All of it!!!
I have lived in this town my entire life pretty cool you guys did a little exploration video I will say you guys did miss some of the cooler things In town it is a bit of trash town now though alot of druggies
Definitely a spooky vibe and I like it but not if I was by myself. Lol.. I love the small wide open towns. Great video!!
We need to do a collab with a ghost hunter there. Would be interesting to see their process.
That's really cool and awesome place to explore my friend. You two are amazing. Keep it up and more vidz to come to both of you.
Thank you very much. We had a blast out there. More to come.
Yes, there is a part of you two that never grew up. When I was a kid my brothers and neighbors would have not been able to resist checking out those sites. Keep it young - cuz it keeps it interesting.
We're resisting growing up as much as we can. Hoping you have joined the resistance as well! 🙃🙃
My favorite part was the train yard. Really awesome big green Victorian style home with all the Halloween decorations. Loved all the cool bricks and brick buildings. The tunnel looked very cool, but definitely looked dangerous to explore. You guys are right about Ohio being hauntingly beautiful. Excellent video! Have a wonderful day yous guys. Bye now 👋 🙂
Wish we could have gone inside that tunnel. We need a cat with a gopro mount. 😂
Love all the old bricks ! Oh my that is a lime green house :) The news episode was fun :) There is always something interesting about walking through a cemetery, like this had so many very young pass away. It was cool seeing Dee's Diner. They sure have a lot of abandoned homes. Fun adventure 😊
Haha! Thank you. The news report was unplanned but hilarious with some good editing. The diner was so cool to find. It's so rare to find stuff still in an abandoned place. Thanks Cherry!
Awesome adventure! I love the raindrops on the windshield as you look through it on this cool town, sweet perspective! I had no idea about these star bricks, that's cool, fun history. Awesome railroad and old trains and carts. Awesome brick walls and buildings, cool garden, bricks just everywhere, must have looked so amazing back in the day, but super pretty with the nature overgrowth too. Nelsonville brick Park is sweet. Yeah, I'ma little OCD, and that brick placed upside down got me. Those glazed bricks really last a long time, great idea! Lovely night sky, beautiful colors! Ohio to me has always just been a drive through state, on to the next one for a good time, but you changed my mind on Ohio! Love the breaking news, the Liz Report, we need to keep that going, lol!!! Nice cemetery, sad for the young babies! You two have so much fun! Awesome tunnel, sweet history there. I love old buildings like this too! Pretty creek, water is the best, my happy place.
The bricks were a cool surprise to run into. So much of the area was built with them. I think we could manage more news reports in the future. 😂 We have several more Ohio vids to come. You might find some good roadtrip ideas. We got into a lot of fun down there. Thanks for watching. Hope you and the family are doing good.
@The Adventure Closet the family and I are doing well! Hope you are enjoying life, under the stars! Be safe, you two seriously rock!
Dats a lot of star bricks they made . a lot of well made structures there , nice walkaround in the cemetery, im going with the brick park , even though they had an upside brick . because there was no piano at the diner 🤣🤣 thanks for sharing
Haha! Good choice. I was very wrong about the piano. Sorry Wil!
Cool hike down to the mine, I guess there are some nice places in Ohio…..
Who'd a thunk? We would have never guessed it to have so much to see.
Man I used to do this stuff with my cousin but on a much smaller scale (meaning we'd go explore on rainy days around our country neighborhood lol) but I respect it! Hopefully this channel grows so you guys can take us on more adventures in the future! Subbed.
Awesome! Glad you liked the adventure. More of these are definitely going to come. We appreciate the sub and hope to see you around.
I have family from the area and have been going down to those hills my entire life. Seeing old Dee's diner in that condition hurts the heart. The route 33 bypass killed that little place. A lot of memories of stopping in there and having breakfast or dinner with my late father and uncles while down there during hunting season.
We could just tell that place held a lot of good memories and good food. Sorry it is no more.
The Liz Report. How original & how charming.
lol! The things that come out of my mouth. 🤪
You guys take us to so many neat places! Thank you for taking the roads less travelled. I think that would be a fun excursion in the summer, taking the scenic railway tour. One of these days you guys will find Doc Brown’s time travelling train! Those old silo’s converted to homes are really cool! And property taxes only $200 a year! Whaaaaattt! I wonder how old some of those homes are. Wouldn’t surprise me if some dated as far back as the civil war.
Ohio is full of surprises and history. You're right. A lot of the homes were colonial style. There has to be some real antiques out there. If we find a time traveling train we're going wayyy back and creating a time-lapse of evolution.. we're putting it on the vlog. That 💩 would go viral.
That was fun!! Those bricks are so pretty. It’s cool going through abandoned places but I always get a little sad thinking about that being someone’s dream and how excited they were to open their doors…I often wonder if the dream died with them or did the business not do well….I think that is part of what makes it all so intriguing.
Those bricks really were super pretty and yeah the diner was sad because it was a true mom and pop. Hope it had a good run while it was open.
