Thanks for making things clear about the screws that go into the chassis for battery change. Good to know the go into an encapsulated nut so the thread will not wear out.
@@RCKickschannel the driveshaft should be high enough to clear the battery and chassis doesn't have any protrusions that would block transverse battery - so it might be possible.
If I recall the Yokomo 4wd cars and Associated RC10 2wd cars dominated the off-road scene in 1989 and Tamiya's Avante was not well received on the racing scene. However, the Avante was a fun car to own and drive - I loved mine.
The TD4 looks to be a very competent chassis with plenty on tuning options for the more serious buggy enthusiasts. Upgrading the plastic parts to fibre infused plastic parts seems that Tamiya are trying to compete with the Arrma’s. Looks good in the eye catching yellow and blue. Great informative video.
@@Genicksalto Arrma Typhon is what I had in mind. I have the Arrma Typhon and it’s an excellent buggy, but it would appear that Tamiya are appearing to challenge this buggy type?

Thanks for the great video nice add on suggested items (needed additional items) but some are out of stock of difficult to find could you create a list with items readily available and also not super expensive. I am really interested in buying the super avante but struggling to find Motor, ESC, Servo (low profile) that are good and fit. Ideally two list of readily available parts one less expensive and one more expensive.
I've got one on order; very excited. The box art livery appears to be a bit difficult to reproduce. How about a factory painted body, for those of us who paint best in one color?
I have a few questions 1st will you guys make nitros again? Because nitro is really fun and I think you guys did a good job on your nitro kits 2nd how come tamiya car parts are hard to find compared to some other brands It’s very hard to find parts online and in hobby shops
thanks for all the important and useful information - will definitely be adding one perhaps two to the collection as gotta have a shelf queen one of these bad boys Thanks Again Tamiya USA , Oh and Please re release the Porsche 959 :-)
I don't understand how a new kit can be released with known major issues such as the servo mount and diff but? Also the slipper should be included as standard
I love tamiyas, 🤦♂️but geese all that to get the battery in and out? I think somebody could have made a better design for the battery compartment...hope you never have a lipo go up this one will defiantly be burnt to the ground!
Yeah, seems like they went backwards with this design. Over complex. Some people might like it, but definitely something I would avoid, sorry but I think its terrible and ugly. Really disappointed as I am a Tamiya fan.
The technical mistakes make this video appear very amateurish. Get somebody from tech support or just an RC enthusiast from warehousing to proofread before posting.
The front cantilever shocks are taking up space underneath the body unlike traditional shock towers that sit outside. Would have been nice if there was a battery compartment underneath the chassis like other models.
What they all fail to mention is the difference tophat nut is made of cheese and as such if you intend to even think about running it you need to but upgrades first, running it with the crap pastic one is death by diff loose! As always tamiya have produced a good looking car and then let themselves down over the quality of parts.
That spur gear info is all wrong. Firstly, there's not such thing as "metric 48" - it is a 0.6mm module, which is quite far away from 48 pitch (roughly 0.53mm) and this misnomer could confuse people. 0.4mm you mention is identical to 64pitch. It's quite sad to see this in an official video. Edit: did I hear right Liquid-Polymer battery? Are you serious?

This new chassis is definitely for parking lot/park bashing.. it’s just to bring back the name with some unique features. People have been asking Tamiya to revise older good chassis but they always completely ignore. This chassis is cool though, a Lipo with a brushless setup and the smallest pinion, it’ll sure be fun after some tweaks to the suspension and possibly some tires. For the average person that is.

Excellent video and great attitude. You've done your best to answer all the queries that have come up. Good work.
It looks like you can mod the chassis to run a battery across the chassis going by the blanking plates on each side of the chassis. Is this the case?
The drive shaft might get in the way.

It should..My top force does

Liquid polymer?
At 2.37 there appears to be something wrong with the tyre! looks like it is split in places :(
Looks like wet glue or clear glue on a big tv?
I think it’s glue also , but it does look like a defect in the tire .
I think the designers have to take in consideration the ease of repair and replacement. Why would they make so hard to install a battery?
