Hey Chloe! I don't know if it's been mentioned but the blending issue is more with the paper than the markers. The Ohuhu markers are really good with blending, though they are more saturated than Copics. The paper is bleedproof because it's mixed with plastic and not very absorbent, which also hinders a smooth blend. You should try them on a smooth bristol, and you'll find you have an easier time blending!
I actually prefer my Ohuhu markers over my Copics. I own 13 different brands of markers - yes, I went through a faze - and Ohuhu is my favorite of all. But I do use them all together for endless color combos. I can’t wait to get your book! It’s top on my Santa list 😊
Personally, I can't wait. I love that the fact you've got a story , you will be the first that I've bought by a creator (my favourite person, CHLOE ROSE ART). You inspire me ❤❤❤❤

And now the markers are double the price they used to be! I'm so glad I kept my sennelier and holbein watercolors as well as my faber castelle polychromos. But I miss my markers...

The marker organiser you bought looks like an old CD rack i used to have. I wonder if you could get one (maybe free) and upcycle it to hold more markers.
At least based on the CD racks I used to own, I don’t think the slots would be big enough to fit the markers, as Ohuhu markers are quite fat/large in circumference. It would be a good idea for skinnier markers or other art supplies though!

:D I’m sooooooo soooooo soooo happy u did a review on the Ohuhu 216 pack I might be getting my first ever Ohuhu set by Christmas and this video really helped me a lot on making my decision to buy the 216 pack and not the 320, I love the way your soo honest and say ur actual opinion not just some lines for the sponsors :)
I am so excited for your adventure book! I pre-ordered it as soon as you mentioned it! And seeing this video makes me more excited! And also… i want an ohuhu marker holder now too…
I know this sounds crazy, but I'm just getting into alcohol markers and I've heard that the marker paper makes it hard to blend some of the markers. So, I bought a mixed media 98 lb paper and it works really well for blending alcohol markers. However, it does bleed through which doesn't bother me and water based markers tear/pile the paper up. I've been told to try Bristol paper and a few others. I'd have to go back and look at my Amazon list to be sure which ones they are... Can't wait to buy your book and try to do as beautiful a job as you did! ❤❤❤
I *need* to see you draw a Panda on an Ice Cube now please 😂 I couldn't unsee it once you said it! Love all of these. Cannot wait to get my hands on the book!!
I love the concept of your book! I’m usually put off by colouring books but with yours you get to be so much more creative. Might have to be a late Christmas present for myself
I love the Ohuhu markers. I also have the 216 set and I have the same bamboo rack. I did get a second one (I had the 36 set of greys too, so they all fit perfectly). OMG though, am I scared I'll accidentally tip it up and they will all fall out 🤣 In saying all that, I'm not a huge marker artist. I love what other people can do with them and it does inspire me, but I don't know what on earth I'm doing. I really need to spend some time just learning them.
I use Ohuhu markers, and you'll want to swatch those. If your markers didn't come with a swatch card, you can always make one using marker paper, a fineliner, a ruler, binder rings, and a hole punch. Just make a strip of cards, with each swatch labled, and use the hole punch to make a hole in each swatch, then make a hole on each card and use the binder clip to keep them all together. (Sorry if this seems to run together, I was going by memory.)
I recently found a set of those very Micron-esque markers in a local store, and bought them for my dad, who loves to draw. I personally use Micron markers religiously, because they are blacker than black and water resistant. The cheap ones are ok if the line work is the last thing you do to your drawing, but add watercolour and they run. I don't know if the ones I bought are the same as yours, but they look identical.
Yes delayed for now! The video wasn’t sent out to a lot of people close to me, and when I mentioned/tagged the video in my community post, hardly anyone saw that either. Something was very weird about that video/it wasn’t really going out or being pushed to people who normally get my notifications. I had people tell me they didn’t even see it in their subscription box! So I’m not sure if something in it was causing that. So I’m a bit scared to try it again because of how long it takes to do 🥲
I have some Ohuhu markers (48, I believe) and like them pretty well. I do agree that the caps don’t always portray the color correctly. I haven’t tried their marker paper but do have some Strathmore marker paper as well as bristol. I also used some Copics in one of my sketchbooks and nothing bled through. I think it’s a mixed media type of paper. Your book looks fun and I love the pages you made.