I liked your video. It was interesting to see the brick kiln, but my favorite was the diner. When I see a place like that I always feel a little sad. It was once someone’s dream to open and run it, but now it sits in ruin. I wonder how many stories it could tell of the people who ate there and the staff who worked there. Stories we will never know.
On a happier note, I like seeing your still photos included in the video. It shows what in particular captured the photographer’s eye about the place. See you Sunday.
Thank you! Remembering to photograph when you're focused on filming is tough sometimes. I like that thought though.
Yeah the diner was so unusual still being furnished and all. Bet it had good food and a few regulars full of good small town stories and dramas.
Thanks for sharing!!
Thank you for watching!
I have a copy of my Grandparents grave: Greenlawn Cemetery plot section 18: Nelson and Grace Lethridge. I need to visit them when i go there. 🎉 thank you so much❤
It's very beautiful out there.
I thought.. "what's so eerie about a town made of bricks?".. That cemetery.. Really interesting and something special about reading those names and dates. Who were these people, what was their life like and why/how did they die?! 🤔🙃
I guess it's easy to make buildings out of brick when you're literally making bricks for a living 🙈😅😁😁
It's that Mother Skiver headstone that was the most eerie for us and that diner. There's so many abandoned houses in that area too. Yeah it must have been pretty cost effective to manufacture your own building material. Looked nice too.
The tunnel was used to bring clay into the haydenville brick plant. THose tiles were produced in haydenville.
Pretty cool! Thanks for the info.
Great little town, and history. They have one of those train plows at The Henry Ford Museum. They're huge!
They're so cool to see. Wish we would have stopped at Henry Ford when we were in the area.
@@TheAdventureCloset Just another reason to go back.
Very nice sharing
Thank you!
6:00 that’s a snow plow on the end, one of many that were common on northern railroads and up into Canada. This one was from the New York Central, once a huge northeast US system. A rotary design was also used in some areas which had a gigantic rotating blade on the front that was better for heavier and deeper snow. Union Pacific is among the railroads that had them and some can be seen at museums.
It was a pretty cool train. We loved this area for all the history. Thanks for watching and sharing your knowledge.
I love the old bricks and the tunnel made of bricks was cool its to bad it was to dangerous to walk. When I saw that round house that you all drove by I said to Shari " I bet if Charlie and Liz ever stop the van life stuff they would have a house like that" she agreed and said "If they ever do and need help fixing it up we are there". Ohio is impressing me more and more I have never spent much time East of the Mississippi but I am starting to like a lot of the places you two have hit.
You're probably right. We would love a project house for some cool content and having a midway point between the east coast and WA. That might be in the cards for us one day. Neither of us are incredibly handy so we'd definitely take your help in exchange for cool rocks, pizza, a goat or whatever currency you like. Not sure we'll give up the van living though. Van4life not vanlife!
@@TheAdventureCloset haha you had me at goat ... VAN 4LIFE !! ♥
Hocking Hills is worth seeing!
Oh yeah it was! We loved it.
LOL. You drove right passed my house.
And we didn't stop to say hello! 🤣 You live in a beautiful part of the world. We loved exploring Ohio.
My favorite? I dont have a favorite! Im with Liz, just falling totally in love with ohio! Every place is so cool! The brick works and the abandon and dilapidated diner! You just know its haunted! and there is so many old abandon buildings there. I want to go ghost hunting there! It would be awesome! There has to be some spirits left there. And that diner. I wonder what happened to it. Was it a tornado that blew through there? Or a wild storm? Was it robbed and shot up? It makes you just want to know. That was an awesome adventure that i found myself not wanting it to end. Ive never knew that ohio was so beautiful, and so full of history. Ive never really had friends from ohio, so i guess its not someplace i thought much about. But its really quite amazing! Thanks you two, for opening up a whole new state that im going to have to visit personally someday. It really is amazing!
Right? The imagination runs wild with so many unexplainable things there. Ohio crept up pretty quickly to a top 5 for us. It's so underrated and yes... full of ghosts! We just know it. 👻
i live by this area the old diner close down when the state rout 33 bypass was done i drove by it every day for work
Oh wow! That is one beautiful area.
That reminded me of the movie rose red
Haven't seen it. We'll have to check it out. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Where is that cave?
I have been to the tunnel but never found the other end of it.
We found this end of the tunnel on a trail back behind the cemetery. Had no idea it was there.
@@TheAdventureCloset I have been to that end and all the other things you went to except the diner and the cave
Vandals tore the no trespassing signs down most likely & thoroughly trashed the old diner. Since the diner is outside of town no one cares.
That's probably exactly it. Bet it served a mean breakfast at one time.
@@TheAdventureCloset Dee's had a great breakfast. I loved their sausage gravy and biscuits .
I have seen the star bricks in the past, but I didn't know the history.
Definitely a thumbs up 👍
That's cool! Crazy how much they produced out of such a small area too.
