@@nomilktea000 Yesterday I switched from the Note 10(not plus) to this flip. I was a little hesitant at first, but after 1 day I'm falling more and more in love with it. I have small hands and this just feels better, even when flipped open. I was able to flip it open with one hand, but now that I have a case on it, that's much more difficult but I'm okay with that. I love having the front panel to do most anything with but mostly just to quickly play music, respond to text and make quick calls without even having to open anything up. Take your time, do your research, pay attention to the constructive criticism but in the end I think you'll be pleased.
My flip 5 will be here tomorrow. I checked out the Razr in the store and just seem like a toy to me in comparison . In addition something not mentioned much is the Samsung has full 5G mmwave, which is still a thing for someone in a big city to get maximum speed. The Razr is saddled with only sub-6. I have a feeling Samsung made two intentional moves that are garnering "complaints". The first one is they only offer a handful of "authorized" apps for that outer screen... yet with that app from their store, it opens up to all others. I'm sure that's theirvway of saying...we've sanctioned only these apps to work but if you want to go into experimental mode-- here's your pathway. Also, the 720p screen people are complaining about was likely done on purpose to try to save battery knowing its ONLY 3 in. You don't need a 1080 screen for a 3in display!
You're right about protecting the cover screen. I find using the cover display about 60% of the time since installing Good Lock. I will be adding a screen protector tomorrow to give it some protection. It has been great coming from the Flip 4..
I have the iPhone 14 pro max and I want a android, I’m thinking of three different phones one: Samsung galaxy flip 5 option two: wait for Samsung galaxy s24 ultra, or go for a budget phone: Samsung galaxy a54. But I don’t know what to choose.
I have an iPhone 13 pro max. My main phone. It still works smoothly & perfectly. I decided to have a second phone and chose the flip 5 in Lavender, for a change. Been using it for 3 days now and I love it especially the cover screen! I'm not bothered with the crease at all and honestly it's not noticeable when you actually use it. 💜
Welcome to the club guys😎🥂 I'm a samsung user since like 2017 I think and some helpful tips are Look into launchers, they're awesome (they change your entire UI of the phone) Themes are great to instantly change all your icons, keyboard, etc GoodLock is good for the purpose of the flip 5 OR anything you wanna customize that samsung doesn't offer in settings
I love my flip 5 pre ordered mine as soon as they dropped and have been using mine since it arrived on the 10th of August as my daily driver the camera is more then enough for me as I mostly am just taking family snapshots of my kids
I've only had my Flip 5 for a week or so and so far I love it. Had the Flip 3 a year ago and it was terrible. Screen protector cracked twice and and the external screen was next to useless. This one is a massive improvement and as long as the screen protector stays intact I'll be a happy man.
Putting a screen protector on flip makes the condition worse. There is no need to put a screen protector on flip phone because it's already inbuilt in it. If you will not put a screen protector then screen will never crack of flip
I’m really liking mine in the first few days, especially the folded front screen after downloading good lock, I’m 72 yrs old but still a cellphone nerd, I got a clear case and liquid screen protect, it’s handy and just fun to use. Looking forward to learning more features. Great review brother , thanks.
Over here in the UK, I got a Z Flip 5 through EE on a 24-month contract for £62/month with 125GB monthly data and damage insurance. Samsung ran a promo, which meant that I claimed a free Gadget Case, Charger, and Galaxy Buds Pro 2. Very happy so far.
I love my Flip 4 but once I heard the Flip 5 was going to have a bigger screen I waited patiently for it to drop. I traded my F4 so fast and once I got my Flip 5 I couldn’t put it down! Good lock helps add all the apps you want with no problems and if you love customization like I do it’s soooooo much fun ans will keep you busy just styling it alone. It’s definitely a head turner because people will be very curious about it. But I can’t say it enough how much I love the Flip 5❤Samsung did good with this one
I did the same thing that's awesome, I got a few smaller keys in the pocket scratches on the back that is glass,I bought a case on Amazon and now it's all good
@@Invintius No… I don’t toss my phone around or have my keys around it…my screen is fine. I still want to get a protector but right now it’s still good
I don’t get it. I never use the outside screen other than for the time, there’s nothing better about it over the inside screen. It’s just a bad solution to a problem that phones shouldn’t have in the first place.
