In TBC, I often saw female characters with no clothes asking for gold. One day, I was curious, and I also needed the gold, so I rolled a female blood elf mage, went S T R A I G H T to orgrimmar at lvl 1, removed all clothes and started dancing in front of high level players. Believe it or not, a bunch of them actually gave me gold. More than you’d expect.
I prostituted in WoW to buy my lvl and 40 mount. Absolutely no shame.

You didn't miss out on much, just painful grind, lag, two thirds of all class specs being broken and useless, the game itself shoehorning you into a very specific role, ludicrous bugs, bad itemization, painfully long leveling, annoying attunement chains for every single raid, new guys being shafted because guilds didn't want to go back to the previous tier of content just so the new guys could get attuned and geared, unstable servers, zero class balance, getting 39 monkeys together for a raid only for it to get cancelled because half of them didn't show or the servers just didnd't feel like it, gold seller spam and random bugs.
Elyseon your forgot the molten core runes wich were extremely annoying to do.....the freaking doggy trash that revives itself if you dont bring them all down together....all that time you had to invest to clear a raid.

the bosses that were overtuned in many ways.
bosses that randomly kill people and retards that ninja your raid.
resistance gear for many bosses AND small bags........ugh it was hard times back then.
and if you went to that nice battleground for some pvp experience there always was a ashkandi warrior that oneshotted your clothie face.
and the really biggest and worst part :
the dungeons and raids where without a map ! you had no clue where the quest had to be done if you didnt READ the quest text or where extra bosses in a raid where at.
no go to this area but go to the west where that tree is then turn to there and youll find....people dont think often about it but back then finishing a quest could be something you could take some time for.
unlike today where you head to that pos asap and finish your quest without ever reading a sentence but what you need to kill and gather in order to complete it.

I pretended to be a guy to avoid the BS. When the guild went on ventrilo I had to come clean. The guild quickly fell apart over just one girl. I found myself being told girls can't tank and while I tanked for them and they'd all only play as pvp geared and specced fire mages every dungeon telling me I can't handle it (any tank would know that's not cool). Then they said they missed "the old me". Gah! I was just trying to play the game the whole time.
Luckily when I did have friends we would 3-man those dungeons at above our level and it was great fun.
Tiana Tampico holy shit, really? They pretend like tanking is some sort of difficult, old technique with years and years of intense training. Did you leave this bully-guild? I only met people like that once, who said "My girlfriend can't play wow so any girl must be shit as well!"

It dissolved as two the other founding members turned on me. One guy liked me a lot and his best friend took his friend's interest in a lady-person as a threat to their friendship. The guy with a crush always follow his friend and so he would turn on me whenever his friend showed up. Crush guy wanted nude pics and for me to RP sex with his jaw-less Undead; when he was turned down he got resentful. It was insane. I JUST wanted to play WoW.
The saddest part was before the voice chat revealed me we had so much fun together. I missed those days too.
I know what you mean. It's like cake for dinner. It's nice but if you have it everyday for no reason it's awful. It feels as hollow as a participation award.
Well i never played WoW, but played a lot of MMOs that were copies of WoW and honestly, be it guy or girl (Man or Woman) i personally didn't care. Had guild leaders that we're husband and wife and i had a blast playing with them. As i type this and think about it, i think my best memories we're playing with women cause they just wanted to play the game and not have all the drama that sometimes came with it. I could dig that. I didn't care much about politics, power and such things in game, the only things i cared about was having fun (its a game jeez) and respect which is earned not taken. I could go on but if your still reading this your probly falling asleep.

