ngl the thing that makes me want this the most is the ability to like... truly 'turn off' your phone. like obv every phone can turn off but the idea that the screen totally closes so you dont psychologically feel like you can use it at any minute is amazing.
I agree! It's one of the reasons why I like having a smart watch as well, I read my notifications and don't feel the need to grab my phone anymore ✨ I tend to forget to reply completely tho, but that's a "me problem" 🙈
Iphones are the most reliable phones in the world, but that's it, there are so many limitations, with Android I'm tottaly free to install what I want, yes, at the risk of malware but that is my problem, also, Android handles files like a windows computer compared to Iphone.
Using the Galaxy A52 5G but just researching for my next phone. Most reports have the iphone 14s as having lots of wierd glitches. I might stay with Samsung.

I've had this phone since launch. Absolutely the best phone ive ever owned. Really good camera, beautiful design, surprisingly sturdy. I can't imagine ever using a non-flip phone again
I opted to buy a Z Flip 3 this year since the price has lowered. Although the lower battery life and lack of macro camera are something I have to adjust to, it is a really compact and beautiful phone for my teeny tiny hands. I'm excited to get another flip or fold phone sometime in the future :)

Absolutely love my Z Flip 4 ❤️ -Compact (fits well in my body bag) -Great Performance (buttery smooth) -Beautiful Design (i have the pink gold one) -Great Display (as Samsung always does) -Cover Screen Features (makes me open the phone when really needed, less useless time spent on phone 😆) -Flip Mode Features (as a phone stand, and screen functionality) I just wish the battery to have been better--have to carry a power bank on long travels. Samsung should introduce a Magsafe-like feature on their future phones. Especially on their Flip series. I installed a magnet ring on one of my Flip's cases and bought a Magsafe compatible power bank/external battery pack. It is a wonderful experience 😊

@Kylio DiAldio approaching 6 months already. Just be sure to keep your Flip's screen away from hard objects like keys. I accidentally dropped my keys on my Flip and it damaged the screen, Samsung however replaced my screen for free. I was just lucky that the Samsung service personnel were so kind.
@Get in there Lewis! Out, out out, out out out I do! Plus I have my mobile data on for almost 10h a day. Well because wifi isn't readily available at my locality. So I resort to mobile data. Before I got an external battery pack, my battery can last for an entire work day (8AM to 6PM). I usually have 10-20% left when arriving home and then just plug it in
@@KenLucon With my Galaxy S8 plus, I have to carry around a battery pack anyways, so this is a nonissue to me. I'm hoping to get my new phone by next month. Though, I might wait until the next gen comes out to see if there's any significant improvements from the last one. If it's practically the same, I'll just get this gen since it's the best of the flip phone market at the moment. 😁
I am obsessed with the Samsung flip 4 ! I have the 256GB version purple. But the hinge started making clicking noise just after 2 weeks . Sent it to samsung thr customer service was fantastic they covered it under warranty got a email today saying it was fixed and I should get it back Monday!!!! I'm so happy cause this phone is the best phone I've ever used and I miss it alot!!!

