such a beautiful spread, as always! ✨️ when it comes to pastels, if your neocolors are neocolor II, so, water soluable, you can use the pastel shavings to paint with! you can use the shavings as is or make paint out of them, I saw Sophie McPike do that about a year ago 🥰 she put the shavings into watercolour pans and added a bit of water to make them more paint-like ✨️
I love the Holbein colored pencils! They're so soft and buttery!!! The Caran D'ache are really nice as well. I would say they're in between the prismacolours and the Faber Castell. They're a harder lead but feel more blendable than the polychromos.
11:20 i would love to watch a video organizing and going through art supplies. i do that every spring so it would be fun to have a video to watch while doing that!
Love this spread! ❤ I think it’s already been mentioned but keep the shavings especially if you are using a knife. You can make pans of each colour like watercolour if you add drops of water to them. Means you can keep reusing the shavings and also get the benefits of the wet neocolour II
The neocolors ii are water soluble so this means when you sharpen them you can Save the shavings and turn it into paint so you won't feel bad about sharpening them. I did this with one of mine and it worked really well. Hopes this helps, love your videos and art You are a huge inspiration to me. 😊
I'm on the last 3 pages on my sketchbook and so excited to start the new one ❤!!! Your sketches inspire me a lot I would love to see all your art supplies 😁
AWWW!!! THIS IS SO CUTE!! I LOVE YOUR ARTSTYLE!!! Thank you so much for your dedication and effort that you put in your videos and drawings!!! And for inspiring me!! 💙💝💙💝💙💝💙💝💙💝🥰🥰💝🥰🥰🥰🥰💙💝💙🌸💙💝🥰💝🥰💙🌸😊💙🥰💙🥰🥰🥰🥰💙💙💙💙💙💝
It’s really wonderful (and pretty amazing) to see how building up layers really makes the birds come to life. The brown one ended up being so fluffy ❤❤❤ I might need to try doing more layers like you, because I really love the end result
I think the Caran D'ache Luminance colored pencils are supposed to be in between Polychromos and Prismacolor. Also, that little purple and brown bird is so cute!❤
I've had Prismacolor for several years and also the premier set for quite awhile too. I use col-erase the most though because I love using it for lineart for watercolor paintings. It was only when I heard that I wouldn't be able to buy col-erase individually that I looked into different brands. I recently got a few polychromos and enjoy the doodles I've done with them so far.
I like sharpening my watersoluble neocolors into a halfpan, and then activate them with water, so they stay in there and then I can use them as paint. :)
I recently bought some Caran d'Ache Luminance and Derwent "Drawing" (that's their name) pencils for testing and I liked them both. It's not easy to buy Prismacolor opens tick for me, but the Luminance are available at my local art store and I think I will replace the ones that got "empty" with them. That way it's not too expensive too (those Luminance are EXPENSIVE - but as far as I know all are very lightfast)
Thats exactly what i do with my neocolor ii s. I put the shavings into watercolour pans and mix them with water. It creates a gouache-like paint that can be activated with water and used with a brush.
I used to be really big into adult coloring and my all time faves for pencils were always prismacolors. But I would switch to the faber castell polychromos at times too tho. Then I went on a quest to basically find a Prismacolor dupe/twin. Something that colored just like them so I’d have a wider range of colors. And my conclusion after trying many brands with caran dache luminance and supracolor among others was Holbein. Theirs are the most similar imo. They’re soft but not quite as soft as Prismacolor and color great. They’re kinda like if Prismacolor and the Polychromos had a baby. Like how I feel acrlya gouache is if acrylic and gouache had a baby. Personally, I love them. Prismacolor remains my favorite but Holbein is a close second. Just sucks how expensive they are. Or they were. Idk. I got them a while ago now when they were all the hype in the coloring community but I definitely wasn’t disappointed with them. I currently use their fluorescent pink or maybe it’s red pencil to sketch a lot and love how it looks. But I love pink lol. Either way, I’d recommend checking out Holbein. Even a couple pencils just to see 🤷🏼♀️
while watching i found myself unable to look away.. i absolutly adore your bird drawings!! im sorry i may have missed it, but what are the markers you are using that can write a light color over the darker colors? i have posca pens that do something similar.. but i just love the fine point of the ones you are using! thanks!~
9:29 um i like top model colored pencil their kinda childish but i just like the vivid opaque unique colours, but im not really picky and i dont use coloured pencil that often so i dont know

Omg that is such a good idea! I love sophie's videos :D
the birds are so cute!
Yes! Show your supplies and organize 🥰
Love this spread! The derpy frog beside the birds makes me smile, so silly and cute
hahah the frogs are extra derp, I kind drew them half-heartedly lol
I was literally JUST thinking I'd watch one of your videos to get inspired and then you uploaded a new one!! Love the spread!!

Holbein and Caran D'ache Luminance are amazing pencils as well indeed!

Noted!! :)
ahhh this is the cutest little spread! I love all the different colour backgrounds 🥰
Thank you!!

OOO that's such a good idea!! I will do this!

Birds are among my favorite things to draw. Frogs too, but I struggle with them a bit.
I love how loose and sketchy these are!

Love it ❤❤❤❤bravissima
Arteza is great🙂. I've had my set of 45 for 5 years now. I don't see people using or talking about Arteza much anymore.
i like the bird feathers and fuzzys
I loved this video! Very calming to watch while I work on my stuff ❤
So glad you enjoyed!
@ also next week I’ll be doing a video of me stealing your art style… so I hope that’s okay 🤣
I think the Caran D'ache Luminance colored pencils are supposed to be in between Polychromos and Prismacolor.
Also, that little purple and brown bird is so cute!❤
Ooo noted!
Derwent color pencils are nice! Not as soft as Prismacolor but still easy to apply on paper.
Lot's of people seem to be recommending derwent so I'll have to give them a look!

I still don't understand why prismacolor stopped offering the col-erase individually. I LOVE the terra cotta one, it's my go-to.
I like sharpening my watersoluble neocolors into a halfpan, and then activate them with water, so they stay in there and then I can use them as paint. :)

maybe when youre sharpening the pastel s you can use the shavings for something? make paint out of them?

Lot's of people are recommending this so I definitely gotta try it! I have a lot of empty watercolour pans too
You might like the Derwent Lightfast pencils!
I'll look into them!!

They’re also artist quality.
You should try the Holbein colored pencils! And I like the Verithin ones for sketching, maybe you could try that too?
I'll look into them! I do have some prismacolour verithin but for some reason I don't really use them much. Maybe I should!
I have a few poly chromos but I prefer Caren d’Ache luminous or Derwent (drawing and lightfast) colored pencils.
save the shavings and use them as water colours
for the pastels
You Are perfect

just a quick question, why do you use brown pencil to sketch and not just pencil,if its just thqt your bored of the old pencil me too
Sometimes sketching with a colour other than the "grey" graphite makes it feel warmer or more colourful! It's also just more fun sometimes!
@ yeah I do that sometimes to .but it’s kinda scary that you can’t erase 😅
9:29 um i like top model colored pencil their kinda childish but i just like the vivid opaque unique colours, but im not really picky and i dont use coloured pencil that often so i dont know
i drew a frog while watching this
No, they’re not called pencil crayon in Canada, that’s just our ‘ slang ‘ , like ‘ Eh ‘. They are ‘ coloured pencils ‘. Cheers
