- HELLO my sweet friends. The weather is FINALLY warming up here in the PNW, and I know I will be struggling to wear my wigs this Summer. Time to dig out the toppers! I am going to show you a simple ponytail option, and how easy and FAST it is! I love that we have so many possibilities when it comes to helper hair. I will walk you through exactly how I put it on, and secure it. ❤️

Jill, I have 3 of these toppers in different shades from RWelch, and I am a retired hairdresser, salon owner that helped people with hair replacement for many years. Wearing them myself helped to understand what the client needed and experienced. One good thing I’d like to pass on is a product called GOT2B glued. It’s a yellow tube of gel. You lay it on your hairline or skin with finger or brush, you will be amazed how strong a hold it is. You can reactivate it with a touch of water. I have sometimes lined the lace front with a little hair tape and then the gel on top- it also helps keep the lace front cleaner and protected. I’ve used this product for well over 5 years with ZERO issues. Inexpensive and cleans up well! Try it! No insecurities, and love that I have hair on my head!( a hairdresser with no hair is not a good thing)😩😊
Thank you, Patty! I have to say...I am not a fan of GOT2B glued. I have preferred the IT STAYS , and have used it with great success since 2017. ❤ I feel it is much more gentle on my skin and my hair. I can lift off my pieces without any stress to my skin, my hair, or the piece itself. I found the GOT2B glued didn't give me the same experience.
And it’s ok, Jill, I dilute so it’s not so thick and it’s another option when people can’t get another. I started using It Stays in theatre as the costume/hair designer, and was impressed as well! Thank you for commenting on this😊

Very nice Jill! I use to wear toppers. In fact, your videos got me started wearing them. I never had any lacefronts. I ordered top billing but it was on backorder and I ended up canceling. Wish now I had gotten it. Lol! 🥰🥰

Jill, I have been so curious about toppers! Granted I have no hair loss but do have fine hair. I am in that "transition" being in my latter 40's and just want something easy and I think toppers could help me out. Yours with this pony was amazing and I think I have the courage to try one to see what happens!!!!

I've only worn it once since purchasing it in 2017 because I am also so thin in the temples and the piece (and lace) just would not secure properly. I'm so excited to learn about the "It Stays" product! I have a wedding to go to in August and now that my bio hair is longer than the piece, it looks fabulous, like I have layers in my hair!!! Thank you for your videos I too am a NW resident here in Bellingham. I usually cut down my wigs into toppers but it’s been hard to get the right color since I let my grey grow out, I was just doing a black wig because that was easier to match but now I’m leaning toward the higher quality wigs and toppers, God knows I’ve spent my share on the cheaper ones. But thanks again and keep up with your informative videos 👍😊

Can you buy clips and sew them in yourself? The clips on my topper are like small combs and they don’t work? There is no clip part.

Excellent tutorial showing us how to attach it, I think I have been intimidated by the clips and you made it look easy! I am off to Martha’s Vineyard this weekend and will include a topper along with my wigs and give it a try. I am still struggling with the fractured vertebrae in my back, anything to make my routine easier is a blessing and that type of style will also be terrific with visors or ball caps. Hello Peg! Hope you have a GREAT time this weekend! There is a little prep involved with the "bio" hair before putting on a topper...I have to blow dry and straighten my hair first, which since I have so little takes all of a couple minutes! Let me know how it goes!

You've been very helpful. I once tried a topper years ago - my hair is similar to yours, maybe thinner. Anyway, at that time, the wig store (I attended in person) advised me that the clips would damage my hair so I didn't buy. I guess products have improved.