I upgraded from the Flip 3. I expect to use the Flip 5 for at least 2 years. Using the cover screen a lot (Good Lock is a must have app), I have plenty of battery life.
just upgraded from the flip 3 to this. I was very close to "folding" and just get the Fold 5 but I feel like the 6 is gonna be the actual big change for that lineup. Either way this new external screen on the Flip5 is a game changer and I haven't even finished the data transfer.
This phone is for people who likes small phones but the good thing about flip phones now is that you have an option to make bigger. And this phone looks more premium maybe because of the brand but it really is aesthetically pleasing than other flips atleast for me.
It’s good for people who are able to overlook the insane amounts of terrible things about the phone just because it’s kinda cool. That’s why I have it.
I love my Flip 5. I dropped it once, 30 cm onto a carpet floor, so far it looks like nothing bad happened but it tought me a lesson: the device is super small but quite heavy and can fall out easily. I think I need a case with a ring. Besides that: it's so great to use it one-handed for almost everything. Deezer, UA-cam (music but also other videos relying mainly on audio), mySugr, public transportation, google maps, and so on. I use it folded like 90% of the time. And if I really need more, a super large display is just one move away.
Do anybody want to accept Jesus christ as your savior he want to give you love and peace and happiness and joy and salvation and eternal life of u confess your sin
One downside I noticed after using it for some time is that in term of replacing point n shoot camera, regular phone is better than flip. U avoid the 1 additional step of needing to open it first. Keeping it open is an option but u risk damaging the screen in case of a drop. Flip screen phone case don't have thick lips protecting the inner screen for obvious reason. Additionally although the size is cut in half the thickness is increased compared to regular phone. And while regular phone stick out near the lip of your pocket making retrieval easier when wearing fitting pants, the flip due to half of the size slip down deeper into the pocket making retrieval more difficult.
I went from the s9 to the flip 5, i work in a warehouse, lots of dry concrete, it still hasn't failed me, or taken on damage beyond dust accumulating under my case, i was originally anxious about the inner screens durability, but in all this time , used open and closed, left open overnight, the inner screen is undamaged
I have had mine almost 2 weeks. Coming from Google Pixels Samsung has,so many features and the services seem to work better for me. I made my cover display a little media player for while I am at work.
The hinge does feel like its loosened up after so many times of opening/folding but by far I love it. I upgraded directly from a Samsung Note 8. Battery does seem to drain out quickly if i use the main screen for mails and calls
As a long time iPhone user I think the form factor (flip) is the thing that could make me switch to android. But, since I usually keep my phones for 4-5 years, I am wondering about the durability of the inner screen, and the screen protector. I have not yet managed to find any tech channel that discusses the durability after 2-3 years. Maybe not surprising, since people who have channels like this have to test new devices all the time. But, perhaps you know anything about this anyway? It is an expensive telephone, and I would like to keep it for at least 3 years, befors I have to switch.
I think take how many times samsung says it tested opening and closing it, and divide by 2 for the worst-case scenario. Also normally there is a film protection that shouldn't be removed.. more prone to scratches?
Just got one of these this week and loving it so far, I traded "down" from a 22 Ultra - I just never used all the bells and whistles that the Ultra had (the spen, etc.) so I didn't think I would miss anything. BUT, there is one thing that I miss and that is DEX. I didn't use it a ton, but there were certain use cases for it. Although the Flip does have USB-C video out, it just mirrors the device screen, its functional but not as good. Other than that, its an amazing phone and you are right about the cover screen. With the cover screen designer I can make it look pretty much however I want and with the Good Lock Launcher, I find myself using my phone almost as much closed as I do open. I still can't flip it open with my thumb, just need more practice I guess ;-) Great review video!
