Hey think team 👋🏽 great job Omar! Love your videos bro. Still new to youtube and trying get away from using my Samsung note 20 cellphone to shoot my food reviews and want to add more of my cooking videos going into 2023. Don't know much about cameras. But so far the nikon z 30, Canon eos r10, Canon Mark 2 interest me. What is the best to choose?
fujifilm?and ither brands? canon ef m system discontinued, eos r is old and severe 4k crop ,crippled canons, plethora of lenses in which system? canon s banned third party lenses manufacturers for rf mount!!! abd the issue of connectivity? didn t hear anything about hiw they connect or tether so you can podcast or stream videos online!!!?? it is a good presentation but lucks of technical advices..also nikon z mount now has triple the lenses from canon rf mount and counting but nikon s af is bad for talking heads ,only ff models works
Friend if you can’t spare at least $500 then just use your phone. You shouldn’t be buying any gear unless you have the money. Buy a $300 camera and very soon after you will reach its limitations and realize you have just wasted your money. Save money aside monthly to go towards a better camera. After all cameras for video UA-cam content is the second most important tool in your setup behind audio.
Plus aside from camera you will want accessories. Computer, Tripod, lighting, lenses (if you deem necessary), and ultimately and most importantly a good microphone that will at least run you a $100 if you want something good. Content ain’t cheap. Start with what you have and if you pick up some traction invest in yourself with your wallet. Btw SD cards for cameras fill up fast and aren’t cheap.
My vlogging camera can't have 30 minutes recording limit, overheating and battery issues and I love that you touched on that with some of your camera picks. Great list of cameras and review 😀👏🏾 ! I literally took notes of your picks.
Another thing to remember is: it's better to have 2-3 average cameras then 1 expensive. Yes you can start with 1 camera absolutely fine, but it's better to get another one even if you are doing talking head videos - to get 2 shots simultaneously. If you do more of outdoors vids it's better to have 1 dslr/mirrorless and 1 action cam
I could buy the FX30, but I am sticking to iphone 13 pro max and iphone 14 pro on cinematic mode. It’s a perfect workflow, i do n’t even need the macbook ad everything is done in the iphone
I feel like lighting is more important than the camera, I personally got some good lighting at thrift shops, only cost a few euros. Just a tip if the cheap cameras are still above your budget like me😂
Thank you so much for this video! Everything i needed to hear about cameras to know what I should invest into in the future and also where to start from! Loads of work into these videos but they save so much research time
My first ever vlogs I recorded with my GoPro 7 Black (with external mic), then I switched to M50 (what a beast of a camera at this price range). Now my main vlogging, photography, whatever camera is Sony A7IV - what a brilliant camera and I don't regret a single coin I spent to buy it. I have a feeling that this camera will stay with me for a loooong looong time :)
All the "under $500" ones were quite literally right under $500, since they were all $450-$498. That's quite a big jump from $100 to $450. Do you have any suggestion for like $100-$350?
I started my podcast this year with the Sony zv-1 based on one of your videos, and I've been very I started my podcast this year with the Sony zv-1 based on one of your videos, and I've been very pleased, when its time to upgrade, that Sony 7 AIV are my podcast goals, thanks!
Sony should update the zv-1 like a zv-2 version with the same new frame and touchscreen set up as the zv1f, keep compact size zoom lens as the zv-1 but with a wider focal length (18mm or 20mm) , the same apertures (f1.8- f2.8). That would be the best point and shoot camera ever. I believe they can do that easily.
If you're planning on getting started on youtube and you don't have any money---know one thing: you don't need 4K or any of these expensive cameras, especially if you're gonna be doing talking head videos. Nobody really cares about 4k. Everything still looks very good in 1080p. Use your cell phone. Invest in a decent mic and some good quality lights.
Great video thank you! I’ve been wondering specifically re: UA-cam whether a 4K workflow is worth it in 2023. I still shoot 1080 all the time… is primary value flexibility in post or does a 4K deliverable to UA-cam add value to the audience? Thank you! Love all the Think Media content I’ve gotta join the community soon. Video pro since 2006 😊
what camera would you suggest for someone like me who has a garden transformation channel. I have an iPhone 13 Pro Max that I use but its very pixelated.
