Aye. 35 year old family man here. But I will only be casually leveling while farming gold for the next year as I want to head into TBC with thousands of gold.
I always level my locks as destro with an imp. It's way more fun for me. Just send in the imp first, run a bit to the side then nuke the mob with shadow bolts / immolate. The mob might hit you once or twice but as soon as you get ruin you hit so hard. Ask a mage for some water though. You can still do the fear and dot strategy for elite mobs no problem. The biggest plus is you will do real damage in dungeons though. It feels totally gimped as affliction. Give it a try it's way better than you think. edit: And shadowburn FTW. It's so bursty, the total opposite of affliction.
Great Video! For the Weapon Swap Macro for warrior I would suggest /equipslot 16 One-handed Weapon /equipslot 17 Shield /equipslot 16 Two-handed Weapon Just put this all in one macro command. This way it is one button that will swap rather than two buttons and you only have to update one macro when you get weapon upgrades. Warrior all the way.
Feral tank: Early on, I feel it can be worth spending points from Feral Aggression/Thick Hide on Primal Fury and Improved Enrage (resto tree) to help with rage, with no Idol of Brutality until later phases. Or take less points in Natural Shapeshifting. Wolfshead Helm can be used for extra rage but I'd prefer an actual tank head, making up for the loss in armor from Thick Hide. Ditch the Emproved Enrage later, when bear has Idol and more gear/dmg for rage. Fresh hype rawr!
Could also argue for not taking Feral Aggression at all, putting 5 in Feral Instinct for threat and letting you take more dmg for rage. Often there will be a warrior around to apply a better Demo Shout anyway. Thick Hide obviously works to maximise your mitigation and is 1 of only 2 talents that help with this. Although it is an efficient way to increase armour without decreasing attack power, 5 in the talent only gives 370% armour in Dire Bear form compared to 360% without. (you really won't miss it)
NE rogues are good for HC, because their extra lvl on stealth allows you to sneak behind targets more consistenly, and their dodge passive helps to Setup talent (which is now make sense)- up to 45% chance to add combo point after dodging attack. Feral druid isnt bad at dps. You can put some very significant damage but it takes effort to power shift and manage energy ticks. Just know you'll be below warriors/rogues but everyone will love your crit buff
@Bighead_Caillou heavily research how feral plays. They don't play like anybody else and see if it's for you. It's button intensive to do it correctly, and if it's not done correctly, you miss a LOT of damage.

You're going to raid deep frost as a mage without Winter's Chill?..... On HC WoW this makes sense I guess because you only need 1 WC anyway and Ice Block could save your life but I 31/0/20 for Arcane Power is the way to go in normal Classic if you're not the Winter's Chill mage.
here is my disillusioned 2024-me speaking: if you do not care for hammering a heal button raid after raid do NOT pick a "hybrid" class. even after 20yrs, classic is still mostly governed by min-maxing neckbeards and you will have trouble finding fun in raids by trying "to pull your own weight" as boomie, shadow, enhance etc. wanna do ranged DPS? --> mage. melee DPS? --> warri or rogue. wanna tank? --> warri. period. it's called "vanilla" for a reason. even IF you find an open-minded raid leader: everybody else is already playing warrior. so you HAVE to heal. sry. vanilla/classic raiding 101: EVERYTHING is calculated based on how much you support your DPS warris. period. don't expect many open-minded people. game might be 20 years old, but guild/raid leaders are still 90% neck-beards. *warri = gods of melee DPS and best tanks *rogue = 2nd best melee DPS *druid = you'll either be the worst healer (even without buff limit) or you tank and spend hours each week farming crowd-pummelers (or you find one one of the rare guilds with a sucker for hard cases, ie boomie or feral DPS). doesn't matter tho. everybody else is already playing warrior. so you HAVE to heal. sry. *shaman = best support in-game, ie windfury provider for the warris. other than that: you'll heal, but at least you'll be good at it (unlike druid). elemental CAN be very strong (2nd best ranged DPS), but most guilds won't let you cuz of vanilla traditions. enhance? yeah, go to that guild with the smite priest and melee hunters. anywho. everybody else is already playing warrior. so you HAVE to heal. sry. *hunter = tranq shot. other than that dead weight (trueshot aura too weak to matter). *mage = best ranged DPS. conjured water/bread + sheep. *warlock = only one for curse of recklessness to buff warris. maybe 2nd one for curse of elements if you have more than 2 mages. other than that dead weight (even without debuff limit). *priest = most versatile healer. yes. you will heal. what was that? shadow? smite? no. you will heal. everybody else is already playing warrior. so you HAVE to heal. sry. *paladin = you will wear a pink skirt and heal by hammering one single button. unless you have to refresh blessings (every 15min). tank? lol. DPS? ja, together with the feral DPS and melee hunter in the guild that gets the server-last ragnaros kill. or you're some freak 1 in a million streamer-star.