I love mine, but have had a persistent issue with people telling me the audio is distorted in calls using bluetooth, happens randomly with 3 different pairs of samsung buds, all of which work fine on my flip 4. I am on my second phone, with a third on the way. Samsung support has been awful on the issue.
Coming from iphone 12 pro max, apple service to samsung services Yes! Samsung support is terrible!! My flip 5 won't connect calls to my car and i have sometimes to disconnect my bluetooth from my car then turn it back on for it to connect. Then it'll tell me I have no internet connection when I'm out running errands and that's solo frustrating also my phone gets stuck or frozen alot!! 😢 also the from display overheats ALOT for a long time of im using my phone to much or on face time.
I've heard a lot of people say that they struggle with trying to open and close one of these phones with one hand. I never had that problem. Not even on my Z flip 4, as sturdy as that hinge is.
Yes, crease is bothering me now, after 4 months of heavy use i am feeling like crease has increased and more visible. However, no complain in terms of scratches. So far no scratches at all.
I have loved the flip 5 since i bought it day one. Being able to prop my phone up, fold it down for smaller purses and limited pocket space in womens jeans i dont know that i could ever go back to a slab phone which was awkward and constantly in my hand leading me to setting it down and making it easy to forget. I have a D ring on my case for the flip so it can link to my bag, or jeans making it easier to not set it down to pick up other things
I am wondering what will be the battery life if you only use smaller display, can you try and make that kind of test, because I didn't see anyone doing it so... (Using only open screen for like calls) Same test like on bigger screen, youtube, web browsing, etc... Cheers
It was part of my obligation with the sponsor. This was the 2nd time I did it (S23 Ultra was 1st). The cases do protect these phones well for whatever its worth
I love the phone it's so cool that it folds and I love using it as a walkie talkie when someone calls me no complaints here Samsung did it again makes me wonder what's next for the next fold phone
I traded in my phone with at&t I had a s20 fe . Just had to pay taxes on it $60.00 THIS PHONE IS AWESOME! Definitely worth the upgrade if you got an old one take advantage of promos if you got s23 glad I didn't I would just wait for the 24 or get on the flip train cause it's just so cooler than any other phone that doesn't flip . Like these aren't something new this idea haa been around for years but the flip smart phones is like now I think getting more popularity cause how much they fixed issues on the old ones.
I have it and Its honestly the best of both worlds, I can have a compact pocket phone that I can check notifications and reply to messages quickly and then if I have to view something larger its convenient being able to open it up for bigger screen. Performance is very very good and the crease with the phone is to be expected you cannot have a screen that bends and doesn't have some give to it. After having it for a few months I can recommend it to anyone. For durability a lot of phone reviewers complain because they don't use any case, its very strong and any phone will scratch if you have it against a car key, the back is glass lol
I have both the 4 and 5, i originally was an iphone user until i decided to stop buying the same phone every year. Needed a change for once, got the 4, loved it, a year later i got the 5, i will never look back. Samsung changed my lifestyle completely.
The only downsides I have is *The camera is not as advanced as the Samsung non flip/fold flagship. *My service hasn't been the best(it may be Tmobile) and I have the problem with and without my galaxy buds.
if you happen to have an old Samsung phone just laying around collecting dust.. I'd be happy to have it or buy for cheaper price. I'm still using my s9. btw this phone is insane! I still choose this over all iphone tho! 😅☺️
I really want to get one! but durability and longevity still a big concern for me, as I generally don't change phones frequently, how is it looking in the long run?
I have been an iphone user since my first iphone which was the 4S when they first came out with Siri and last year I switched to the OnePlus 10 Pro and loved it but I got a deal through Google Fi on $500 off with that trade in for the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and I cant wait, it got shipped today and I will be getting it on Wednesday
Case that has hinge protection is a must for this phone. I have a flip 4 and 1 drop on the hinge completely broke the phone. Luckily samsung does cover hinge damage for a year or something.
