Thanks to you and a few other UA-camrs, I confidently sought out and bought not one - but two toppers - in the last two weeks, my first foray into the world of toppers! 🎉 I don’t know if I will venture out into the world of wigs, too, but never say never. 😀 I love your channel. Have a wonderful week.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for EVERY video you put up about toppers! There just aren't enough really good, practical ones out there for gals our age and you do such a great job explaining everything I could think to ask. I've got an excellent Jon Renau topper right now that was much too long and the wig shop owner cut it to perfectly suit me. Looks like my hair when it was in it's best shape - only BETTER! And it looks that way day after day after day. Just went on vacation and I have my hair a break from wearing helper hair. Instead I just wear cute hats and go. But when I put my topper on after several days without - oh my! It looked so great, fully and healthy looking and so easy to get ready in the morning. I'll take as many topper videos as you have time to put out there, Jill!

Holy Lordy Jill!! This transformation was amazing. I'm silver now, gave up the wigs last year. My bio hair finally all grew in after I shaved it due to a medical condition. But the way you show all of us "make-up application, wig reviews, topper reviews, skin care reviews, confidence" are so down to earth. So wish you lived a little farther North....Like Redmond. LOL

Thank you Lacie, it helps to see that I'm not the only young woman who is loosing my hair, and my self image to this damn cruel thing called alopecia. No one bats an eye when a man loses his hair, but we get stared down and laughed at and sadly other women tend to be the cruelest of all. So much for sisterhood. At least that's what it's like for me in my town. But I had never actually seen a woman who wore a hair piece. I thought they were just something men got to try. But your persistence is inspiring and hopefully I'll be able to save up enough to try out one of my own.❤

Well, thank you. I definitely would not survive as a pioneer woman LOL....but, dealing with 'hair' is definitely up my alley. I am a Cosmetologist, with lots of experience in the hair world BUT it's completely different when dealing with helper hair! Jill I am experiencing major hair loss due to an autoimmune disease. I have really really thin AND fine hair. I've always hated the texture of my hair and almost every hair stylist has complained about the texture and how hard it is to do anything with it that is flattering. Now that I am 52 and I have Lupus, my thin, fine hair is starting to fall out. Every day it seems I have lost more and I don't want to go anywhere. I hate going to dinner with my husband and/or friends because I feel like everyone is staring at me. I'd like to get a topper that will be thin and fine like my own hair, so that I can blend the two together and it will look like my own hair. I don't know if I need a synthetic wig or a human hair wig. How should I go about making that decision?

As a new person to a human topper with 130 which is heavy on me because I’m fragile/Thin hair all my life. I’m 62 have thinning shears I have the new Courtney and did give it bangs but I definitely need to thin it so should I cut it blunt since i have a bob with bangs. Rent human hair even the bangs I cut into it still heavy on my head because always have had thin fragile hair so wouldn’t you recommend thinning it out after I cut about 1 inch longer than my bio hair. But I use Velcro grips and just 1 clip. Should i thin the hair and cut downwards for my bob. Start underneath the top hairs… Right… Thank You and I want to cut my topper on mannequin head.
    Thank you Julie

Brave you ! ❤. Hi Jill Have you ever seen the Ellen Wille “Lovely By Top Power” it’s a synthetic piece similar to what you masterfully did here. I’m tempted to order it because I’m not talented or brave like you. I love the short wavy bobs, but there aren’t too many out there, I usually take them to a stylist to have them cut. But I wish there were more already short synthetic toppers. If you read this, any recommendations?

As always a fantastic video! I too trim my toppers and start with the sides and then the back which I learned from you. I have always cut my own hair and other people most of my life. Do you use the thinning shears on the back cuts? When you cut synthetic do you use thinning shears or cut into the bottom? I used to cut my bio sides on an angle and seeing you cut your topper sides I think that I may like to do that on my topper. I usually wear my topper the same lengths that you do that’s why I enjoy your videos so much. Keep them coming!!!!!

    • @JillLynnBeautyTherapy
      @JillLynnBeautyTherapy  5 років тому

Thank you, Janet! So happy you enjoyed this! Yes, I did also use the thinning shears on the bottom in the back too! I have done both (used the thinning shears and blunt cut w/ scissors). ;) It all depends on how blunt I want it to look. ;)

So my thinning is right at the front hair line or my bangs. I have bought a few cheap toppers from amazon but they don’t look right at all because they seem to be designed to sit back from the bang line. I don’t have a very big budget but I would like to go ahead and invest in one good quality topper. I also have a very unique hair color. My hair is a very purple 4VR I add allot of purple booster to my color so I have to choose one I can color to
match. I do have my cosmetology license. I only use no developer no ammonia very gentle color that is more of a stain. Which would you recommend?

Where can you buy quality toppers like the ones you use at a physical site?

Is a topper the best hair piece for a receding hair line and generalized thinning on top and sides? Also have heard that any hair piece/ wig can be extremely uncomfortable in the summer because they trap heat from scalp, so any suggestions?
Lastly, aside from clips are there any tricks to prevent displacement of hairpiece/ topper when outdoors on s windy day?

are you sparse in the sides due to constant use of the clips from the toppers? Wondering because I used to wear great lengths hair extensions and it pulled the most on the sides and thus, making it very sparse. I felt as if it took years to come back to normal.

Am still looking for a mono top topper, lower volume density, below chin but just above shoulders, rooted, and in honey blonde. Very hard to find

You are a woman of all talents. I would like a teeny weeny topper. I have a head full of hair but I'm thinning in front just enough that I'd like an invisible looking topper around my hairline back. nothing long just a few inches in length. More like a strip from ear-to-ear. Is that a item I can buy?

Hello looking at your front to save your hair, you can put a soft braid to attach your clips to.
    Thank You,
    Please give it a try😀😀

Do you have an idea why the Uniwig human hair topper products are priced so much lower than Welch, Renau, Wille, etc.? Are the Uniwig products as good qualities as the major brands?
