The first teaser trailer for Joker: Folie à Deux was recently released and became the highest-viewed trailer in its first 24 hours for Warner Bros. since the smash hit Barbie. Joker was a runaway hit for DC in 2019, earning over $1 billion at the box office and becoming the highest-grossing R-rated movie of all time. Joaquin Phoenix won an Oscar for his performance as the titular character and returns for Joker: Folie à Deux alongside Lady Gaga as a completely new take on Harley Quinn.
There's no way to know if Joker: Folie à Deux will reach the same critical and financial heights as its predecessor, but the movie's first teaser trailer certainly bodes well. If the musical aspects are well executed like they were in the first movie, Joker: Folie À Deux could become another massive success for DC and Warner Bros. After a string of box office disappointments for DC, this would be huge for the comic giant's cinematic reputation.

I dunno, I'm starting to think Harley is just going to be a figment of his imagination. Even in this trailer, he starts going up the stairs as himself and gets to the top as Harley. She may be a doctor he fantasizes about, no way to know yet. But the trailers seem to point to her being mostly imaginary.
This movie will either be greatness or one of the biggest cluster bombs in history.

I think the MVP of this movie will probably be Hildur Guandotittir (sp?). She’s gotta adapt all these songs for Gaga and Phoenix (presumably) and make them epic and she’ll probably play cello on most of them. I think I’m looking forward to the soundtrack as much as the film.

I got so used to seeing Margot Robbie's adaptation for Harley Quinn. I think that's obvious to any fan, apart from it being the first in live action, but it doesn't matter, I hope to see Lady Gaga as Harley and her interpretation for the plot.

It's stated in the screenplay that Arthur is 30 in the first movie, while Bruce is 10.
In the comics, Bruce became Batman around his 24's, so Joker is 44yo.
20 years is a significant difference. Phoenix is almost 50.

I made it an hour into the first part of Dune until I fell to sleep from boredom and have not gone back to finish. Ship flies in and people come out to make a speech then get back in and flies off, another ship comes and does the same thing. Does this and to top it off a ship then comes from the ground! instead and does the same thing. So boring...but Deadpool? His bar is the highest, he's LITERRALLY got the whole MCU on his shoulders! If this, Punisher or Dare Devil fail the fan backlash will bankrupt Disney .
An origin story for the Joker is near sacrilegious. The mystery of his origin is what makes him who he is not the knowing of it. He is more sinister because of the veil over his beginnings.

Baz Lurman's "Moulin Rougue" was a huge hit, so there is a precedent for a dark story being told against a pop-musical context. Also, "Dancer in the Dark" starring Bjork was a musical that was very disturbing.
