【Note Block】 Hypixel Skyblock OST | The Wither King (Boss Theme 4)

- This is an original boss BGM / fight song called "The Wither King", made for Hypixel's Skyblock game on the Hypixel Minecraft Server. It is the battle theme for The Catacombs' Floor 7 Master Mode boss, who is also named the Wither King. Hope you enjoy!
So, I needed to create something similar to Necron's track but even more powerful. Kinda a challenge! I hope it came out that way in the end.
It uses leitmotifs of all the previous bosses to start with, to remind the player of how far they've come. I was able to take the melody from one of the most relaxing tracks in the game - Journey in the Sky - and turn it into one of the most fast paced and initimidating ones. Hah!
This is as close to power metal I can get in note blocks. Maybe one day, I might do a full instrumentation...

Dozens of songs and 90% of them are made by 1 guy. Eh, hypixel trusts them to do their job well as he has absolutely done. Also 1 thing hypixel announced about the nether update is that the music is done. Just saying Shinko has a few times had more information earlier than anyone
Shinkonet is great at what they do, hypixel related or not.

I signed some discs when the update launched via cake souls, about 10 of them, then distributed it into the skyblock economy. Hope the people who got their signed discs + cake soul enjoy the music!

But with the rift, maybe we will get to see how the wither king is at full strength.
@@daridon2483ccording to the lore rift is a reality where wither king didn't lose his family and never became wither king so instead if seeing him we probably get to see his past self when mountaintop releases.

i have to admit that this song just represents your journey through SB. How you started in the lobby, made it to the end, f7 then m7. The finale. This is why it includes so many songs. To remind you of everything you've gone through to get there. The thousands of hours, the amount of times u got scammed, the amount of times you wanted to quit but got back. But that's just my opinion now.

As for stains of time, what? not only is there no pling at that time but the closest thing to it is just a bassline?
@@uk1ran Exp is from a Touhou Melody (as shinko said) but i found the same melody in undertale and since shinko likes undertale i thought it was from undertale and not touhou but touhou makes more sense also the stains of time is not the notes but the style of notes are relatable (this isnt found by me)

Love the Leitmotifs of the song
That makes the players rethink about their entire career to permanently get them off skyblock
Using tons of leitmotifs from other islands'/bosses' OSTs was super cool and makes the song feel like a finale of sorts, even though it's nowhere near the end of Skyblock. Amazing job once again. You've contributed something priceless to Skyblock
I kinda wished the leitmotifs focused more on Dungeon Drama and Necron Doon, it just felt weird how toned down and less powerful this was compared to Necron Doom.
The part that I liked was probably near the beginning and the ending as it signifies the "epic showdown" everything was building up to be.
The rising pitch in 0:30 just felt so good

I'm pretty sure it's less powerful or intense than necron doom because the wither king's mental state is not very well and it kind of describes that and his will to not fight
Well seeing that it has the leitmotif of the spider den, I think this music would have been better against a boss who is a spider, but still its pretty good.
i like it, it signifies how far youve come from combining most of the previous themes into this song, and dont tell me the beginning doesnt make you feel acomplished
@@airamasu the spiders den leitmotif is widely considered the most well known melody of skyblock, so the wither king using it as a motif shows its significance notnjudt to to catacombs but to skyblock entirely

I like to think that, since the song has parts similar to other songs from the catacombs, the song reminds you how you started entering the catacombs for the first time and where you've reached now and what you've been through to reach this point (the point being m7)
It makes the wither king fight more epic in my mind

From all the previous songs you can hear a good amount is used from the other catacomb songs, which is a great thing!

also I love how you added the anvil sounds for the necron doom motif at the start
Custom notes in NBS and then the thing they used to decode the file has something programmed inside of it so it can detect the anvil sound like the rest of the note blocks
Same with the EXP noise and pling (pling is a note block in 1.14 but it isnt in 1.8 so its treated like a custom sound)
