🎊25,000 SUBS!! CONGRATULATIONS 👏.🎊. A massive milestone is now under your belt. Im absolutely made up for you 😃👍. Anyhoo, a very interesting video and very enjoyable as always. Brilliant!!👍👍
Nice hop ups. Done all of those to mine and just installed the Sway bar set and it’s a nice addition 😎 be careful what Brushless motor you buy as most won’t fit
@@TAMIYALegends nice 😊 The Sway bars definitely make it look nice 🤩 I must say I’m struggling to get a decent gear ratio with the slipper clutch 48P ratios. I’m Considering buying a smaller Associated Spur (they fit). The Kit just lacks top end in my opinion compared to say the same motor set up as a top force etc..
Looks awesome Glenn. Still think your choice of paint and decals are the business on this 🙌🏻👍🏻 Great idea to compare it to the DB-02 chassis. Looking forward to that my friend
A lot of care is required with adjusting the ball diffs on the new super Avante! They are very sensitive to adjustment and should be adjusted by tightening a bit at a time and testing for slip, the screw doesn’t give hardly any feed back on how tight it is and can end up with it being much tighter than necessary! I fear this might create increased wear leading to premature failure, or stripping the threads if using the original plastic nuts… They work much better than previous generations silky smooth with zero slip. Thanks once again for your great content..!
Hi Glenn , looking good, those diff nuts a make night and day difference, got the uj’s in front of mine now and no more popping driveshafts. The alloy servo stays do help but don’t entirely eliminate the problem of the servo flexing under power. Awesome as ever ;)
Hello Glenn! Another enjoyable video. Looks a very high end kit! Do you think you will ever do a video on brushless motors and the meanings of motor turns? I have recently purchased a Tamiya TT02 after a 30 year break from my first bear Hawk in 1992. I never really had the money back then to explore tuning as a kid and now I do have a small understanding it would be good to hear someone like yourself explore basic motor upgrades. I also never had a electronic speed controller so this was a learning curve but I feel I’ve only scratched the surface. Love the videos as always, I’ll never own as many cars and buggies as yourself but feel the same excitement watching you go through the paces with each build sat on my sofa so keep it up and thanks.👍👍
There was a video on brushless motors, why you’d want one over a brushed system and what the terminology all means. I think the channel was Hearns Hobbies or something. The creators were based out of Australia but yeah, it answered the same questions you have about it that I did on the subject after I fit my TT-02 with one. EDIT: here’s a link to the video. ua-cam.com/video/Bc7jh3WxJE4/v-deo.html
That was a very informative video Glenn 👍. I recently finished my TD4, but didn’t get the slipper until 2 days after. Now on to hunt down the diff nuts and universals, so I might as well change all at once. I have a Castle sidewinder 3 brushless combo in it, and it is awesome. But the esc is quite big, so no room for the driver.
If You had a French accent, I'd call You Tintin! Finally Just worked out Who You Reminded Me of? Ahahahahaha! Love Your stuff TL, Tamiya Dreaming Mate, YUM!
The upgraded slipper clutch screw will work on the Egress ball diffs as well. You may need to trim a bit off the aluminum nuts spurs that stick out a bit to allow the bearing to slide over. Other than that it works
Hey Glenn, nice review as always. When building up my slipper I sorted out that I could sub in a 72 tooth Associated spur and it fits perfect. I’ll be running a hot 13.5 in it and going to that smaller spur was the only way I could fit a 25 or 26 tooth pinion since the size of the brushless limits how much gear mesh adjustment there is.
Nice Glenn, got the same bits for mine. You'll be hard pressed to find a brushless esc smaller than the brushed FX-R Pro. I'm stuck on the motor/esc combo myself with the TD4, I thought about the "Dynamite's all in one" unit but wasn't sure if the length would be a problem but they only have 2 wires coming off/out of them, the rx lead & on/off switch. ATB my friend, Stay Safe & Healthy!!!!
With the spur and pinion gears is it better do go lower in number on the spur and higher on the pinion, this will give better top end speed and when using with brushless set up you will still get good acceleration, will also be interesting to see any noticeable difference between the DB02 and TD4.
Hi Glenn, thank you for the video. Can you advise if the universal steering hop up improves the range of the steering. I find the standard steering to be a bit restricted.
Would love your opinion on an advanced kit to build. In the past I have built sonic fighter, monster beetle, madcap and the nitro mercedes clk gtr. Am thinking avante, but what's the most in depth kit as I enjoy the build more so than the drive.
Yeah luckily the name never bothered me, let’s be fair the Avante name died with the Avante mk2 and Aero 🤷🏼♂️. But people don’t seem bothered by those two variants just this new one 🤔 Interesting stuff my friend, I fear a lot of people have missed out on a fantastic new chassis 🤯🤷🏼♂️
How are motor temps on that thing Glen? Obviously it's not tucked away like some of the other cars...but it does seem like airflow could perhaps be a slight issue no?
Glenn, have you seen videos of a new brushed ESC called an 'ISDT ESC70'? Very cheap and very configurable, lipo support etc. Maybe a viable alternative for the cursed 1060. Going to do some more research, but I'm intrigued at this point.
Hi glen Iran into the problem with this and I had to modify the bottom piece of chassis to fit a brushless motor with the three wires on it if you find a better way to mount the brushless motor let me know please
I only looked in to see the diff type and heard that you put grease on your UJ's ?? Unless you want the dirt and dust to make a home in them and wear them out faster I would run anything in them.
Hi Glen, slightly digressing here, but are there metal driveshafts available for the DT03 chassis, can't seem to find any on the interweb. Not sure if DT02 or TT02b will fit. Thanks, Paul.

