MY TOPPER PROJECT: Taking you step by step through this little topper project. This is the Top Style 12" synthetic topper in Shaded Mocha 24B18S8 by Jon Renau. I am going to put a bang in this top piece and figure out how I can secure it to my head without clips in the entire front and sides. I have a plan..hopefully it will work! I will also show you how to use a heated, SAFE styling tool to put a little body into the bangs even though it is not an HD fiber!

My hair is soooo thin on top (with small bald spots all over for some reason!) that I turned to wigs- but I was too uncomfortable in them, probably because I still have bio-hair. So I bought a topper after seeing your Top Billing video, and now I’m feeling great!

So glad I found this video. I have a new HH topper that is not lace front and have not been able to style it where it looks natural because of hairline on it. I have same issue as you concerning my thinning hair at hairline. I'm making an appointment with my hairdresser to do exactly as you did. Thank you thank you. Yay Jill!...thanks for the great video! I have many wigs (and cut bangs
into many). I use It Stays on most all my wigs, and I'd suggest using it
just a bit (1/8"-1/4") below the hairline directly onto the forehead
skin then you can use less directly on the mono top. Always holds tight but comfortable. OK...I'm off to order some toppers. THANKS!

Wow. I have never heard of a topper. Thank you for teaching us about them. This is a very interesting option because I have a LOT of hair with a very low hairline at the nape of the neck, and was worrying about shaving it. I absolutely adore the curtain bangs. You look like Jacqueline Smith.

Good demo but I took my wig to my hair stylist who only charges for a bang trim. Last time I cut my own bangs I messed up but at least they grew back. 2nd wig is on it’s way & will do the same. 😉

Yes, I love bangs. B’coz synthetic fibers can stick to each other those little singles can show up for awhile.

Ooops! I just watched your how to put a wig on. I have gone completely silver, and gray. My favorite color is Auburn Red. Not red, red. Brownish red. I had Auburn hair for probably 15-20 years. I recently tried to color it Chestnut. Gorgeous! Everybody in the building went crazy. They loved it. I loved it. I couldn't do it more than twice. You helped me out because I have thought about wearing a Auburn wig. Your video helps a lot. I can still do my hair a Ash Blonde but I get tired of it, and I am pretty fair. Now I am Brunette. A lot of people love it but I missed my Red hair. Thanks for you inspiring videos. Paula61

Update 6/9/21 -- This JR topper is still my fav go-to piece. It just got better and more "me" the longer I've had it (since Jan. 23, 2021). It's the most realistic looking piece. In the past several months I've learned that in some things ya gotta go for the best you can afford...in hair that's a must, imo. I love full mono tops, the higher end wigs cuz they have a better feel and most likely longevity. I've learned I'm not a fan of lots of puffy perma-tease (ugh!). I have several wigs and 2 JR toppers now. I've returned 2 less expensive toppers that looked SO fake and one wig that looked more like a topper in density! I always look for wig/topper reviews before buying (on these returns, I didn't do that or I would not have purchased them). It's been fun.

Me too. This piece has an extended front hairline. My wig has lace front mono, advantage there, can still do everything she did here and tape at the hair line. IT STAYS can loosen from perspiration, but it will stick again when dry. Been there!! Tape doesn’t, so a long busy day or hot, life line.

This was my favorite topper ever, you are a great hair stylist. If I could change one thing it would be to have this been a human hair topper, I just don't care for synthetic toppers. Beautiful hair style.

Hair toppers are so great! I have found that extensions with clips do pull your natural hair so I won’t use those, but toppers that sit on top of your head, balanced, don’t pull at the clips at all.

Hi - This was very helpful to me. My hair is almost exactly like yours for thickness. I got my very first topper (JR Easipart 12”) 2 wks ago & am trying to figure it all out. The adhesive is exactly what I need as the front & side clips are creating big, obvious bumps & messing up the look. I have felt afraid to do anything to customize the topper but you’re giving me great ideas. Hairspray, cutting, etc., You have a great channel.

Just watched this video again Jill, I also sometimes like alittle bang. Thanks for the tips, I will be using your ideas. I’m thinking of ordering the same topper and maybe the same color. I usually go with 12fs8 or 12sf12, but I’m thinking it might be a nice change. Your videos are always a great help to me, thank you for your time and effort and your dedication to detail. Have you tried the Milan topper wig grip, I have the same issues with my sides like you, the smaller topper wig grip seems to help me with that. Thanks again

Jill I just started looking at wigs and wig toppers because I have lupus and some other issues and have been losing hair for years. I don't have a lot to work with from my hair line to 3/4 of the way toward the back top of my head. I have to say that you are very pretty and have lovely skin. When you were cutting the topper and pieces were more tousled and face framing that it was a very sexy,feminine and youthful look. I have to commend you on your styling, you are very talented. 😊😊💐💐

It's been a difficult journey for me. I don't like putting on make up or messing with hair. I'm learning more. Thank you.
I certainly enjoyed watching your video. I perform in full costume as over two dozen different singing entertainers. Each of course has their own wig. I style the wigs and do everything about them myself. You did a great job with those bangs. I'm wondering about the water soluble it stays that you use. I use a small strip of waterproof lace tape sometimes called Blue label. I use the one that is about a quarter inch wide and just do the front of the wig or hairpiece that fits on my scalp. In the rear I use a couple of clips. I've never had anything come loose or move. I like the waterproof because yes I can slowly peel it off my head at the end of the day. I also can have a little bit of alcohol in a spray bottle and just Spritz the front of the wig a little bit and it will really look release. I understand why you like the water soluble so easy to clean up. I just find the lace tape holds so much better than a water soluble. And I'm used to just taking a little cotton ball or washcloth with a little alcohol rubbing the front of the hair piece or wig and cleaning it up. Thank you again really enjoyed it.

I have the same topper in 18' and at the moment i can't wear it because of the hairline. I will try to find someone that can cut a fringe on it as you show in the tutorial, it looks amazing!!
Thank you Jill. Looks like you have I have about the same amount of bio hair. I would like to try a topper but probably would have a hard time finding one that matches my bio hair. I'm going gray but still have a slight brown in the back.
It definitely does not have to be an absolute perfect match to work.