Number 1 and 2 were perfect choices. They annoy the crap out of me. I've played since vanilla, and I LOVED classic and have amazing memories, but I still play and adore the game. And how anyone could run out of content, astounds me. I mean, if you ONLY want to raid, okay, but what a severe limitation that is. I will never have time to do all the things I enjoy in WoW, and it still seems so immense to me. Some days I just run around looking for secret stuff, or farming a rare mat, pet, mount etc. etc. Some days I just want to PvP until my eyes bleed, or get into the story & lore, find unique quests, or even dungeons and raids. Hell, even pet battles are a world within themselves. And if you're in game calling it dead, well, you're an idiot.
And to all these women speaking up, "omg I play WoW, I'm super rare!" No... No you're not. Many women have been playing WoW, since day one. (Including myself) but there all always plenty of g.i.r.l.s. too. And if it works, who can blame them? Lol
If you're willing to give someone gold or favors because they say they're female, well.... I'm sorry for ya son.
I play a lot of female toons in WoW and no one has ever given me any thing and I'm ok with that. I just find the female form more attractive, go figure. As for nothing to do, say again? I can make no more toons as I have maxed out the alt limit so I have all kinds of things to do. I have one server with every class at max level and a second with every class at 90-100, alliance and horde respectively (man I have no life...). As for my second account...

Whats the problem? it is not a rare "pet" yet, it is a rare "mob" with rare loot!
They're talking about the Rare Elite mobs that drop nothing, their sole purpose is to have a long spawn timer and unique-ish appearance in order for them to be sought-after pets for Hunters. A prime example would be the various Rare Elite mobs introduced in Cataclysm.
my own familly did that to me, and after years since WotLK they still put their finger in my wounds for killing Skoll and being the only SB I never tamed
they used to also be stronger/have better stats than the common mobs of the same class. now, it's all cosmetic
God, I did that once. Not even on purpose. The worst thing is that I was even a Hunter myself.
Naturally the guy was seething, and who can blame him? That was a pretty douchebag move, even by accident. I poured a truckload of G's in his pockets, and that cooled him down a bit, though.

When i get bored with questing, i just go exploring. When i started in Legion, once i got to lvl 40 and got a flying mount, i fly up and down all the landmasses and was fun and enjoyable to see everywhere i would get to visit at higher levels.

I went back to WoW for Legion and i was amazed how many 1 wipe guys there were. Was in a guild where a guy counted how many mistakes people made (ie pull an extra mob) and threatened to boot if he felt u made too many.
I remember when I was about 9 or 10, when I first started playing, my dad told me never go to Goldshire Inn. I did once, when he was at work over a break. I didn’t understand, but all I knew, was that I felt like a rebel.
I'm a rather new player and I don't do dungeons because once I did it I only got insulted to death because I didn't know what to do
Fred the Fish i am a fairly new in WoW too and tbh in the beginning i was afraid to do dungeons but as time went by i realized they are one of the quickest ways to lvl up and get good gear. Just don't mind those idiots and u will get uses to doing dungeons =]]
I'm a fairly long time wow player, and today, when I joined ToV, a Legion raid, got insulted so hard that my soul accended to hell. I mean, how the fuck am I suppose to know that I get one shot by a mob when nobody tells me? Why am I suppose to as a DPS character tank the boss? T.T
all the information on all dungs and raids are in the Dungeon Journal. Take a few mins to read them for the dung you wanna do as it gives you a basic idea on what to expect.

In other words, this isn't a game so go do your damn homework before you go in and waste other people's time? This is the attitude I hate about WoW. It's a game guys. The dungeons and guilds I have had the most success with are the ones that help out their party / guild members. When I played years ago there used to be lots of chats, people took their time in dungeons and people would help out and make sure no one fell behind. Now days it seems most (not all) dungeons require you to already know all the ins and outs and the groups blaze through risking accidentally pulling mobs during big fights because they don't take a minute or two to clear out the area. I like the game changes they have made over the years - it is refreshing and fun, but the people who play seem uninterested in talking, coordinating, mentoring or doing anything but quick blasting through the dungeons for gear. Where's the fun in that?
You forgot the high level ass-holes who come in to low level enemy faction areas and kill all the npc’s and all the quest givers. I’ve mainly see this happen in honor hold but, that’s just my experience.
While it's true those guys are indeed annoying, it's something Blizzard specifically allows them to do. That's why the NPCs are killable. Can't really say they're being assholes when they're just doing something the game was designed around. They should make the NPCs untargetable for any player who is above a certain level.

