I always learn something new from your videos! In this particular vlog I learned about “organic natural flavors”. It’s SOOO hard to avoid all bad ingredients, you truly are realistic in what you teach and letting people know options 🎉🎉
Thanks for sharing!! I have learned that small steps are better than none. I want to be realistic and show that everyone has options. It is still very hard to find clean foods and companies are getting better at hiding the bad unfortunately. I love hearing such positive stuff, thank you and be well!
Thank you for your informative information on clean food items. I am new to purchasing and eating "clean food" due to previous cancer. Your videos help me alot in getting informed on what to buy and reading labels. Thanks so much.
That was a great easy video to watch! I'm going to try the Slice Steak and the Coconut dessert! And the Organic Blueberries are great with Greek yogurt.
Those frozen wild blueberries from Costco are a great deal. And wild blueberries taste so much better than the cultivated blueberries (which are way bigger).
You got that right! Just so much better for us, I would love to have them growing around my area. Lol Foraging for wild blue berries would be so fun but for now we settle for Costco. 😬
The only problem is that in making my vitamix smoothies, the larger organic blueberries are sweeter, bigger and mixes way better than the smaller and drier wild blueberries. Big difference in texture and taste. The wild ones are just not tastier whether on smoothies or over waffles.
Try using a little Stevia and when I make Ezekiel French Toast I will put the blueberries in a small sauté pan frozen with monk fruit and they become a great little blueberry reduction.
Thank you so much. I would have overlooked a few of these items without the good information you provided. You reminded me of what I like about Costco, and it is very much appreciated.
Very good information. Thank you. You have earned another subscriber and I’ll encourage anyone and everyone to subscribe to this channel. Marketing is a tricky thing when it comes to the food we are encouraged to buy and consume. It’s a minefield out there! Matter of Fact, it’s out of control. I recently went to our local Publix grocery store, had my grocery list, but decided to go isle by isle and read the ingredients on every label, making sure I did not put anything into the buggy that had anything bad in the ingredients. #1, doing this took a great amount of my time. #2, I found out that actually buying good food w less ingredients ended up costing more money and time. #3, and this is a big one, I ended up with only 5 Total items in my buggy out of a 42 item list, I was absolutely blown away by the marketing labels vs actual ingredients. You see, I have trusted the FDA etc., and have often bought food based on what the front of each package had written on it, Huge mistake as they are Very Misleading!!!!!!! So nice to see someone w real knowledge that will point out both the marketing of pure crap and what’s actually good for our mind, body and health. I appreciate you taking the time to read the labels and give us this valuable ingredient information.
Wow! What an amazing comment and compliment!!! Thank you so very much! I have had people tell me that after learning the rules of label reading, how much more time they spend in the stores but they are so thankful for the knowledge. I am one of those people who really enjoys being at the store. I have a Publix across from where I live but I rarely go. They are largely focused on unhealthy brands or if it is healthy you will spend a fortune buying it. I am so happy to hear comments like yours, Thank you for joining the team!!!🥰
thank you so much for calling out the premier protein, I had bought it maybe 2-3 times by just looking at how much protein it had and had no idea it included all those ingredients. Makes sense that I have IBS and I would feel bloated after drinking. Ditched it a few months ago, but never going back
You're so welcome! I am guilty of drinking them myself many years ago when I was just focused on convience. The great thing is, you have changed it and hopefully improving on the IBS. Thanks for the comments Reyna!
We LOVE the Premier Protein shakes, caramel and chocolate. I’m so disappointed that they are so bad. I need a keto shake I can grab and go. What brand do you recommend then?
I lived in Canada and every year our small family would pick wild blueberries in the. Forest. Wild blueberries are actually very tiny and low on the ground. Not sure what kind of bushes they found these ones on!
I'm single and diabetic, all I can do with those giant fruit packs is make wine. I'm not big on pre-cooked, canned or frozen meat. Dextrose is brewery sugar. I hate all those chalky shakes! If I find them thrown out, I add them to my beer kits as a malt.
I also just found your channel and I’m happy to be a new sub! I have all the same criterion as you do for choosing what to buy and make. I have done a lot of research and you are spot on. I also hope you do more healthy quick meals like the chicken fajitas. I think you know as much or more about nutrition as Bobby from Flav City (the OG) and I truly believe your channel should become as popular! 👍
Lorrain you are so sweet! Thank you for such amazing words of encouragement. If I help people eat better and make better choices, I have succeeded. People like you keep me smiling....Thank yo so very much! Welcome aboard!🥰
