In particular, the sentence "Failing doesn't mean that you're a failure, it's just the concept that you can fail so many times and you could still get up and you could still race and you can still succeed" will stick in my memory. Thank you Mikaela for this "lesson" and for everything in general. Also, a big THANK YOU for this insight into your life. You are an amazing person and an amazing skier and also my biggest role model in a long time 💕thanks and greetings from a 16 year old from germany. Good luck for your next race!🍀
I couldn't agree more. I can tell this to my kid all the time, but when it comes from a champion like Mikaela it means so much more. The difference between pros and amateurs is how they recover from failure. Mikaela is pro in every way. What a class act.
👌 Exactly what we would like to see as supporters and fans. A little behind the scenes, training routine and some personal moments. Perfect. Well done. So inspiring. Looking forward to the next one. 👏
Thank you so so much for this. Sadly skiing isn’t the most popular sport in my country so it doesn’t get much mainstream broadcasting and I’m sure I’m not the only one in this situation; having such an example and great representative of this sport as you are opening this channel with the purpose of posting such contents is a blessing. Love you.
What especially I love is how much a fan you are of your fellow competitors. That's incredibly rare among really competitive people but among those at the very top - I can't think of any others...
I love that as well, just in general her attitude towards the sport and the competitors is very admirable in my opinion. I can think of others though, Kilde and Odermatt seem to have a very good relationship despite them fighting for every inch on the course.
Together with the human Miki there´s always a man inside skiing along - she´s duo in mind and one in body and the result is galactic. I am a hugde admirer. Thank you for all the thrills you give us.
What a breathtaking skier you have become with all your dedication and effort, Mikaela. What a beautiful person you are growing to be at every high level that you strive for. A big THANK YOU to you and your team for such an intimate look into your life and what it takes to push so many limits. All the best to you from another one of your fortunate fans who get to see these great episodes. It will be amazing to see you leave all past win records in the dust with such great heart, spirit, and LOVE.
Fabulous video: Thank you Mikaela (and Aleks) for allowing us to peek into your life. I was up before dawn for most of my career (retired pediatric surgeon), so I feel your pain about that. I admire you so much, and am thrilled at your success. You are also an amazing human being, and even us old (really old) fans can learn a lot from you!
@12:00 I love how Mikaela is ‘fangirling out’ at the sight of Marlies Schild and Tanja Poutianen…is someone going to clue her in that she is only a couple wins away from surpassing INGEMAR STENMARK?!! So glad to see her in a much better headspace than we’ve seen her in for the past couple/few years after her father passed. Man, is she in awesome shape and good form so far this year! It’s also very cool to see her getting ready to enter a new chapter of marriage and other such adult things that her youthful appearance always tricked us into ignoring the presence of! Here’s to a great season hopefully filled with smiles, [pain-free] lessons learned and many victories! Skål! 🖖😎👍
Thanks for doing this. Very enjoyable to get behind the scenes peek and so many great images. Looking forward to watching all of the other videos. Congrats on the record and best of luck for the rest of the season.
Bravo to You, Mikaela for How Far you have Come Especially after the tragic Loss of your Beloved Dad! I was Also a Huge Athlete growing up, I played every Sport and my Mom died when I turned 18 which just devastated Me, She was my Best Friend and so I KNOW How it feels to lose your Dad and How difficult it IS to go On but you have Honored Him with your Strength and Resiience in Keeping at It! You truly ARE the GOAT and I am Cheering you On in Every Race!! And NO questions about the Olympics, I was APPALLED at all those Haters who have NO Idea How hard it is to do what you do, You were a Champion THEN During those Olympics and You STILL ARE a Champion!!
Thank you for sharing! Watching you race is one of my favorite things. I started sking after watching Jean Claude Killy in the Olympics in 1968 Good Vibes! Peace and Love!
Nice first ep. Good to hear you talk about your take on 'failure' and hearing your appreciation for other skiers that've come before you. Looking forward to more 🙂
Mikaela, you are truly a warrior! I just saw your interview with Jimmy Fallon and I can't help but be so happy for your impressive achievements. I was laughing, shedding a tear, and hoping for the best that you may experience going fwd. You are Fabulous!!!
