It seems a significant part of her issues with the Mustang revolved around the the tires and the lack of the 10 speed in the Mustang. That was also the difference between the two at the drag strip.
If you are going to compare these two cars, they should have both had either autos or sticks.
I agree with this - I don't even like Mustangs, but that drag time was bullshit. 2018 GTs are definitely faster than that.
I'll reserve judgment on the PP2 itself until somebody compares it directly to the SS 1LE.
If the Mustang had an automatic it would have beat the M4 by an even wider margin. PP2 only comes in a manual.

They used the same driver to test both cars. Weight played no difference. That lady was just not very good at manual shifting. And the tires were shot on the Mustang.

@@gil4812 yeah man, I got mine for $40k with 30k miles. Dude I bought it from bought it for 60k 18 months earlier and owed more than sold it for. That's a little scary as far as depreciation goes but they usually settle in the 30s range, not that I plan on selling it anytime soon. Even E92s still sell for high 20s.
They actually really need drivers for the zero to 60 and quarter mile. I've done a 4.6 and a 12.88 in 6 spd 16 GT(track apps verified). I work for Ford dealer and constantly Drive these I have not tested out the 2018...yet!

That's the slowest 0-60 and 1/4 mile time I have ever seen for a manual 2018 Mustang. That Mustang should be in the low 4's to 60, low 12s in the 1/4 and near 116 trap speed. Blah. Hell, My lightly modded elderly 2003 Mach 1 5-Speed gets to 60 in 4.8 and 12.90s at 109 in the 1/4.
For auto yes, but this is not what I saw for the manual. The new mustang is fast because of the auto trans. The manual is just soso, from what I saw. This casr has power in the upper range of the rmp, the manual gearing is not helping much and sticky tire on a sticky track are not helping in that case, in fact it is worst. I have some experience at the track, and launching a manual car on a well prep track with sticky tire is not easy unless you are willing to break things. It is especially harder with a car that does not have plenty of torque at low rmp, like the mustang.

Even the 2013-2014 gt were running 12.5-12.7. 12.7 was a safe bet with a good driver. The 2018 is underrated and is probably making about 500 crank hp. No way it should be running that slow. Either that car is beat to shit or there is driver error.

Honestly if the 2018 6M had last year's better manual with 5th being the 1:1 ratio instead of the mega tall ratio 4th 1:1 2018 6M, it would make a big difference. If I get one I'm swapping in an older better MT-82

A performance exhaust helps a lot. Helps the engine breathe meaning youll be a bit faster and betters the noise.

You cannot get the performance package2 on the mustang in an automatic it comes in six speed manual only I’m not sure about the BMW. But if manual was available you should have used it in the BMW also?

It's a really terrible engine and transmission that's why. Americans think big number = good. But they don't ask how does the car produce that number.
I test drove one just today infact and the power delivery is complete rubbish. It feels like it has huge turbo lag...when it doesn't even have a turbo charger. No low down torque, the transmission would change gears down to do the slightest bit of acceleration.
That's how they keep the car costing so little. It's a terrible engine and transmission combo. But that's what little engineering gets you and the price point.
BMW engineers clearly care about power delivery and not just raw numbers. Drive an M4 and a car with twin turbos has more linear power delivery and instant throttle response compared to the Mustang. It's worlds apart. But then again that's why it costs more. Engineering is a world apart

So yea mustang GT all the way. M4 is nice just over priced and way better options like a zl1, z06, gt350r and etc

Addendum: BMW's corporate agenda is to sell cars to people who think they are better built while selling cars like the 750iL whose V10's tendency to self destruct due to inadequate lube of the rod bearings was well known but BMW continued using the same engine (albeit as a V8) in the normally aspirated M3's with the same result! Now THAT's corporate integrity.
Plus my 15 GT looks better dirty than any BMW looks clean....

GT350 is slower than the '18 Stang Automatic. And the comparison in this video has flaw / biased. Take them to more tracks and with proper preparation and you will see Stang losing to the M4. So if GT350 was to compete it would lose to the M4 even more.

Mustang is 2 seconds faster but then we have the straight line performance and the M4 beats it by almost 2 seconds on the quarter. Lol with the wider tires the Mustang still lost. GT350 is faster than a M4 obviously but that’s why they have the M4 GTS. Also the Mustang Gt350 whatever beats the M4 GTS. But BMW isn’t done with the M4 yet before it dies in a year or two BMW is planning to make one more last performance version maybe called the M4 CSL. Check on UA-cam it looks kind of weird but it looks like a baby Senna running around.

