If you look at the map, her job is about a block and a half away from the location of the cities bikes. Now, she's 6 months pregnant, worked 12 hours, and walked almost 2 blocks to get on a bike that she was hoping she didn't have to peddle home when thus happens. I remember when I was 6 months pregnant. I could barely walk after even a 5 hour shift at work. It felt like I was dragging my bloody stumps out to my car that was parked just outside of my job, and I would sit there for a few min before driving, never mind having to peddle a bike. Just sitting on a bike while pregnant like that would be taxing. Now, I get it. People who will never know how uncomfortable it is to carry a child and have to work will never understand.
I remember when my wife was pregnant with our first son. She actually went out on a crime spree, leaping over people and stealing whatever she could. Bikes, cars, motorcycles, RVs, anything she could get her hands on. Nothing and no one was safe. Then, once she had stolen what she wanted, she would leap away and wait in the shadows for her next victim. You can imagine that it was a tough time for all of us.

I don't like or agree with the generalizations either. It's not right that the negative actions and behaviors will always outshine the memory of positive and productive members of society, no matter what R@c3. This creates and maintains stereotypes, which is a wide open door into R'ism and hate towards other r@ces and nationalities. Exactly. A dispute would be constituted by some misunderstanding. This young man was gaslighting this woman into believing she had no right to the bike she rented. He then proceeded to abuse her by shoving her around and holding her in place when she didn't immediately capitulate. It's called abusing a woman... And also in this case a woman and child because had she fallen from what he was doing, which was likely, he very well could have harmed or even killed her child.
I love how the mother said her son was a gentleman. a true gentleman would had just let the pregnant woman use the bike that he was not using at the time. a truly decent person would not had made a mountain out of a molehill.

I've heard rumors that not all of the citibikes are the same. Some of them are easier to use because they have an electric motor built in. So you pedal to start the motor and then you can speed up and slow down without having to pedal. But not all of the bike's are like that and are like normal bikes that you have to pedal all the time. Apparently the bike she wanted was an electric bike and the other ones that were available were just normal bikes. Being a pregnant woman, it makes perfect sense why she would want the electric bike over the normal bike and these kids should've been gentlemenly and handed over the electric bike to the pregnant woman. Yup, exactly. That's why she didn't just rent one of the other bikes right away. It can be dangerous for a pregnant woman to exert herself physically like that. Even people who are conditioned cyclists, which I think it's safe to assume this woman is not, are recommended to get clearance from their doctor before continuing that activity during pregnancy.

The hypocrisy of this woman having the nerve to make the statement that the pregnant woman, who had just gotten off of a 12 hour shift, "then proceeded to weaponize her whiteness" is infuriating!

One thing Actual Justice Warrior has missed is the sister, in multiple videos, keeps making the statement "there were other bikes nearby" or at least something to that extent. But what the sister conveniently leaves out is the app the woman used, rented that specific bike before she went outside to claim a bike. Meaning, the app recognized that specific bike was docked and ready for use and the app directed her to that bike. If the young man trying to take got on the bike before her or actually took it away before she could dock it again, the woman could have been majorly fined if the young man stole the bike. So point being, other bikes being in the area is irrelevant when the app specifically picked that bike for the woman.

I think another, mitigating factor is that she was trying to rent a motor assisted ebike which are few in number as opposed to the regular power bikes, it may have been the case that this was the only assisted power bike available.
So you pay for the hire via the app, the app then directs you a specific one of the docked bikes (as you state), you scan the QR code and it releases the bike. Therefore the guy claiming it to be his hire bike would have had to do the same thing of course, so as I understand the sister was claiming that her brother had hired the bike and was returning it when Sarah arrived and tried to take it before he docked it, is that right ?

@@saran3214 No way to know for sure, but it seems plausible that this is a pattern of behavior, and most people probably just let them police the use of the bike (i.e. give it up rather than fighting for their right to rent the publicly available good). I'm guessing they filmed her because they got more pushback than normal. It'd be very interesting if they subpoena his phone records that could show he has hoarded this same bike for god knows how long (days/weeks/months). She gave them an out by having her attorney say they had no ill will, They could've moved on, but now they pretty much tied her hands here and she doesn't seem to have much of a choice but to sue them now honestly.
