    I just wanted to take a moment to thank you so very much not only for your helpful, insightful video, but for sellling me the right rubber bands to fix my dolls. My mother started my collection after my birth in 1975. Now I’ve passed them along to my 7 year old daughter. 7 of the bunch are in much better repair now!

    Thanks to this video I was able to restring 3 Madame Alexander dolls that my mother gave me 50 years ago. This made them suitable to donate to a thrift shop that donates funds to help people achieve self-sufficiency. My mother would have been very pleased with this. Thanks for your help ❤

    Back in July I inherited about 200 Madame Alexander Dolls from my mother. I grew up going to the doll store with her and my grandma all my life. I knew what Madame Alexander Dolls were, and how collective and expensive they are, so I was shocked and heartbroken to find EVERY one of them had limp necks and loose limbs. Now I know with a little TLC I can get these Dolls back together. I'm going to look into buying some of your doll bands! Thank you. =]

      I am with you, I grew up going with my momma to all the doll stores and collecting these beautiful dolls. I will never forget the first box I opened a few years ago to find her head rolling around at the bottom, NO! So I made a mission to get them fixed. Start with one 8" doll and get the hang of it, then it will become easier each one you do. It's so rewarding to bring them back to life!

Thank you, thank you, thank you! ❤️ P.S. I bought your bands for the repair. Can’t wait to fix her!!

    Thank you so much. I had to repair my parents' wedding doll (an old tradition that now is no longer in practice - they were attaching the doll on the bride's car, dressed like a bride) and this was one of the steps. Since it was a very big doll, I had to attach the head to each leg, separately, for stability. I only had normal elastic so it was a bit harder, but managed to tie the elastic through the arm holes. For the right leg, through the left arm hole, and vice versa. Your video really helped me. Thank you!

    Hi Molly, Thank you for the very informative video, it is so thoughtful of you to share your knowledge! I did order your bands and when I went to restring my Madame Alexander doll, the doll was a bit different. It is from the 1950's and it is a ballerina named Gisselle. Her body has a bar through it and the neck has an s-hook attached to it. There was a broken rubber band inside the head, but there is no way to get it around the bar inside. It is a solid bar. I'm not sure how they got it around it when it was manufactured. Help! Thanks Kim

    • @jollymollytv
      @jollymollytv  2 роки тому

      Hi Kim, Hum.... I have not strung one like this yet, but if you can't get the rubber band onto the bar, try just attaching the band to the s hook in the head, then bring the rubber band down to the legs. The main goal is to attach the head to the legs. The s hook in my 8" dolls are in their head, and attach to a bar in the top of their head. Try that. Let me know if that helps.

    Hi do you know if the Arco Dolls of the World dolls can be repaired similarly? The dresses don't remove so seems like it might be a bit more difficult.... Hoping these are repairable as other then loose head they are in amazing condition

    • @jollymollytv
      @jollymollytv  3 роки тому

      Hi Chris, They would repair similarly on the inside, but the challenge for sure is getting the clothes off to get access to the doll body. They sure didn't think about the future when they chose to make the clothes not removable. If you have some sewing skills, you probably could remove some of the stitches to get the clothes off, then sew them back up by hand, once you got the doll repaired. Hope this helps!
