- The Sigma Cortex adapter is an absolute game changer for Gran Turismo 7 & any other racing game that natively supports the Fanatec GT DD Pro. If you didn't know, this adapter takes your Simagic Alpha Wheelbase's & emulates a GT DD Pro to the PS5. This allows for seamless gameplay PLUG AND PLAY! Also we'll be going over the nuances of having non Simagic pedals and how to get around that with the DriveHub & GIMX 8.0 Adapter.

Would I be able to do the same glitch/trick with a Moza R12 as you did with the Simagic Alpha min? I was contemplating returning my R12 for a Simagic Alpha mini and buying only a Cortex to play on PS5. I already have Simagic P1000 pedals. But watching your video made me see that I can possibly still use my R12 and trick the PS5 into thinking its a Fanatec DD Pro using the same adapters as you. If you say yes to this scenario then I will buy all the adapters, including the Sigma Cortex, GIMX, and DriveHub.
After watching your video the order is:
Wheelbase + Pedals -> PC -> GIMX -> Sigma Cortex (temporarily 1 time) -> Drivehub -> PS5?
You should be able to. I would say yes. Give it a try & update us!
Can you please do a proper guide outlining how you got your gear to be recognised as a GT DD Pro? With footage how it’s plugged up and everything? I have the GIMX and Drivehub for my Simagic Alpha U and VRS Pedals but whenever I put it into Fanatec Mode it’s being recognised as the CSL Elite which is obviously notchy given the nature of its motor and just making it not enjoyable to play.
@@vertex_spec you need the sigma cortex, it's very simple.
@gster109 and you plug the GIMX adapter into the sigma cortex even though I dont have the simagic pedals and then plug the sigma cortex into the drivehub just once for it to be recognised as a GT DD Pro?
@@vertex_spec plug the sigma into the drivehub without anything else first, plug that into the PS5 and GT7 will recognize the sigma as a GT DD Pro. Restart PS5. Then remove the sigma entirely and use only the GIMX setup.
been looking for a video comparing both, a thousand thanks
No problem! I'll try to make a review video as well.
Very limited content on this, so much appreciated. I had to sub for this but id love to see a tutorial so i can figure out hooking up my alpha mini and simsonn pedals. Im not a huge fan of GT7 physics but I know with the simagic wheel it will be so much more authentic and the actual content in GT7 blows away any sims i play on the regular. Id play this a lot more if my rig works with it.
Thanks for the sub. I will try to make a video on it but there are some explaining how to use aftermarket pedals with ps5. You need a drivehub & you just set that up then just do the “glitch” of using the cortex & making the drivehub think it’s got a csl dd plugged into it.
I race all of the Sims. And I love GT7 & too.
It is so special!
Bonjour,merci pour vos renseignements,😊
No problem! Thanks for watching! Let me know if you have any questions.
hi, great video, one question, what is the wheel settings that you use for simagic mini? i have a simagic u but i am still testing for a better settings for gt7👍
100% FFB
3NM
10% mechanical friction & Dampening
Broke my ultimate buying a mini to replace it lol was a freak accident don't ask haha.
Dude I've never ever seen ffb like this on gt7 holy crap.
I love how the simagic mini shaft is looser so it feels like it moves so freely ans easily meaning all of those forces come through so well. The ultimate needs more forces to push it due to the shaft feeling tighter anyways. So I'm excited man.
I can attest with simagic all you need is 10nm lol. Even the 23nm wheelbase I just never use above that. So yeah simagic has very strong little motors idk how they do it but the speed is also next level the snap for corrections is the best out of anybody imo.
Once you dial in the settings the FFB on this game it is absolutely phenomenal, glad you noticed it in the vid !!
Also like I mentioned in the video I have mine set at 3NM & Total force to 100%, basically the opposite of what everyone including Simagic recommends but I am totally blown away by how good it feels. Very close to emulating a real steering rack.
