Thanks man, looks like I have a lot of work to do on my smoke😅😅 but I do struggle with the cancel, any tips ?….ps you earned a sub, well made video man 🔥💯💯
I've been learning this guy and only this video and one tournament player played him optimaly. Only use his meter for invincible oki and armor or breaker.
I use meter mostly to go invisible nowadays since I think smoke needs to go invisible to become a real threat. I usually do block strings into ex smokebomb with kameo to cover me as I go invisible and mix or after a combo to do a setup.
which strings can be Vapor cancelled and picked up with 32 or F12 1+3? I assume there are strings that don’t have enough hitstun to combo, but because the frame data doesn’t work it’s hard to tell.
Problem is that the cancel for most ppl is unreliable. #1 the timing up close is extremely hard for ppl to get consistently for some reason you can't buffer the the cancel, instead you have to do it in the instant that he becomes smoke and when you do get it you have to input the next camands at the correct timing or you risk doing your fallow up to late. #2 It may not seem like a big deal but the cancel's input being (back and right trigger) instead of just right trigger affects the possibility of a lot of people getting the cancel correctly consistently its mentality taxing to press so many inputs right behind each other whith a strict timing input that requires both hands to sink up at the right time in the middle (even though technically your right hand will be thrown off a little because the trigger reaches its true press way later than the left hands press thats just pressing a pad ps im only talking about controllers, think about it) and that's just in practice mode everything because even more harder when they try to apply this to online vs. All this to say it's just more easier for ppl to go for his combos without using the cancel specially when facing other characters that are not having none of smokes cancel problems when doing their combos their just playing the game lol
I think smokes cancels are one of the easier ones we've seen in mk games or fighting games in general lol, If you're having issues with execution and can't do the cancels consistently on hit and on block, you're playing smoke at a very nerfed level. Just pressing back and block to cancel a special is nothing compared to the fireball cancels we had in mkx which many characters had to use to be good in that game so I don't think smoke's cancels are a problem at all. Basically you can play smoke however you want but imo at a high level he relies on these cancels to become a threat and apply pressure or even get meterless combos on par with the rest of the cast.
@razorfgc7502 nothing you saying is wrong, though the fact still remains that in comparison to the other characters ("in this current version of mk") smokes Teleport Cancel up close forces one of if not the most hardest combo path in mk1, I don't know of any other character in this game where to get max combo damage the Execution is this demanding, no it not the hardest thing ever but you will drop it way more than any other characters cobo in mk1 and thats if you are doing the easyest set up into up close smoke Teleport, try doing down 1 or forward 1 into smoke teleport cancel into pressure and tell me it's not hard into. No, seriously, go on go try it, and if you ever get it three times in a row, I want you to ask yourself, Would you try that in a match... how you are going to feel about doing d1 or f1 into smoke Teleport in a match is how most people feel about doing it in his combos it's just not convenient to most players
Yea I agree that smoke is execution heavy compared to other characters but that's what I like about him. You can easily tell apart the good smokes from the bad smokes. Although it is execution heavy, the cancels give mindgames that other chars can't with just staggering. He also gets to launch from his low, his overhead, and his far reaching high meterlessly while other characters are forced to use a kameo or meter to do that. So in my opinion, it is execution heavy but it gives you tools that other characters don't have access to. @@TOILETPOOL
It's not really gimmicky, it's more of a guess. If they keep punish your cancels just don't cancel the next time and they will take the hit if they try to punish your for it
I mean sub-zero is a decent alternative since he grants u projectile immunity and can also stun the opponent like sareena but his stun scales the damage alot more and his projectile immunity isnt as good as sareenas knives imo
best smoke guide i've found by far
welcome back dude, thanks for the tip i knew smoke had a potential for big combos but no one discovered that yet
Dang, your cancelling is on point.
The dudes insane ive played smoke the last 2 days and I’ve just started to get the timing right but still failing 30% of the time.
@@TheEyeAbove same here 😆
I cant hit the cancel consistently when Im close to them Im struggling
I just started smoke I only use the cancel to close gaps but definitely will start practicing this

Great guide bro ill check this out later, been meaning to test smoke out!
Its been a while man 😄

keep uploading smoke content and you have a devout viewer here
Dude u are big brain! Love ur approach and courage. Keep it up!
You can als9 use overhead attack back triangle x then o it'll go from overhead to low attack then behind

Thank you! I really like Smoke and this will definitely help me step up my combos.
omg my goat is back
🤭
@@razorfgc my bf is the best smoke ever
im not@@jourios
Do you think you can make a tutorial on the cancels into combos? Like timing, or what you need to do in order to get the cancel consistently?
I found when you here the noise form the phase then press bR2
It’s called repetition. Go practice
Thank you this helped me@@Nickbeastly
Nice breakdown! Liked & subbed!
How do you do the faze cancel it almost most of the time enhance it.
can you make a tutorial for reiko, ashrah and havik please ?
if i pick up those chars ill do a tutorial but im not really interested in them right now, the next character ill probably try is reptile
It's really hard to do the vapor cancel
Guys definitely try Smoke and Sonya, slept on you can get some pretty fun combos with them
Can you do scorpion?
Good job bro! Everyone out just ex teleporting, wasting thier meter

F12, F32, B2
@@razorfgc awesome thank you so much
Gs homie
A+
How is that meterless don’t u have to hit block to cancel that move and back
Cancelling that move doesnt cost meter
Any tips on how to conect the grab more concistent from F12,1+3 after the two 32's?
It is tricky but you need to do the f1 sort of early where you hit them when theyre still really high in the air
is it possible to spend all 3 bars on more teleports for over 50% ?
im not sure I couldn't really find a route for it after the 1st ex teleport the 2nd one usually whiffs.
you can get 43% havent seen a 50 tho
@@razorfgcyou have to delay the first jump 11 after tele, then you can just loop another to ex teles, ive gotten about 55% with it
Seen a combo where you do f12 1+3 ex tele delayed 11, ex tele again then 11, ex tele again then 11. Hits for around 50%
Man i remember ur smoke from mkx. U like smoke huh, lol
Great guide, I just dont have that finger speed to pull that off😂

I just cant get the timing for the canceling:(
I just practiced the timing a bunch, I input bf3 and then after a small delay i press back+RT
Most cancels are really negative on block so watch with using them as a pressure tool. Don't get me wrong, its a really great move but kinda gimmicky

The cancel is not safe. I got low hit EVERYTIME i cancel, Which is stupid being that smoke main tool.
What move were you cancelling from?
@@razorfgc all cancels bro, all of them are negative, on block of curse
*promosm* 😇
Four mistakes , the match finished.
Its usually more like 2 mistakes since u can basically use sareena assist from every hit and get around 40-44% meterless
Sareena is just waaay too good, honestoy y hope she gets the nerfhammer
please, im tired of seeing sareena LOL