Now look what you've done! Inspired a piece of art that is a top(ish) down view of a beach where a panda stands atop one of many ice-cube shaped icebergs!
Some tricks for Ohuhu markers are to blend them when the colors are still wet, especially on their own paper. I don’t love that paper pad and have heard better things about Windsor Newton Bleedproof paper. Also, you have to swatch Ohuhu markers to truly know what colors they are, especially if you buy different sets because the naming and color schemes aren’t the same between them. Keep the swatch cards out of direct sunlight, otherwise they fade. I’ve found that the best pens for alcohol ink (and watercolors) are Copic multi liner pens. They don’t smudge when you color over them. I’ve used Microns for years, but they and Faber Castell Pitt Artist pens work best with dryer mediums like on top of artwork that has already dried.
When I was studying, my art prof recommend us Delta Markers. I bought them once and still stick with them, they are really good in blending. (But at the moment I prefer other media)
I love doing that too in fact some of My paintings i do that just put colors on paper and then see what I see and then paint it. is so much fun. I love ohuhu markers too .💖 your book looks Kool dear.
I got those micron knockoffs for Christmas last year, and in my opinion, they’ve been working better than my microns for some reason. Maybe I just live somewhere that’s too dry for them, but they always dry out really quickly and I don’t tend to get much use out of them while the knockoffs seem to be really nice and have continued working. But, that’s just been my experience. 🤷♀️
Just try to use poster markers refill sorry for my sorry about my missed words but using markers refill is the only way to do it are you rubbing alcohol it keeps them fresh
I’ve got Copic markers rather than Ohuhu, but I do have the Ohuhu marker pad and it’s the best marker paper I’ve ever used. Never bleeds through, usually doesn’t even ghost to the opposite side, and alcohol inks blend beautifully on it. In other news…I think I’m going to ask for your book for Christmas. 😀
I wanted to try markers out as I really love that comic book, mixed media style of art that is all over insta - I got a set of 48 brush/chisel double ended Ohuhus for my birthday, and I was really disappointed in them. Between the caps being total mismatches to the pigments and a good quarter of them seemed to be dried out from the start...Yeah I just haven't been impressed with them at all. I'm now wondering if I should have got the single-ended brush tips and possibly a bigger set. I'm encouraged to give them another go now after seeing your video. Maybe I shouldn't give up on them so quickly as they are /so/ much cheaper than copics. I'd also never considered printing digital lineart onto artist quality paper, that's a great idea! Love these videos, I'm still subscribed to Scrawlrbox after watching your videos on them, massive fan, I absolutely trust your judgement on art products, you've got a good eye! 💜✨🌈 much love from a fellow Brit!
Hullo Chloe, I have pre-ordered your book, I have also purchased a tote bag and sweatshirt from your new store! I was certain that you were going to mention that too! I have used Copic markers for years and now I have become a fan of Ohuhu! I did buy the 320 Honolulu set with the brush and fine bullet nibs for my wife and I use them as well. It is easier just to grab some from her bag she keeps by the couch, when I would have to get up and go to the studio to get a handful of Copic’s! ALL Alcohol markers have poor color matching caps, yes ALL of them! I truly believe that you cannot go wrong with Ohuhu alcohol markers! I am considering selling my Copic’s and buying more Ohuhu’s just so I have my own set! I have enjoyed both of the older marker pads from Ohuhu and the new No bleed pad is wonderful too! Thank you for sharing this sweet video with us. You are truly inspirational and such an amazing artist.
I really appreciate your support!! We just packaged your order a few minutes ago :) yes massive fan of the Ohuhu markers now, I can’t see a reason to use copics now!