Just found ur channel and I absolutely love ur style. Your voice is amazing! I love those dark chocolate coconut treats. I have one after dinner every afternoon and it satisfies my sugar cravings. I am def going to see if my Costco has the drinks you showed. I had no clue about the artificial flavors. I watch another you tuber who has put the fear of God in me when it comes to that lol. I drink a gallon of water daily and sometimes crave something different. Great video I subbed!!!
Thank you so much!! I was having a challenging day and then reading such a wonderful compliment, you truly put a smile on my face. Thank you for that! 🥰 I think we can make small incremental changes that will have vast positive implications. If having natural flavors over loads of added sugar or seed oils will be the determining factor. I say give me natural flavors. It has to be realistic to be able to adhere to making healthy changes. I applaud anyone who is trying. Thank you for such positive words of encouragement and thanks for joining the team!
First time I saw your video better. Walk thru then I usually see good information I go to cast o often saw things I'll get with this if good video I did surscribe
Might be hard to find but I will definitely keep my eye out. You know I'm all about the importance of protein. RTD's I'm assuming? I'm going to join Sam's Club, maybe they have good options.
It's tough not eating them all...Lol I find them pretty satiating, there are similar products at Aldi. I'll be doing a video ASAP, I'll make sure to include them.
Definitely more to come, I'm just getting warmed up...still learning the video production side of this, the nutrition is easy for me. I love talking about it and if I can help just one person I have succeeded. Thank you sooo much for such positive feed back!
Glad you think so! Thanks for watching! I'm getting better, learning to get the lighting and audio correct. The nutrition is easy but production side of the video is a work in progress! Lol...😬
I will try to include some of the studies and literature in the future. I read so many different publications during research. Thank you for feedback and watching!
Very informative! Always looking for low carb ideas. Snacking is always the hardest part especially when craving sweets. BTW, where do you get your t-shirts?
So true! I usually have the hardest craving for snacks on the weekend. I make Saturday a cheat day and this gives me something to look forward to and after Saturday I look forward to going back to normal routine. The T's are either GoodLife or Lulu. I find them most comfortable. Thank you for watching!
I mean, this is all great learn about all the stuff that Costco has but there’s one thing that most people that do this don’t say every Costco is different. What you see on this video is not right go to Sarasota or the one in Fort Myers. I never see any of this stuff that you put on there or the deal guy put on there, everything at Costco is different
Thank you! It's very unfortunate that so many Costco's have different inventory. I have shopped at the Boca location and it was loaded with great stuff. I was just shooting video today at Costco and some of my favorite items that have been discontinued are back. Go figure...Hopefully one day I can travel to different regions, I honestly love that.
If it's something that will help you meet your protein goals then I would do it. The protein is just so important, there are ingredients in the Fairlife I try to avoid but the macros take priority over the minors.
It makes a little extra work but I have gotten my cast iron skillet really hot and seared the sirloin just before making dinner and it was nice! I love playing in the kitchen so I didn't mind. They are also great for meal prep. If you do the numbers, way cheaper than eating lunch out if you don't work from home. Thanks for watching and the info, I love it!
I’m from Ukraine and we have a lot of natural food. Moving to USA now it’s a challenge to find good food with good ingredients. Thank you for your channel. Running this week for chocolate coconut cup for sure)) P.s.: you mentioned that without antibiotics it’s not that organic. I’m always confused what chicken or beef to buy. Specially beef in Costco, looks great but there is no tag what kind of meat is it (in raw sections). Will be happy to see video about meat in Costco. 😊
I prefer grass fed only but in the us there are three different levels of organic - “100% organic,” “organic” and “made with organic.” “100% organic” means that all ingredients are organic, and no non-organic ingredients or processing aids are used. “Organic” means that 95% of ingredients are organic and the remainder of ingredients are approved for use in organics. For a product to carry the USDA organic label, an accredited third-party certification body must verify that the product meets the 100% organic. Both the “organic” or “made with organic” claims will be clearly labeled but not as USDA 100% organic.
The Ascent from Costco isn't bad tasting and it is pretty clean but I prefer Grass Fed Whey from Levels. Unfortunately not a product from Costco. Try to find as few ingredients as possible with no sugar.