Been an iphone user ever since iphone 5 and i switched from iphone 13 pro max to zflip 4 because im just tired of apple icloud, its bluetooth that only works on apple products and its limitations esp with transferring files. I have to admit my life became easier plus i use this phone too to shoot fast moving objects and that it's very compact. Battery life is good too. I love thr camera as well, it had so many features. Apple just became so boring for me. I have been having so much fun with this phone and a lot of people find it adorable they alwYs light up when they see my phone! Taking videos in public are also made easy with its flip feature , i can place it in top of anywhere and use palm recognition without having to set the timer! The efficiency with this phone cannot be compared with iphone's repetitive design. The photos from this phone are also good
I've had mine for 5 months, and I love it! I'll never go back to a non-flip phone. That being said I hope Samsung makes the following improvements and IMHO these changes would make this the perfect phone: 1.) A larger outer screen to allow MUCH more usage with the phone closed. 2.) A better camera. The current camera isn't bad, but it could definitely be better. Add an optical zoom as well. 3.) A little bit better battery life. It is better than previous generations, but it still could be a little better. 4.) A less slippery exterior. This thing is slippery and could easily slip out of someone's hand. 5.) A less stiff hinge. It needs to open easier with one hand. It should be easy, smooth and seemless, and the screen touch capability halted while the phone is being opened. I sometimes inadvertently tap a button while opening the phone. The phone cannot be opened by the sides only. YOU HAVE to touch the top portion of the screen to push it open once you get the two halves separated. This has caused the accidental activation of applications. If the screen were easier to open by using the sides only, this would not be an issue. It needs to remain closed when closed, but EASILY opened.
I’ve been wanting this phone on and off since the 1st iteration and was really considering it before I watched this video. All I have to say is you’ve convinced me, I need the fun of this phone in my life instead of the boredom of my IPhone.
I had upgraded from a 6 year old LG V20 to the flip 4, so on top of the quantum leap in performance the form factor makes me feel I will never go back to a non folding phone. I think I will hold onto it as long as it lasts, hopefully at least 3 or 4 years, then snag a ZFold or competing device once it truly becomes the one device does all platform it can be.
I was trying to decide between the S23 and the flip 4, now I am convinced that I want the flip4. I really miss having a flip phone. I love the idea that I can put it in my jacket or hoody pocket without it falling out. Thanks for the review!
Loved my flip 4, for about 7 months until the screen stopped working. Despite never falling and no damage (only scratches to the sides of the device due to sand) to the screen/body, Samsung refused to honor the warranty and asked me half of the price I paid for the device to repair it. This was my first Samsung, I had fell in love with the device but the decision on my warranty made me never want to buy Samsung again. I have talk to many people with the same screen issue though 😢
i had the same issue with my screen when i close it it stopped coming back on when i opended it back up about 4 months old had to send it to samsung to get it fixed had samsung phones all my life but never had issues with them as far as that it is a good phone just hope it doesnt take long to fix cause im stuck without a phone at the moment
Had for 3 months and suddenly when I opened it a black stripe just pop out in the middle of the screen, right where the hinge is. It started to spread out and the whole screen got blocked out. Happily was on its warranty and returned it to the seller. Was fun to use but its a very sensitive phone.
Just got the 4, my 1st flip and loving it so far. Love the size & features. Been using an iPhone since I don’t really remember, but the transition isn’t too bad. Go get a clear one with a ring and a magsafe ring. And also get a magsafe compatible power bank. With this, you get to showcase your phone's design, it will be easier to hold the phone using the ring, and the magsafe case ring will make it easier for you to make a much needed emergency charge to your Flip when on the go.
There's alot of cute cases on burga if your wanting a stylish protective case. But If your wanting something super cute I've noticed alot of cute cases on aliexpress
The flip 4 still had issues of the flip 3. My flip 4 display issues started just a week after a year and now I will have to spend a good amount to fix it. If u do plan to buy this phone, then pls take a one year extended warranty as the hinge issue is there, and most issues will only happen after one year. For now, I am using the phone as a non-flip and that works, but if I do close the phone, I have to restart to get it started as the display does not come on.
I'm currently using the ZFlip3. I absolutely love it and I look forward to the 4. I have tiny hands so it is so nice not to have to struggle with larger phones. I love the flip feature for my handbag. It just is a all around better phone. Besides when I use in public IPhone users are so impressed but they try hard to deny it. It's just a fun slick phone with a ton of functionality that I have come to rely on and enjoy. Thanks for your review.
@rameesakhan5079 hello and absolutely not it's perfect. It's not heavy. You can actually talk with the phone. No problems in that way. I think my problems sometimes are how the updates come thru and understanding what that new update means for my phone. It's really a pretty resilient phone. I'm at the end of payoff this phone and looking forward to purchasing the next series.

