I've been playing this game for years and EVERY season it never fails that I learn something critical... every... season... one of the great things about it I guess haha!
You are the future of PoE guides. I've been looking for this exact guide for over 2 weeks. No other famous streamer managed to explain the mechanic like you did. Excellent job, mate! Keep up the great work
I hadn't even completely gotten through the video yet, and cheered when the color-coded bar showed up. This is easily one of my most favorite things about your guide videos.
I'm a new player, just finished the story on first character and halfway through on another. I've watched TONS of videos over the last couple weeks. This is by far the best, most informative video I've watched. This has helped me wrap my head around maps and the atlas better than any other video on the subject. The way each section builds on the others is great. Hope this gets a billion views!
i went through like 5 atlas guide videos until i finally got to this one, which explains the "detail" with watchstones shuffling to get the higher tier maps.. and more watchstones... very nice guide and perfectly noob friendly.. ! subscribed..
Your video is just the most complete and understandable video on youtube about the atlas, I've just started out and you absolutely opened my mind. THANK. YOU.
I have been trying to *properly* digest how to work with the atlas for quite a while. This is by far the most clear and concise guide I have seen. Super useful.
Finally, an articulate guide to a difficult to understand POE game aspect. The provision of an effective approach to map completion is invaluable as well. Great job!
I watched a couple of similar videos about end game progression, yet yours gave way more details. I love how calm and methodic your explanation is. Also very easy to understand - great articulation and pronunciation. Thank you (subscriber earned).
Dude!!! AMAZING job explaining the mapping content. I’m a new player and most videos explain the endgame mapping system as if I already have a basic understanding (which I don’t). Your video breaks everything down from scratch and it’s a big help. Great job.
As someone who is just getting into maps this league, thank you very much for a *true* beginner's guide. So many other so-called beginners' guides end up assuming that the viewer already knows some of the basics, which can be a poor assumption. Having a truly detailed guide like yours that explains everything as if the player were brand new, which they often are, without injecting all sorts of assumed jargon and abbreviations and shortcuts, is highly appreciated.
thank you so much for this, it's been about a year and a half since i played and knowing this information as i'm about to start mapping again is wonderful!
Most useful and understandable guide so far about the new Atlas. I was a bit struggling how to sustain higher map drops while also finishing the Atlas bonus as well as the watchstone drops. Thank you for this!
Never got to endgame due to lack of patient (ADHD)... but now... You saved my motivation to try to "complete" POE this league! Thanks a bunch. Lets keep spin to win!
I have been searching for someone that has an expert level IQ in Path of Exile, but is also socialized and not awkward to listen to. The way Badger teaches and explains difficult in game systems and methods with ease is truly a breath of fresh air. Thank you for keeping things concise and to the point without to much fluff. 5* Content.
You're content is really good Badger. Keep it up! This is a very clear video that I'll use for my beginner friends... and also take a few tactics for myself. Cheers.
To help on the completion part of the atlas, Zana refresh the shop every time you start a mission with her on your Hideout. It's super useful to get the maps you can't get from drops
@@johnsims9907 Uhm, if it's a mission that's forced from the map device her inventory resets each time. Though maybe not on natural encounters. At least in my experience, if I'm not delusional :P
I think now with the newest qol ui improvments it's more simple. When you cursor over a citadel you can see how much watchstones you need to socket, on left you can see how much maps you need to spawn the conqueror. Basically it goes: Build up map base, defeat conquerors, slot in watchstones required to spawn rinse and repeat, when you move to yellow and later red maps build up bases again a bit.
Easily one of the most concise guides, I've recently returned to PoE and this has helped a lot. I would say you didn't mention the vendor recipe that can sometimes help get that one tier 3 that's eluding you. 😊
3 of the same map of the same tier to vendor gives you a new map of a higher tier, or you can use harbinger orbs to change the map to a new map of the same tier
