Thanks to everyone for sticking around for 100k subscribers! I took some time off but expect more videos coming your way in the future. See you out there ✌
Congrats on the m2. Have enjoyed your videos for a long time and you have cycled through two cars I still own - was interesting to hear your perspective. Looking forward to future videos.
This video hits pretty close to home for me - I also went from an S550 Mustang GT (2017) to an OG M2 (2017), both 6MT. immensely enjoyed my time with the M2, still miss it now and would love to own another one. It truly does feel like a special modern day M car! hope you put many enjoyable miles on it
Looking forward to all the content to come , especially with the m2. Your original m235i video was a big reason why I bought my 2014 m235i and I still have it to this day! Great car.
Found your video (and channel) through the Bimmerpost forum. Loving the music choice ~@4:00 mark. I got my M2C from cross country in Tennessee and I'm in LA. Had a carrier transport it instead but I would've loved to drive it back if I didn't have to work. Always wanted to do a cross country run with my dream car. Congrats!
Perfect car! About 4 years ago I rented on Turo a White 2018 M2 with a 6 speed and I still think about that trip! Took it through all the canyons in Malibu and along the coast. Instantly felt like I had driven it my whole life. Just the right size. Just a slight press on the gas and the back end would kick out through the curves, and then correct its self. So much fun. By far the funniest day of my life in a car. Searched for 2 years for a 2018 M2 Laguna blue with a sunroof, 6 speed and low miles…..Nada. Gave up and bought a 2021 Supra which I love but it’s an auto….still fun but nothing like the M2.
I love the story! The Supras are great as well. I looked into those but since the manuals are still so new they’re quite expensive. This will satisfy the itch for now. Thanks for sharing.
Hey great to see you back. I was looking at those M2s…I really like them, for all the reasons you went through. I have an X5 with that N55 - I love that engine. Also, I do think that era BMW dash is really really good. I have a ‘14 BMW and a ‘21, and I like the dash of the ‘14 more. Great purchase and rock on!
Thanks for the kind words! I agree with you, really like the layout from the early to mid 2010's vs what we have now. I purchased a Q7 last year and had a bit of regret that I never got the X5. I might have on of those in my future for a daily..
Our X5 is a ‘14. Bought it CPO in ‘17. We’ve spent $1400 on “repairs”. If I had to have only one car, it might be the X5. It is big enough to fit people into comfortably, it get 27mpg highway, really comfy on long trips, has the great N55…it’s like what a Buick Electra 225 was to people in the ‘70s. Big, fast, comfortable. Weird comparison, but I think it is apt. The styling of that era was the best, too, I think. It’s just handsome from every angle. Great car in an unsung hero kind of way.
Great video and way better choice of car! Love the alpine white over black, really a classic Beemer combo. I love those years M2’s as they really bridge the gap between new design and BMWs roots, nothing like it. As a fanboy I like your choice. Enjoy it.
The N55 in the M2 is an N55+, it is different from a regular N55 and not just a tune. Some forged internals, oil cooling, etc. BMW basically took the 2 series racing engine variant and put that in the M2.
The M2 blue is Long Beach Blue Metallic. Laguna Seca Blue was an e46 M3 color that is lighter and non-metallic. Congrats on acquiring a great car! I am tempted to get one myself while I wait for a G87 M2.
Cool update, and congrats on the M2 and 100k. I've been wondering about my 22 BRZ since Subaru has waffled in standing behind it's 2.4-litre engine. It is making me ponder cars I'm curious about like the MR2 Spyder or an early Boxster S that has had the IMS replaced. I'm looking forward to seeing the M2 journey.
Thank you! It's is disappointing considering what I've seen from Subaru on that front. I actually considered a latest gen BRZ/86 before I bought the M2. They're really great cars otherwise. Switching to a mid-engine car would certainly be a different experience for you, although the Boxsters can still be costly to maintain even though they are cheap to get into. Either way, you can't go wrong with any of those choices!