Just swapped to the flip 5 from an iphone and so far so good (though it takes a lot of getting used to) thing i've struggled with the most is battery life How does everyone get there flips to last so long without a charge i get 4 hours max 🤷🏻♀️
Still the same battery output ? Or did you get it fixed let me know, currently on the fence cause of battery life and camera accessibility from the outside

I went back to Samsung after going back to iPhone to be one with every iPhone user. Hated that I went back to iPhone. Went back with the note and then decided to go for the flip 5. Let me tell you, I LOVE IT! Got the green one with a green case that goes with my green kia soul. I don't think I'll go back to the note as long as the front screen remains the same.
I love the flip 5 and although I agree with getting a protective case I see the one in the video doesn't have hinge protection. If you are like me and like all around protection then I highly advise a hinge protected case, a cover screen protector and the camera lens protector as well.
Casetify…the people who ripped off Jerry. Yeah. Never living that down. Get a d-brand or supcase unicorn beetle, if you want something rugged that protects the hinge.
I just got mine yesterday! I had iphone for 3 years and wanted to swich. I m impressed by the quality of the screen and the crease is just fine. All good with that. What I am not impressed is the face that the external display is overheating and it s not even used when the phone is full open and I am also concerned about the quality of the top speaker in conversations. Also in a conversation my father couldnt hear me with my z flip 5 but with my iphone 14 pro I had no issue. Is this the quality of sound in talking at the phone or my z flip 5 has a problem? Also another thing is that when I play music from youtube the top speaker is making the external upper body part of the phone vibrate. It s kinda weird if you keep your hand on the top part of the phone. So for me it is an amazing phone the display is awesome and the crease is not an issue but i am not content by the sound in music and also in telephone calls.
my flip 5 trying to unlock while in pocket, every time i take phone out of my pocket it keeps locking me out for 40min some time 1.20hrs saying to many incorrect attemp to unlock what it could be front screen or finger print sensor, i need help ,thanks.
How well does it stay open. Typically, I usually have a finger or so behind the top of my phone during general use. Could that cause an unintentional closure?
I've been with samsung for so long, but am now undecided as i'm way overdue and extremely reluctant to trade in my s10e. the new galaxy's are so large and heavy. i miss the days of one handed operation. a friend of my mine had the flip 4, also heavy. i like the idea of the flip but i may end up going mini 13 until they put these phones on diets. idk.
The base S23 is a decent size! If it was slightly smaller it'd be perfect, but otherwise it's really nice. I got the S23 after debating on a 13 Mini for a while & am happy with my choice. I got the Spigen ez application screen protector for it and applied it right after unboxing the phone bc the gorilla victus is prone to micro scatches (but more shatter resistant).

Respect for chucking your phone to test the cover 😂
It has been great coming from the Flip 4..
hi
Screen will break.
As an iphone user i waited for the flip 5 to switch and i love it, so impressed, neat design and great phone overall 😊👌👍
@@vinjehelene5314My vote goes to the flip 5 😁
@@G040 it definitely is noticeable especially when the light reflects on it . I wanted to like this phone but I don’t see the benefits
Welcome to the club guys😎🥂 I'm a samsung user since like 2017 I think and some helpful tips are
Look into launchers, they're awesome (they change your entire UI of the phone)
Themes are great to instantly change all your icons, keyboard, etc
GoodLock is good for the purpose of the flip 5 OR anything you wanna customize that samsung doesn't offer in settings
I have missed that thumb flipping since the 90ies. Now its finally coming back. 😄
Quite generous of you to give the new one a try after that experience!
Does the battery actually last all day
@wildbillcody it does for me but mostly for reading and normal amount of usage.