That's so exciting! Im hoping for single sided for coloring with alcoholmarkers, but with your storyline, both sides makes sense. Congratulations!🎉 @ChloeRoseArt
Lol I have the same markers and marker pad. I know you don't use markers that much but you should ALWAYS swatch your markers on the same type of paper your gonna use so you know how they react. I always have a scrap piece of paper I use to swatch on and see how colors work together
Ohuhu has gotten ridiculously expensive as opposed to the price of when they first got popular, I am broke and homeless but love doing art. So budget art supplies are what I can get. Watercolor pencils are great. The prismacolor learn to draw paint kits are awesome you get a lot of really good supplies for around $20 and they last quite a long time
I rely on artists like yourself to influence my art supplies cuz I'd rather spend money on something that works well. love the organizer. I have the same set of ohuhu markers that were gifted to me and I still use my prismacolor (was part of my art school supplies has lasted me over 10 year) and masters touch markers on the go for coloring. I use my ohuhu for home as the case is just so bulky to travel with and while nice to have that many options, I don't need that much. Though i do enjoy chisel over brush because i am heavy handed artist. I rely on artists like yourself to influence my art supplies.

I pre-ordered your book on Amazon when you announced it. I'm really looking forward to it. I plan to do it with my granddaughter who is 6 and a budding artist. We do art every time I see her. Needless to say I'm her favorite Nana. 😁
I own a bunch of Ohuhu markers. They do make markers with brush and chisel tip combos. Those are the ones I have. I really like them.
@@pjpony1234 ahhh thank you so much!! That’s so lovely, I used to do art with my grandad at the same age and it’s some of my fondest memories with him! ❤️
This is one of my favourite videos of yours that I’ve watched. It has multiple elements that I’m interested in and curious about, such as entrepreneurship and making your own arts/crafts products, mindful drawing, testing out the latest art products as well as excellent illustrations of animals and the ocean. Ticks a lot of boxes for me and was very satisfying and interesting. Thank you for sharing insights into your art practice and creativity. ❤🔥
Try the Ohuhu Paint Markers! Specifically the 30pc set. I have the set, its new. And I really like them. It has bullet nib and fine tip with is so nice for detail. I painted mini wooden peg dolls as our dnd characters with them
:D I’m sooooooo soooooo soooo happy u did a review on the Ohuhu 216 pack I might be getting my first ever Ohuhu set by Christmas and this video really helped me a lot on making my decision to buy the 216 pack and not the 320, I love the way your soo honest and say ur actual opinion not just some lines for the sponsors :)
Fun video! Also, you’re hair looks cute and so soft today 😊
Your nails are FANTASTIC! Ugh I need mine done again.
I believe ohuhu has also a blender marker so you can blend easier.
I ordered my book when you first promoted it. I am so very excited, and cannot wait for it to arrive.
I really love ohuhu markers and I found they blend easier on bristol than on bleed proof paper.
im super exited for your book launch. I will buy it immeadiatly but I was wondering what stores carry it in germany? does thalia?
Link for AmazonUS is in her description box. It ships to the UK, so I'd imagine it will for Germany too.
It should be available online at your main book retailer! Possibly Amazon as well but I’m not 100% on that 🙌
@@ChloeRoseArt omggg thanks for replying
I *need* to see you draw a Panda on an Ice Cube now please 😂 I couldn't unsee it once you said it!
Love all of these. Cannot wait to get my hands on the book!!
I absolutely love Ohuhu markers. They are amazing.
I love the concept of your book! I’m usually put off by colouring books but with yours you get to be so much more creative. Might have to be a late Christmas present for myself
Thank you!! I really wanted to make something very different to what’s out there right now so I hope people love it ✨
I love the Ohuhu markers.
Cool art book idea Chloe
Good Luck with the book Chloe! It's a great idea! Especially for those days where your brain is just not playing ball! 😂🥰👏👌
@@louiseb6111 thank you so much!!
