    This is a cool test, and I’m dorky enough to watch reviews when I’m trying to buy mini compact blower for job site. I don’t know if they were first, but I had a black indexer years ago that was pretty dang good.
    As for the testing, it is worth noting that high-end power tools and other devices using Lipo batteries have safety parameters for their batteries to cut off. I’m not trying to make an excuse here, but I have found this true in power tools, RC cars, and any other devices running on am Lipo batteries. The cheaper, usually imported devices do not bother to put in place these safety protocols to keep one from draining their battery. still great test, and I’ll buy one to try it.

    I have that kimo blower. It works great for General camper use. I also ended up buying a drill for the stabilizers which is Much better than the more expensive model it replaced. I just added a pole saw, just for batteries that are all interchangeable. Pretty good little Amazon brand.

    Another great video, with a surprise ending. I have a cheap little electric one that we carry in the van, that cost about $20( and much shorter blower tube). If it dies, I'll definitely be looking at that Kimo.
    Thanks for another objective and informative video.

    This result surprised and intrigued me. After looking up the KIMO on Amazon I found it interesting close they were with the Dewalt being rated at 100CFM and the Kimo being rated at 150CFM. That would make me think the Dewalt has a less powerful motor and should have had a lower speed but lasted longer. Guess not, ha.

  • @sw1641

    Was impressed with your side by side comparison and decided to try the Kimo. Charged it twice and it doesn't work. When the power button is depressed all the way, the blower shuts off after a few seconds. It will only stay on at lower speeds. I have to return it. Love the compact size for use with our camper but I can't keep it if it doesn't work. Maybe I just got a bad one but it's going back.

    Well I would assume that you are a DeWalt guy, sad. I kind of like the Milwaukee myself, that’s what I have. Saying that, I have never tested it when I blow off my RV. When we go camping it don’t take me no six minutes to the job. You can’t even buy a battery for the DeWalt for $60.

    • @WanderingWeekends
      @WanderingWeekends  2 роки тому

      I’ve always had good luck with DeWalt products but I’m not brand loyal. Looks like all of the name brands are ripping us off claiming “the cost of the battery has increased”. I’m calling bull butter…

  • @phillipkristicockrell3968
    @phillipkristicockrell3968 2 роки тому

    I think you missed one of the most important aspects of why we choose battery operated power tools - because we already own those type of batteries and chargers! You can actually get the Dewalt tool for about $100 less if you just need the tool (I've got several chargers and plenty of batteries). You should do a review on the Dewalt 20V inflator. That thing is a game changer! I air up everything from the airbags on my truck to my tractor tires with it. So when you factor in that I already own a crap-ton of Dewalt 20V tools, a $67 blower from Makita, even if it is slightly better in some regards, makes zero sense. No need to carry that extra weight of additional batteries and chargers with me.

    • @WanderingWeekends
      @WanderingWeekends  2 роки тому +1

      Nearly 4x as much for an inferior product?! Man these big marketing Machines really have some folks by the throat. I have other DeWalt products and interchangeable batteries are nice… until you realize they’re ripping you off with $100 batteries that are mediocre all for “convenience”. DeWalt should be ashamed and we shouldn’t accept this mediocrity from them.

    Personally I use a Milwaukee. The mph is not the best test. Look at the CFM . You can blow thru a straw at 35 mph but with a 3-4” nozzle it take a lot more air. Kinda like horsepower vs torque. My bet is my Milwaukee or a DeWalt will out perform in the field for a lot longer. I’ve had mine for 4 years so far without a hiccup or loss of batteries

    • @WanderingWeekends
      @WanderingWeekends  2 роки тому +1

      DeWalt has certainly done a great job of marketing (and adding an extra layer of plastic to make their stuff seem substantial) but my main disappointment was the battery. I’d love an explanation on why they’re charging 3-4x what others do for batteries only to have them be outperformed by a no name that is a year older and has been given hell by a 5 year old that entire time. Hmmm

    • @herb7877
      @herb7877 2 роки тому +1

      @@WanderingWeekends I can’t speak to DeWalt as I am a Milwaukee user. There batteries are also expensive but there are many tests out there showing they out perform the knock offs. Mine are going strong after 4 years. I’d also add that a lot of contractors and pro’s use these two brands day in and out . They depend upon the performance for their livelihood. I myself learned years ago buy quality tools upfront and you’ll benefit in the long run.. IMHO....