Putting a screen protector on flip makes the condition worse. There is no need to put a screen protector on flip phone because it's already inbuilt in it. If you will not put a screen protector then screen will never crack of flip
@@FURIOUS_CLOWN283they may be talking about the built in one. I had the 3 and the built in protector cracked pretty quickly just from normal use.
I’m really liking mine in the first few days, especially the folded front screen after downloading good lock, I’m 72 yrs old but still a cellphone nerd, I got a clear case and liquid screen protect, it’s handy and just fun to use. Looking forward to learning more features. Great review brother , thanks.
I had my heart ache when he started throwing the phone, and repeated HAHAHHA
A mini stylus would be DOPE!!!
I can truly relate to the customization part, and I love spending hours on trying to customize the cover n main screen every other day 😊
I did the same thing that's awesome, I got a few smaller keys in the pocket scratches on the back that is glass,I bought a case on Amazon and now it's all good
does the screen scratch easily
@@Invintius No… I don’t toss my phone around or have my keys around it…my screen is fine. I still want to get a protector but right now it’s still good
I don’t get it. I never use the outside screen other than for the time, there’s nothing better about it over the inside screen. It’s just a bad solution to a problem that phones shouldn’t have in the first place.
I upgraded from the Flip 3. I expect to use the Flip 5 for at least 2 years. Using the cover screen a lot (Good Lock is a must have app), I have plenty of battery life.
Upgrading from the fold 3 to the flip 5, pretty excited for a different form factor
Switching from iPhone to a zflip 5 and I’m so excited ! I get it tomorrow
just upgraded from the flip 3 to this.
@@jaredf6205 explain the terrible things to a person that is maybe considering one
@@jaredf6205What's terribly wrong with it?
@jaredf6205 I'm still deciding whether or not getting it, what cons did you find?
I love my Flip 5. I dropped it once, 30 cm onto a carpet floor, so far it looks like nothing bad happened but it tought me a lesson: the device is super small but quite heavy and can fall out easily. I think I need a case with a ring.
Besides that: it's so great to use it one-handed for almost everything. Deezer, UA-cam (music but also other videos relying mainly on audio), mySugr, public transportation, google maps, and so on. I use it folded like 90% of the time. And if I really need more, a super large display is just one move away.
30cm to a carpet floor. wtf are you talking about. that's not gonna hurt a new born baby.
Do anybody want to accept Jesus christ as your savior he want to give you love and peace and happiness and joy and salvation and eternal life of u confess your sin
Old School Runescape...I see you're a man of culture as well
One downside I noticed after using it for some time is that in term of replacing point n shoot camera, regular phone is better than flip.
I don't wear tight pants so I don't have problems with retrieval of the flip5.
Also normally there is a film protection that shouldn't be removed.. more prone to scratches?
which is better iphone or galaxy
@@angel-ij4xvGoogle Pixel or Xiaomi phones
@@angel-ij4xvthey both suck, way overpriced but go ahead and overpay for junk like everyone else does.
@@chrisramsey3603 oh i don't buy those dam expensive phones never paying those dam prices i get a free phone from a government program
I got this phone for a 18th birthday by far the most expensive thing I own but OMG so worth it that and I got a free samsung watch6 with it.
The sheer panic i feel when you flip it open by flicking it up. I still open mine slowly with 2 hands
@@alexgrandisondo a hard reset asap

is it better than iphone 12 mini when it comes to camera though?
I'm very happy with my flip5!
I love being able to use the cover screen as a mini version of my fully open phone!
Can i ask u how is it now ??
Is it still good ???
I picked one up about 3 weeks ago. So far I love it... It is a fun phone to have.
i want it. not for the features. i just love the size of it.
I am as fanatical about the Flip over all the Notes which i bought! It's not just different! It's half the size in your pocket! That is major!
I've heard a lot of people say that they struggle with trying to open and close one of these phones with one hand. I never had that problem. Not even on my Z flip 4, as sturdy as that hinge is.
