Never was a huge smoke fan in past games but I really like his design here, on top of that he basically is a dash cancel character which are some of my favorite types of gameplay in my games, although the input method is different for his “dash cancel” it achieving the same thing and I also love that your using sektor kameo also what I like pairing with him I love the restand for smoke since he is heavy mix up character

Been doing really well with smoke in ranked he's fun af, Sareena ofcourse is a great kameo for him but Darrius is way more fun. Darrius can hit confirm and full combo off any of Smokes normal strings and if you mess up the cancel and hit someone with his B,F,3 you can full combo for 40% off that too, also allows for grab combos if you call in Darrius mid grab you have enough time to get a 25ish% combo off of a GRAB... Same goes for naked teleport if you can land it, you have enough time to call in Darrius and full combo no meter.

Please do a short or a video on how to do the Smoke cancel properly. I Can’t Seem to get it off after an attack
I can highly recommend to try Smoke with Darrius, might sound stupid but if u learn how to time his ambush assist you can go even for 80% dmg mix up combos!

I've been labbing Smoke today, too.
I kameo with scorpion to extend the vapour combos with a launcher after F12 to stun, and the keep up with F12,1+3
Really fun but timing is crucial.

When you hit those stand 322’s in the corner, you can usually follow them up with forward 12grab into the karambit toss

FYI, if you enter a combo with Sector as Kameo and hit right bumper twice, the missle with auto lock on your opponent to setup for another combo.
I think it’s Kameo button 2x. Once is just a down missile.

Waz, your Smoke is scary! I am currently using Goro for Smoke. You can kombo of setups you normally wouldnt be able to and build pressure.

Been debating for a couple weeks as to who I would main when I finally had time to dedicate to the game, once work permitted.... I think this might have pushed me over to the edge... as an OG OG MK guy, we naturally look at Scorp/Sub as the most logical starters, similar to a Ken/Ryu SF debate...but I have to admit that Smoke has alway been the Akuma of MK...so it might be him, just because while I think Reptile is super bad ass with the morphing capabilities, I am just not bought into that...find it a bit cheesy, but visually great. Truthfully tho, the balance of this game and legit distribution of mains that I am seeing online when I have the streams running while mutltitasking is insane...such a balance between old and older, strength vs speed vs everything.... like you could make a case for Cage and then Li Mei in the same sentence. Unreal work from NR.... I will admit too, I am an OG WWE fan too (ngl, I still watch it..), so I know back of my mind, Peacemaker will a DAY 1 main when his DLC drops....amazing content, man!

im ok with smoke but i just can't seem to do the dash cancel consistantly (especially upclose) are there any tips that you could spare?
Do the dash special, wait a single nanosecond longer than you intuitively feel like pressing b + block. The cancel input needs to go in before the animation for the attack starts coming out but after the startup. It’s tight timing for sure, but it’ll become more natural to you. Stick with it!

I think I found the answer… db4 is his low teleport. If you hold forward is cancels. I BELIEVE if you ex and cancel he goes invisible! Will try in the lab later!

Try Goro if you get the Shao Kahn looking mask for Reiko. It's a great team. It'll be like the good ol days lol. Goro as sub boss with Reiko looking like Shao Kahn.
Waz you should try out Cyrax with smoke. 32,32,11 (Cyrax assist on the first stab) J112. is a nice lil free 37%. B23 (Cyrax assist on the first hit) J112 is a nice 30 something percent as well. Also. 32,32,1114 is 31% with only 4 buttons and no directional inputs? crazy

Hey wax could you try smoke darrius assist it works quite well since he has a lot pf teleport strings that send the opponent in the air and darrius stuns them during that time
