Mark have you pressure tested your cylinders to make sure they are ok. Easier than taking the head. Check for oil on the cylinders. Where all 4 spark plugs dry when you took them out.when doing an oil change check for particle in the oil, may feel gritty between fingers.Check to see if your getting the right amount of fuel to each injector. Check fuel filter.
Compression check, and check you are getting a spark at each plug. Exhaust blowing badly is not going to help identify the problem (and if there is a leak in the exhaust before the lambda probe it could be making a mess of the mixture)
Looking at your video again, I realised did you flush out the old oil and change the oil filter because if there is sludge circulating, ( don’t know how it has been standing) it would explain oil in your air filter,it would have passed the pcv valve on top the engine. You may still get oil going back into the filter because of the oil problem just explained
I had an r56 jcw mini with an oil leak. Ended up being from the rocker cover, so once i replaced that it stopped leaking. Be careful if you do replace it though because during replacement I spilt oil on the drive belt, so the car ended up cutting out after 15 miles and had to get recovered 😂

Pressure test before spending any more money could be a cracked valve.
@@octocopter1293 thank you! all of the spark plugs were dry when I took them out. Appreciate all of the advice. I'll keep these all in mind
This looks a interesting project Mark
More interesting than I would have wanted Raj haha

thank you Katy! I'll give these a try as well

I’ve not flushed the old oil yet. That will be my next job hopefully and check what you mentions 🤞🏽🤞🏽

Good shout. Thank you brother. I’ll be checking the rocker cover on mine
