Thanks for all the love on this video! Here's what my hair looks like at the 2-year mark: ua-cam.com/video/vNqcmSHGYDk/v-deo.html
It’s beautiful 🤩 - I want to do the same but my hair is black and I’m so tired of dying my roots every month… I did some highlights in December and I will do more soon but I don’t want to cover my hair with black anymore.
I’m a 28 year old male. I started graying since I was 14. I used hair dye ever since until a few months ago. I tried henna+ indigo and all those diy’s. I work in the biotech, work on site see people every day etc. I even noticed my hair has been thinning lately. I also believe the harmful color did way too much damage all these years. Deep down i really want to just grow my greys and don’t give a damn. But idk it’s just the society I don’t understand. I have mixed feelings. Rn I am using henna and indigo which doesn’t really hold to shorter hair. My greys are pretty Visible rn in mixed colors . People should normalize this. It’s pretty much genetic. My mom grayed from her teens. I feel more confident to just go for it and grow my natural hair/ preserve my existing hair instead of damaging. Would be tough tho
Wow! 31?! You look like a teenager! You could totally pass as 18 years old ..
I think it's just the lighting. I definitely have some fine lines, but thank you!
I’m assuming you avoid the sun? Your skin is flawless!
Mind Made Up it’s not about lines. You do look like a young girl.
The gray hair looks nice.😊
I literally thought she was 19/20 till I seen this comment .
you’re like the main character in a fantasy story written for teens/young adults. the gray hair is a sign that you’re the chosen one. the journey is about to start.
Haha thanks, I'm not sure I'm ready for this adventure...
😄😄
That's literally "the young elites" plot lmao
Ddochim great, now I have something to read haha thank you!!
Exactly!!
You could let your gray hair grown out, and then do platinum highlights once per year. They would blend perfectly, and your face is so young, that you could pull it off. You look very young, and you are very pretty. The blue eyes and gray look like a model.
Thank you and you're right, that could be a cool option.
As a former hair stylist that was my thoughts too
Im doing that with my own grey hair and honestly is the BEST!
never understood people having grey hair and getting highlights?? you already have the perfect highlights lmao
@@d.alexis4056 the combo of grey and silvery white highlights does look fab tho, really makes the grey pop
Wow the grey with your blue eyes looks beautiful
Thank you!
Ikr. Such a regal look
im 18 now and i started getting grey hair at 14, cant believe ive actually found someone else who's gone grey early like me
It happens to more people than you think!
I found my first grey on my 16th birthday. I think it’s an Irish/Scottish heritage thing.
Same over here. I'm 18 too and I found my first grey hair at 15 and I never heard of someone getting grey as early. My hear is brown and I beginn to struggle more and more. It kind of helps to see we are not alone with it...
@@lucajoana1930 I start having white hair when I was 12 and now I am 22 it's cool but they are not grey they are white I was worried it was something negative but now I love them especially when I dye my hair the colour just pop with those strands
My cousins hair went grey at 8
I thought you were a teen explaining how you dyed your hair gray and tried to get your natural blond hair back 😄
I'm truly shocked that people think I look that young lol. I really don't irl
@@MindMadeUp well I don't know you seem to have a wrinkle free face and "full " Cheeks (i dont know how to explain it properly but as you grow your cheeks get thinner but teens a'd young adults still sometimes have rounder cheeks)
I thought exactly the same! 😂
Samee
My grandmas hair turned completely silver at 22. Her hair color is absolutely gorgeous I wish mine would! Same with you, looks so fashionable!
Thank you! It's funny how it's in style now. When I was in my early 20s, I was embarrassed to have it.
Mind Made Up so was she! She would dye it for so long I’m like lol it’s literally in style now people wish they had that color!
Finally I found people who have same things going on with their hair!!!!! I'm 22 but I have gray spots LOL and I know I'm gonna grow it out and maybe do some kind of ash hair color😆
my grandma’s hair is pure white and it happened when she was on her early 20s too! i hope my hair is white like hers when it does lose its color bc her hair is beautiful (my dad and 2 of my uncles also have white hair)
My mom was completely "silver" before 45.