Only thing that makes me nervous about my flip 3 is getting thin cracks along the seam. I'm upgrading to the flip 4 while it is considered a non issue but I love everything else about my flip phone.
About 10 years ago I had a Galaxy Mega it was about the same size screen as this phone but it couldn't fold in half.Oh my gosh I love the folding capabilities of the newer samsung phones.
I got my Z Flip 4 around Black Friday 2022, and I could not be happier. ...well, except for the fact that EVERY PHONE FROM THIS YEAR HAS NO HEADPHONE JACK
Have & love the Z Fold 3 but after 6 months went back to my S21 Ultra for that 10x optical lens camera. Love the fold feature and would love to get the Flip, but the camera set up on the Ultra models is too good (for me) to give up.
I chose the z fold 4 over the z flip 4 because I heard thar the folding screen was still not perfected on the flip (but it is on the fold?). Aside from that, the fold I purchased has 1tb of storage and that I need. But the flip has really got me interested. I love the little outer display. That being said, the fold 4 really ticks all the boxes for me. The flip would be just a "fun" phone,, - easy to carry, cute cases, etc - with almost all the charm and usefulness of the z fold and the s series galaxy phones I already own. If given a z flip, I would not turn it down, but I can't see spending money on an extra phone right now....someday maybe. It's just so....cute!
I feel like the lack of a telephoto and USB 3 / Dex is just so that they have something easy to add for the Flip 5. Otherwise they'd have to find ways to add some more features while trying to keep the form factor.
I remember them saying dex was a heat issue. And my 20 ultra gets hot so I kinda buy it. But I also wouldn't be surprised if you were right cause it's looking like optimized rn
It would be great to have telephoto and dex, if they give those features it would be a great improvement as they also have to deal with the crease, front larger display, battery, etc

I would get the s22 plus that's a pretty good Samsung phone now IV you do get a Flip 4 GET warranty you will probably need it. I'm using a OnePlus 9 phone as my everyday phone and although I want a flip 4 there's still that part of me that isn't ready yet for reliability concerns but if I had a flip 4 I'd get a backup phone just incase if I used it as my daily but at the end of the day it's up to you what you end up doing
But the big question. Can I hang up on a call by folding the phone? Got one ordered. My ancient Galaxy S7 is still trucking along, but its time for a new one.

The little rubber pegs missing at the bottom -- are you concerned with water damage? My right one is hanging on by a thread. Samsung said to replace it, they'd have to replace the whole screen. :/

I have had the Flip4 since 8.14.22. I really like the design... BUT I HATE that it has no SD port. (1) Smart Switch did not recognize my phone from my Macbook Pro. (This would not be an issue IF I could use an SD card.) After DAYS of Samsung tech support, Google-Fi sent a replacement phone. All seemed good, until it auto-updated from Android-12 to Android-13 -- and deleted ALL of my preferences. Then the screen kept going black and Not awaking. Also, in order to end a call, I have to OPEN the phone. What?? After Many hours again with Samsung, Google-Fi sent a 2nd replacement. IT didn't work in MANY ways!!! I am now on phone #4. Sadly, there is no way to keep Android-12 on the phone. Conclusion: This phone (at least My 3, so far) does not function well on Adroid-13. I am VERY frustrated and phone #4 is yet to be set up. For future design, I would also like a larger front screen, and an SD CARD PORT!!! BTW, I got this great case that is thin and has a metal finger loop. I like that a lot.
I love my flip 3. Just got my flip 4 today. No complaints yet except, You would think that for $1,000 phone, they would throw in a wall charger and headphones/ear buds.
If i had to nitpick one thing i did not like about this phone, though, it's the fact that this slippery phone needs a case. Outside of the case, I am scared to death of dropping it!

I have ordered a Flip 4 and am looking forward to using a phone that is small enough to fit in my front pocket as opposed to something large and vulnerable in my back pocket. Based on your review I will probably limit the need to open the phone regularly as my most important function will be on the front scree. I like my Zflip 4 but 6 months in the crease on my screen where it folds is getting a crack in it, waiting for a call back to see what they are going to do about it.
I'm glad someone bothered to ask about these downsides. On top of phones lesser than this having no reason to omit something like the telephoto lens still as they're just as useful as the ultrawide, but also these Z Flip phones still lacking DeX support to this day. I would think that it has something to do with the form factor of it being a flip phone but it's still a Samsung phone nonetheless. If the Fold iterations can do this with no issue, these Flips should have no issue at all.
I have an s21 but I'm considering switching to a z flip I think I'll wait until the next generation is out though just to see if they've made some more improvements
Does it have expandable memory like other Samsungs? All my iPhone users (almost everyone I know) are always complaining about having to make space for more photos... I have over 10,000 photos on my phone in my memory card. I take tons of pictures. I dont care about the 100x zoom because the pictures arent great unless you can hold the phone steady, but it HAS to have expandable memory and a kickass cameras/camera features for me to even consider it!
I was about to switch to S22 Ultra from S21 Ultra but then I gave Z Flip 4 a chance just to get a new experience and loving it. I'm using it for a month now and haven't got a regret moment besides that I have to use it in a certain angle so I won't see the folding area at the middle of the screen. All in all I am giving it an 8.5/10 :D

