Revive RC Avante Body For Tamiya Super Avante

- In this video I cut, trim and paint the custom body for the Tamiya Super Avante by Revive RC. I also add some custom decals I printed using a Vinyl Cutter. I think the Revive RC body looks awesome on the TD4 chassis and does a great job of capturing the looks of the original Avante.

Awesome job Mick, can’t go wrong with PS-16 😍. The wing doesn’t have cut lines so far around so you can choose your own 👍🏻.

I'm still learning with the Vinyl cutter but I really think it will be useful for both decals and masking.

G'day, Mick! Oh wow, that came out a treat mate! You really got the blue to pop with that silver backing. Love the way you went "minimal" with the stickers. When I saw this body originally with just the paint on, I thought "man too many stickers would spoil this one!" And then look what you did! Just perfect, mate! Cheers!
G'day Mark! Thanks mate. Oh yeah, this body looks great without stickers so I knew going in that I had to keep them to a minimum. That's said, once you put a sticker here, you need a sticker there and so on. It's a fine balance! Glad you like it mate. Cheers! 🙂👍

Body gives me Bonneville salt flats vibes. Looks like it’s going 300+ mph standing still. Maybe even a hint of Astute with the fenders. Nice and looow. Great job mate 👍

That body would have been a great candidate for a Williams F14/15 F1 livery, the yellow, white and blue car that Nigel Mansel drove, Mick. Though would have taken a bit more paint and masking up. Turned out great though.
It would have been too. I'm not really one for F1 liveries but in this case I think it would have worked out nicely. It certainly would have helped since I couldn't think of what to do! 😂. Thanks mate! 🙂👍

I want to see more about making decals and that cutter
Someone did ask me about doing a video on it. I figure it's probably best to search UA-cam as there's a lot of videos already out there on Vinyl Cutters. I think for me to do a video just on that subject it would be too far away from RC for my channel, if you get what I mean. Plus I'm still learning it myself, so I probably wouldn't be able to give the best information on it. Best to search for tutorial videos on UA-cam for cutters such as this one which is the Silhouette Cameo 4. Cricut is another popular brand of cutter and similar in price. Hope this helps! 🙂👍

It's looking good! You did an amazing job on the body! I think I'm going to take my Super Avante out for a run this weekend. It's very fun with gear diffs in it.

It looks great Mick! I really like the Revive RC body on these as it looks so much better than the stock one. I am not a fan of the stock looks at all! You cannot go wrong the metallic blue paint, it looks good on everything. I also like the custom saying on the wing too, nice revamp of the original! Great job as always on it!

@RCHobbyShed You won't believe it but the boss at Iplex asked me to go back . 18 years . Plastics again, don't even know him but he knows me. Couldn't say no to the money. I'm just about to set up the new welder for aluminium tig. Seems the same as fusion welding with an oxy in the old days. Give me a call if you need anything welded mate . I do that tape trick pretty often, especially on wings. I just find it easier to cut with my old eyes.
No probs mate, I'm still a learner with the cutter but will use it more and more in the future. Oh yeah, ya gotta have black vents. The black paint itself is just much easier to use, the silver is a real pain in the sphincter!

The pens are POSCA by UNI. They work well on Polycarbonate but you can still scratch it off so be careful with the finished product. Of course, try it on a plastic Coke bottle or something first and play around with it.

Good stuff mate. If you go to Officeworks you can try them out at the display. They make it hard to buy them though because they're all used!🙄 Talk about Mental! 🤣
Perhaps a broad black pin stripe along the bottom edge of the body as a finisher, would do something to visually disperse some of that excess real estate you made mention of along the bottom half of the body 🤔
Sir, I have been asking around the RC community for something, I believe you made. It was a 3D printed holder that fits the smaller style on/off switches that come on so many of the other style ESC's om the market. It would allow you to press fit the small switch into the mounting device and then mount it in the ON/OFF switch location in the RC car body. Tamiya has a mounting location that requires you to have the larger style Futaba on/off switch and I am getting tired of buying so many on/off switches only to cut them up and then have a small switch toasted in the trash. Was it you who made this switch mount in 3D print? If it was not you, I guess you can take the idea and there is a market for you to go after.
G'day! No, sorry mate it's not me. I have seen those recently but can't remember who made them. I usually just buy the normal size switches in bulk off eBay and replace those small switches with them. 🙂👍