Great video. Did not expect anything but great stuff but really looking forward to more. I follow every race on the tour and was very glad to see Paula hitting her first WC podium. And soon Vonns 82 is second... Also very nice to see Swedens younger talents this season on the techside. Especially Hanna really taking the steps. Thanks and Cheers from Sweden. Happy New 2023!
I know that you might not see this but I am so proud of you with so many wins!!!!! You won’t remember me but 2022 (I think) you met my friends and I at the killington cup. One more thing , I saw your crash I hope you’re okay. From Amelia
What an opportunity to get back to the first videos and watch them once again after you broke the record. You're a true inspiration for many Miki. Congratulations.
Amazing… as fans we love to see this simple moments of your daily routine… breakfast, training, travelling, meeting with your fans… just to come to the best part: winning! ❤ 🥇 can’t wait to see next episodes 🔥😊
I love this first episode! Thank you for sharing your thoughts and your day to day life…. I wish you and Aleks all the best for this season! You‘ve got this❤️❤️
Love that you are doing this! I'm a big fan but I don't ski (I live in Kansas...no mountains) but love the sport and seeing the behind-the-scenes content. Wishing you and Aleksander all the best this season. Fly low, let it go!
Wish the fis skiing was broadcasted on nbc as it was previous years. Sad this year to not be able to watch, and have the great commentary with Steve Porino and friends. Hope it comes back! Thank you Mikaela and entire team for your dedication and hard work!
It 's pretty cool🤩 I can't wait for other episodes..😍 You are a big inspiration for all generation but especially for new generation of skiers. Thank you Mikaela for all of your success and i keep my finger cross for you🤞🤙
@@mikaelashiffrin I loved it, you are SUCH an inspiration on so many levels, I love watching you perform but also just your positive attitude and gratitude, giving those skis to Jimmy was such a class act. I wish you much success and joy! thank you for sharing your story
What amazing results from Semmering! Full time Mikaela watchers will know that GS is the most open category right now: Hector, Vlhova, Bassino, Gut-Berami, Worley, Brignone etc are all capable of winning any race. And Mikaela's recent GS record is relatively modest. So to come away with back-to-back GS wins, tied up with a gutsy slalom victory - that first run! - is very special. That she can do that, AND smash the St Moritz Super G...who else has ever been able to achieve these things at the same time, in the same season?
we offer kaiserschmarrn lessons at our Bavarian farmhouse if Mikaela needs to refresh her lessons there ;). Cool episodes! Cheers from the Adventure Bavaria Team!
And the good thing about the "Writer's Strike" is that The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon had the repeat with Mikaela Shiffrin on 2023-08-23. Thank you writers!.
hi mikaela, I'm also a racer, though not that good. I love skiing so much and I can't imagine my life without it but I can't seem to place in races. I think your struggle is so real and it's great to see you powering through it like the queen you are. 👑 -elisa, 12 years in Korea
Keep at it, Elisa! 💪 A LONG LONG time ago, I did cross country running in high school. The first month or so was brutal. I went to the coach and said, " I don't think I can cut it." His Motto was Pay Now or Pay Later...meaning if you put in the hard work and effort, you'll gain rewards for it. By the end of that season, I was classed as one of the scorers for the team (top 5 runners for each team). The next season, we were seeded for the Mt. SAC invitational against top teams from the US and international and ran in the State championship.
Mikaela, this video was brilliant! 🤩 Loved every second of it, and can’t wait to see more throughout the season! I love seeing any behind the scenes action on the World Cup, I never miss a race so to see what goes on in between races is great. You are a huge inspiration to me and I can’t wait to see what you can achieve this season! ⛷ Good Luck, and keep the great content coming! 😍
Great video! I was sad that we weren’t able to see your best at the Olympics, but I knew you would be okay!! Good luck on this season! I can’t wait to see the rest
Trying to figure out how to recoup from the flight we're taking to Australia. That's gonna be a LONG flight. Wish they could just make that "beam me up" thing a reality.
I don't think I've ever witnessed an athlete so genuine, balanced, focused yet relaxed in the best way possible.
Wow, thank you so much.
So focused , and so many different kinds of work out sessions. Her complete body gets worked over everytime ....
That's her secret to success.

Netflix pls do what you did with F1 and make this a show every year.
6:20 My advice: Separate the eggs, beat the whites, and fold them into the mixture just before frying. This will result in more fluffiness…