That's one of the few things holding me back from using these flip phones. But if I could use it but have a backup phone ready to go I'd definitely pick up the flip 4 but Im not sure if I trust it to be my everyday phone maybe my backup/ Weekend phone for fun. Had mine 6 months. It's not fragile at all as I had the same fear. Hinge feels like a tank and when it's closed you can rest assured it's safer than regular phones.
Great review, I really want to go to the flip but when tested out in the store the camera comparison against my S21 Ultra just didn't ait right with me. I hope that if a new flip is brought out that the camera specs are higher as I feel the flip would be a good to have to test it out in own day to day life.
my biggest drawback with this phone, and with any phone without this feature is, the lack of usb 3.0 support. I love having a phone that doubles down as an external usb storage device. With how compact this phone is, it would be absolutely perfect for me.

I have a OnePlus 9 as my everyday phone and I love it. With that being said if I could get the chance to get a secondary/ Weekend/ back up phone I would choose the Flip 4 for sure it's such a nice looking phone and I used it a few times it wasn't easy to stop using cause I was enjoying it. Samsung flip 4 is definitely a fun phone to use daily or as a backup phone
I notice you use the left hand when holding the flip 4. I believe the pressure on the left peg, led to its detachment. It happened to me as well, although mine is still there (just loose). Samsung repair center said no problem, but I ma not happy with that.
Would you call it a proper flagship replacement? I still don't see it as such since they always got less features than the S series just to accomodate the flip nature of it. Edit: casually just got to the part where you do mention its 90% oh well, maybe next gen they will get it right
Not a proper one, no. But if you're willing to make some sacrifices like losing a good zoom camera and a wider display in exchange for a much more pocketable/everyday friendly phone then this is the one. Comes down to personal preference by the end of it

Had mine 7 months. No issues. Just get a good hinge case. I am gonna be using it as a backup because my apple play and my communication works better when im talking with others.
With switching to Google fi from metro pcs during the new year change. Not only were they offering 400 off of the z flip 4 and going from 60 a month to there flexible 10 us dollars a gig of data. Even with all that and the 12 dollar insurance for the phone ( usually don't go for it but, with a folding phone might as well). It is around 40 a month with the 12 dollar fee per month for the phone it self. Still 20 cheaper then my last plan. Over all I love it for the price and can forgive the battery life since I always carry a battery bank with me if I'm out and about or going to work. With its fast charging I rarely notice the smaller battery. The camera leaves me something to be desired for sure but rarely comes up as a problem since I'm not one for many pictures. Over all 9.2 out of 10 with the 400 dollar price difference for me.
I have just bought a new z flip 4 of eBay for £470 is this worth it. I would rather stay one year behind Samsung flagship phones because they are cheaper.

I've had the same experience. I recommend downloading Cover OS which lets you use basically all your apps on the outer screen!

I never have any bad battery peformances on mine.
You must use yours heavily.
@Kylio DiAldio approaching 6 months already. Just be sure to keep your Flip's screen away from hard objects like keys. I accidentally dropped my keys on my Flip and it damaged the screen, Samsung however replaced my screen for free. I was just lucky that the Samsung service personnel were so kind.

Before I got an external battery pack, my battery can last for an entire work day (8AM to 6PM). I usually have 10-20% left when arriving home and then just plug it in

Though, I might wait until the next gen comes out to see if there's any significant improvements from the last one. If it's practically the same, I'll just get this gen since it's the best of the flip phone market at the moment. 😁
I am obsessed with the Samsung flip 4 ! I have the 256GB version purple. But the hinge started making clicking noise just after 2 weeks . Sent it to samsung thr customer service was fantastic they covered it under warranty got a email today saying it was fixed and I should get it back Monday!!!! I'm so happy cause this phone is the best phone I've ever used and I miss it alot!!!
Using my flip 4 for 4 months now as well. The battery life has improved so much since day 1 after updates, and video quality has improved so much too.
I've seen people say that the battery life initially sucks bc the phone learns your usage patterns and improves from there based on your habits. Do you from experience think that's true? I'm just curious cuz I've seen different opinions around