The snap corrections are indeed next level I am beyond happy with my Alpha Mini.
Thanks for watching!
Hi man, going to switch from Fanatec to Simagic to use in GT7. Is in this case iyo simagic better than Fanatec? And why? Thanks!!
@@gster109 Hi man, going to switch from Fanatec to Simagic to use in GT7. Is in this case iyo simagic better than Fanatec? And why? Thanks!!
@@franbonmati3572 I haven’t used fanatec DD personally but just due to the build quality and sturdiness of the Simagic & also the fact that with the sigma adapter you get true DD signal I would switch over to Simagic.
What about simgaic alpha 15nn. I am in the market to buy my 1st dd wheels I am thinking of alpha 15nn as I feel 10nm is not enough. What’s your thoughts and why you considering from ultimate to mini dd
So was this easy to set up the new way? Really want to get simagic hardware but love Gran Turismo and want to play. Can you go through the steps of setting this up?
Hey, i'll try to find some time to make a tutorial video soon. it's quite simple if you're just using the Cortex adapter (need to have all simagic equipment).
Very informative video. At least it has put me on the right track. I have been trying for months to get my Fanatec DD to work with my simagic p1000 pedals. I have a sigma cortex but my PS5 won't recognize anything running through the sigma. Do you have to run it through your PC and then to the PS5. I seem to be missing a step.
Thank you! Also I do not think that configuration you've mentioned with having p1000 and the DD plugged into the cortex works. I do not think they advertised it to work this way.
Do you guys think this setup is better than the Logitech Pro bundle? (Wheel, base and pedals). The Logitech bundle is 1420 CAD dollars- while the mini bundle from Simagic is 1567 before shipping.
I'd spend the extra and go with the simagic setup personally but I haven't tried the Pro bundle. The build quality of the simagic looks way better for starters.
@ I heard the Simagic cortex makes the FFB basically feel dead on PS5 - do you know if this was fixed?
@ not true, it works perfectly on gt7. You have to make sure the game supports the adapter.
@ would you say it’s better than the Logitech pro wheel? I ask because that one is 11nm and I heard the cortex mimics a Fanatec 8nm wheel - any thoughts? Thank you !
Cool that you've got this to work on ps5. I've been looking for that pc ps5 direct drive killer combo. But I really don't understand how that wheel with that much overhead available clips on Gt7. That would be highly disappointing considering the ffb strength isn't that high to get near clipping.
I think you misinterpretted what he said, it doesn't clip if its set up correctly.
The clipping is not a fault of the wheel, it is from GT7 sending too high of a signal to the wheel base thus causing clipping.
Hi, thank you for your video. Can you perhaps tell us which firmware version you have installed on the Sigma Converter?
I would also be interested in the overall FFB settings in the Cortex Converter. Can you please post them?
Thank you. Best regards, Thomas
Thanks for watching!
Latest firmware.
100% FFB
3NM
10% mechanical friction & Dampening

Hi, Gster. Thank you for the detail reviews. Your review steered me away from Moza and I ended up buying Simagic Alpha + DS8X + P1000i. I couldn't get the Sigma Cortex to work. After testing for hours I switched from the default channel 80 to 82 and it worked. Now it's being recognized as a Logitec G29, how did you get it to emulate a GT DD Pro? Can you pls share the detail settings on your cortex converter including firmware version. Thank you very much.
Hey! I'm glad to hear my review helped you! I believe you issue is that you need to update your Sigma Cortex to the latest firmware version.
Hi!!! First of all, thanks x your information!!!! How are you???
So, if you read this and can please help me. 3 questions. (Sorry my english is horrible)
1
There is a way to adapt and properly use a fanatec csl Dd 8 nm to a ps4 or ps5??? The dd pro is soo expensive
2
Is posible to use an alpha mini in ps4 with fanatec pedals???? How simagic wheel adapters work??