Is disney castle second part coming 🤔?
on her second channel she said for the amount of work it wasn't getting that much views so she would hold off on it for now
@@sunnymeowcatthanks for the update. I’ve been anxiously waiting. Guess I can stop lol
So I’m a bit scared to try it again because of how long it takes to do 🥲
@@ChloeRoseArt I only found your channel because the castle video was recommended to me. I subscribed to see the second part...
So excited for your book! I love the story side of it as well as the creativity! You’re so talented! 🙌😍❤️xx
I am so excited for your book! I looks so fun!
I absolutely would love your coloring book!
Omg congrats on ur book! Can’t wait to get it
Hey Chloe I love your art videos and think you are really talented.
Now look what you've done! Inspired a piece of art that is a top(ish) down view of a
beach where a panda stands atop one of many ice-cube shaped icebergs!
This was so good ❤
Some tricks for Ohuhu markers are to blend them when the colors are still wet, especially on their own paper.
9:08 Love your nails!! Can’t wait to get your book!!❤😊
Nice Ice cubes and panda. 😂
So fun! 💚
❤❤❤ can’t wait to watch this! ❤❤❤
Im so excited for your book!
When I was studying, my art prof recommend us Delta Markers. I bought them once and still stick with them, they are really good in blending. (But at the moment I prefer other media)
What an adorable idea for a book! I can’t wait to get one. Also, getting your book into Target is a big deal! Congrats!!!
Thank you so much!!
I LOVE BEARLIN SO MUCH
OMG, your book looks so fun. I’m buying it 😭
Ohuhu: the company, and also the sound you make when you open a new case of markers
I was just thinking about how much I want ohuhus for coloring. I like the pastel shades that you can get. It’s hard to find light colors in markers.
Thank you for making your coloring book affordable! 💲💰❤
Omg your book is so cute, I will ask my mum if I can have one for christmas day 🥰
Was thinking of getting the markers too , maybe will get it to use in your book when it comes out
I love doing that too in fact some of My paintings i do that just put colors on paper and then see what I see and then paint it. is so much fun. I love ohuhu markers too .💖 your book looks Kool dear.
Ohuhu pastel alcohol markers are my favorite
Ohuhu markers are the best they blend really well and last a long time
I hope when the book launches it hits norway AND that i have money!
i’ve had tiktok shop orders come in amazon packages before! i’m not exactly sure why but yeah lol
Your book comes out on my birthday! 🎉 🥰
When I got Ohuhu markers, the pack came with a colourless blender. Maybe that would make it easier eve on the non-bleedthrough paper 😊
Ordered you book after this can’t wait to receive it ❤❤
Thank you so so much!!
never trust an ohuhu cap color! 🤣 the book cover looks really cute
ENVY!! I only have the 70whatever set.
You name the Bear - Bearlin because bear und Merlin?... me, as a german, Berlin.. now it stucks in my head forever xD
Chloe Rose! 💜 I’m so Excited for your book to come out! Will the pages be printed on just one side? Or printed on both sides?
I believe both sides but I haven’t seen it yet! Apparently they’re sending me my first copy next week!!
That's so exciting!
Im hoping for single sided for coloring with alcoholmarkers, but with your storyline, both sides makes sense. Congratulations!🎉
@ChloeRoseArt
That Ohuhu pad is amazing I live it and also I don’t think any marker is true to colour cap even copic in my opinion
The prismacolor learn to draw paint kits are awesome you get a lot of really good supplies for around $20 and they last quite a long time
They have to get the money back from sponsoring half of art UA-cam somehow. The customer pays the price quite literally.
I love Ohuhu markers! I need to get some more though. 😅
Thank you
I rely on artists like yourself to influence my art supplies cuz I'd rather spend money on something that works well. love the organizer.
4:03 holy crap you counted those multiples of sevens so fast
Im curious on what kind of paper Chloe’s book will be