Been an iphone user ever since iphone 5 and i switched from iphone 13 pro max to zflip 4 because im just tired of apple icloud, its bluetooth that only works on apple products and its limitations esp with transferring files. I have to admit my life became easier plus i use this phone too to shoot fast moving objects and that it's very compact. Battery life is good too. I love thr camera as well, it had so many features. Apple just became so boring for me. I have been having so much fun with this phone and a lot of people find it adorable they alwYs light up when they see my phone! Taking videos in public are also made easy with its flip feature , i can place it in top of anywhere and use palm recognition without having to set the timer! The efficiency with this phone cannot be compared with iphone's repetitive design. The photos from this phone are also good
I've had mine for 5 months, and I love it! I'll never go back to a non-flip phone. That being said I hope Samsung makes the following improvements and IMHO these changes would make this the perfect phone:
1.) A larger outer screen to allow MUCH more usage with the phone closed.
2.) A better camera. The current camera isn't bad, but it could definitely be better. Add an optical zoom as well.
3.) A little bit better battery life. It is better than previous generations, but it still could be a little better.
4.) A less slippery exterior. This thing is slippery and could easily slip out of someone's hand.
5.) A less stiff hinge. It needs to open easier with one hand. It should be easy, smooth and seemless, and the screen touch capability halted while the phone is being opened. I sometimes inadvertently tap a button while opening the phone. The phone cannot be opened by the sides only. YOU HAVE to touch the top portion of the screen to push it open once you get the two halves separated. This has caused the accidental activation of applications. If the screen were easier to open by using the sides only, this would not be an issue. It needs to remain closed when closed, but EASILY opened.
#5 is what I was worried about.. I still haven't decided if I want to get this phone

@@Dilly972 No. Only an iPhone can use the Facetime program. This is an Android phone. There are Android apps that can do the same thing though.

I’ve been wanting this phone on and off since the 1st iteration and was really considering it before I watched this video. All I have to say is you’ve convinced me, I need the fun of this phone in my life instead of the boredom of my IPhone.
I had upgraded from a 6 year old LG V20 to the flip 4, so on top of the quantum leap in performance the form factor makes me feel I will never go back to a non folding phone. I think I will hold onto it as long as it lasts, hopefully at least 3 or 4 years, then snag a ZFold or competing device once it truly becomes the one device does all platform it can be.
I was trying to decide between the S23 and the flip 4, now I am convinced that I want the flip4. I really miss having a flip phone. I love the idea that I can put it in my jacket or hoody pocket without it falling out. Thanks for the review!

Loved my flip 4, for about 7 months until the screen stopped working. Despite never falling and no damage (only scratches to the sides of the device due to sand) to the screen/body, Samsung refused to honor the warranty and asked me half of the price I paid for the device to repair it.
This was my first Samsung, I had fell in love with the device but the decision on my warranty made me never want to buy Samsung again. I have talk to many people with the same screen issue though 😢
If you used a credit card to pay for it when you purchased it, just dispute the transaction. Thank me later. :)
i had the same issue with my screen when i close it it stopped coming back on when i opended it back up about 4 months old had to send it to samsung to get it fixed had samsung phones all my life but never had issues with them as far as that it is a good phone just hope it doesnt take long to fix cause im stuck without a phone at the moment
Had for 3 months and suddenly when I opened it a black stripe just pop out in the middle of the screen, right where the hinge is. It started to spread out and the whole screen got blocked out. Happily was on its warranty and returned it to the seller. Was fun to use but its a very sensitive phone.
My girlfriend went through three phones and each one, the screen went permanently black
My Flip 4 had been great. Only wish it had a telephoto lens and more usable cover screen, but Cover Launcher does add functionality.

Go get a clear one with a ring and a magsafe ring. And also get a magsafe compatible power bank.

It already has a built in screenprotecter, but eventually you'll have to send your phone in to Samsung to have it replaced over time.
The flip 4 still had issues of the flip 3. My flip 4 display issues started just a week after a year and now I will have to spend a good amount to fix it. If u do plan to buy this phone, then pls take a one year extended warranty as the hinge issue is there, and most issues will only happen after one year. For now, I am using the phone as a non-flip and that works, but if I do close the phone, I have to restart to get it started as the display does not come on.