My first tanking experience, I played a Guardian Druid and I had two warriors in my group. They were pulling so much aggro. We wiped and they left. And they were ranking 1st and 2nd on the dps meter

But it was because it was because the Tank ran through the entire Stockade and pulled 2 bosses and all of the mobs, and then proceeded to run back towards the rest of the group.
He followed it up by saying it was the healer's fault.

Today I had a pally tank and his cronies kick 4 healers in a row because they weren't up to his standard. None of us died once but apparently that wasn't good enough for his fabulous ass.

Nah, to be honest, Horde players are more honest that Alliance players. Atleast from my experience. I've never been camped by a horde player while leveling, and I've played on a bunch of servers, some highly populated, some low populated. I've played since WoTLK, just to give you a perspective.

Personally I very rarely get on voice chat in any game. Only if I actually like that person or it's sort of necessary (raids or other group shit). I'd rather they think I'm a dude pretending to be female than potentially get perved at. "Hey, you sound sexy!" Ugh. **shudder** I'm sure he's correct about the "most likely guys" bit, though. And even if they're not, gold/boost/whatever whores deserve to be ignored. :P

Wow is dead, BC was the best. Ppl nowadays wouldn't know what they missed. The game has just 0 content and since everyone plays that casual dumbed down wow, they cant even do dps, since i reach the top dps in recount every time and that as a girl. Seriously the only thing i do in this game is roleplaying, because it's the only thing i can do seriously since the whole game is full of 12 year old kids.

A hardcore pve freak,, but still I enjoy it to the max. Every now and then I create a char and go lvl in gold shire just to listen to Elwyn Forest music, then when I hit lvl 10 I get back on my main. A rogue since wow started and I even co-founded SI 7.loool. keep it up. Love the content.

I'll agree with all of these points besides partially about the "content kiddies". Saying things like "well did you do Garrosh yet?" or "did you get such and such achievement?" can be a bit silly because if a bored person had an interest in doing one of those things then they probably would have done it. It's like if you said in real life you were bored and I said "well you have a television, have you taken it apart to see how it works?" just because you own a tv would be silly. Just because you own something does not mean you are interested in every single aspect there is of that thing. Of course I know many of these people are just crying for the sake of crying too.

I met a Special Snowflake in a random just a few days ago. He was a silent Special Snowflake, though. He was tanking in Uldaman, and he was going his own way while the rest of us wanted to go the fast way. But we followed him because he was the tank. And when these gloves dropped from the boss, they are typically supposed to be for tanks. But they have a random enchantment each time they drop. So, when these gloves dropped, they had 30 attack power with them (as well as 7 defense). And me being a DPS Warrior, I took them. He turned around and stared at me for 10 seconds and I finally said "What? They have 30 atk.". And he just left the random without saying a word. What a Special Snowflake.

@Julia Aquina You do realize why that happens though, right? In a lot of cases it's not cause the tank is impatient. It's because of experience with impatient hunters, or whatever, but typically a hunter, who will pull if they think you're too slow. So generally tanks try to pull aggressively enough that nobody will become impatient, pull a whole bunch that you can't get aggro on in time, and cause a wipe. And while doing so, sometimes you missjudge the party. You might come from a run with practically MLG players, and so you pull a bit too much in the next run. It happens...
LFR is good that casual players now has a chance to finish the campaign and see the outcome. It is bad that working people like me stopped playing WoW more times on normals and heroics. I wait a week and finish LFRs and take my spoils to finish the legendary quest. For instance in WotLK i tried really hard on heroics but never able to finish the campaign. But in MoP I tried casual things like questing, gaining reputation with all factions. I could finish the campaign because there is LFR. Elitists do have their own world in mythics but casual players should see the end I think with lesser gear.