Your hair really complements your skin and eye color...you look absolutely stunning with your natural hair color!
Aww, thank you 😊
Welcome to being silver. I call it silver, makes me more confident. When people remove a lose strand from my sweater, etc., I tell them to leave my tinsel and smile. It s fun being silver. You 'll find when standing in a line you 'll look around and women will slowly smile at you, they are thinking about it, I can tell. When I turned 50, I thought I m going to show my girls in the family, silver is not looking old, it s showing how being silver you still have energy and you are still young. My son got married mid colour change, dang.... I wore a fascinator and pulled it off just fine. I m growing my hair long and many people actually compliment my hair colour and I tempt them to join our team. So welcome to the team and continue to show confidence and be a strong woman of choice. You are beautiful.
Aww, thank for the warm welcome. I'm happy to be a part of the silver club :)
I, too, love to call my hair silver.
I just started getting my gray hairs in or silver, but what is weird for the most part mine comes in with no pigment. The first time I had one was at like 32, I am 35 now and I was like what is in my hair, so I pulled it out. It was only a couple inches long at the top of my roots, new hair growth. It looked just like fishing line. I was so confused, like how to fishing line get stuck in my hair, lol!
wowzieee its cool how you embrace your natural hair, i think ill do the same when my hair turns 😀
Sally that gurl__Julia “grey” hair is translucent! that’s why it looks grey against darker hair and white against lighter hair
im 18 n premature greys run in my mum's side and im DYING to have grey hair it's so gorgeous i cant wait
That's interesting. So many people are trying to hide their grays lol.
@@MindMadeUp my mum is one of them! she's had pure white since she was in her 20s and dyes her hair dark brown every 3 weeks. I've tried telling her she wont look old or anything, but i guess she's just not ready
I would say the same.. 🙈 But unfortunately it doesn't run in my family, my parents at 48 still have really dark hair.. 🙈
I tryed colouring my hair, or better bleaching it, to silver one time, but my red hair pigments are just to strong..
So I understand the young people trying to cover up their gray hair, but at the same time: Don't.! It's just so beautiful the way it is.. :)
I would rather have a full head of white hair at 30 than still have lots of natural hair color between the already white one like my family seems to get as they age. My grandma is 65 and has half white and half her natural hair color
michelle castillo my grandma, dad, and 2 of my uncles have pure white hair too! it’s so beautiful! i hope my hair turns white as well
I am growing out my grey as well after bleaching my hair light blonde. You look beautiful and there is nothing more courageous than being yourself and ignoring media's view of women. Besides, natural Grey hair is the only truly unique hair color. You be you!
Thank you! I hope your grow-out is going well. Keep going!
I love when women do this! There was a lady at a store and i saw she was growing her hair out. I said I love your hair and she said I need to cover my roots and I was like no I love it ! You should let it grow out! 👍🏻
Thank you for spreading positivity about grey hair ❤. So many women still have such a hard time embracing it. It can be very difficult.
Weird that your natural hair looks so contemporary. Look Great!!
Thank you!
Yes, definitely dark blonde naturally. I was too. I started greying in H.S. too. Way to go; it looks fantastic on you.
Thanks! I swear it used to be darker. I don't know what happend lol.
Guys I want to recommend something my aunt did. Although this hasn't been yet a concern for me, I want to understand how people perceive beauty against what society sets the standards as and due to my curiosity ended up here.
So I want you to look up something called Grey Blending. So basically according to your hair and greying intensity, you can get the grey blended with silver or extremely bright blonde or ash brown kind of colours to make it look like you just had your hair highlighted or coloured.
Another plus point of it is that you need much less touch-ups than someone with no greying because your new outgrowth of roots will still blend with the rest of the hair for quite a long time.
Hence less damage and a new hair color for you.
I've seen some beautiful grey blending! I'm just too cheap to go the salon lol.
@@MindMadeUp I feel when the time comes, I too will be like you😂😭
I would have never guessed this was a year of natural hair growth. It looks like an ash blonde ombré, really pretty 🖤
I actually wanted to dye my hair that color but decided against it because it would be too damaging.
Oh yes, it is very damaging for sure.
