There was the baker man, the dry cleaner and the Fuller Brush Man... even the iceman. Remember chasing him through the neighborhood on his very last deliver too grandparents neighbor up a catwalk. He was heartbroken, 25 years at the same job. Grandpa had an icebox... That ice cost 25¢, an half hours wage... My dad caught hell once for chipping off some for my drink... @@seth101-hv4st no. Nietzsche's works are often focused on coping with and finding meaning beyond nihilism. He's often mischaracterized as a nihilist because of his "god is dead" quote but that's usually taken out of context; if you read the full parable, the madman isn't preaching the death of God to Christians, he's warning atheists of the gravity of science and the cultural implications the obsolescence of religion will have.
Nietzsche's concepts such as the ubermensch and using pain to grow (Nietzsche is the origin of the quote "what doesn't kill me makes me stronger") are also evident of a philosophy that extended far beyond just being a nihilist.

Thank you for that meaningful common sense description of milk in a human diet. I am really tired of all the rigid militant voices against milk. I was working late in the home of a retired doctor. I had to move through their dining area as they were eating, not something I normally do but necessary at the time. Doc, a man in his 80's, was enjoying a tall glass of milk with his dinner. I had to ask, Do you have milk with dinner always? "He responded with a dissertation of all the unique benefits of drinking milk with a meal a couple of which you touched on here". I have also been informed that real, or raw milk, dispenses with much of the trouble processed milk now has but is hard to find and buy. Thanks again!

I love milk and have recently experimented with cutting out dairy. I am happy to report that I felt no different not consuming it than when I did so I am not going to stop drinking it forever. I think a lot of the stuff about us not being designed to consume it after childhood is misunderstood (I'm no nutritionist, though) because obviously, as infants, it's all we can consume really and as we grow, we are able to cope with more. I don't think that has to mean that we should have to lose all dairy products. I am Northern European so I likely have the mutation and I believe much of the anti-dairy hype is largely a result of mass immigration of non whites into white dominated cultures, which means there are now far more lactose intolerant people within traditionally white countries. Just my two cents on the matter.

Some people are really lactose intolerant. But general widespread intolerance is because of milk being processed, homogenized, heat treated and tempered with fat content. If that general population, intolerant to lactose drank pure natural milk, directly from cow, lightly preheated for safety, no digestive problems would arise. Tested.

I’m 65 and in very good physical health, very active and live in a rural place. We eat game, lots of beef, pork, chicken and mostly wild caught fish like trout , salmon and walleye. We limit the amount of plants we eat and stay with the squashes , carrots and occasionally sweet potato.
I have noticed an improvement in mobility , almost no joint pain , an improving knee( not getting a replacement possibly ever) and no brain fog.
Between you , Dr Baker and others like Dr Saladin , I believe I have found the cure for years of ever increasing joint deterioration and pain and chronic brain fog. …and to think it was all because I “ ate my vegetables”. Fermented dairy, specifically homemade Greek yogurt using half & half is a favorite. Problem I have, it does not trigger my lepton signalling fullness. I can eat a half gallon of Greek yogurt in a single sitting and not get a full signal. To lose a few pounds, me personally, I have to cut all dairy except butter and ghee. I'm of this opinion, dairy is for making things grow fast, which is the best survival mechanism for a new born calf. I believe, at least with me, it's a growth accelerator. When I make a half-gallon of Greek yogurt, it lasts a couple weekends & I always gain 2 to 4 lbs when the yogurt is gone. Just figured I'd share 😎

Unfortunately pasteurising milk destroys components that aid us in digesting and absorbing the milk and studies have shown that lactose intolerance is not an issue with unpasteurised milk. The process of homogenisation also causes issues. Both pasteurisation and homogenisation are unnecessary and provide us with no protection and make it harder for us to access the nutrients. When I was a kid I spent a lot of time on dairy farms in New Zealand and drank only raw milk. I remember the fresh, warm cream on my cereal in the morning after the first milking session. So yum. @@helenahandkart1857yeah I live in Australia as well and I only bought that cold pressed milk once before it went bust. I have a feeling that they could’ve turned the milk industry upside down had they remained. But I think the most quality dairy you’ll get in the stores is “Blue Bays” goat kefir. It’s non-homogenised so it’ll retain more nutrients and fat than pasteurised. Still not as good as raw though which is so hard to find here