3
With this kind of Drive hub, in case number 1 answer is afirmative... Can you use a fanatec base, wheel and pedals, with a handbrake and gear stick from another company in ps4/5 by conecting it to the base or Drivehub?
Thanks x your time. Hi everyone
you will need a drivehub and GIMX adapter to use different pedals anything other than Simagic ones.
question 3 is yes, you will need the 2 adapters I mentioned^^
Hey mate, im getting the Alpha 15nm base rather than the CS DD+ as it has direct compatibility with the GT neo. Either way we gotta adapt something 😂
Hi mate, I've just got my sigma adapter and it doesn't seem to be working, I've got everything plugged in but when I press the ps button it doesn't seem to work, I've got the PS logo, car logo and the tick but not the controller
What gear are you using ??
Would you have any sigma settings for gr3 cars?
Nice video bro, however i just took simagic with sigma cortex..my wheel its the fx pro.how is possible to run the wheel with working dashboard display.(not working on ps5 at the moment).do you know about that something else to try?
I do not have that wheel so I cannot answer that sorry.
So if you use all Simagic gear, wheel and pedals, you just need the Sigma Cortex ?
Yes, exactly.
Is GT7 worth the expense of adapters if you have all the major PC sims? Got a Simucube 2 Pro shortly after buying my PS5 but have barely used it any since. GT7 was a good time on controller though, but I'm not sure how it'd hold up since I've gone all in on PC sims and simcade titles.
100% you will be shocked how good GT7 is on a wheel. It holds up to PC sims..
How did you manage to adjust the wheel's buttons with GT7? I tried all the buttons but I couldn't switch the MFD selections right and left or up and down!
Hello blogger, with the combination of drivehub+gimx+hori mini, I encountered that moza r9 was recognized as tgt without ffb as you said. I would like to ask you if this problem disappeared after changing to simagic?
Yes you need the Sigma Cortex and Simagic.
Adam's SIMporium is selling a GIMX usb when i thought this software was free, unless theres no way to use GIMX without a usb? But i guess we can just get a cheap usb somwhere and put GIMX on it? Or maybe we cant do that, who knows.
So you got 3 adapter now? I plan to get the same build as yours
alpha mini
simjack pedals
How do you get it to work in gt7, you need the 3 adapter?
This video explains quite well. Yes, you need 3 adapters.
Which firmware are you currently using for sigma on gt7? And does everything work well? Thx
Latest firmware and yes everything is perfect.
Do you need both adapters to get it to think it’s a dd pro?
Nope, if you have simagic pedals too it will show up as a DD pro. The drivehub is only for unsupported pedals to work.
@@gster109I’m looking to go with the alpha mini, neo gt wheel, and keep my fanatec v3 pedals. Will this work with just the sigma encoder or what else will I need? Thanks!
@@GTALLDAY16 you’ll need a GIMX & DriveHub Adapter.
Will pedal haptics work on GT7?
Yes, once you set up SimHub I believe the software is called. Never used it tho but there are videos of it working.
Why u set 3nm not 10
Because real road cars are all around 3nm. You get more control of the car without fighting the wheel. More realistic.
@@gster109 Im not sure about that one. Maybe driving on the road daily yes, but racing i doubt 3nm is accurate. 3NM you will get extreme clipping at high speed and the wheel will not communicate anything further, which is not realistic. Better to just make the FFB lighter if that is preferred.
Hey hey! About to about to press the go button on full simagic mostly for playing ACC. I’m wondering if I can customise some stuff like button emulation layout or the lights through simagic software and then have it work when plugging all in to ps5 through the sigma cortex
I think you can change the lights thru PC software which will save indefinitely but the layout, if using just sigma cortex is fully predefined no customizing button layout unless ACC supports it. GT7 does.
@@gster109 thanks some one on discord said buttons can be changed in sim pro
Hey man thanks for the video. I got my Simucube 2 Pro and Heusinkveld pedals running with Gimx and Drive Hub. It gets recognized as G29 but with the “glitch” of holding starts and select, it’s now working in Fanatec CSL mode. I’m actually really satisfied with the FFB. Even though the CSL is also belt driven.