Love it!, I cant wait to go grey all over, I'm 31 now but have had grey strands since I was around 17 (and still only odd strands :( ). Every now and then I get a comment "ohh your going grey, you might want to dye your hair again". Like hell no thankyou, I think there is a real raw beauty in aging, and to cover that up with a dye job seems almost sacrilegious to me. I want to watch how I change with the years, hair and all. Embrace your beauty.
Agreed!
You're a real life Elsa from frozen! The grey hair looks absolutely gorgeous next to your porcelain skin tone
Thank you so much 💕
It really does!!
Hello, I have also been growing my hair for a year now, and have a similar length as you so I still have my old died color on the ends. I just wanted to thank you for your video. It is the first one I see about someone my age growing their natural hair back, so it is very encouraging, specially for those days where I think 'What am I doing?'. To anyone that is think about growing their natural hair back, I totally recommend it. It is absolutely beautiful to see the patterns that white hair makes, and so see your hair shiny and healthy again.
Thank you for the lovely comment!
31 my a$$ I just thought you were discussing how to dye hair grey, looks really good on you!
Is 31 that old? I’m 31, I don’t feel look like a granny
I don't think so, but I'm biased lol.
GURLLLLL. You are totally rocking this grey hair!
Thank you! I'm trying lol
You are so beautiful.. your natural hair colour is better than having dyed hair... what a blessing!!
Thank you! I'm really starting to like it.
I went gray super young too. I am now growing out the gray at 43 and also bleached my dark brown hair to ease the line of demarcation. The stylist fried it and without toner it’s a trump like orange color. I will be so happy when it’s all grown out. I’m 5 months in! Your eyes are so pretty with the cool tone silver. It’s gorgeous
Oh no, I'm sorry to hear that! Congrats though, 5 months is great progress.
I’m so glad I found this. I’m in my 30’s and I’ve been dying my hair really dark for years. My natural colour, and silver growth, are actually really similar to yours. I’ve been toying with the idea of lightening my hair and growing it out for a while now, but vanity got in the way (roots judgement 😑) Having seen your hair I feel way better about doing it. This is the first honest and real video I’ve seen on the topic, and it’s really encouraged me. Thank you ❤️
Aww I'm happy to hear it was helpful. Thanks for watching :). The first few months are definitely tough, but you just have to hang in there.
This was recommended to me, which is great cause I've been dealing with my gray hair since I was about 20. I'll be 30 this year and it is crazy how often people comment about my gray's in person. This makes me feel reassured that embracing my gray hairs isnt weird. I am enjoying getting older and it is kind of cool to see the changes. You look amazing with your natural silver tones. Thank you for this video.
Not weird at all! If you think about it, it's weirder that we dye our hair to begin with
I love this look...the gray with the dipped in beige look! Your haircut and the length are perfect too!
I must say you look stunning with your grey locks, it really compliments your eyes. And I think you're very brave to grow them out, especially in a time where almost everything's just not what it seems. Embrace your inner beauty, that should be the new trend. And I really hope it'll stay for a while. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks so much 😊
Thanks so much for this. I’m 29 and have had greys since I was 16/17 like you. I’m sick of dying my hair and spending $100+ every month, and feeling judged for having roots growing in. I also feel like rebelling against a society that says men look sexy with greys and women don’t. Miss me with that! Your hair looks AMAZING and I can’t wait to see how mine goes! This isolation is making it much easier to grow out.
Yay, good for you!
Huh! Thank you for this video... this really makes me wanna stick to my growing-out plan even more... in November I stopped the dyeing... I have/ had a platinum blonde pixie for the longest time and I am sooo over this look, over destroying my hair every 6 weeks and I am looking forward to embrace my natural hair color with all the greys... btw, I‘m 35 and I love that you are in your 30s as well. You look amazing, please keep us updated.🤗🍀
I will, and thanks for watching. It's nice to hear that this video was helpful 🙂.
I think you are very lucky because you have light hair! My hair is black, like very black but I'm full full of grey hair and it's so noticeable
I think black and silver looks super cool!
