Absolute legend across sport history! So natural, I have watched a few of her interviews, she is always genuine. She is also always looking after the feelings of people surrounding her. It is so true that "breaking record" can be substituted with another word with better sentiment!
She's amazing and I completely agree.. in every sports records aren't broken. They are honored and newer records are made because of the inspiration of those athletes 🎯✅
Thank you Atomic for doing this. I think she deserves a raise but beyond that what makes Miki so special is her attitude towards life in general. Losing her beloved Dad was a great tragedy and all of a sudden she was facing adversity like never before. Skiing became unimportant for a while which is perfectly understandable. Whenever she decides to hang it up ( our hope is later than sooner ) , she will be successful in any endeavor she chooses. I have no doubt because her upbringing was as good as it gets and that's her parents doing. But for now, we just enjoy the perfection on the slopes by the " Professorska " as the Czech and Slovak commentators describing her. She is definitely a generational athlete. I started saving money to to to Cortina in 2026 just to see her ski in person. Hopefully she will remain on the slopes until then.
Think she's on a run to be passionate for All till she's in her 80 at everything she does. If you ever met someone with an indomitable spirit to improve herself, bring others up, help community she visits and invent impossible things behind the scenes - she is happy to hear your cheers. It's all for you and the Creator above. All glory to God!
The title "GOAT" gets thrown around a lot these days within all sports and media and such with the likes of Messi, Gretzky, Bradman, Jordan etc. Mikaela is certainly and already the greatest alpine skier of all time but there is a level of greatness above "GOAT" that she has achieved and separates her from the rest, and that is "National Treasure". Mikela they will run out of superlatives to describe your beautiful, kind, humble self when this is all said and done. Enjoying the ride thus far. Godspeed!
Mikaela is an incredible, well grounded young woman. As a ski racer, she is a wonder to watch. But I have to say all the women are amazing. Petra, now injured, Sara Hector, Teenage sensation Zrinka, Lara, Anna, Lena, Camille; the list goes on. There is such beauty in their control, balance and speed. Less than a second can spell the difference from a 20th place to a podium finish. Mikaela cares less about winning but damn sure that woman loves to race!
Thanks to you tube and some of the TV channels I've been able to see every one of this girls wins since the first win in Are back in 2012. Even most good skiers have no idea what it is like to run gates with such speed, power and grace having G forces accelerate you toward the next turn. Skiing is the best. Thank you Mikaela
Meaningful interview and mature, lovely young woman. I really appreciate her skiing ability. Reminds me of watching Rosi Mittemire win 2 golds and a silver in Innsbrook 1976 Olympics.
Mame radi našu Petru, ale mame radi aj Mikaelu.Bez jednej,či druhej by tomu chybalo korenie.Prajem Petke rýchli navrat, aby sa mohli dievčata zase nahaňať.Mikaela veľa šťastia a nech ťa zranenia obchadzaju.
Love this young lady. Like some other top sportsmen - Bjorndahlen, Rozov, Messner, Hirscher - Michaela builds herself a perfect connection between mind and body and keeps on developing it from season to season. Let's ask the Skigod to kindly care her out of any injury.
Safety seems to be such a high priority of, and benefit from, her preparation in such a high-risk art. Still risky though - Aleks and Petra are certainly prepared to ski safely, but they all must ski so close to the edge to win, and sometimes.....
I'm a little surprised that, after opening the 2017 season with a victory margin of _only_ 0.67, coaches and confidants didn't tell her "Well, after crushing the competition for 4 years, your competition is finally starting to catch up." She threw down a gauntlet in 2013 and changed the sport of women's ski racing.

@@Hugo_Furst-xin today’s women’s alpine skiing no other top competitor comes closer to that ideal than Mikaela. She is the cleanest, most stable, and has the smoothest transitions between gates. It is not just efficient. It is as about as graceful as alpine skiing can get.
I agree she has the most accurate technique. It looks to me like she frequently drifts the top of the turn, and then carves part of the turn near the apex. @@coyote75