5.2 seconds for the Mustang only means their so-called "Pro" driver wasn't much of a Pro. MotorTrend, and Car and Driver magazines both managed to get 4.3 an 4.2 second 0-60 times with experienced drivers in the regular PP1 MT-82 packages.

Whoever drove that Mustang to produce a 5.3 second 0-60 should be fired. Even with a manual transmission, that car should be more than a second faster to 60. That is incompetent driving if I've ever heard it.
I believe track mode in a pp1 level Mustang changes shift points. Not necessary in a 6 speed manual obviously

Yeah, for what that M4 costs, or less, you can get a Corvette Z06, a Grand Sport, a Stingray Z51, a Camaro SS 1LE, a Camaro ZL1, a Camaro ZL1 1LE, a Cadillac ATS-V or a Cadillac CTS-V.

Ok review, i want to know if its a drivers car. Like realistic things, such as if i were to go out to dinner is it good for suits? Does it have good comfort? Is it good for the realistic track? Like once a month track ... woukd it break? Does it havr a good trunk size?
I own not a sports car, but ive been researching for something realiable ive heard too many lambos and mercedes breaking on the road. I do not want that.
I would like to not daily drive the sports car, but i would like to drive it to a nice dinner and not be stuck on the side of the road. The charger has been one of those, but the camaro is the bang for the buck very greatly.
Might as well should have used the gt350. It's still under $70,000 and would probably be a better competitor. I feel like the standard should have been compared to the M2 if we're going price vs price. Both cars are nice. By the way people complaining about the 0-60. You have to remember in a manual car, EVERYTHING DEPENDS ON THE DRIVER. If the driver can't shift the car the way it should be then the car won't get the acceleration times that it should. This is just about the only time I agree that the 10speed auto pp1 should have been used just to take out the lack of straight line gear slamming from whoever did the testing. I feel like for acceleration tests in a manual a "street racer" should be used. Someone who can slam gears with some muscle. Not a tender clutch in..... shift..... clutch out.... gas. It should be all one motion.

HB Hamilton Define better built, because with cars, you can define how well something is built based on quality, or reliability. The bmw has nicer materials and better build quality, but significantly worse reliability.
@Latvietis96 I know two people who own a M3 and M4, and have had maintenance issues. BMW has their share of problems just like any other manufacturer. There just not as common as Mustangs in the States, so you don't hear about issues as often.
I can't believe this "better built" crap. After the warranties are gone, the over-computerized, difficult to repair and maintain (not to mention cost of same) BMWs( plus the company's history of not caring too much for what happens post-warranty to their cars) means : lease, don't buy(especially used).

Keep the exact cars on the track and put the 10 speed auto against the m4 competition and it would thrash the m4, not even close.. Those Recaro seats were not designed with such a large frame in mind. How did they feel for you? Most of the larger gentlemen that get in my 2015 Performance Pack Mustang do not like them.

Any car with cup tires will have a huge advantage on the track vs high performance summer tires. Put cup tires on the Camaro or M4, ect. There is a reason why manufacturers normally don't put a cup tire on road cars. We need to be fair here

I believe the M4 in this video was just regular M4 and not a Competition Pkg cause if it had it it would say it on the back M4 emblem. So he was comparing against a 425hp version.

Ford interiors suck balz, tons of known transmission and engine issues with these 18 models as well.
At least it won't cost you an arm and leg to fix or upgrade like that BMW will.
Why don't you go ask all the folks posting their videos of brand new mustangs needing new motors, transmissions, and even getting lawyers involved about buybacks and lemon laws how they feel about their mustangs?
If the BMW is under warranty it wont cost a dime to fix, and when warranty is out you can always purchase an extended one :)

I've also owned two Mustangs with no issues. So every owners experience is going to be different due to many variables. Some people prefer the Mustang, because it's a better bang for buck for performance. They don't care about fancy interiors, just want to race. Mustang also has a huge aftermarket for performance if you decide to beef up performance and handling. Mustang also sounds meaner with deep rumble. The fact that the Mustang is even being compared to a M4 in performance is win for the Mustang. Considering the Mustang is half the price of M4.