Thanks so much, this was a massive personal milestone for me to achieve, I’ll also hit 5 million views by the middle of the week too 😅😅😅
Nice hop ups. Done all of those to mine and just installed the Sway bar set and it’s a nice addition 😎 be careful what Brushless motor you buy as most won’t fit
Thanks Adam yeah I’ve actually just acquired every hop up available for it, so it’ll be going full spec very soon 😊😊😊

Nice reveiw of the hop ups needed, I really do need to buy all of these for mine as well
Wait until you see the next TD4 video, I’ve got every remaining hop up now to go on it lol 😂
@@TAMIYALegends lol look forward to it
Excellent! Looking forward to a running video of it with your commentary verdict of the post-upgrade’s performance.

Hey Wayne
It’s not really my style of video tbh, but I am considering doing a very basic version soon 😅👊🏻
It would be really great if you do as I enjoy your enthusiasm for all things RC and I do put the blame with you for my return to this hobby 👍

Thanks Barry I’ll be starting that build soon 😊😊😊

Interesting stuff 😊👊🏻
Nice upgrades I wish they gave you the aluminum diff bolt in the kit.
Yeah totally agree my friend 😊👊🏻
Fit the slipper and get Yeah racing geared diffs.
Interesting 🧐 why would you do that???
Ball diffs are just fine, but do install the slipper
Getting used to working on it and it’s ok- though can’t beat the df-01 for fast access to any gears!
Haha the DF01 is a dream to work on my friend 😍👊🏻
Looking forward to the Leon is.. rare beast them… would love one for my collection, alongside my hopped up db01 etc..
Yeah I’ll definitely be building it in the next month or two 😅👊🏻

Yeah it really sucks 🤕
Love the paint scheme on this Glenn, maybe you could compare TD4, DB02 & TT02B? 🤔😎
Thanks Rob 😊. I actually drove the TT02B yesterday, it was seriously awesome 😎
@@TAMIYALegends looking forward to seeing more 👍

You could fit a hobby wing brushless system
It’s the tab’s on the motor that are the problem 🤕🤕🤕
I wonder if Tamiya will release a fully hopped up TD4 chassis and market it as a Super Egress ?
He used that type of KV motor in it you should probably use the smallest pinion on it.
Looks good mate. I do love this chassis. Just not a fan of it being used for an Avante.
Yeah luckily the name never bothered me, let’s be fair the Avante name died with the Avante mk2 and Aero 🤷🏼♂️. But people don’t seem bothered by those two variants just this new one 🤔

@@TAMIYALegends Yes i do agree with you. And i myself would love to buy this kit after watching your video. The chassis is amazing for Tamiya.
Please show the Durga run video and let us know which of the two buggies is better, always like to know this sort of thing lol.
I love me Durga 😍😍😍
How are motor temps on that thing Glen? Obviously it's not tucked away like some of the other cars...but it does seem like airflow could perhaps be a slight issue no?
Yeah I’ve only ran it in the cold so not a problem, but I think it will be a problem in the summer 🤕
Where did you find florescent yellow decals for your model?
Glenn, have you seen videos of a new brushed ESC called an 'ISDT ESC70'? Very cheap and very configurable, lipo support etc. Maybe a viable alternative for the cursed 1060. Going to do some more research, but I'm intrigued at this point.
No I haven’t 🤔. Oh I’ll have a look at it 😊👊🏻
Did you say the car doesn't come with 48 pitch but it you need a 48 pitch when you use a slipper. I thought it was a 48 pitch gearing.

Hey Paul,
I’m going to be no help whatsoever lol 😂. I’ve never had a DT03 🤣
@@TAMIYALegends ok, there's a future build for you. 😁
Ball diffs really shouldn't slip, you end up wrecking the balls, plates, it gets too hot & melts the gear.
Thanks for watching and leaving a comment 😊👊🏻
You need to put a 5700kv in it. Lol