Can you do a video on best vlogging settings for the canon R7, please? Just got it paired with the 16mm lens loving it! Huge upgrade from my m50 mark ii
Im going to be making videos inside only looking down onto my desk. I've never made videos so i have no editing skills so id like for the auto settings to be really good. Im looking for a camera that is easy to upload videos either by wifi or Bluetooth connection. Im wanting at least 1080p but the higher the better. I also want to be able to hook a wirless mike up to it. And ive only got about a $300 limit. The camera doesn't have to be a 2023 or 2024 it can be older just as long as it has what im looking for. What im going to be recording is knife sharpening and knife unboxing videos. What would you recommend or is there anything in that realm for that price? Thanks.
Camera makers really need to streamline their product offer, all of them. Seriously, there's WAY too much overlap between cameras features and lack of specialization. Take a look at graphic cards from Nvidia, we have models like 3060, 3070, 3080 and 3090 that are numbered liked that because they are progressively more powerful and we know they are the current gen of graphic cards because the previous were called 2060, 2070, 2080 and 2090 and the future line will be 4060, 4070, 4080 and 4090. The products offer for camera is simply a mess, I can't tell what a camera is designed for, what is the ideal customer or use scenario or for what is optimized for that particular camera. They should do two lines, Photo Line and Cinema Line, one optimezed for photos and the other for videos and from there create 3 or 4 variants for beginners, intermediate low/high and pro. Even after watching multiple video like this, I'm still confused
Most camera users are hybrid shooters, especially in this modern age of social media. Separating camera lines into photo and cinema would be a horrible idea. But I agree on the fact that they need to name cameras better.
Camera manufacturers are trying to milk their customers dry😂 but doing this in the least productive manner - producing lots of cameras with overlapping features/ features that no one asked for/ and with some basic functions not working (overheating/rolling shutter/time limit/ bad autofocus/etc) The whole mirror less segment is a scam - they are making a camera cheaper to produce, while not passing cost savings to buyers. The whole selling point of mirrorless - smaller camera, but it's almost a sham since they are not counting the lens, and don't count the worst battery life
Hi, Great video. Im curious what desk you guys recommend for doing stationary videos? I’d have a dual monitor and a mounted camera. Looking for some solid options. Thanks
I chose a ZV 1 thinking I'd step up to an A7-C later and make the ZV 1 my B roll camera. What I ended up doing was adding an RXOii to get dual angles, audio, and multiple angles on food. Plus the RXO has stereo sound.
Thank you for this review Omar! After doing some additional research, think I’m going to buy the Lumix S5 ii camera body. I’m headed on a 10-day Colorado trip where I will be vlogging, photographing the topography/landscapes, elk movement, etc., along with the interior of a mountain lodge. If you were me, what would be a good all-around lens option for this application, say under $1000? I’m looking for something relatively compact. I appreciate any advice. Thank you so much in advance!
2 setups - still loving my Sony ZV1 which just kills the "mobile / on locations stuff" - a genuinely awesome $900 spend (paid full retail the week that it came out - don't regret it!). My other set up is based around a few second hand Micro 4/3 cameras I bought - EPL5's and OMD10 mk III's. Cheap - do awesome 1080p video (all in need for youtube) and readily available manual focus lenses give me a 4 camera setup for eg video-pod casts which is just super cheap.
I have an iPhone 11, a very small budget, but I’ve got a laptop . Do you suggest I use the first camera under 100 dollars or use my phone with better lightning ?
Still trying to understand why you rank the ZV E-10 over the Nikon Z30 in most of your other videos. Seems like the Nikon is similar to the Sony, but with better image stabilization. If lens selection is why, maybe a video explaining which lenses would be best for UA-cam would help that statement. I currently shoot with the Z50 and love it, and for sake of additional angles have been considering a Z30 body to add to my kit. Love the videos and Think Media BTW.