Shammy is strong dps but he can't use abilities because they costs mana lol, that's the shame. For melee hunter/retri pala - only stupid leader would want dps with dmg below tank on his raid, nothing to do with open mind 😃
How is PvP on a PvE realm? Are the PvP skills of players that much lower? I'm assuming these servers are going to be big enough where we don't need cross-server BGs.
@@Apav1x ah there is just no world PvP meaning u quest etc etc without fear of being killed by other players nothing else is different u just PvP thru battlegrounds

Revive Pet is massive. If you've never tried it, please give it a chance. You want armor instead of pet health so that your mend pet is more mana-efficient and repairs more effective health
Just did that on HC all the way to 50. It's hard but on the otherhand it's also very very unrewarding. (Seriously you have nothing against spell pushback, your only form of reliable cc breaks randomly on damage and can't be used in half the locations of the game, you are constantly oom and whenever fighting you are more likely to be better off going bear or cat anyway up to moonkin at 40. Then it gets better but you are in the end still just spam casting for 3 seconds a mediocre damage spell, reapplying dots and have to drink after every other mob, you don't get any extra damage from your spells compared to other druid specs for casting until 35 and the spec specific buff requires you to melee (which due to being oom constantly at least isn't a problem)
Yes, and who cares. Unless you are in a top raiding guild, it does not matter. You'll be having your character on your screen 100% of your gametime, you'll be looking at dps logs 2-3 hrs a week IF you choose to raid

Rogue or Druid stealth is king
I always loved the AoE Mage, but I really don't see being able to do it on fresh with as many people that will be there fighting you to do the same thing
It all depends on the amount of layers, and if you're being infront of most people leveling. If so, then AOE leveling is possible :)
These days you do aoe mages in either a spellcleave instance group or soloing trash mobs in instances using terrain to stay out of reach. Only suckers try rounding up tanaris pirates and wpl zombies
Is feral Druid that bad at dps, I know warrior and rogue are king but I’ve never played the original wow and really wanted to main Druid and switch paladin when tbc drops
Feral druid isnt bad at dps. You can put some very significant damage but it takes effort to power shift and manage energy ticks. Just know you'll be below warriors/rogues but everyone will love your crit buff
@ oh okay cool
@Bighead_Caillou heavily research how feral plays. They don't play like anybody else and see if it's for you. It's button intensive to do it correctly, and if it's not done correctly, you miss a LOT of damage.
Mage for fresh classic and make a pally to 60 for TBC
guides only for a pve server, the best builds are talents for a pvp and pve hybrid like a demo warlock example
What was the names of Addons for mage again?
OmniCC and Bigdebuff
@@GuideMMOthank u my friend :)
on alliance paladin and on horde side shaman .
Thank you so much for this video .... I saw the classes and i almost fell asleep ... Only when i see stuff like this I realize how amazing we have it in retail.
tbc waiting room engaged
I'm more excited about TBC again than I am Vanilla.
Exactly, I guess it's also because we have had vanilla hardcore, season of discovery and season of mastery, and now once more.
TBC we only had once.