Casetify steals designs from competing phone case retailers.
Yes definitely superior experience. Been using for a month, now confident enough - decided to switch from iPhone to this flip phone.
Hi. Does the crease bother you? Also how is the screen in terms of scratches?
(Using only open screen for like calls)
Same test like on bigger screen, youtube, web browsing, etc...
Cheers
Omg that's crazy my heart dropped when u threw your phone all those times she's so beautiful WHY?
It was part of my obligation with the sponsor. This was the 2nd time I did it (S23 Ultra was 1st). The cases do protect these phones well for whatever its worth
I was shocked when you dropped it. 😂
I like the part you thrown your Flip 5 to a concrete floor many times without hesitating...THUMBS UP!
I've always liked compact flip phones over conventional sized phones. I went straight for the Zflip5 and I love it.
As an iPhone user of everything Apple 🤦🏽♀️ I just ordered this phone am excited for it to get here .. thanks for a great review
I plan on playing OSRS on this device, glad to see you have it installed 😁
I need this for my mom❤ I gave her my Samsung Flip z3 a year ago she was super happy >\\< Imagine this new one!!😊
Best video of the Flip 5 yet.
I have both the 4 and 5, i originally was an iphone user until i decided to stop buying the same phone every year. Needed a change for once, got the 4, loved it, a year later i got the 5, i will never look back. Samsung changed my lifestyle completely.
This is very true
This is a life changer
The only downsides I have is
*The camera is not as advanced as the Samsung non flip/fold flagship.
*My service hasn't been the best(it may be Tmobile) and I have the problem with and without my galaxy buds.
Great review n comparison with the moto Razr plus. I bought the flip 5 n I love it
I just ordered one and I can't wait to get it
if you happen to have an old Samsung phone just laying around collecting dust.. I'd be happy to have it or buy for cheaper price. I'm still using my s9. btw this phone is insane! I still choose this over all iphone tho! 😅☺️
Thanks for vid. Do I need a case that protects the hinge? Or is that a non-issue?
You're a madman throwing that beautiful phone like that.
Did you like it? Are there cons to it?
Oh my god, you really threw the phone 😭
Waiting for mine to come in and I’m absolutely excited
Case that has hinge protection is a must for this phone. I have a flip 4 and 1 drop on the hinge completely broke the phone. Luckily samsung does cover hinge damage for a year or something.
I have to wait until march until i'm eligible to trade in my Fold 4. Since I had the Flip 3 and 4, i'm seriously considering getting the Flip 5.
Ok ok you sold me!!!

Any advice is it worth to buy flip 5 or s23 ultra ,disregard the camera zoom of s23 .. just wondering anyone using flip 4 hows ur screen guys

Thank you for the Good Lock recommendation. I've bought my phone a few days ago and I didn't know that I could add all these apps on the outer screen.
Kind of a pocket watch analogue, kind of an interesting way to see it.
My flip 5 has got some bubbles in the internal screen protector near the crease . Is that an issue?
I have a Note 10 and very much want to move over to the flip 5. So, do folks coming from the Note 10 miss their stylus being packed in the phone?

How is it going? The crease bother you much?
Crease doesn't bother me at all .
@shanesymonds you never mentioned any 'cons' for this phone.. I've some overheating issues, what's been your experience?
How well does it stay open. Typically, I usually have a finger or so behind the top of my phone during general use. Could that cause an unintentional closure?
I just got a free upgrade to my phone, but I really want one of these phones in the future. I may end up just going with the Flip 6 when it comes out.
just watching reviews as mine ships. So excited!!
I just bought one today. I traded in my s22 ultra. I feel the flip will be a better phone for my needs
I got the Spigen ez application screen protector for it and applied it right after unboxing the phone bc the gorilla victus is prone to micro scatches (but more shatter resistant).
would you recommend the Z Flip as a go-to phone OVER the S23 for someone who barely ever uses the camera?