Hope to find the organic chicken sausage at my local Costco - so far, no luck. Please be advised that food producers are not allowed to add antibiotics or hormones - this is a marketing gimmick similar to cage-free chickens. A brief tutorial on TPT - total parenteral nutrition - salt, minerals, vitamins, amino acids, lipids, glucose - is used, for example, when the GI tract is nonfunctional, GI bleed, there exists an absorption impairment, patient is in a coma, cancer patients, patients with acute pancreatitis, etc. The patient is assessed before TPN commences - doctors, nurses, pharmacists, registered dieticians evaluate lab data, patient condition, etc., to determine the formula & infusion rate. TPN is never glucose-only as this is not considered nutrition. IV dextrose is used in emergency situation when a persons blood sugar is dangerously low, they cannot drink/eat/swallow, & their life is threatened. IV Dextrose is also used in those with high potassium levels as this can cause a deadly (heart) dysrhythmia. Dextrose is added to IV solution in certain circumstances such as severe dehydration, a prolonged period of vomiting and/or diarrhea.
Audrey, Thank you so much for watching and your feedback. I love your attention to detail and vast knowledge of current TPN practices. I unfortunately came across many cases while working with infusion companies where glucose abnormalities (hyper- or hypoglycemia) and liver dysfunction became big problems both with TPN and PPN (peripheral parenteral nutrition). BTW, I love the logo on your channel. "Warroom Posse" The marketing gimmicks are sad and out of control, I still get fooled from time to time. We are never to old to learn. Best Regards!
I looked at both and I'm not a fan of either due to the super high sugar and the Orgain has Sunflower oil. I'm assuming you're trying to gain size or weight? I always suggest making sure your number one macro is being met. Typically at 1to1 ratio (gran per pound of body weight). Please try to avoid sugars and seed oils whenever possible. Thanks for watching!
Thanks! My teenager son has a very hard time gaining weight. He isn’t hungry in the mornings so I make him a healthy smoothie with the Orgain, it has only 1 gram of sugar. But it does have organic sunflower oil though…
I totally understand, I have a teenager who is into fitness. I always tell him to focus on high caloric nuts and proteins. I think dirty bulking just creates bad eating habits. Sounds like you're doing a great just making sure the proper nutrition is provided. Check out Ascent Protein at Costco, at least there isn't any bad oils. Add some good nut butter and grass fed milk. That would be a solid shake, high in calories. Best of luck and nice chatting with you...
@@healthylivingrite thanks again! Actually that’s the protein that I’m buying now, Ascent 😊, and I add organic milk, almond butter and Greek yogurt. I guess I’m already making a healthy shake for him 😊
Well that can be a loaded question but I will just say that I personally will not consume any Canola (aka Rapeseed) Sunflower or safflower oils. I keep it fairly basic with just Avocado, Olive and Ghee all depending on the need. I have found that after eliminating the seed oils I feel 1000x better and can always tell when I go out to a restaurant if they use seed oils by the way my body feels almost immediately afterwards. The inflammation is very real...
Costco 92101 is not allowing substitute products that stay and don't get removed after few months for food allergies like wheat and whey products. So I have to shop elsewhere for half my groceries. Just a shame
I personally use Levels Grass Fed Whey. I love the taste and very clean however I could probably drink anything just knowing the importance of meeting my protein goals.
If you're under certain dietary restrictions for HBP or hypertension, definitely follow any guideline set by your physician. I typically don't focus on sodium due to a very low carb diet, strenuous gym work outs and sauna sessions. However I do think the majority of people who consume ultra processed foods and beverages need to be cautious with sodium. Keep in mind that more than 70% of the sodium Americans eat comes from packaged, prepared and restaurant foods - not the salt shaker. I hope to help change this through consumer education. Thanks for the feedback, I do appreciate it greatly!
No, defrosting changes nothing. The consistency will be a little wet but nutritionally they will be superior to standard organic. Try mixing them into some yogurt for a power packed protein snack.
Now I have to try that, I can't find any healthy jams. Allulose is great! Costco had it briefly, now gone like so many other goodies... your recipe sounds amazing! Thanks for sharing Kathy!
Well that's a loaded question and I can often go down the rabbit hole..Lol With that said, Fairlife Elite has 2 very ugly ingredients (Acesulfame Potassium, Carrageenan) both disrupt the GI and microbiome and at the end of the day I put my gut first along with protein. RTD's are tricky. Orgain's Organic Protein Grass Fed Protein Shake is the lesser of the 2 evils but it does have Sunflower Oil. I'm sorry if this wasn't very helpful. I will look into doing a video on protein shakes soon.
Will do, right now I'm a one man show so holding the camera and the product makes it hard to point. As time moves forward I hope to have someone do filming. Thank you for the feedback!
Love your videos. Thank you. I am pre diabetic so thank you 😊
Well thank you, I appreciate your feedback and watching. I will be doing many more videos for diabetics. Have a great week!

