the quality of your videos are extraordinary! i loved it, the edit, the setup cameras, the script, its all worth a 2M subscribers channel, keep with the good work!
The only problem here is the screen/cockpit issue. The monitor has to be mounted to the motion rig, or you get a weird disconnect between what you're seeing, and feeling, since the monitor stays static, and the rig moves.
Nice review. You have mentioned that you are using it in an apartment and I see you have put some paddings under the rig. Is that sufficient to dampen out all the vibrations to the floor? I am also living in a apartment and my main concern is the complaints from my neighbour below if I install such system. Since you seems to be the only reviewer that actually use it in an apartment, It will be awesome if you can share more detail about your settings or how you pad the rig to minimize the vibration to the floor.
@@alecmillea4539 I think he's talking about the degrees of motion .. this one is 3dof , but you need a system with more actuators to get yaw and other movements. The DIY rigged featured on the video "Ex-Rimac Engineer Built His Own Motion Racing Simulator" is my dream system, but a little out of my price range. A good 6dof system is around $15,000 -- Like the PT Actuator Dragon
I wonder two things: first Ist this really as good as the "DOF Reality Motion Simulator Platform P3" which comes at a similar price tag with a different technical approach and which includes one more dimension of movement (swivel) And second : Where does it stand compared with the "Next Level Racing Motion Platform v3" which is also a different approach but roughly half the price , less place comsuming and also has excellent reviews since it is well developed and goes with the "less is more" idea. I guess all three solutions are better than without... but is there anyone who really tested all of them?
I haven't seen anything quite as low latency or fast as QUBIC. It moves 900 millimeters per second and with an initial response time of about 8 ms. The NLR V3 doesn't have its most important specs listed -- but I wouldn't expect it to be anywhere near the QUBIC's speed or they would feature it prominently on their page. Still not a bad system for the price.
You might want to dig into the concept of trail breaking (dealing with weight distribution when braking and cornering). Then it would make more sense to realise that using motion should mostly probably make you benefit when trail breaking (getting more inputs about how the weight is distributed)
Great review, but your quote: "Less motion is best motion" is not true. A good motion sim with alot of movement is definitly for a feeling of geforce. But it only works when you are using a VR headset, so your whole vision is moving. When you are using a motion sim in a triple screen setup, you only feel the motion or the suspension of a car. When you use with VR and put the motion up, like in the dof reality h3 it definitly can give you a feeling of g force
Massively appreciate the 3DOF, I feel like it's the best combo at baseline. That being said, getting 2DOF with the ability to upgrade later is not a bad idea!
A video with no music/talking/game noise would be useful to gauge how much noise the actuators make during operation. Actual use of a sound meter from a set distance would also be beneficial. This should be something that ALL reviewers of motion systems do. How noisy/quiet are the QS210 actuators?
Nice video. Is it compatible with sim hub for the haptic feed back and or motion? And is it a plug and play with a central box like pt actuators or do you need thanos controller boxes?
Thanks so much Ricky! I think it feels more powerful than the D-box G5s I've tried, I reckon the haptics are on a par, but the way the Qubic accelerates is genuinely impressive. Hope you're well and thanks for the continued support!
Why is the emergency stop button on your rig on the outside? I'd think you'd want it on the inside where you can hit it with your knee, in case your wheelbase goes berserk and incapacitates your hand.
The motion is on the top I havent had the time to really get the wheelbase stop attached securely, but it’s coming! I’d rather not break my hand and end up taking myself to the emergency department…where I work 😂
The VR compensation works seamlessly, the system just does it automatically. You can adjust some settings but it worked perfectly out of the box for my Quest 2.
@@goname31 flightsim was my first love eons ago, so I naturally jumped at the opportunity! The way the rig replicates ‘sink’ with only 60mm was astonishing 😅
Ah!!!!!! The 5000 dollars only includes the motion amplifier box and actuators. You have to have over 10,000 dollars tied up in everything else, which is completely way beyond my budget to do SIM Racing. You have all that completely paid for, or do you have a loan out on your house for all this. Maybe if I was still working for Motorola, I of been able to afford this, but retired now. I always say if you have to ask the going price of anything, you can't afford it.
you are funny, you mention that it is important to get the seat belt on, but 2 seconds latter you see the back of the rig and the belt is crazy loose........
I'm pretty happy with my DOF H3 but the quality and parts are kind eh. The software for programming units is also undocumented and the behavior of SMC3 can be puzzling, but once it's all programmed right it works great, and they've supposedly made a lot of strides to make it more turn-key.
@@chrismathewsjr I didn't invent the expression but "You have to pay to play" is a fact of life. If you think this is expensive check out racing actual cars and motorcycles, or for that matter high-end audio
@@TheCarDoc1 regarding response time, accuracy, and travel distance, would they be on par? I want to be really certain of what to buy. I won’t be able to return it.
You have a motion system but are still playing in 2D flatland? What a complete waste of time, sorry. Nice review of the gear though. It’s only 20% of the experience that completes VR but that’s really difficult to articulate on a 2D review though.
400 mm/s, not meters. Just use common sense dude! 400 m/s?! You do realise that's faster than sound (345m/s). I am curious if you hear the bang of breaking the sound barrier while gaming... More importantly yet.....move the monitor closer to the base...... than your feet are. ;-)
That’s why I opted for vr. someone was just playing my rig asking why I don’t get monitors for it . I prefer the immersion of vr with motion .
simple, go with a nice VR headset
Man you are underrated! the editing and video is top notch!

1) pedals (currently standard fanatec with a load cell)

Would such a motion rig setup benefit from adding Bass Shakers / Butt Kickers or wouldn't that make any difference at this point?