I'm currently using the ZFlip3. I absolutely love it and I look forward to the 4. I have tiny hands so it is so nice not to have to struggle with larger phones. I love the flip feature for my handbag. It just is a all around better phone. Besides when I use in public IPhone users are so impressed but they try hard to deny it. It's just a fun slick phone with a ton of functionality that I have come to rely on and enjoy. Thanks for your review.

@rameesakhan5079 hello and absolutely not it's perfect. It's not heavy. You can actually talk with the phone. No problems in that way. I think my problems sometimes are how the updates come thru and understanding what that new update means for my phone. It's really a pretty resilient phone. I'm at the end of payoff this phone and looking forward to purchasing the next series.

Only thing that makes me nervous about my flip 3 is getting thin cracks along the seam. I'm upgrading to the flip 4 while it is considered a non issue but I love everything else about my flip phone.
About 10 years ago I had a Galaxy Mega it was about the same size screen as this phone but it couldn't fold in half.Oh my gosh I love the folding capabilities of the newer samsung phones.

Have & love the Z Fold 3 but after 6 months went back to my S21 Ultra for that 10x optical lens camera. Love the fold feature and would love to get the Flip, but the camera set up on the Ultra models is too good (for me) to give up.
I chose the z fold 4 over the z flip 4 because I heard thar the folding screen was still not perfected on the flip (but it is on the fold?). Aside from that, the fold I purchased has 1tb of storage and that I need. But the flip has really got me interested. I love the little outer display. That being said, the fold 4 really ticks all the boxes for me. The flip would be just a "fun" phone,, - easy to carry, cute cases, etc - with almost all the charm and usefulness of the z fold and the s series galaxy phones I already own. If given a z flip, I would not turn it down, but I can't see spending money on an extra phone right now....someday maybe. It's just so....cute!
I feel like the lack of a telephoto and USB 3 / Dex is just so that they have something easy to add for the Flip 5. Otherwise they'd have to find ways to add some more features while trying to keep the form factor.
I remember them saying dex was a heat issue. And my 20 ultra gets hot so I kinda buy it. But I also wouldn't be surprised if you were right cause it's looking like optimized rn
It would be great to have telephoto and dex, if they give those features it would be a great improvement as they also have to deal with the crease, front larger display, battery, etc

I would get the s22 plus that's a pretty good Samsung phone now IV you do get a Flip 4 GET warranty you will probably need it. I'm using a OnePlus 9 phone as my everyday phone and although I want a flip 4 there's still that part of me that isn't ready yet for reliability concerns but if I had a flip 4 I'd get a backup phone just incase if I used it as my daily but at the end of the day it's up to you what you end up doing

I have had the Flip4 since 8.14.22. I really like the design... BUT I HATE that it has no SD port.
(1) Smart Switch did not recognize my phone from my Macbook Pro. (This would not be an issue IF I could use an SD card.)
After DAYS of Samsung tech support, Google-Fi sent a replacement phone. All seemed good, until it auto-updated from Android-12 to Android-13 -- and deleted ALL of my preferences. Then the screen kept going black and Not awaking. Also, in order to end a call, I have to OPEN the phone. What?? After Many hours again with Samsung, Google-Fi sent a 2nd replacement. IT didn't work in MANY ways!!! I am now on phone #4. Sadly, there is no way to keep Android-12 on the phone.
Conclusion: This phone (at least My 3, so far) does not function well on Adroid-13. I am VERY frustrated and phone #4 is yet to be set up.
For future design, I would also like a larger front screen, and an SD CARD PORT!!!
BTW, I got this great case that is thin and has a metal finger loop. I like that a lot.
I love my flip 3. Just got my flip 4 today. No complaints yet except, You would think that for $1,000 phone, they would throw in a wall charger and headphones/ear buds.
If i had to nitpick one thing i did not like about this phone, though, it's the fact that this slippery phone needs a case. Outside of the case, I am scared to death of dropping it!