After that: first meal around 8pm: pound of steak, two eggs some Feta and 1.5 quarts of milk, then three hours later some dried sausage, two eggs pork cracklings, and a whey shake with another quart of milk.... The only thing is, I’m an endurance athlete and moving over to this diet has made me crave lots of fat. I’m now including kefir, Greek yogurt, macadamia nuts and some avocados. Introducing those foods with my protein really satiates me.

You can almost bet that when ancestral hunters killed a lactating animal, they did not leave the milk behind. I know I would not if living back in those days. For me it's all about keeping in tune with the ancestral' s diet. I consume 1/3 cup heated milk with butter, sour cream and sometimes bacon fat. This is with meats that are lean in hopes that it helps with digestion. My heart rate lowers considerably after doing this.

have not had warm milk since I was a kid. seemed it was a remedy to aid in sleep .. is there any science on that front all theses decades in ?!, I should poke around.
I continue to look at other options in the milk department, but to me the only option is 10% cream. all* the other percentage points (above or below) are cut with binders, preservatives, etc. selecting my fav organic cream at Walmart (of all places .. rare other groceries offer it for sale anymore. slaveway stopped carrying it in mid 2015) / the lactose free 10% version was right next to it, so I looked at the ingredients list. sigh. sorry. wouldn’t even try an oz. let alone a whole 32oz of it.
not sure why anyone would drink that, or cook with it, but ...
look into cows that naturally produce A2.
slaveway finally started to stock local (Alberta) A2 sour cream and A2 yoghurt (FF), so there is hope for the future humans (in this neck of the woods anyhow).
*whipping cream or 52% are also clean. not sure what process that takes to have it there tho.

@@DeviatingVapors Lately, if I can't sleep I will drink a cup of warm milk and that does the trick. I'm 66 and in the 8th week of the carnivore diet, having a dickens of a time with it too.
I have tried milk products in our stores here in northern BC and they are so altered that it's not funny. They don't look, feel, smell or taste anything like real milk products, I can't believe people eat these. I've throw out so many I gave up trying to find real milk items.
Have found raw milk that I have canned, although not sure if it's A2 unfortunately. Casein forms on the top so I believe that is a sign of A1 milk. It is not in A2 milk that I drank warm as a kiddo. Apparently those cows are hard to find and must be tested to find out which one they are, just watch for casein to form on the top of warm milk. A dairy cow may in my future thankfully.
Whipping cream, I will have to try that as it has escaped me to date. Wouldn't surprise me they have altered that also, but will definitely buy a small carton.
Good luck with the salveway milk products. Hope they are better than what they call muck now.

what the goats eat .. I should have made a chart, might have been able to isolate a seasonality to it. i.e., only in the spring / summer / fall kinda thing, could help out.
found down’s syndrome patients could develop bad ear issues in the late 1990s in particular, so that opened my eyes a bit more to delve deeper. those patients unfortunately didn’t have any organic options in their city.

@@DeviatingVapors The sour cream from the health food store has chemicals, carageen being one of them, and is 14%mf. That's why I am currently looking for a dairy cow, with some jersey in it. Not having much success. I have never had a dairy cow and need one already trained, I need training too. Unfortunately not many cows are trained for milking so this may be a long search in the north here.
We do have a neighbor who had milk goats so I may look into that. I don't mind the taste and the quantity is about right for 2 people. They raise their grandson on goats milk, he is a towering young fellow!
Yes, todays milk is a chemical concoction that I avoid where possible. It breaks my heart that patients are fed this and other foods that actually harm them.