Torn between dwarf or ne hunter it will be my first time being an alliance hunter
NE look so much better and the stealth is pretty useful.
if you hate rogues roll dwarf. However the shadowmeld aim shot is pretty cool in BGs
@@tomrotelli1355this is the answer
Orc Hunter
Nightelf shadowmeld + aimed shot is just chef's kiss
Wish I wasn’t broke miss the good days
You're going to raid deep frost as a mage without Winter's Chill?..... On HC WoW this makes sense I guess because you only need 1 WC anyway and Ice Block could save your life but I 31/0/20 for Arcane Power is the way to go in normal Classic if you're not the Winter's Chill mage.
Can't decide...Mage or Rogue😪
Undead rogue for chads!!
Priest or shaman ?! 😦 can’t decide
Shamans will probably have less competition for gear in raids, but in pvp I like priests more.
@ that’s a good thought, and I believe a few friends of mine will be rolling melee so it’s hard not to be a totem dropper
here is my disillusioned 2024-me speaking: if you do not care for hammering a heal button raid after raid do NOT pick a "hybrid" class. even after 20yrs, classic is still mostly governed by min-maxing neckbeards and you will have trouble finding fun in raids by trying "to pull your own weight" as boomie, shadow, enhance etc. wanna do ranged DPS? --> mage.
*warri = gods of melee DPS and best tanks
*rogue = 2nd best melee DPS
*druid = you'll either be the worst healer (even without buff limit) or you tank and spend hours each week farming crowd-pummelers (or you find one one of the rare guilds with a sucker for hard cases, ie boomie or feral DPS). doesn't matter tho. everybody else is already playing warrior. so you HAVE to heal.
They'll probably have guilds that won't care too much, I can only imagine whoever is available to raid are the ones ready to go
Shammy is strong dps but he can't use abilities because they costs mana lol, that's the shame. For melee hunter/retri pala - only stupid leader would want dps with dmg below tank on his raid, nothing to do with open mind 😃
playing since 15 years and still dont know what to do tomorow lol
you always want 5 points in crit first when leveling a war, any spec
is anyone else having a hard time with /castsequence marco??
So torn on shadow or lock lol will be mostly pvping on a pve realm with some raids maybe
Torn on what race to play my horde rogue. PvP sever Orc or undead
I would go orc for hardiness against other rogues and warriors
I personally just hate how the orc rogues look. I much prefer the stealthy look of the undead rogue
if u plan on playing a lot of bg's . go undead , its literally like having a 2nd trinket always. if u plan on just wpvp 24/7 and dont care abt honor capping then go orc.
Orc female rogue, sexy af
If you wanna be tryhard and be optimal go Orc, if you care about looks and animations I personally like Undead a lot more.
Dont have time to play this
Game anymore, if you only have like a couple hours a day to play its almost not worth it
You gonna farm some black lotus on this fresh or xD?
I would take pet health instead of thick hide and revive pet
Revive Pet is massive. If you've never tried it, please give it a chance. You want armor instead of pet health so that your mend pet is more mana-efficient and repairs more effective health
imo lvling as 2h fury is better until you unlocked mortal strike
Thanks for sharing :)
Shaman part was half assed. Didnt talk about his abilities at all.
Harmstring kiting doesn't work very well in blizz servers. Guides are still recommending it lol
Prot paladin leveling could be faster for dungeon spamming
It is, but as one that spammed in 2019 and SOD, it’s a fate worse than death.
What do you mean 9% hit pve???
Hunters only need 9% additional chance to hit to be hitcapped for ranged attacks
Blood fury is only melee attack power in classic tho isnt it? Almost useless for hunters
Yeah, almost useless, beside in pvp when in melee range.
Full Balance Druid. Fight me
Easy duel 😅
We go AGANE
I'm thinking of rolling a Warrior, Human is the "obvious" choice, would I lose out on DPS if I chose a Nelf?
Yes
Yes, and who cares. Unless you are in a top raiding guild, it does not matter. You'll be having your character on your screen 100% of your gametime, you'll be looking at dps logs 2-3 hrs a week IF you choose to raid
I am torn between warrior and mage for pvp
Choose 1 and level the other char whenever you have rested experience, that’s my plan :)
Warlock section the longest :_)
