    I stock up on butter in the summer. Butter is local and dairy cattle graze, ergo, grass fed. The label doesn’t have to say it. I freeze my annual supply, about 40 lbs.

    Thanks for the info as always. I haven't joined Costco yet, but I'm inching closer. I only put milk in my coffee, but I drink a lot of coffee so I'll be choosing the Organic A2. I don't use that much butter, so the price difference between the Kerrygold & the Kirkland won't make that much of a difference to me. Unless the Kirkland has an unsalted option, I'll be choosing Kerrygold. I wish I liked eggs, but I really hate egg whites. Do you have an opinion on whether or not it's healthy to just eat the yolks?

    • @healthylivingrite

    In my opinion, we project Costco , as a best option, for our daily needs. But Try & make a parallel study case at Aldi.
    There milk is$2.52.
    Eggs USDA certified $1.98
    Unsalted Butter $7.96 for 4/ now it has gone up
    Onion Red $1.99 ( 3 Lbs)
    & many more list is long.

    Ultra pasteurized is not a good choice for milk. It denatures the protein and makes the casein slightly less digestible. Costco's organic milk is ultra pasteurized. It also won't work well if making Keifer.

    • @healthylivingrite
      @healthylivingrite  3 місяці тому +1

      I agree but these are the only options at Costco. The video was for Costco shoppers. I personally drink Raw Milk and Raw Kefir but I purchase those from other places.

    • @healthylivingrite
      @healthylivingrite  3 місяці тому

      There is no real data supporting organic UP milk not being a healthy viable option.
      When milk is heated at temperatures range from 70 to 100°C, the whey protein, which mainly includes α-lactalbumin (α-La) and β-lactoglobulin (β-Lg), can denature due to heat treatment, while the structure of the casein micelle is not obviously changed. It's actually Whey protein, with poor thermal stability that will denature under heat treatment with different denaturation degrees.

    • @rochelles.8387
      @rochelles.8387 3 місяці тому +1

      @@healthylivingriteI'm guessing it is more than the whey protein being denatured at the higher temperatures. I know it isn't recommended for Keifer and if the Keifer can't thrive on it I'm betting humans can't either. Just my opinion. Each person must choose what he or she wants to eat and drink.

    How many vitamins and minerals are destroyed in milk through ULTRA pasteurization? And is it even necessary? When making homemade yogurt it’s best not to use Ultra Pasteurized milk since I have to heat the milk to boiling point. Makes sense.

    • @healthylivingrite
      @healthylivingrite  2 місяці тому

  • @markmueller5825
    @markmueller5825 2 місяці тому

    I love that you mentioned raw milk. I grew up on a farm and ultra pasteurized milk is so bad for you - no matter if it's organic or not. Raw milk from a reliable source it's the best way and if you can get your hands on goat milk, even better

    • @healthylivingrite
      @healthylivingrite  2 місяці тому

      Raw is the best! Like most of nutrition, it's a touchy subject and that's why I show all options and let you the viewer decide what's best for your body. I drink Raw Kefir daily along with raw milk and cheese. I feel amazing at 50 more so than ever in my life. The pasteurization of milk definitely kills so much good stuff but milk is still and excellent source of nutrition and a complete protein source.