Thank you for this. I played last summer and had a hard time getting all the atlas information. I was rather annoyed when I came back to this new atlas. Alas it does seem to be quite a bit better once I've gotten use to the new mechanics. Cheers!
I found this very helpful because I don’t exactly have a lot of time to play being married, a parent and a student. It makes getting to endgame easier because how complex it can get just trying to get there.
Great video, exactly what I needed. Is there any way you could make an advanced follow up guide to this detailing how to craft maps, use chisels on watchstones, etc. in higher tiers to maximize currency gain during map farm? As a new player this would be extremely helpful. Thanks again for the video. Cheers
You are very well spoken and do a good job of detailing the steps. It would be nice to actually see in the video how you do more of the things you just talked about. This may take too much of your time and resources but it would improve the use of the video for us that are new to POE in 2020. Thanks a lot for this though. I think I have a better understanding or at least enough to mess around with the concepts you covered and connect the rest of the dots myself which is the point. Right. Please feel free to do more guides. I have subed so I can look at more helpful content.
This is a great guide, thanks Badger! Sorry to hear about the job, it's a crazy time. A quick reference image/written guide could be helpful. A few small observations that may also help: for copyright free images that don't have shutterstock logo on them, check out pixabay. And Rhys at GGG is pronounced "Reese".
Awesome guide.. really detailed and very well explained. Just this 1 video and I had to hit the subscribe video. Do keep up the good work. Wishing u very best for future content. :)
Shows that POE gained lots of popularity. Much more explanation of the Atlas w good videos. Karv's Atlas of Worlds explanation presentations look so outdates. Not the content, but the presentation. Good presentation dude. PS: this also shows in the subreddit. there are much fewer questions popping up about atlas progression (compared to 2017-end of 2019 Atlas of the Worlds and War for the Atlas). I doubt it has just to do w map drop rate, but with the good tutorials on youtube!
First off, excellent tutorial. I've been playing PoE since Closed Beta and this went a long way to explaining Conquerors of the Atlas. Second, it is exceedingly unlikely I will ever make it to any endgame boss. I have never fought The Shaper, The Elder, and I don't see Sirus happening either. The entire time I've played I've only just managed to break in to Yellow Tier maps before a new league hits. Perhaps if the next league is meh I'll focus on maps in Standard.
Little tip that wasn't mentioned (or I missed it): Prepare the maps you want to run in bulk. Use the searchfunction in your stash to find and reroll maps with mods you cant run. This saves a ton of time and time is chaos orbs :)
Great guide Mister Badger! Helped me understand. As a suggestion for a future guide: Could you describe the Betrayal mechanics and how best to complete Jun missions in order to get the safehouses, and subsequently Catarina, quickly? Maybe it's just me, but I never know if I should execute or bargain...
There is cheat sheet on PoE labs for which dude you want in which division. And in general you want more trusted, less rivals, and Haku suck. But a good guide on that would be nice. All other out there are pretty meh.

Life of the first time PoE player is more like this:
1.Kill Hillock
2. Open skill tree
3. ????????
4. Uninstall
1year later: "Guess I'll try again"
To those who are just joining the game, this is like listening to that explanation of the Turbo Encabulator

I just came back after playing a few months about 4+ years ago due to quarantine. Still doing n0ob crap but better than last time. ;oÞ

Excellent job, mate! Keep up the great work
Respect for the color content bar! First time I see this kind of solution, but it really is usefull! :D
best thing ive seen in a guide
Tiny tip for starters : When u vaal orb your map and it becomes Unidentified the map mods are the same as they were before the vaal orb.
Dang, that's handy. Didn't know they stayed the same, thought they got rerolled again.
Vaal orb applies 1 of a list of possible changes ie. Making the map unidentified
Does it still count as the Bonus Objective when this happens?
@@Twiddle_TV Yes.

Very useful for SSF, but in trade league you might as well just buy the map. Mid to low tier maps are typically very cheap.
So... What is the recipe... ?
3 of the same map of the same tier to vendor gives you a new map of a higher tier, or you can use harbinger orbs to change the map to a new map of the same tier