Your grey is beautiful! Can I recommend something? I use the Fudge Cool Brunette conditioner to tone the brassiness of my former dye job back. It’s SUPER pigmented and bright turquoise. There’s also a Cool Blonde version. I think just using the conditioner on the blonde part, NOT on your natural hair, would tone it back to pretty much your natural color. Make sure to comb it through with a really wide toothed comb so it blends. The color washes out, so if you get a little on the tips of your natural color, it will wash out in a few washes. I’ve found this to be really helpful to match my colored ends to my cool natural tones. Hope that helps!
Thanks for the tip! I've never thought of using a turquoise product before.
It took me about 4-5 years to grow out my natural. Once my natural hair reached my shoulders I chopped my hair off and it’s been growing ever sense. I love having my natural hair - I’m always getting compliments on how healthy it is. ❤️ your root color is so pretty!
I can't wait to chop mine. Thanks for watching!
I feel like you are reading my mind. I have explored every option. 4 1/2 months into the natural grow out. Trying so hard to embrace it. The reward is baby soft hair and beautiful variation in colors. The tough part is getting used to seeing myself in photos. Thanks so much for the video
We just have to keep going because it'll be worth it. Thanks for watch and leaving a comment. I really appreciate it!
I am a young man (27) and am seeing more and more grey. I think your hair looks great. It makes me much more comfortable with the idea of going grey at a young age. Thanks for the video!
I'm so happy to hear that. Thanks for watching 😊
tip with semi permanent dye, purple colour will fade to grey, you'll still have roots, but once it fades it'll match better! best to apply to blonde/light hair :)
You're right. I should have clarified that. I was thinking more of natural colors, like if I put a brown on my current hair.
I started having grays in my teens , but dyed throughout lifetime and even missed my tempting pandemic opportunity (due to outside pressure) to start turning natural. But finally my mind made up, with spouse’s encouragement , announced my intention and just begun. You are so beautiful, very happy for you.
Thanks for watching! I'm happy to hear you're going for it. Mine's fully grown out now and it feels soooo nice to be natural. Keep going 🙂
You and your hair are beautiful!
Thank you!
Thank goodness I found your channel!!!! I have dark dark almost black hair, and I started getting grays at 18. I used to only have a few and I would, get this... pluck them out. I will be turning 31 this year and let me tell you! There are very few young people that are going grey or at least showing in off in the media!
I'm so glad to find someone who is experiencing what I am. Thank you!!!
Thanks!! It's great to know that this video resonates with people. And I know what you mean. I feel like there aren't too many people in our age group talking about gray hair.
I was thinking of growing grays for a while, and finally I decided to do it while staying at home due to Covid 19. It's been 3 months since I touched up my roots. Thank you for the tips. Very informational video :)
Good luck!
I have been debating on going this route but only am in week one! Right now I can pull it into a ponytail but I am considering if I get impatient to having it cut short in a few month's. I am in my 70s so it's not like I have a lot of time for this. I just want to have healthy hair again and look more normal/natural. I have auburn hair going gray/silver. Don't like the contrast.
Your Natural hair looks gorgeous on you! It has so many gorgeous streaks! It’s really cool toned I actually thought it was dyed blond with lots of purple shampoo. I envy you for making the brilliant decision to grow your natural colour and not falling victim so societal norms. I’m a red head and I’ve always HATED my hair but I’m slowly trying to embrace it. Ive started getting more and more ginger comments and every joke you can imagine so I ended up adding streaks and not I’m stuck with what to do. It’s a journey for sure! Good luck & I wish you lots of love on and happiness on your hair journey.
Thank so much, and red hair is so beautiful, you should embrace it.
Your natural color is perfect! Ad that's a lot of growth for 1 year! I'll be 2 years in in May!