Great and thorough review. I have ordered a Flip 4 and am looking forward to using a phone that is small enough to fit in my front pocket as opposed to something large and vulnerable in my back pocket. Based on your review I will probably limit the need to open the phone regularly as my most important function will be on the front scree. I like my Zflip 4 but 6 months in the crease on my screen where it folds is getting a crack in it, waiting for a call back to see what they are going to do about it.
I'm glad someone bothered to ask about these downsides. On top of phones lesser than this having no reason to omit something like the telephoto lens still as they're just as useful as the ultrawide, but also these Z Flip phones still lacking DeX support to this day. I would think that it has something to do with the form factor of it being a flip phone but it's still a Samsung phone nonetheless. If the Fold iterations can do this with no issue, these Flips should have no issue at all.
I have an s21 but I'm considering switching to a z flip I think I'll wait until the next generation is out though just to see if they've made some more improvements
Does it have expandable memory like other Samsungs? All my iPhone users (almost everyone I know) are always complaining about having to make space for more photos... I have over 10,000 photos on my phone in my memory card. I take tons of pictures. I dont care about the 100x zoom because the pictures arent great unless you can hold the phone steady, but it HAS to have expandable memory and a kickass cameras/camera features for me to even consider it!

I was about to switch to S22 Ultra from S21 Ultra but then I gave Z Flip 4 a chance just to get a new experience and loving it. I'm using it for a month now and haven't got a regret moment besides that I have to use it in a certain angle so I won't see the folding area at the middle of the screen. All in all I am giving it an 8.5/10 :D

That's one of the few things holding me back from using these flip phones. But if I could use it but have a backup phone ready to go I'd definitely pick up the flip 4 but Im not sure if I trust it to be my everyday phone maybe my backup/ Weekend phone for fun. Someday I'll get a flip just not the right time yet

Had mine 6 months. It's not fragile at all as I had the same fear. Hinge feels like a tank and when it's closed you can rest assured it's safer than regular phones.
Great review, I really want to go to the flip but when tested out in the store the camera comparison against my S21 Ultra just didn't ait right with me. I hope that if a new flip is brought out that the camera specs are higher as I feel the flip would be a good to have to test it out in own day to day life.

my biggest drawback with this phone, and with any phone without this feature is, the lack of usb 3.0 support. I love having a phone that doubles down as an external usb storage device. With how compact this phone is, it would be absolutely perfect for me.
been an iphone user for last 13 years and just got switched to z flip 4 just cause i was just so bored with small small updated each year and with nothing new i was just ocassionally usiing my phone but now i got something new to play around, yes its not something more better over my 14 pro but i am liking something different and eye catchy.

I have a OnePlus 9 as my everyday phone and I love it. With that being said if I could get the chance to get a secondary/ Weekend/ back up phone I would choose the Flip 4 for sure it's such a nice looking phone and I used it a few times it wasn't easy to stop using cause I was enjoying it. Samsung flip 4 is definitely a fun phone to use daily or as a backup phone
I notice you use the left hand when holding the flip 4. I believe the pressure on the left peg, led to its detachment. It happened to me as well, although mine is still there (just loose). Samsung repair center said no problem, but I ma not happy with that.
I just got a pixel gone blank today. Right along the crease. It's still under warranty so it getting fixed for free, but still disappointing
Would you call it a proper flagship replacement? I still don't see it as such since they always got less features than the S series just to accomodate the flip nature of it.

Not a proper one, no. But if you're willing to make some sacrifices like losing a good zoom camera and a wider display in exchange for a much more pocketable/everyday friendly phone then this is the one. Comes down to personal preference by the end of it

Had mine 7 months. No issues. Just get a good hinge case. I am gonna be using it as a backup because my apple play and my communication works better when im talking with others.
With switching to Google fi from metro pcs during the new year change. Not only were they offering 400 off of the z flip 4 and going from 60 a month to there flexible 10 us dollars a gig of data. Even with all that and the 12 dollar insurance for the phone ( usually don't go for it but, with a folding phone might as well). It is around 40 a month with the 12 dollar fee per month for the phone it self. Still 20 cheaper then my last plan. Over all I love it for the price and can forgive the battery life since I always carry a battery bank with me if I'm out and about or going to work. With its fast charging I rarely notice the smaller battery. The camera leaves me something to be desired for sure but rarely comes up as a problem since I'm not one for many pictures. Over all 9.2 out of 10 with the 400 dollar price difference for me.
I have just bought a new z flip 4 of eBay for £470 is this worth it. I would rather stay one year behind Samsung flagship phones because they are cheaper.