So sweet to say, Thank you! I'm glad you found it helpful!
Thank you for your informative information on clean food items. I am new to purchasing and eating "clean food" due to previous cancer. Your videos help me alot in getting informed on what to buy and reading labels. Thanks so much.

Great presentation! Liked & subscribed 👍🏼 With your videos & Flav City w/Bobby Parrish I’m hoping to make a lot more healthy food choices in 2024.
Thank you Reggie! I greatly appreciate the compliment.
Thank you for watching sir!
That was a great easy video to watch! I'm going to try the Slice Steak and the Coconut dessert! And the Organic Blueberries are great with Greek yogurt.
Thank you for such amazing support! I'm glad you found it helpful and I hope you enjoy the great finds...
What is a good pre mixed protein shake? One that doesn’t have to be made. Thank you
Those frozen wild blueberries from Costco are a great deal.
And wild blueberries taste so much better than the cultivated blueberries (which are

You got that right! Just so much better for us, I would love to have them growing around my area. Lol

I've been using these in my green smoothies for a long time. The best! I hope Costco never discontinues them. Just bought 2 bags yesterday.
The only problem is that in making my vitamix smoothies, the larger organic blueberries are sweeter, bigger and mixes way better than the smaller and drier wild blueberries. Big difference in texture and taste. The wild ones are just not tastier whether on smoothies or over waffles.

@@larryc1616 .... we're not using the dried blueberries. There's a 5 lb bag of wild blueberries in the frozen case. I've use my Vitamix too!

Unreal dark chocolate and coconut are a great product also
I love them but my store just didn't have them this week. The Skinny Dipped are also a fav...

If it's something that will help you meet your protein goals then I would do it. The protein is just so important, there are ingredients in the Fairlife I try to avoid but the macros take priority over the minors.

What would you suggest for dairy free?

@@healthylivingrite thanks again! Actually that’s the protein that I’m buying now, Ascent 😊, and I add organic milk, almond butter and Greek yogurt. I guess I’m already making a healthy shake for him 😊
You can use timestamps.
I will try to do this next time. Thanks for the input, I do appreciate it.
What types of oils are good for you. ?
That sucks! I'm sorry, I don't understand why they do these things unless it's a regional thing.
Can you recommend a First class protein powder, without a bad aftertaste.
I personally use Levels Grass Fed Whey. I love the taste and very clean however I could probably drink anything just knowing the importance of meeting my protein goals.
Awesome job babe ❤
You're most welcome!
Those chicken/apple sausages are a little high on the sodium, IMO
If you're under certain dietary restrictions for HBP or hypertension, definitely follow any guideline set by your physician. I typically don't focus on sodium due to a very low carb diet, strenuous gym work outs and sauna sessions. However I do think the majority of people who consume ultra processed foods and beverages need to be cautious with sodium.
Keep in mind that more than 70% of the sodium Americans eat comes from packaged, prepared and restaurant foods - not the salt shaker. I hope to help change this through consumer education.
Thanks for the feedback, I do appreciate it greatly!
By defrosting the frozen wild blueberries, do they lose much nutritional benefit? Or best to use frozen like in a smoothie?
No, defrosting changes nothing. The consistency will be a little wet but nutritionally they will be superior to standard organic. Try mixing them into some yogurt for a power packed protein snack.
@@healthylivingrite Also great for making jam for a PB&J. I use allulose, berries, and a packet of powdered lemon. Delish.
Now I have to try that, I can't find any healthy jams. Allulose is great! Costco had it briefly, now gone like so many other goodies...
your recipe sounds amazing! Thanks for sharing Kathy!
I agree premier protein is junk. How about fairlife, orgain, etc? Learn something every time. Take care.
Well that's a loaded question and I can often go down the rabbit hole..Lol
With that said, Fairlife Elite has 2 very ugly ingredients (Acesulfame Potassium, Carrageenan) both disrupt the GI and microbiome and at the end of the day I put my gut first along with protein. RTD's are tricky. Orgain's Organic Protein Grass Fed Protein Shake is the lesser of the 2 evils but it does have Sunflower Oil. I'm sorry if this wasn't very helpful. I will look into doing a video on protein shakes soon.
Pointing to the bad ingredients would be nice, so we learn to watch for it.
Will do, right now I'm a one man show so holding the camera and the product makes it hard to point. As time moves forward I hope to have someone do filming. Thank you for the feedback!