Thank you ❤. That's awesome. I can't wait to get to that point
A couple of years older but I am on the same journey that you are in. Letting the grays come and accept them because they eventually come harder on. You are an inspiration! :)
Thank you and I'm glad to hear you're going through the same thing. Keep going 💕
I'm so glad I came across your video. I am in my mid 50's single, no children, or husband etc.....I have been coloring my hair medium rich brown or some brown tones for quite some time. I would really like to go all grey as I know there is a lot, I mean a lot. My roots are coming out now and I have 1 box color left and after watching your video, I am thinking about not coloring it, and see what it looks like. I wish there was a way to go and have all the color taken off and see what it looks like, but it sounds like that is not an option. My hair is long (past my shoulders), I have cut about 13 inches off before and said I won't do this again and I did. Now it is long again and I really want to keep it long (no matter my age) as I think women should dress and wear and do for themselves what makes them happy. I am very self conscience about my looks and have had an eating disorder since about 20 yrs. old. So, I'm at a cross roads on what to do. I see a lot of women that are grey younger or went grey because they wanted to and they look so pretty. When I see someone I usually tell them how pretty their hair is, because maybe they are feeling old and self conscience and maybe put a smile on their face to know someone thinks they look pretty. Thank you for the nice video and you and your hair are beautiful and it looks really nice on you. I subscribed after seeing your video and look forward to seeing more I hope. God Bless you and Thank you. You look beautiful.
Thank you for the lovely comment, and it's nice to hear that you're spreading positivity. I'd say try growing it out for a bit and see if you like it and if you don't, that's totally okay too :)
Your hair looks good actually. Proud of you being young and going natural. I’m on this journey a beginner. Bravo sweetie !!!!
Thank you so much!!
omg, you are so pretty! you look like a disney princess or something! and your natural hair color...omg...its lit ♥️ keep up with the good job! loads of love from brazil
Thanks so much, and hi from Canada.
You look stunning. Your natural color is beautiful and you have amazing skin!
I went grey at 17. I'm 51 now and my hair is white in the front around my face with a thick dark streak where my part/widow's peak is (think reverse Lily Munster) and the middle and back are salt and pepper, while the underneath back is still dark. It is really cool and I cannot wait for it all to be grown out. I'm lucky as my hair grows about an inch a month, so it won't be long! 😊
Damn, an inch a month? That's amazing.
Your hair is beautiful.
Thanks so much!
the grey works SO WELL FOR YOU!! i love it
aww thank you
its very pretty naturally. Look forward to seeing it long and all grey
Me too! It's such a long process though. Thanks for the encouragement.
You're hair grows very fast. Your 3 months is my 12 months (mine grows very slow). You look amazing and well done on embracing the Silver!
I stumbled upon your video and it’s inspired me to continue on my gray hair journey. I’m also 31 and I’ve been told I’m too young to be embracing my hair, but I’m sticking to it. I did cut my hair shoulder length but I’m excited to see how it turns out.
Wow, I'm glad I could help 🙂. And don't let other people's opinions get to you.
Mind Made Up thank you so much for posting the video, it helped me remind me of why I started my gray hair journey :)
Your gray on your young face and beautiful skin is stunning! Good choice. At 64 I used the quarrantine as an opportunity to grow out my gray. Same reasons as you. 3” in I had a friend buzz me down to 1/4”. I feel so free! Loving both the gray and the super short hair and actually look younger than with a shoulder length warm brown bob.
Wow, good for you! I think it would be so cool to have buzzed hair, but I think my forehead is just way too big to pull it off lol
Thanks for sharing your wisdom on growing out grey hair. Your hair looks really nice... and your tips are spot on too. I'm nearly five months into doing this and found that lightening the coloured part of my hair really helped a lot, as well as using purple shampoo. I've gotten past being self-conscious about it, and really enjoying the freedom of that root touch up chore - so boring. I'm in my mid-fifties and just wish that I'd have done this much earlier.
That's great to hear and congrats. Getting over the self-conscious hump is the best. We just need to keep going.
I've dyed my hair before, but never to cover the Grey, only because well I wanted a change!
Im not sure why I'm not obsessed over my grey hair like everyone else but seeing how many people needed your video to feel confident in their own hair, well, I can only say more people should start doing it!
We live in a very youth-obssessed culture, unfortunately.
@@MindMadeUp but that's the thing! We're not a youth obsessed society. We are a very pedophile one. We like shaved girls (although small girls have hair, it's usually peach hair, and their mostly bare down there), colored hair (we can start having Grey hair in our 15), thin and nice and curious and obedient (again, like little girls). Focusing on the hair for the sake of this argument and video, people can't come to me and say we are obsessed with people in their 20's because people in their 20's have grey hairs. People are not obsessed with looking young adults, they are obsessed with looking like children. And I apologize for such a straight forward and even crude point of view, because I know some people might be nauseated just by thinking of what I'm proposing here...
