspiring! How did you find your CNA program? I am looking for a CMA program.
My friend actually told me about it! But a quick google search should pull up some great options!
You mentioned your mom correcting your work and making you a better writer. Is she an English teacher/prof?
She's not, but she does a lot of it at work, and her mom and dad were both english professors so she is picky & very on it 😂
Kiara no matter what you're gonna be great and awesome! Good luck in everything, we're so proud of you😊
my favourite notification to get is when you upload a new video!! the hardest thing I ever applied to was my Master of Occupational Therapy program - but it was soooo worth it!
Wow what an amazing program! Thanks so much for watching ❤️
I literally spent half of my day streaming her previous videos 😂
omg you're the best! Thanks for watching!
@@KiaraMadisen I am? Aww... U too, Thanks!
Hii I studied nursing before switching to med school and I’m wishing you the best of luck! I know you’ll do great, it’s gonna be hard but it’ll be so worth it. It’s such a privilege to take care of people and I know you’ll be great at it ❤️❤️
Good for you for following your heart! I have been loving taking care of people as a CNA student so I'm excited to learn more :)
This was super motivating to watch! I’m also working on applying to ABSN programs right now. I wish you luck!☺️
Thank you! You too!
YES KIARA WOOHOO!!! queen
Love you miss Mack 😘😘
when do you actually find out what programs you got accepted into ?
Emma Shaw this coming spring!
i’m a senior in the nursing program rn! it can be so so stressful. everyone’s journey is so different but do what works best for you!
why did you decide to get a bach degree and then apply to nursing school opposed to applying to nursing school after your first 2 years of undergrad?
There wasn’t a nursing program at my school, I didn’t want to leave my school bc I loved it so so much, & I wasn’t 100% sure if I wanted to be a nurse yet. I feel so much more prepared now that I have a bachelors behind me too ☺️
How come you you went to 4 different colleges? Good luck with the applications!
Thanks! And there were many reasons, mostly because they each offered a specific class/style that I needed at that time or because it was the school that I went through for dual enrollment in high school :)
Kiara and Katie have a new video. Beautiful day!
and we didn't even plan it 😂
Good luck! Are you applying for NP as well as BSN and ADN?
Kiara you’re gonna do great in nursing school! I’m in my last year of undergrad nursing school right now and it’s so hard but so worth it! I’ll be a RN, BSN in May!
Omg so close! Crazy proud of you! Hope you kill it in your final stretch!
im in love with how you are sharing your journey ,you are my literal inspo
i am also sharing my journey on my channel!
That's so awesome! Thanks for following along!
3rd I love your vids!
Thanks for watching them!
Your thumbnails are always so cute
Thank you so much!
Great job!! I’m in pre-nursing right now and haven’t even begun this process of applying. Have you taken the TEAS?
That's awesome! i don't think I'll have to because they canceled pretty much all of the exams because of COVID :)
I KNEW U WERE A NICE PERSON.. YOU’RE GOING TO DO WELL, YOU HAVE THE MENTAL SUPPORT OF YOUR FANS ME BEING ONE ❤️❤️❤️
That means the world to me! Thanks so much for all your help!
@@KiaraMadisen You’re Welcome 😊
What schools have you applied on your Spreadsheet?
I ended up applying to 4 schools on my spreadsheet!
@@KiaraMadisen Can you name the 4 schools on my email? al713713@gmail.com
Very helpful👍
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for watching!
love this video
Thank you for teaching us miss kiara!!😂😂
You are so welcome!
as a coug, i hope you also apply to wsu nursing in spokane... but congrats on finishing the uw app!! 💓