Hey man, thank you for the content. Find it very enjoyable. Out of curiosity, and if you don’t mind being asked, how much do you loose on average, if at all, every time you switch to a new ride? Also, do you still own the GT4?
Been an owner of a GT350 for a few years and I love that car so much, but I’ve been eyeing an M2. Love the potential they have with tuning and look so sharp. Not sure what I’ll do, that Voodoo engine is something special though!
I did the same thing, except I traded in my 2017 Mustang GT on a new 2020 BMW M240i x-drive. Had the BMW almost three years now. Best / most fun car I’ve ever had. I miss my Mustang, but I love my M240.
I couldn't agree more. I have had several Corvettes, Camaros, and Mustangs over the past many years. I purchased a new M2CS 2 1/2 years ago. This car is a keeper. So much fun. Will never sell. I will leave it to a family member in my will. They better learn how to drive a manual transmission ( seems to be a lost art with the younger generation).
We need some more M2 content please because I have been in the market for an M2 for a couple years now and prices are finally starting to make sense so give us some more M2 content
M2 is one of my favorite cars I have ever driven. I’m considering selling my Honda S200 to buy one. Love the S but need something more practical but still fun and special feeling.
I used to own an S2k. For what you need, the M2 is a nice transition. While the M2 engine won't have the fizz of the s2k engine, it does at least produce WAY more power. Good luck!
What made you move from California to Colorado? Divorce? UA-cam in LA was not worth the ROI for what you were spending on living costs? Hope all the best!
I chose a MT '21 M2C over the Mustang and Camaro primarily because of the interior, the outward view, and the need for an actually usable back seat. I miss the V8 sound constantly, but the turbo 6 torque is no joke. I'll just deal with the exhaust sound, no significant regrets. Like you, I love the overall size of the M2, and how small it feels.
As an OG M2 owner, the N55 is not a “N55”. This motor was specifically designed by M. The Cranshaft bearings, pistons, and dry oil sump all from the S55 motor. This is a much beefier N55 that will hold on track VS an “N55” ordinary motor. Otherwise, great review.
PLEASE TEST THE NEW HONDA ACCORD GENERATION IN HYBRID TOURING THAT JUST CAME OUT. REALLY IMPORTANT TO DO A BICYCLE TEST TOO BECAUSE PEOPLE ARE TALKING ABOUT IT AS AN SUV REPLACEMENT
Dude where tf have you been, UA-cam hasn’t suggested a video from you since you bought the GT4. I forgot you had moved to California and all. Damn time flies, we should meet up and drive before we die😂 How is everything? Anything new?
Debating over these 2 actually, mustang vs m2. Yeah built quality is terrible in the mustang. Also fuel economy is horrible, probably would be gettign 15 with my driving but with an m2 I would get around 22. I actually really love the DCT trans coming from dig and roll racing also the fact you can drift it pretty easily and hold gears with the DCT. The 10 speed in the mustang is like a bus/semi truck transmission, does NOT need that many gears.
Oh gosh. The GT4 is just so much more car, as the prices would suggest. GT4 engine sings in a way the M2 does not. However, in a straight line these would be very well matched. The torque of the turbo M2 motor is extremely noticeable and welcomed. Also the M2 rides better for everyday driving. The GT4 is quite stiff. End of the day, M2 better daily, GT4 better weekend car.
@EatSleepDrive Cool it's same car just 150whp less so you can be full throttle more often. Maybe try get a press one to enjoy for a week though before they gone
My initial answer to your video title is; because you're a glutton for punishment obviously. Hope it came with a good warranty! Edit* I just realized you had that ISF, which is why I started watching your channel. I guess the warranty probably isn't needed since this car will be gone by Christmas 😂
Thanks to everyone for sticking around for 100k subscribers! I took some time off but expect more videos coming your way in the future. See you out there ✌
I was wondering where your videos have gone!
Congrats on the m2. Have enjoyed your videos for a long time and you have cycled through two cars I still own - was interesting to hear your perspective. Looking forward to future videos.
Much appreciated Daniel! Thanks for sticking around.