Having grey hairs does not make anyone look older than they are. It makes them look the actual age they have. We were simply told since a small age they only grannies have grey hair and therefore we think of a grandmother everytime we see someone with grey hair. We need to stop this.
People in their 20's have grey hair, and from that age on they'll only have more. And they don't look old. They look just the way they were supposed to
Your hair looks awesome and it looks great on you! Thanks for sharing, I’m also in the process of growing out my greys. My natural color is dark brown and like you said it’s more challenging because the line is not subtle at all. I’m still in my 2nd month, one of those months where people can think that we’re not taking care of our roots. 😬 Anyway, I’m happy to come across your video. Thanks!
Aww thanks for watching, I appreciate it. And I feel your pain. I had very dark hair when I tried this the first time around and it was tough, but it gets easier. Keep going!
I cannot decide whether to go grey, when I see you I feel inspired but yours looks so good on you.
You should try it out!
Hi you are adorable. Love you and your message about going grey. In August it will be two years since I started. I had tinted dark hair. I'm over seventy. I never knew what my real hair looked like. I started letting it grow at its own pace, not worrying about the demarcation line. I had middle lenght hair. I kept cutting the ends of the hair at the same rate I thought the hair was growing, so about 1cm or so every month. Consequently I always manteined the same length of hair. At 18 months my hair was completely silver. Really, It was the most shine, lovely, lightish silver color. I could not believed it. I deeply regret not having had the courage to go grey years ago. So ladies, listen to the wise advise of this nice young lady and to others like me. Go for it. be patience, you will not regret it when you enjoy the beauty of your crowning glory.
Thank you for your lovely words of encouragement, Linda!
It is so absolutely beautiful! Silver hair is such a trend right now, so it looks utterly incredible to see such shiney beautiful natural hair. You have such beautiful blue eyes and cool skin, so you look like Elsa or an ice queen. Love it
Thank you so much!!
I haven't dyed my hair in 2 years, and now I'm about to cut the hair that's dyed off, and I'm looking forward to it.
Now all we need is it has covid-19 time over so I can get to the hairdresser here in Denmark
Ouuu, that's exciting!
@@MindMadeUp Yes, it's very anxiety-provoking for me, now I need to rest in myself 😱
Thank you so much for this video and sharing your experience in details. For me it was really important. I’m 35 and have decided to grow my natural hair back which have some gray already, so I’m constantly looking for other women’s stories and yours is truly inspiring. :)
Glad it was helpful!
Keep going on your effort. Your silver gray natural tone looks beautiful. It lightens your skin tone. And dont worry about your age because you are very young. I am 51 and am considering going natural because when i dye it, it lasts me only a week and a half. It feels slavery🙃. Greetings from Puerto Rico and blessings for your channel👍🏻
Thank you and hi from Canada 😀
It's very flattering for your eyes and skin tone. Not long to go now, the next year will fly by! I'm a year into the process too after 40 years of dying my hair, so excited to find out my natural colour again.
It really did. I'm at the 2 year mark now. And it is cool to see what your colour is after all the years of dyeing!
I've had a dyed blonde pixie cut for 8 years. I've been growing my hair for 5 months and now due to social distancing etc my hairdresser is closed. I'm going to embrace my grey and grow my hair all at the same time. I'm 50 years old and I haven't seem my natural colour for along time. Thank you for this, very inspirational 😎❤
Thank you! It's not easy, but it's definitely cool to see what's under the dye.
Your hair is beautiful, I've been trying to match this shade artificially for a long time to blend with my natural grey hairs. Tbh I can't wait until I get to your stage of greying, you look pretty rad.
Thank you :)
I’m at a year also. Same amount of growth. It looks great on you!
Yay congrats, and thank you ❤
Wow, this haircolour is so wonderful together with you eyes and your fair beautyful skin👌
Thanks 😊
It may sound weird, but I love grey hair and can’t wait to get some. Wisdom streaks!