I enjoy WoW as much as anyone and love finishing the campaigns, the quests, etc. I also work 10 to 12 hours a day in real life. Plus I have a social life outside of polygons. Just because you don't have a life outside of WoW other people do. The reason subscriptions have gone down, besides elitist idiots like yourself, after the start of an expansion is that real people have lives outside of this game. When they do it still takes a ton of time even to get the legendary campaign even doing the LFR raiding. The game is great but a time succubus to quest as well as raid and most importantly to sit back and enjoy enviroments created for a few hours a week.

The leeroy incident is actually true, but it was never recorded. the Video and the stories u read about it were created based on the original incident that was leaked by members of that UBRS group, and was changed a bit to make for a good funny story/video. So yes the Video u see is Planned/Set but its based on a Real story that occured somewhat differently
Following up with the #1 thing, as long as Blizzard keeps the servers alive I will keep playing WoW. Plus if they keep making expansion packs for their game, I will keep buying them and keep playing. :D

(ram4ix) Been playing since Vanilla and yeah they change it with every xpac (usually making it easier) :P It's good business sense, they only had 2% player base raiding end-end-game content 1.12 and now they get over 40%.I don't think it was what caused them to drop the player base though, it was the release of other MMO games, particularly F2P ones such as League and DotA2.
Cata was sick when it was first about, the heroics were hard and it took me like 2 weeks before I could even raid (drop rates were disgusting) but then it sorta trailed off.. never played Pandaria when it was live but came back for Draenor and I don't think the raids were harder, I just think that the game has attracted an overall less skilled player base. I mean experiences will differ but this was defo my feeling for Draenor. In Vanilla/TBC the mechanics weren't that hard but if you failed them boy were you punished, which is a contrast to the new stuff cause they add loads of mechanics but they are fairly easy to bypass. I do think that mythic is a true challenge though, and although it's not quite the vanilla experience (which at times, for me, was ridiculous) it's definitely a nod in the right direction. Not even going to mention raiding in WotLK... dafuk was that blizz :P
Thing that made me quit 3 months ago was how dead my server was.. sure they merged it with another (also dead) server but I don't want to have to pay £15 or w/e it is to swap my main over to an active server, be nice if they just sorted the player base out.. I'd defo come back and play if they did! :)
+Adrian de la Torre I'll keep playing it as long as the lore in each region is good. I stopped hardcore raiding after Cata and now I play for maybe grand total of 3 hours a week. There is quite a bit to do in-game and people still find it fun, so why not?
+iWaBa FET I don't ever recall WoW being "hard", arguably if you were able to get on level gear you were generally going to be ok unless you used a very unbalanced class (e.g. soloing Resto Shaman). Just RNG was generally against you and fights lasted longer with fewer rewards (which was nice because you learned your spells and a good rotation more naturally). Now you don't have to stress about grabbing one bear and pulling a second because either A) threat radius has been changed or B) you're not so squishy that a second bear means instant death (corpse running was never fun).
The 1 wipe and I quit guy is the absolute worst

i played vanilla/bc and because i didnt raid back then, it was completly shit and boring for me because it really didnt had much to offer besides RP or PvP grinding. Thats why BC will always be on the bottom of my fav expansion list.
PS: I have a #2 in my guild, he raided 1 time with us and then just started crying that there is no content and when i said "maybe try something like PvP?" he totally lost it and starts to spam the chat like i had offended him somehow....
I had the same story with BC and Wrath, so to me, WoD is currently winning out as my fave (Though, it is pretty awesome)

We recently started playing again and we can really tell where the improvements are and the downfalls! It seems to be more of a casual game now, and an easier one at that! Not at all bad for people who are playing again and don't have much time, but I don't know how it is in raiding guilds anymore. I miss being able to make friends with people you're leveling with, and then joining a guild and knowing people. The human part seems gone.