Is there any chance to get my setup also recognized as Fanatec DD Pro? How did you managed to do that?
Yeah the CSL mode is pretty good but damn the DD signal is a huge game changer imo. Unfortunately the way I do that is with the sigma cortex adapter which tricks the drivehub into thinking I have a CSL DD. You could try just buying the adapter & plugging it into the drivehub then going back to the gimx setup which is what I did but idk if the cortex will want a simagic wheel conntected to send that info over to the drivehub before u switch back to gimx mode. Hope that makes sense.
@@gster109 Thanks! Yes I thought about the adapter as well. But that would mean another station where the signals go through. And more input lag.
The FFB is actually surprisingly good as it is and I can live with it. Didnt expect it will be this good. I hope one day they will make a Fanatec DD firmware for Gimx, if that is even possible.
@@Sele81 input lag shouldnt be an issue. I highly recommend it. That DD signal is a game changer!
@@gster109 So just to be clear. You use a simagic wheel. That is connected to your PC and not to your cortex adapter?
So it is: Simagic and pedals on PC -> GIMX -> Cortex -> DD Hub -> PS5 ??
If so, what firmware do you use on Gimx? Since there is only G27 and G29 as an option for wheels. So, if so, the Gimx sends a G29 signal to your Cortex adapter but that changes the signal to a Fanatec DD Pro?
Or did I got it all wrong and you use only cortex? Because in the video you say you use GIMX.
Thanks for the help btw.
@@Sele81 ya exactly with the GIMX adapter in g27 ps3 flash mode then to drivehub. Cortex was just used to initially trick the drivehub & its in the box now not in the chain between pc to ps5 now.
can you use psvr2 with sigma cortex?
Yes.
hey i have the same setup with simsonn pedals
so if i read you right, drive hub for pedals
sigma cortex for wheelbase
plug sigma cortex into drive hub
plug pedals into drive hub as accessory
using GIMX and plug into drive hub as console then GIMX into PS5?
Hey great question. Did you try that setup and did it work? I have been trying for months to get my Fanatec DD to work with my simagic p1000 pedals. I have a sigma cortex but my PS5 won't recognize anything running through the sigma. Do you have to run it through your PC and then to the PS5. I seem to be missing a step.

@gster109
I have the same question. I use the GT Neo with the Alpha Base.
The FFB settings of the Sigma Converter are never loaded at the first start. I always have to change the memory profile from 1 to 2 and then back to 1 so that the settings are loaded.
The buttons for the MFD are also not assigned for the GT Neo and have to be reassigned at every start. This applies to firmware 1.1.4/1.1.5 and 1.1.6. The RPM display on the GT Neo does not work with firmware 1.1.5!
I have asked this question everywhere and nobody can help, right now I have the alpha mini base, GT Neo wheel and P1000 pedals a shopping cart along with the Sigma converter. will this work on my PS5 with ACC?
No. It works only with GT7
@mataman1 mate I'm literally smashing laps around Imola on it right now in ACC and having tried it with GT7 I can say that it is 100% better on ACC than GT7.
@@michaelsutton60 some new firmware came out?
@@mataman1 yes mate but it did work even before that, but now its bloody fantastic, the firmware to use for those interested is the 1.6 not the newest.

Is sigma support simjack pedal? And does it need to calibration?
No, Sigma does not support SimJack Pedals. Please rewatch the video to understand better.
Hi, I know you said you need GIMX and Drive Hub for different pedals but what about different shifters and hand brakes?
Also do i still need Drive Hub and GIMX even though Fanatec is Playstation compatible if i get the CSL V2 pedals?
Yes, for the shifters and handbrakes as well. If you're using all Fanatec you will not need an adapter as long as you buy the PS compatible version.