You're not the first to say that. I've had a lot of comments like this and I think it's great. I wish more people had your mindset.
Your hair is stunning n it matches ur eyes ,l love it
Thanks so much☺
Very pretty...the patterns we all have are like tiger stripes...no 2 are alike...very inspiring 4 me...in my 40s and recently decided to stop dyeing😌
Wonderful!
I love your hair hair and you look beautiful!
Thanks so much ❤
It looks great on u!! My girl is 42, she is grew out her naturally grey hair...she’s biracial , so has these amazing curls!! It looks sooooo good!! Silver fox!! 😍 I wish I had naturally grey hair...mine is blonde naturally, and I’ve been dying it black, auburn or ruby for the last 21 years. It’s such a pain in the ass!!! But I’ll admit, I use the eyeshadow trick as well!
We all want what we don't have, eh? Lots of people would love to have your natural blonde colour lol
Thank you for this video! Your gray looks amazing and so healthy. I have bene going gray since my teens. I am going natural now at 38!
Do you find you need different products now with gray hair?
Thanks for watching! I've noticed that I have more flyaways, but I'm not sure if that's related to the gray hair or not. I've been using a pomade to try to slick them down, but it hasn't been working very well. I've heard gray hair is more prone to being frizzy, but I haven't noticed too much of a difference. I feel like I won't have a strong opinion on haircare until I finally get rid of my colour-treated ends. I'm thinking purple shampoo and some extra conditioning will do the trick though.
I'm also transitioning to gray..and I find my hair feels thinner. Do either of you have this problem?
It suits you so well! I found my first gray hair as a 23-year-old (two years ago) and I'm growing out my natural hair color now. I only have a few gray hairs, but I'm sick of coloring my hair. I'm just going to embrace my natural hair from now on.
Good for you 💕
31 ! you look 22 . I just started grow out my white hair about 48 days ago. (for lent) and my hubby loves it ! hug friend connie ... AKA over70 stillglamorous" :)
Yay, good for you 😀
I agree. There are young people going to salons to achieve the beautiful shade of gray that is her real hair color and she also has the lighter streaks that add dimension. For me I find that depending on the skill of the person doing the application, colored hair can look really aging on some people. She has a very youthful face and her eyes look absolutely stunning.
I really enjoyed this vlog. I'm a lot older than you, my children are your age. I'm growing out my dyed hair. At 6 months into it, I am happier now with the regrowth than at 1 month.
That's awesome. Thanks for sharing. It definitely gets easier as the months go by.
I gave up my hair dye at 36.. I went and got grey highlights to help mine along.. I look older but I am so over trying to cover it
Good for you!
It's really very pretty - congratulations. Like you, I started going gray in my late teens. I never colored my hair and it's been pure silver for the past 50 years. Keep up the good work!
Thanks for your kind message 💕
@@MindMadeUp You're welcome - stay well!
You look incredibly Scandinavian to me, like if you were to walk down my street i wouldn't think twice about it :P Do you have Scandinavian genes?
I'm actually not sure 🤔
@@MindMadeUp Well then… DNA test next up? ;P
Your grey hair looks great. You're right, why have so many of us got on this hair dying treadmill when grey can look great. In lockdown I've decided to grow mine out, 58 and embracing grey. Mind made up, will be so much more healthy without the bleach and dye. Thanks for sharing Silver Sister. X
Quarantine is really the perfect time to start 🙂
it literally just looks like a grey balayage omgg
or like highlights or smthn
Thank you!
Very true about Demi permanent color! It does not wash out. Also, yes, keep it longer! I’m on round 2 of doing this and I’ve made these mistakes.
Same! Thanks for sharing your experience :)
Your natural hair is so beautiful! I too had the dilemma of working in a professional environment and growing out my natural hair. It was hard. I felt so sloppy. People judge. I started one year ago and have no regrets. I love my grays and feel so free. No more salon visits and am saving so much money. You go, girl! Your hair is beautiful❤
Thanks so much! Yay to freedom 😃
You are so pretty! You're eyes really stand out with the natural hair. Good for you for embracing your natural hair. I'm a month in starting my journey.
