Hey everyone! I just wanted to mention this is a 2022 Hyundai Ioniq 5 SE trim AWD with dual motors. I purchased it used at Carmax at the worst possible time lmao. (All cars were super over priced at the time) I also wanted to speak on maintenance: So far Ive had to change the 4 year old 12v battery (Not a ICCU issue), change the windshield wipers, cabin filter, and get the tires rotated. Literally no other maintenance. Thanks for watching and I hope you enjoy!
Nice review! Retro, modern, minimalistic, line and pixel are the words you used to describe, and I agree. Ioniq 5 is a true "back to basic", just simple and basic, but simple is sexy! 😉
Hey Carlos Great review...we have 54000km on our Ioniq5 which we picked up June 29 2023. We have had 0 issues, none, has been an awesome car. Love it! Just so you know (probably do anyway) you can fire up the seat heat with voice commands which is convenient when driving. Fantastic car, our previuos EV was a Hyundai Kona which we road tripped everywhere and it was again solid and totally reliable. Our I5's longest road trip was a 14,648km 43 day trip last fall and it never missed beat! We also have a 2017 Nissan Leaf that we use as a grocery getter and again an absolute great little EV! Enjoy that I5 - they are an awesome car! Cheers Mike and Ally 👍
Thanks for watching! I’ve done all my charging on DC fast chargers and sometimes on level 2 chargers through out my city. I do plan on getting a home charger later this year.
Gotta agree, very happy with the ioniq 5 overall, but the software ui and app are clunky as heck, with many strange design choices. Voice recognition evidently works over the cloud, so it's slow and only works where there's reception. Also, I haven't seen this particular complaint elsewhere, but the manual's index is almost useless. (But maybe nobody ises the manual anymore).
Thanks for watching! I personally haven't looked at the manual but I could see how it might need some fixing. I hope they learn from all their mistakes in the newer models.
What exactly do you believe the software is lacking in terms of features compared to other cars? Also which app do you believe is better? Because I often hear people complain about that, but then there is virtually no car out there with a more advanced software. It just doesn't look particularly fancy.
Rivian, Tesla, Ford all have amazing software that works with your phone/watch/computer. They usually have more options for understanding what your car is doing, more options on using your car for camp mode, etc. Im not saying Hyundai has unusable software but if you compare to others, it's def lacking. Even ford has battery CarPlay features that no one else has. I still love my car and understand that this is a car first and not some toy. It's just nice to see software advancement from other manufactures and hopefully Hyundai gets there.
@ What's wrong with Hyundai's camp mode? I can go into camp mode, plug my guitar amp and lights into the 230V outlet, stream the backing track via Bluetooth from my iPhone, into which I also plug the mic, into the car stereo and use it as PA and blast away while sitting under the rear hatch and keep everything dry. I can even power and run the entire band from the boot of my car, including mixer, DAU, amps, lights and a small PA, in the middle of the forest with no power source and without a petrol generator cranking out noise and toxic gas. And I can sleep in there, with the heat on and everything. What's lacking? How many other cars can do that? Generally speaking, the Hyundai is very complete and option packed, the problem is the medieval UI, the complexity and some idiotic small details, like not having a button to open the charge port, the not auto-locking door locks etc.
Oh wait you meant miles...now my comment seems like I was being mean. My bad I just figured out what you meant lol. 17000 miles when I bought it and it has 58k miles now.
Depends on a lot of factors. If you pre-condition the battery youll be lucky to charge it within 20 minutes or less. If it's not pre conditioned then youre looking around 30-45 minutes. Over all in my experience it's not too bad.

@@ExploreWithCarlos There is a cost to that error. Please hand over the keys. Cheers
How hard is it to change the cabin filter?

Thanks for showing how to use the V2L feature. They told me about it but you explained it well. I love the car too
No problem! Enjoy your ioniq 5! It's an amazing car with lots of capabilities other than just driving it.

Thanks for making the video. Well done.
Enjoyed the video. Good info. Thanks! Do you do all your charging at DC fast chargers? Do you charge at home?
Thanks for watching!

hi carlos
Hello!
Grear car. How long does it take to charge to 80% on 150kw charger on a normal day & on a winter day?
Depends on a lot of factors. If you pre-condition the battery youll be lucky to charge it within 20 minutes or less. If it's not pre conditioned then youre looking around 30-45 minutes. Over all in my experience it's not too bad.
more plastic than a public bus and seems to be designed by LEGO. good grief.
"designed by lego" sounds so awesome lol. what's wrong with having a few weird car designs in the mix? almost every car now looks exactly the same.
Almost 2 years later and 60k miles and it's solid as a rock as a Bluth would say.
