I have the same setup. Make sure that the power to the transmitter is excellent from the tail light. . Otherwise the power will not be enough to send a good signal wirelessly. Also be sure to power the receiver to a power source that turns on when the car turns on otherwise you will drain a the battery. That receiver cooks when it is on.
Check the following: 1. Distance between transmitter and receiver. 2. Interference from other components (make sure the transmitter and receiver aren't blocked by any component). 3. Wiring - you may have one of the antennas on the transmitter or receiver that isn't attached fully, or your signal is weak from your connections. Hope this helps.