Keep going! The first few months are the hardest.
Thanks for sharing! This video inspires me to be strong and just do it and take care of my hair! I'm all about natural care and look lately. And I'll think it will be beautiful and makes me free at one point of view.
It's definitely worth it!
Your grey hair is GORGEOUS I love grey hair
Thanks so much!
Yes! I'm so happy to see more young women doing this! Same as you I started going grey at 16, at 24 istopped dying it, that was 6 years ago. Now I just turned 30 and I have a lot of silver, much like yours. My hair is super dark naturally and my greys really pop against it. But its amazing, I love it!!!
Awesome! I love dark hair with silver. I bet yours is stunning 🙂
Your natural hair is freakin gorgeous. It's so awesome that it naturally looks like highlights!
Thank you. I dyed it for so long that I had no idea what it was going to look like, but I love it now.
I have premature greying since I was 10 from my father's side, and you're lucky that you have all your hair grey, mine is like mostly black with grey strands randomly growing wherever, some of my hair strands is like half black half grey.
I think it's easier once you have a lot of gray hair. I didn't have that problem because I always dyed my hair anyway, so I didn't go through the phase of only having a few that really stand out against my natural colour.
You look 18!!!!
I have been going white since I was 15. I now have dyed blonde hair and nearly all white in certain areas. I'm naturally dark brown near black. X
I like white and black hair; it's very striking
Thank you for the video! I'm 27 and I'm about 70% grey, I naturally have very dark brown almost black hair so as soon as I have a cm of grey it stands out so much! So currently in the process of lightening my hair so I can grow it all out.. I'm at the ginger phase at the moment and cant got back for a couple of months to give my hair a rest.. but nice to know that I'm not alone! Haha
No problem, I'm glad it could help!
Wow, I love your hair. I think it's so beautiful! I'm 33 and I have a ton of gray hair. This video really makes me want to grow out my blonde highlights and go natural.
Go for it :)
The grey is soooo beautiful ! I'm honestly jealous
thank you :)
Wonderful advice! You actually look younger now than in the photos of you with dyed hair. 💗
Thanks for watching 😊
You inspired me so much! Thanks a lot. I'm 31, two months dye-free, and feeling like I'm no longer a dye slave 😊
Yeeessss😃. That's awesome to hear. Hope you stick with it!
Your hair looks gorgeous ❤ Your natural colour is absolutely beautiful
Thank you so much!!
you look SO GOOD. idk why young people with grey hair think they'll even look old and dull like... your grey hair just highlights how young you look.
Oh thank you 🙂
I actually love your grey hair! I coloured mine grey but it was so much upkeep! I honestly wish I could have permanent grey/silver hair. I have very pale blue eyes and pale skin xx
welp, you will one day lol.
I also had my first gray hairs at 17 and I'm 31 now too. A few years ago I shaved my entire head and kept it buzzed for a while. I wanted to get rid of all the damaged and dyed hair and embrace my natural hair color. You are right that buzzing your head leads to a long and awkward growing out phase, but I don't regret it. It's something I really wanted to do. So now my hair is finally just below my shoulders and it's a dark brown mixed with lots of silver grays all throughout. I also stopped straightening my hair last year and I have been on a separate journey of accepting my natural 2a/2b wavy texture. Whew. I've had ups and downs accepting myself and my hair for what it is, but I'm overall happy with my progress. 💜 Anyway, thanks for sharing your experience with us. 🙏
Yes! So many of us want different hair. My hair is straight, but I've always wished it was wavy. I think hair with natural texture is so beautiful. It's awesome to hear that you shaved your head. I wish I was that bold, but honestly, I think my forehead is too big to have a buzzcut hahaha.
@@MindMadeUp hahaha to be honest my forehead is pretty big too! It's another insecurity I dealt with when I was younger. I wore bangs a lot to try and hide it. But now I view it differently - I like to think of my big forehead as home to a bigger frontal lobe and I'm thankful for my brain! 🧠😌
It's beautiful! Keep it going!! It is such a relief to go natural and it will look so stunning at your young age!
Thanks so much! I definitely enjoy not colouring my hair.