What did you graduate to now?
Looking forward to all the content to come , especially with the m2. Your original m235i video was a big reason why I bought my 2014 m235i and I still have it to this day! Great car.
Fantastic choice! For the money they are hard to bear. Incredible value.

Congrats on the OG M2! Just bought a manual one too back in March! Super fun daily!
Manual FTW. Enjoy!
I've been looking at these online. Looking forward to your full review!
Coming soon!

Wondered where you went, love the channel, hope life is going well. Colorado is beautiful. Would love to spend some time there
That means a lot Sean. Thanks for sticking around!

Much appreciated! I agree, the styling direction of BMW lately makes me appreciate these cars even more.
OG M2 is my dream car. Love the N55.
The N55 in the M2 is an N55+, it is different from a regular N55 and not just a tune. Some forged internals, oil cooling, etc. BMW basically took the 2 series racing engine variant and put that in the M2.

Thanks for the correction, I mixed the two up in my head.

Beautiful car! I would love a N55 M2. Also I appreciate your comparison between that and a M235i. I've always wondered how different they were.
Glad you liked it!
Every time you get a new car I feel like I get one lol. Love the channel congrats.
Hahaha, thank you! Glad you enjoy it.
Enjoy Colorado and the M2
Thank you!
Manual FTW - love my 997.1 C2S manual ❤️👍👌
Excellent choice!

As much as I love the m2 I think the voodoo v8 is unbeatable. They’ll be plenty of turbo 6cyl cars, but v8s are going away sadly. Keep the 350!
I did the same thing, except I traded in my 2017 Mustang GT on a new 2020 BMW M240i x-drive. Had the BMW almost three years now. Best / most fun car I’ve ever had. I miss my Mustang, but I love my M240.
Maybe I missed it but do you still have your 05 STI or did you sell it? Awesome buy with the M2!
I sold the STI. I should probably do a video with car updates as to why I moved on from it.
great justification... look forward to more m2 content!

Excellent purchase! The CS is sure to be a future classic. Probably the best M car BMW has built in the past 10 years.
OG M2 🔥
Great buy!!! Can you try to get your hands on an integra type s and share your thoughts?? :)
I am certainly trying!
We need some more M2 content please because I have been in the market for an M2 for a couple years now and prices are finally starting to make sense so give us some more M2 content

Mountains and cost of living mainly.

UA-cam doing me dirty. All good man! Where you at these days?
Man, I think might have to swap my Is350 for a 2016 M2. Should be a good daily
OG M2 wtw!

What year m2 is this?
Awesome car, and a great value in today’s bloated market!!
Glad you agree!
GT4 vs M2, GO!

Too funny, 5 weeks ago I sold my 2016 mustang GT for an Alpine white black interior 2016 bmw m2. Best decision I ever made
I sold my 2015 Mustang for a 2020 white mustang lol, everyone’s sellin at the same time
I like your style.
How many cars have you owned to date? Rough guess is fine.
50ish
Wheelbase is only 1" shorter than Mustang GT
Long Beach Blue.
Are you still Cali or Colorado?
Colorado.
Congratulations! You should test drive a SS 1LE it's the best of both these cars
Thanks! I’ve driven a ZL1 but never a SS 1LE. That’s definitely one I will consider in the future!
@EatSleepDrive Cool it's same car just 150whp less so you can be full throttle more often. Maybe try get a press one to enjoy for a week though before they gone
Lmk how that engine is after 80,000 miles and transmission
Btw honest tone behind this message not being a dick
It's a boat, mustang people shit on me whenever I say that. Why not a supra ?
I really wanted a manual, and since the manual Supra is currently closer to $60k I didn’t see the value is spending another 50%+.
@@EatSleepDrive Gotcha, forgot how much cheaper the m2 used on fb marketplace is... makes sense thanks !
Boat? Eh… Yes. Great platform? Yes.
A true boat is a Mopar.
I just sold my 2019 GT mustang premium PP1, piece of sh@t for $2.5k less than I paid for it. Good riddence to that clickety engine!.
At least you made out alright on it. A lot of those do have a strange clicking noise when running don't they?
@@EatSleepDrive it’s a nightmare. Lovely car but it sounds really bad at idle!
My initial answer to your video title is; because you're a glutton for punishment obviously. Hope it came with a good warranty!
Edit* I just realized you had that ISF, which is why I started watching your channel. I guess the warranty probably isn't needed since this car will be gone by Christmas 😂
😂😂😂
M engines don’t even have the same meaning anymore, who cares at this point
You sold your Mustang for a chick car...lol.
Enjoy BMW problems! You'll miss you Mustang very soon.
Can't wait!
